Lorazepam for Anxiety "I used for 6 weeks. 1 - 2 mg a day. I didn’t realize how addicting it was. I quit as it was doing nothing for me. Am currently going through severe withdrawals. Very restless. Don’t know what to do with myself. This is day 16."

For Anxiety "About 4 years ago I started having early-morning awakening/insomnia/anxiety after excessive alcohol consumption the night before. Discovered that I could prevent this by taking diazepam my wife had lying around. When this ran out my GP prescribed lorazepam 0.5 mg. Gradually this lost effectiveness (tolerance) so I quit, also cut down on alcohol. A year ago I had a stressful situation and started 0.5 mg daily for a month, but was able to stop again with no side effects. However, my early-morning awakening/insomnia/anxiety had become chronic and independent of alcohol. A month ago I started 0.5 mg daily for 10 days, had a severe withdrawal, had to taper off. So, yes, like others wrote here: it works great, but not for chronic use."

Lorazepam for Anxiety "After an operation, he was great for 3 days. Became upset with nurses waking him for this or that, told them in no uncertain words to leave him alone and was shaking. They assumed he was an alcoholic and he was having withdrawal from not being able to drink in the hospital. On the 4th day and for 3 days later, couldn't talk, move on his own, or walk. Now in rehab, why would you give Ativan to someone who you thought was a drunk."

For Anxiety "Works great... no question about it, but I fear the day I go off it. That is the only reason I give it 8 instead of 10... because of the horror stories of withdrawal."

Lorazepam for Panic Disorder "I was prescribed Ativan after I was catatonic when I had a psychotic episode. It helped with my anxiety. I had never had any withdrawals, and I used it as prescribed."
