"I started taking this pill and immediately noticed the difference. My life literally changed the moment I took the first pill. While I suffered from uncontrollable speech the first 2 days, but my body adjusted. I started with 50mg, and I now take 70mg. I am 23 years old. Some other side effects I have experienced are decreased libido, loss of weight, and appetite. However, I can concentrate on anything. This pill has taken the characteristic of lazy out of me. I am more productive than ever."

"I have ADHD since I was very young. I've been on numerous different medications for it - Adderall XR, Concerta, Strattera, etc. Out of them all, Vyvanse has had the best results. Vyvanse helps me focus, get things done, act my age, and think before I act. I can focus on one thing at a time, rather than twenty things at once. One thing I have noticed about Vyvanse is that it treats my ADHD but doesn't take away from my personality. In other words, it doesn't make me feel like a zombie. I would definitely recommend Vyvanse to anyone with legitimate ADHD!"

"I was not officially diagnosed with ADD until I was 30 years old. I have been on Vyvanse for over 10 years now. I have had to increase my dose from 30 to 50 and have now been at 60 for over a year. Sometimes I feel it causes irritability, but other than that, only dry mouth. It has definitely helped with my attention disorder. It initially made me lose 10 lbs and then leveled out. I have always been athletic except when my chronic pain is too bad. My son has ADHD and took Concerta for about 2 years. It helped tremendously with his anger, outbursts, and grades. I only wish that my parents had me tested when I was younger as we did for my son. It would have taken away a lot of heartache! My daughter never suffered, thankfully."

"This is the first ADHD medication I have ever tried, as the diagnosis is new. I’ve only ever been on antidepressants/antipsychotics for depression and anxiety (currently on Zoloft and Rexulti). When I added Vyvanse, I was on 30 mg for 1 month. At first, I noticed an increase in mental clarity and physical energy. After a few days, I noticed the medication made me feel negative in the afternoons but nothing severe. When I told my psychiatrist, she put me on 50 mg, which I’ve been on for a month. The pros of the medication are basically nonexistent now, it made me feel so down and negative. Now that I’m getting off of it, I can’t stop crying and am terrified of being alone. My anxiety is out of control, and I feel physically sick from withdrawal (cold sweats, hot flashes, nausea, dizziness, etc.). I can’t find these withdrawal symptoms listed anywhere online, I feel insane. I do not recommend this medication."

"Vyvanse has been wonderful to me. Struggling with ADHD, mood swings, and anxiety has not. I am even diagnosed with narcolepsy. With this in mind, I now have the ability to make healthier choices without meds, but I still strongly recommend Vyvanse. AA (Al-Anon) has changed my life, and I don't drink much anymore. I'm thankful for this medicine as well as the lovely people in my life. I love Jesus too. ❤️"

"A total life changer! I have become much happier and much more motivated in life. I have always had trouble paying attention, would drift off, daydream, get stuck in my head. My grades in high school weren't bad, but they definitely could have been better if I didn't procrastinate and be lazy all of the time and keep putting things off. Because of this, I suffered depression and lack of self-esteem because I thought others were better or smarter than me. That being said, there is anxiety when the drug wears off and unfortunately, the effects of the drug itself don't last long for me, I'd say about 4 hours max. So I always have my days planned out in order to maximize my productivity. But I am in a much better place in my life now. 21 years old in CC planning to transfer soon and much more motivated and driven. One more thing. This medication is not for everyone. You may not have the experience with it that I or others did. Find which med works for you."

"My 8-year-old son has been on this medication for 1 year and a half. He started at 20mg, now he is taking 40mg. I have noticed that it does not seem to work, and after trying for 9 months to get him off and on something else, I am going to take him to a different doctor. Given the fact that after 9 months it is still not working, another doctor would try something different, but his doctor just keeps upping the dosage. I have also noticed side effects that disturb. It worries me because my son is usually happy-go-lucky all the time, and with this medicine, he is VERY EASILY upset, not himself at all. SO PLEASE BE AWARE OF EVERYTHING YOUR CHILD DOES OR ACTS WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION."

"33 y/o now taking 30mg at 5am. I have battled with depression for almost 10 years, taking Sertraline, and it's had a moderate effect on me with loads of off days and times where I couldn't leave bed. I have started taking Elvanse 30mg for nearly a week now, and after one hour of taking this drug, I could have burst out crying with complete joy. For the first time in nearly 20 years, I could think clearly and didn't overthink or ruminate over past trauma. I can think clearly, interact with people better, and generally feel happier. It's hard to explain how this feels, but instead of my mind being a complete washing machine, I can focus for 10 hours at work and feel zero stress. I highly recommend this drug as a means to feel what I would class as being normal, and I can't express just how this has changed my life in such a short space of time."

"It works well, some of the reviews on here are just strange. One of them being someone was taking this for depression and they complained it didn't work? Well, I wonder why their doctor prescribed it to them, as it is for ADHD and BED. But all in all, if you follow the regime correctly, you're going to be fine."

"I took a few different ADHD meds as a child with 'fine' results (never excellent but not usually bad), but tried going unmedicated for years in my 20s. When I came back to a psych in 2019 she wanted me to try Vyvanse. I've been taking it for 5 years this month and can say my life has been 100x better since. There are still struggles because the pill is not magic, but it's a level of struggle that I can use coping strategies for instead of constant overwhelm. I've held down good jobs instead of quitting on impulse. I can do tasks at home that need doing! I went from a HS dropout to graduating college this spring because I can focus and apply myself. I drive safer because I'm not distracted, and I'm safer at home because I don't forget something is plugged in. I started on 30mg, and I've stayed on it with good results. I like it."

"In England, my mother took me to the doctor. Being a nurse herself, she knew I had ADHD. The doctors wanted to put me on Ritalin, but my mother said no, I would grow out of it eventually. In the US, my attention from high school through college became worse, and I got into a lot of trouble. My grades were horrible in high school through college, even at work. I had to take classes two to three times over again. The only way I would remember daily things was to write them down. Now at 41, I got help, and I am able to focus, complete tasks, remember without asking ten times, and sit still. It's never too late for help. Just wish I would have done this 35 years ago. My anger has subsided also with no side effects."

"Addressing the misinformed subscriber who proclaimed, 'Vyvanse is SPEED!', and that its use led to his rapid addiction to speed. This is clinically not possible. Though there is an underlying component of amphetamine in this med, it is moreover a CNS (Central Nervous System Stimulant), as is strattera (which contains a large percentage of norepinephrine in it and may help those battling depression as well as ADD). Guess what else is classified as a CNS - your morning coffee. We all recognize Folgers and Nescafe as unregulated gateway drugs, so shouldn't we get excited about them as some of these 'users and their abuses of caffeine' aside the evils of Vyvanse? Personal responsibility and accountability are key."

"I'm already a thin male. I'm normally 6'1" and about 145. I've always been a really thin guy, 'bean pole' is what I get a lot or 'dipstick,' lol. Now it's gotten even worse with Vyvanse. In about 3 weeks, I've lost about 10 pounds. I'm currently 135 lb and still dropping. I don't eat nearly enough and work really hard, plus I golf a lot in the heat. I don't necessarily feel sick, I just have zero desire to ever eat. Eating seems like a task and a chore now rather than a treat and something I enjoy. It's the ONLY negative with this medication for me. I'm going to start a weight gain shake and begin counting calories to see if that helps me go back to my normal weight."

"Vyvanse has been a wonder drug for me. At the urging of my wife, I got tested for ADHD. I have been on Lexapro for years, but the emotional dysregulation, constant agitation, and mental hyperactivity hit a breaking point. I ran through some tests and visits with a psych. Methylphenidate worked slightly at first, but eventually minimal benefit. After trying Adderall IR, we settled on Vyvanse. It’s the best there is for me. My GAD is immensely calmed, I can focus on daily tasks and go about regular life without thinking each step through 7500 times and not ever actually taking action. Emotions highly regulated and can mentally tame my anxiety as I can now recognize it. I eat well, run and/or lift weights every day and am a healthy 34-year-old. Working out and food are not the sole answer for everyone. Vyvanse changed my life drastically. It sounds like a lot of people with negative reviews may have never really had ADHD or Vyvanse was the wrong medication for them."

"Vyvanse made me feel like I had dementia; I kept forgetting words and could barely form sentences. I’m only 32, so it was frustrating and overwhelming to feel like I was losing all my brain cells. I am not an emotional person, but I would start crying during work and normal situations, which was embarrassing. I felt socially awkward, withdrew into myself, became very passive, and lost my confidence. I’d fall down the rabbit hole online and accomplish little more than 12 hours of research on topics which have nothing to do with my life. I also became winded and dizzy every time I stood up, which may have also been due to my weight dropping from 100 to 86 lbs while I was on it. Lastly, my vision was absurdly blurry going from 20/20 to 20/60...that wasn’t listed as a side effect at the time, so I thought I was going blind until it subsided after stopping Vyvanse. Overall, I’d say it’s great for weight loss but horrible for mental cognition."

"Vyvanse has been such an unexpected surprise. Upon taking my first dose, I noticed an immediate calming effect and the constant thought chaos in my head settled down. I have inattentive ADHD, and Vyvanse has helped me with social skills such as finding words in my conversations, slowing down my texting and emailing (so I think before I send), helping me in impulsive shopping purchases, it helps me clean and organize my home, get my daughter ready for school, amongst other things. Vyvanse generally gives me self-control which as a child I was convinced I was born without - I'm naturally an overspender, overeater, over-texter, over-thinker amongst other things, and Vyvanse helps me think before acting. I do find that it is so mild that there are certain things it does not help me with like Adderall did but Overall this is a very 'safe' medication and helps me every single day."

"For the first time in my life, I feel like my mind is mine to explore in ways I could never dream of. My brain is quiet when I need it to be, and emotions are so much more present in my body in a pleasant way that allows me to address them, instead of being at their whims. I feel like a different version of myself, one that can finally stop the shame and anger I directed at myself."

"I have a son that has struggled with an attention problem in school since kindergarten. He is now 11 years old. We tried everything not to put him on medication. The homework struggle and impulsiveness became too much for us to handle, and we finally agreed to try something. His doctor told us about a new ADHD medication called Vyvanse. Believe this or not, it was like magic the first day. He was able to get all his work done in class, and went from an A,B,C student to all A's and one B in one quarter. We have the report cards to prove it. The side effects are minimal and for him the 30mg works great. I encourage anyone battling this problem to ask their child's doctor about Vyvanse. It has changed my son's life as well as ours."

"I’ve been taking this since starting high school 8-9 years ago. This medication helped me excel at my job. I am able to focus, multitask, and have an overall good mood. I have bad anxiety as well and feel like this helps with that sometimes also. Vyvanse gives me so much energy, but I don't feel a hard crash when it wears off. This will make you lose weight without noticing at first, so it’s important to eat at your normal times even if you are not hungry. For me, I get about 12-14 hours before I’ll feel tired as the medicine wears off. Take it as soon as you wake up to avoid not being able to fall asleep at night. For me, Vyvanse has been great and I don’t plan on changing to anything else."

"I started taking Vyvanse sophomore year of high school, and my grades went up, and I actually became a good student. But I went from 142 lbs to 117 lbs. Not a good medicine if you are not okay with losing weight."

"I have taken Vyvanse for ADHD for 4 years-amazing! 30 mg at 5am and 30 mg at 2pm on my 12-hour shift, never on weekends. I am a 35-year-old otherwise healthy female. Initial weight loss from 140 to 130 but stopped there. Never tired, clear thinking. I have to remember to drink water because my job involves a lot of talking, and dry mouth is huge, and sometimes sweating (learned to wear T-shirts and dress lighter). Recently decided to take time off because I wonder about long-term effects, but I think after four years I’ve lost many of the natural strategies I developed and was much more all over the place than I remember in university... very frustrating, so I started again. I will always take med breaks, though, because I don’t want to develop tolerance-I also love my many qualities of having ADHD. I’ve read a lot of comments about pains, aches, and emotions-not experienced this in four years... everyone is so different, and what works for some just doesn’t for others."

"Works better than any other stimulant medicine I have tried. I have sensitivity to stimulants; it causes bruxism. The bruxism is absent with a 20 mg dose, and minimal with a 30 mg dose. Other stimulants - I cannot take even the lowest dose without getting the bruxism side effect to the point I can't stand it. Also, I can't 'feel' when it starts working and stops working - which is great. It wears off slowly starting about 7-8 hours after I take it. After 10-11 hours I do not feel it in my system anymore. No insomnia or 'crashing feeling'. Weight loss (okay since I am fat) about 25 lbs in 3 months. My only complaint is it makes me want to smoke. I quit smoking a long time ago. I think about wanting to have a cigarette several times a day."

"My wife has been on this for years. As a husband, I personally hate it. It makes her not be herself. When she comes off of it, she becomes very defensive and aggressive. While it works for focus, it tunes out all else that matters in life. I call the drug a relationship killer. It runs her so her on speed during the day while on it. When she comes down at night and weekends. Stay away. It has taken her to being a completely different person than I know and care about."

"My 9-year-old is doing awesome on this. He only takes 20 mg for 7 months now, and it does just enough to get him through school. No change in his outgoing, sweet, kind personality! He had stomach pain the first week, he said it wasn’t bad - and that’s it! It’s helped him so much!"

"I am 13 years old. I've been on Vyvanse for about 7 years. It really helps me focus and concentrate on things that are important. It also helps me know when and when not to do things, like talk when someone else is talking."
