Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I was on Vyvanse for just under 1 year. It worked really well. However, as the year went on, my mouth got dryer and dryer, until I could only eat soft foods. I talked to the doctor, and I went off them in the middle of January. About 3 weeks ago, I started a new med called Adderall XR, and I can feel my mouth is starting to dry but not like the Vyvanse. While in the USA, I found some mini 'brush on the go' toothbrushes made by Colgate, called Wisp Max Fresh. With dryness, my teeth always feel like I have a film on them. Today, I used one of the brushes, and it really made my teeth and the dryness feel better. No need for water or rinsing. Maybe I can cut down on the gum and candy. We'll see!"

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I have been on Vyvanse for only a month. I was prescribed 30 mg to start. 30 mg worked for me for the first two weeks. After that, it stopped working. I increased the dosage to 40 mg. One-month Pros: * Throughout the day, food isn't my first or only thought. * Reduced appetite. * I can feel when I've had enough to eat. * My first two weeks I lost 6 lbs. * Though I typically have a hard time falling asleep, the side effect of insomnia did not worsen. * Concentration. My ability to concentrate is amazingly better. One-month Cons: * My arms and legs have become itchier. * Dry mouth. * I already have dizziness, Vyvanse does not seem to affect it any more than usual. * Irritability. This only lasted for about a day or two. * Upper stomach pain. Only lasted for about 1 week and was tolerable. ** I did NOT research alcohol and this drug before taking it. Due to the character limit, please watch videos about this."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I feel like I’m being a little generous by giving Vyvanse a 3 because it does work to some degree, but I have very unpleasant side effects from it. My doctor finally switched me to generic Adderall IR-thank God-and it’s fantastic. I must be abnormal with how I digest Vyvanse or something because I find it far more potent, and not in a good way. It gives me serious dry mouth, diarrhea, anxiety, excessive sweating, and depression. The effect was different almost every day: some days were okay, a lot were terrible, and a few were good. It muted most of my emotions except a general sense of discomfort. But I could focus when it didn’t make me depressed. On the other hand, Adderall IR is a cakewalk and I feel great in general."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I was having my son tested for ADD, and the doctor ended up suggesting I get tested also. I am a 39-year-old male. I always knew I was capable of more, I always felt fairly intelligent. I always had issues recalling details of projects and a roller coaster ride of motivation. I would wait until I had the pressure of the timeline closing before acting. I have become a dynamo at work and home. Instead of thinking about 100 different details of multiple projects all at once, I am able to focus on one at a time, but I have to stay organized because I can see details of something, and I can't help but work on it because I get excited I can see everything so clearly. I get a dry mouth and have trouble winding down at night. Can't stop working."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I started using Vyvanse 3-4 weeks ago. Not good for me. Started from 10 mg and experienced headache, nausea, and dry mouth. Felt like a drunk person. Not feeling like an energetic and sharp person. Could sleep any time I want. Increased to 20 mg and experienced heart pain and woke up with my left eye all red. I thought that it was allergies to some flowers. Increased dosage to 30 mg and experienced chest pain and heart pain. Very scary for me, so I stopped. The concentration level increased but not as I expected. The chest pain was very scary for me."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Today was my first day taking Vyvanse, and wow! I usually have a sad, down feeling and don't want to talk to anyone. I am a 26-year-old college student. But today, I actually made two new friends from class and went to lunch with them. I feel like I can walk into a room with confidence now. The only bad thing is I did have a mild headache around 9 p.m. After it wore off and it only lasted around 8 hours, with a dry mouth. I am on the 60 mg dose. The other great thing is I actually felt like being in class today, took 7 pages of notes, sat in the very front of the class, and wasn't afraid to ask questions! I'm happy to have found Vyvanse, and paying attention is so much easier now. Highly recommended for people with ADD."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 20 yrs old and I have been taking Vyvanse for about 2 years now. I take 60mg about the same time each morning, and it really does wonders in helping me concentrate and getting everything done both at home and school. I've noticed a BIG difference in myself on the days I do take it and on the days I don't. Only side effects are the loss of appetite, headaches from not eating (from the loss of appetite), dry mouth, irritability, and now I have depression. Don't know if I should lower my dosage now or maybe it's from another cause."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I've been taking Vyvanse for a couple of months, and I've learned that the first couple of weeks taking the medication is really the hardest when it comes to side effects. I suffered from dry mouth, loss of appetite, headaches, some but very few mood swings. As far as sleep, I crash at the end of the day, which can be due to this medication. I am irritable every now and then, but before, I was very frustrated with everyday activities. It gives me energy for the most part. I'm not shaky or nervous like I was on Adderall XR. I haven't lost a ton of weight on Vyvanse, unlike Adderall, which I lost 60 pounds on within 4 months."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "It works, very well, in fact, but I am getting really annoying side effects. Dry mouth, stomach pains, on the first day I take it, after it completely gets out of my system, I usually get headaches. I also barely eat, instead of eating about 3 steaks, I can only eat half a steak. Most people's side effects aren't as bad as mine, though."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I am 24 years old (female). I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 11. Over the years, I tried Adderall, Concerta, and Strattera, none of them really worked all that great. But I spent 8 years on Ritalin. When I was 20, I was taking 60 mg of Ritalin a day and was failing all my classes. My doctor switched me to 70 mg of Vyvanse (started out at 70 mg since I had been on a high dose of Ritalin for so long), and it was like magic! I started getting all A's and became more productive at work. The only bad things about the medicine are some of the side effects. I've noticed that gum helps with the dry mouth compared to just drinking water. I suffer from anxiety and insomnia now but take Celexa for anxiety and Ambien for insomnia. But all is good."

For ADHD "I was diagnosed (19F) about 8 months ago with ADHD and started medication a month after. I hated Ritalin's effects. With Vyvanse, I have immense irritability during the wear-off, however, during the day, I feel focused. I do have significant appetite loss and dry mouth, and if I take more than 20 mg, I lose all appetite entirely. I'm considering changing my medication because of the side effects and how exhausting the wear-off is."

For ADHD "It helps me focus, but that doesn't outweigh the negative side effects: - Depression - Dry mouth - Sweating - Irritability - Decreased blood pressure after standing up. It really changes me into a worse person. I can't enjoy anything. It's a shame I need to take it for academics."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm 16, and I've taken Vyvanse for months now, and it helps a lot with minimal side effects. My mouth does get dry, and I become less social, but other than that, it's preferable to Ritalin, as Ritalin is much less smooth in terms of kicking in and wearing off and lasts a lot shorter."

For ADHD "lisdexamfetamine completely changed my life. Prior to taking this, I was always frustrated as I knew I was smart but felt it was pointless being smart as it was impossible to properly apply myself consistently and achieve. After taking the medication, immediately I found my focus completely changed. I am now able to consistently and accurately focus on tasks, it has completely unlocked the potential I knew I have always had. One side effect is dry mouth, which isn't so dry it's irritable or even very noticeable, however, the slight lack of moisture has the effect of causing bad breath. Another side effect is a reduction in patience, hence a slight increase in anger. Things seem more irritable, however, this is something you can easily control if you are aware of it. The last side effect is a great reduction in appetite, however, this is not a major problem as I just eat food anyway. Overall, extremely positive in the treatment of ADHD, but I know others who found it less positive."

For Narcolepsy "I originally was put on this medication for my ADHD. I was on it for 2-3 years. I didn’t take it for a week, and that’s when my narcolepsy symptoms started. I couldn’t get on a schedule to take it. I would wake up late and didn’t want to take it, and then stay up late. The bright side is that incident led to my narcolepsy diagnosis. Taking Vyvanse covered up my narcolepsy symptoms. Prior, I was diagnosed with hypersomnia and insomnia. Anyway, my side effects are dry mouth, thirst, lack of appetite/forgetting to eat, and in the first 2 hours, I can be a little more emotional (not sure if that’s really related). I have taken from 90 mg to 30 mg. What worked best for me was 30 mg in the morning and then 40 mg at lunch. This helped with the eating and making sure it lasted the whole day. I would say it lasts 10+ hours. But when I was only on 40 mg, I felt it just lasted maybe 6 hours. Overall, great drug."

For ADHD "This medication is decent. I take 50 mg of generic lisdexamfetamine with Zoloft/sertraline and I feel fantastic with the combo. The dopamine + serotonin combo is functional and blissful. However, I get cotton mouth, vasoconstriction, and tunnel vision. Tunnel vision is also an ADHD symptom I'm thinking of treating with a medication after sincerely trying to manage with anything extra. I'm going to try adding atomoxetine to the mix to enhance norepinephrine signaling. Norepinephrine is a hormone and a neurotransmitter. A selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, like atomoxetine, works in the brain by activating the prefrontal cortex to mediate higher cognitive function. That's just me though. I would recommend lisdexamfetamine to anyone with ADHD."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Much better than Adderall that I've been taking for 12 years. My heart doesn't race, the dry mouth effects aren't nearly as intense. There are no more highs and lows! Love it."
