Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Oh, if there was an 11, I would give Vyvanse this rating, if it was not for one side effect. But I am not 100% sure it is the Vyvanse. I have been having pretty bad chest pains since I started on Vyvanse a couple of months ago. I even went to the ER for an asthma attack. The trouble is, for the last few years (pre-ADHD diagnosis and any meds) I have been slowly growing into adult-onset asthma. So it's tough even for the doctors to tell if it's from the asthma or the Vyvanse! The ER doc said no, Vyvanse shouldn't cause chest pains, so did my psychiatrist (who I trust and really respect). Long story short--I LOVE VYVANSE!! Has given me my life a whole new meaning. I am the best version of myself. My whole entire extended family notices!"

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I've struggled with binge eating and depression my entire life. I'd spend hours trying to convince myself not to binge and then ultimately do it anyway. In the past ten years, I've doubled my weight, my highest being around 260. I've been on Vyvanse for just over a week, and I no longer eat everything in sight or binge. Some days, I have to make myself eat because I don't have any interest. I also have increased energy and feel motivated to do things, which has helped my depression. If I'm not active, however, I do feel anxious. I've already lost 9 lbs, and this drug has given me the push I needed to turn my life around. I did have some side effects with blood pressure and headache, which warrants the 9/10."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "For 23 years, I tried everything to fix my severe BED/bulimia. Diets, OA, therapy, CBT, DBT, Meds, hospitals. Nothing helped. Heard about this and was VERY skeptical, but after years of trying to fix it on my own, actively suicidal, and having daily eating disorder episodes for hours, I decided to try this medication, or else I would kill myself. I started with 30mg and was stunned! The obsession with food was lifted on day 1. I had some side effects but tapered off. I lost weight, however, that is secondary to the fact that I don’t hate myself or want to die anymore. I am now up to 60mg, and if the medication becomes ineffective, my doctor and I will discuss other options then. I’m hoping to build better habits and coping mechanisms so that in 12-18 months, I may not need the medication anymore. This isn't about weight loss. It’s about being free from the obsession with food and the subsequent behaviors that controlled my life. Yes, the medication is expensive, however, it is still less than the money I was spending monthly on binge eating. I feel free now, though the future obviously remains undetermined, and I couldn’t be happier about it."

For Depression "Vyvanse has truly saved my life. 'Typical' antidepressants had no effect on me, but Vyvanse immediately improved my mood, gave me my energy back, granted me impulse control, and stopped my daily suicidal ideation. I seriously cannot live without it. I’m currently on Vyvanse and Wellbutrin to treat my ADHD and MDD. Those drugs combined have put all my symptoms into remission."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "It's a prodrug, so it won't start working right away, which, in turn, encourages me to have better sleep hygiene. Gotta wake up and go to sleep earlier. I take it with Zoloft and BuSpar. Good combo for me."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "Three years ago I had bariatric surgery (gastric sleeve) and lost 130 lbs in just over 12 months. I was pounds less than my surgeon's expected goal of 180 lbs. But, honestly, I continue to have binge episodes. I did, and still do, benefit from the 6 months of pre-surgery lifestyle classes and can still only eat about 6 oz of food per meal, so still have good restriction. I actually do manage my food well about 75% of the time. Mostly I would binge on chocolate, fruit, or cookies (in that order). For a long time, it was just a 'slip', lately, my binges have lasted for 2-4 days. I started Vyvanse just over 3 weeks ago. From the very first day, I was able to follow my intermittent fasting 1,800 calorie maintenance eating plan. I would like to lose another 10 pounds, putting my BMI in the normal range, but have not restricted my calories, so (duh) no weight loss yet. But it feels great to be in control."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I was put on Vyvanse after my doctor diagnosed me with binge-eating disorder. Before this drug, I struggled for 6 years battling this eating disorder and gaining pounds along the way. Almost 2 years later and with the help of this medication, I have lost over 100 pounds. I feel great, this medication should be watched and used properly. My doctor was great about letting me know that it could make me stop eating altogether."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "Been taking Vyvanse for binge eating disorder on and off for 2 years. It is the only thing that's helped me stop bingeing, therapy has never worked. It lifts the mental fog that usually clouds my judgment and leads to a binge, helps me understand my body's 'I'm full' cues, and reduces cravings. Now that I've fully committed to taking it daily, it's even helped me challenge my worst disordered food fears. In the past, when I lost weight, I only ate low-calorie unhealthy foods, but now I have the ability to challenge myself to eat healthy too, without being scared."

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "This medicine is a truly lifesaver. Even with my depression well-treated, I kept physically tired the whole day. I wanted to do things, but my body felt like I spent 3 hours at the gym. 30 mg of it at 6 am changed the whole game. I can go on really motivated the whole day and still get a great night of sleep. NO SIDE EFFECTS besides some stomach cramps in the first days. There's no comparison with other meds I've tried before (Provigil and Focalin). I can finally say that I'm capable of doing anything if I truly want to."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm 51 years old and was skeptical regarding ADD or ADHD. A counselor urged me to get tested. I agreed to do it because all I wanted was help. I no longer cared what the answer was for whatever was wrong. I only cared if it worked. So, I did the test and was told I was 'off the charts' the highest scores they had seen in years of testing. Today I take 120-150 mg of Vyvanse daily and it makes a difference. Nonetheless, even though Vyvanse has been very helpful, I still doubted whether ADHD was 'real.' I couldn't understand why the medicine was so highly regulated. How could anyone get addicted to this stuff I thought? Then I realized people like me don't get high from drugs like this and that's one reason I know it's working and ADHD is real."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I started this medication when I was 45 years old and started back to college. I never excelled in college in my younger years and actually made the Dean's List after taking Vyvanse. I am now almost sixty. I really don't need it other than helping my golf game once in a while. I just wanted to say that it is a great medication for keeping one’s focus, however, I did experience quite a bit of hair loss. I only take 20 mg. I do take breaks on this medication and have noticed that my hair grows much thicker when I am off of it. Just an FYI."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I am on my second month of daily Vyvanse 30 mg for my binge eating disorder. I am happy to say it has been an absolute godsend! I haven’t had a single binge episode. Furthermore, this medication has reduced my appetite to the extent that I feel like I have plenty of space to make healthy choices. I also feel much more able to take an introspective look at my behaviors and what needs to be adjusted in my life in order to maintain health and happiness. Basically, I am using the gift of the time spent on this effective drug to develop healthy habits and learn how to meet my needs properly so that I can one day live just as well without the drug. The only drawback I have noticed is that there is usually some point each day where I notice a feeling of low-level anxiety. Since it’s clearly coming from the medication and it passes quickly, it has been easy to cope with."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I grew up in the 60s when medication was not recommended by doctors. There was no ADHD as a condition and I was misdiagnosed as a daydreamer who forgot things every day. I felt totally alone with a problem that had no name or medication. It wasn't until after military service that I was diagnosed with ADHD but was given a non-stimulant medication and it was a total waste. It wasn't until I got some Adderall and it was eye-opening. I was given Vyvanse by my VA doctor and it's been like night and day. I can focus more and don't miss appointments or lose things. It's been a lifesaver for me."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "Day one. This is the first day in the past two years that I haven't overeaten. I had gastric bypass and lost lots of weight. I thought I was fine. Then I was attacked by a co-worker. It set off massive depression and PTSD. I moved from Hawaii to PA and I can't eat that much, but slider food - chips, bread, eggs, diet soda, and coffee with cream. I don't like sweets. But I eat junk. This is the first day without chips/McDonald's/fries. I have no heart racing, no problem with anxiety, no jitters. I was able to choose a nice low-cal dinner, and no chips...they are my weakness. I am so happy to stop the binge."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I was diagnosed with ADHD and PTSD (resulting in extreme panic attacks) about 7 years ago. I went down the line, starting with antidepressants, then Adderall, and finally, Vyvanse. I had a hard time with Adderall as I felt the jolt after taking it daily, even with XR, and I broke out with these horrible cyst-like pimples. My psychologist had heard of Vyvanse and recommended changing. I started with a low dose of 20mg and finally ended up with 60mg XR daily. It has been a life-changer for me. I take one pill first thing in the morning and that's all she wrote ☺. I haven't had a panic attack since I started them. My Dr. encourages me to go on 'drug holidays' monthly, which keeps me from going up in dosage. I will say, if you go without them longer than about 5 days, there are the side effects of dry mouth and tension headaches which reside by day 3. Good luck, and I do recommend for ADHD!!"

For Depression "I was put on Vyvanse for ADHD, but my doctor had also been trying to control my severe depression as well with different antidepressants. All antidepressants I tried (at least 15) were no greater than a 5 in effectiveness, if rating them. Well, once starting Vyvanse, I noticed a dramatic and positive change in my mood after about a week. I thought that since it helped so quickly, it surely wouldn't be helpful long-term. I was wrong because I have been on Vyvanse for over a year now, and I've not grown tolerant to its antidepressant effects nor its effects for my ADHD. Plus, it has fewer side effects than what I experienced with traditional antidepressants."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "After suffering from various forms of an eating disorder throughout my life, I've been battling binge eating for 4 years, which at times is out of control. I've tried other medications for depression and anxiety, but this is the only drug...the absolute only med that's helped with the binge eating. I am not taking anything else at the time of start & I'm now beginning the second month with only Vyvanse. At first while taking the med, I had no desire to binge eat & I would not have any urge to plan my day around the binging. This was unbelievable as I've been consumed every single day with binge eating. I have to say this med is exactly what I need while I work on the other components of recovery & therapy."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I wouldn't typically give any drug such a high rating, but Vyvanse has truly changed my life with few, if any, side effects. I take 20 mg once a day, and it lasts 12 to 14 hours. It took about 2 weeks of trial and error to find the dosage, but it was very worthwhile. I am happier, less anxious, and significantly more organized than I have ever been. I am a student, and many areas of my life -- academics, social functioning, general health, etc. -- have all improved greatly. The inattentive fog has cleared, and I finally feel able to create the life I want to be living. Better control over my life has also given me back self-esteem and stabilized my moods. I am so grateful."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My daughter is 8 and has tried other medicines for ADHD. I did not like them because of the side effects, she was like a zombie. With Vyvanse, I don't notice a major change in her personality. And she is focusing better in school. Much better grades. I love this medicine because she still acts like my daughter and not some alien."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I just started on 50 mg, only took it 4 times in a week and a half. It starts working in 40 minutes. Recommend having breakfast with it because you lose your metabolism throughout the day. I felt amazing, didn't feel like annoying anyone. I behaved and concentrated, but my side effects were that I got up from bed, got lightheaded, and nearly fainted. My heart was beating so fast at random times, and my breathing increased. Two nights ago, I thought it was the end of my life as my heart was beating so fast I could see it beating, and I was a bit out of breath."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I have been taking Adderall as well as Vyvanse on and off since I was in middle school, I'm 23 now. It seems to me that when I first started taking it, it made me feel like a zombie, but I would focus and work. Then I stopped, and now I have been taking Vyvanse, as you can tell, for a decent amount of time now. I started with 10 mg, then 20 mg, etc. Now I'm at 60 mg, and it seems to finally work. I am focusing and just doing everything right now, lol."

Lisdexamfetamine for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I have suffered from narcolepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, and ADHD all my life. The ONLY thing that has allowed me to feel 'normal' enough to participate in my own life again is Vyvanse. Unfortunately, I have recently moved from AZ to CA, and due to different laws, I have been unable to fill or receive a new prescription in CA (even with all of my doctor's records and recommendations), and I have been severely depressed due to all the old symptoms returning. BUT VYVANSE SAVED MY LIFE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My 8-year-old daughter has been on Vyvanse for almost 2 years. She started on 20 mg a day. She seemed to be doing better as far as focusing, but very emotional. Her doctor decided to up her dose to 30 mg and now 40 mg. The 40 mg also seemed to help at school, her grades went up, and she was able to pay attention. I'm now noticing that my little girl is not the same person. She has become rude, depressed, emotional, getting in trouble, suicidal, and just out of control. Parents really should keep a journal of changing side effects they notice. Needless to say, my daughter is no longer taking this medication and has not yet found one to replace it."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Vyvanse is not like any other ADHD med out there. It is better! A lot better! It does not matter how much Vyvanse you take, your body will not let the amphetamine level go any higher than it can process it. This gives you control. Vyvanse is a spark, it lets you choose what to focus on, rather than make you hyper and euphoric like other ADHD meds do. Why it does not work for some people? Because most people fail to use ADHD meds accordingly! No med is a 'magic bullet.' For those of us who actually have ADHD and have tried absolutely everything (healthy diet, good night's sleep, exercise, multivitamins, etc.), Vyvanse is the 'missing piece to the puzzle!'"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "When I started my treatment with Vyvanse for ADD, it was a blessing: for the first time I felt motivated to do great at school and have better grades because I had never felt so focused and clear-minded in my life, after years of unsuccessful treatments with Ritalin, Concerta, and Adderall. But that's what happens to everyone when they're first introduced to Vyvanse, it fixes your entire life and then suddenly and surprisingly it ruins it in new ways. It's been a little more than a year since I started taking it, and it didn't take much longer for the bad effects of it to hit me: every time I consume this drug, I get depressed, I feel empty and anxious, my head hurts, and I lose all my motivation because the sadness it brings is stronger than any other positive effect it is intended to give its users. I have never been this depressed in my life, and I blame this drug for that, I mostly (if not only) feel this way when I'm on it."
