"As a child, I had severe urticaria which required Phenergan injections promptly. In my twenties, I had allergy tests and the full course of the preventative for linseed, house dust, cat hair, and certain plant leaves. That worked well mostly, but Phenergan tablets were always to hand. I am now in my 80s and still have occasional urticaria if I have been gardening and hay fever from milk products during spring and summer. I have taken Loratadine (OTC) for some years now."
