Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I have a son that has struggled with an attention problem in school since kindergarten. He is now 11 years old. We tried everything not to put him on medication. The homework struggle and impulsiveness became too much for us to handle, and we finally agreed to try something. His doctor told us about a new ADHD medication called Vyvanse. Believe this or not, it was like magic the first day. He was able to get all his work done in class, and went from an A,B,C student to all A's and one B in one quarter. We have the report cards to prove it. The side effects are minimal and for him the 30mg works great. I encourage anyone battling this problem to ask their child's doctor about Vyvanse. It has changed my son's life as well as ours."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I’ve been taking this since starting high school 8-9 years ago. This medication helped me excel at my job. I am able to focus, multitask, and have an overall good mood. I have bad anxiety as well and feel like this helps with that sometimes also. Vyvanse gives me so much energy, but I don't feel a hard crash when it wears off. This will make you lose weight without noticing at first, so it’s important to eat at your normal times even if you are not hungry. For me, I get about 12-14 hours before I’ll feel tired as the medicine wears off. Take it as soon as you wake up to avoid not being able to fall asleep at night. For me, Vyvanse has been great and I don’t plan on changing to anything else."

Lisdexamfetamine for Depression "I’ve been taking Vyvanse for treatment-resistant depression for almost a year now. I don’t have ADHD, btw. I’ve been on a dozen antidepressants, and Vyvanse has outshone them all. I do still take an antidepressant for my anxiety, but my depression is insufficiently treated without the Vyvanse. I haven’t built up a tolerance either. Every aspect of my life is so much better with this med-even my social anxiety and sleep somehow. This was definitely the missing piece. Before the Vyvanse, I hardly had the energy to send a text message. Now I work out in the mornings! I only take 20 mg, but the difference is night and day. Be sure to use the savings card on the manufacturer’s website, even if you have insurance. It can get a little pricey."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I started taking Vyvanse sophomore year of high school, and my grades went up, and I actually became a good student. But I went from 142 lbs to 117 lbs. Not a good medicine if you are not okay with losing weight."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I suffer from both BED and bipolar disorder. Binge eating is a big trigger for my episodes so it affects my life in a huge way. I am not overweight by anyone's standards other than my own, so I have not lost weight on this drug, but this medication has practically saved my life. I refer to it as a miracle drug. Food no longer controls my life. I no longer binge in private so I'm free to eat in public and enjoy food the way it was meant to be enjoyed, with friends and loved ones. I can eat a cookie without eating the entire box. I can eat a scoop of ice cream without devouring the entire carton. I can eat something unhealthy without being depressed and miserable for the entire week because of it."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I have taken Vyvanse for ADHD for 4 years-amazing! 30 mg at 5am and 30 mg at 2pm on my 12-hour shift, never on weekends. I am a 35-year-old otherwise healthy female. Initial weight loss from 140 to 130 but stopped there. Never tired, clear thinking. I have to remember to drink water because my job involves a lot of talking, and dry mouth is huge, and sometimes sweating (learned to wear T-shirts and dress lighter). Recently decided to take time off because I wonder about long-term effects, but I think after four years I’ve lost many of the natural strategies I developed and was much more all over the place than I remember in university... very frustrating, so I started again. I will always take med breaks, though, because I don’t want to develop tolerance-I also love my many qualities of having ADHD. I’ve read a lot of comments about pains, aches, and emotions-not experienced this in four years... everyone is so different, and what works for some just doesn’t for others."

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "My life has absolutely changed. I've been bedridden for years. I missed a day and a half at a very important client meeting because I couldn't move to get out of bed. Vyvanse 40 mg has given me my life back. I can't begin to express my gratitude. Because some doctors are unaware of this study, however, the doctor that took over for my current practitioner wouldn't refill my RX. I only have a few days left and am terrified to go back to my old way of life, or lack thereof. I would highly recommend Vyvanse for chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. I feel so much better!"

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "Update from my April post... The drug is an absolute miracle that's saved me from the out-of-control eating and depression that consumed me every single day. Taking Vyvanse 50 mg helps me to never even think about food and plan binge evenings and weekends. In fact, I never want to eat large or small quantities of really bad foods at all anymore. I've lost all my binge weight! I hope to never go off the med for fear of my eating disorder returning. It is the only thing that's worked for me after years of therapy/treatment. Amazing!"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Works better than any other stimulant medicine I have tried. I have sensitivity to stimulants; it causes bruxism. The bruxism is absent with a 20 mg dose, and minimal with a 30 mg dose. Other stimulants - I cannot take even the lowest dose without getting the bruxism side effect to the point I can't stand it. Also, I can't 'feel' when it starts working and stops working - which is great. It wears off slowly starting about 7-8 hours after I take it. After 10-11 hours I do not feel it in my system anymore. No insomnia or 'crashing feeling'. Weight loss (okay since I am fat) about 25 lbs in 3 months. My only complaint is it makes me want to smoke. I quit smoking a long time ago. I think about wanting to have a cigarette several times a day."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "My doctor put me on Vyvanse for binge eating. My entire day revolved around food, and I would eat everything in sight, then feel guilty and sick to my stomach. I ate when I was not even hungry and could not turn down food. Nothing I tried helped, and over the last two years, it has gotten so much worse. I started with the 50mg dose, and the first day I felt high, but from the second day on, I have not felt like that. I have lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks and no longer think about food all day. I drink a gallon of water a day and make much wiser choices about what I eat now. I do not crave sweets or junk food any longer. I am so glad to be on this medicine because I was at a complete loss about what to do."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My wife has been on this for years. As a husband, I personally hate it. It makes her not be herself. When she comes off of it, she becomes very defensive and aggressive. While it works for focus, it tunes out all else that matters in life. I call the drug a relationship killer. It runs her so her on speed during the day while on it. When she comes down at night and weekends. Stay away. It has taken her to being a completely different person than I know and care about."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My 9-year-old is doing awesome on this. He only takes 20 mg for 7 months now, and it does just enough to get him through school. No change in his outgoing, sweet, kind personality! He had stomach pain the first week, he said it wasn’t bad - and that’s it! It’s helped him so much!"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Incredible. I was on Adderall for over a year. My doctor switched me to Vyvanse four days ago. Since day one, I have felt better than ever. That 'nervous-jittery feeling' (perfect description) as well as anxiety and teeth-grinding that I had while on Adderall is totally gone. I feel 'normal'. I am able to concentrate and focus calmly, and am no longer plagued by excessive energy. I feel healthy, and everyone around me has noticed the positive difference in such a short amount of time."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "I have struggled with BED for years. I have been in therapy and tried many different coping mechanisms. I even tried joining Overeaters Anonymous. Nothing worked. I started to see a psychiatrist who tried me on an antidepressant. While I must admit I did have a general sense of feeling better, I was still binging. I have been on Vyvanse 30mg for about 6 weeks now. I have not binged in those 6 weeks! At first, I did experience headaches, nothing a Tylenol couldn't take care of. The headaches disappeared after a week. I still feel the urge to binge at times, but the Vyvanse along with the coping skills put me back in control. Thanks to this medication, I am in control of my binges and my health."

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I have been living with chronic fatigue for over 9 years now. I have gone to so many different doctors and have been put on so many different kinds of medicines that never worked. I finally was put on Vyvanse 30 mg. I cannot tell you how much this medicine has changed my life for the better. I would have to force myself out of bed in the mornings and come back home after taking the kids to school and tell myself I would just rest for 20 mins and then get up. I would fall back to sleep for hours and could not figure out what was wrong with me. I hated feeling so tired all the time. I've been on Vyvanse now for 1 week and it is a miracle drug for me. I have energy and my life back. I only wish I would have known about this 9 years ago."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "This medication has changed my life. I didn't start taking it until I was 24 years old. I honestly thought it was hopeless trying to figure out my life. I kept failing college courses, struggled with my job, struggled with relationships. I genuinely thought I was stupid. Sounds dramatic, but that's honestly how I felt. I just couldn't think or concentrate. Then I tried Vyvanse. I was really against stimulants or any type of drug that could be addictive. But, I'm SO grateful I tried it. I wouldn't be where I am today without it. I'm a nursing student with a 4.0. I have an amazing relationship, and I enjoy my job. It's not a miracle drug, but it really helps me focus and do the things I know I can do. Definitely recommend it."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "42-year-old male recently diagnosed with ADD (no hyperactivity). Vyvanse is the only medication I've tried and I'm reasonably happy with it. Started 30 mg for 2 weeks. Felt a little jittery and had a funny taste in my mouth. Increased to 70 mg. No longer feel jittery, no funny taste, but my mouth is always dry so I drink a lot of water. Vyvanse seems to help me get more done. I can't say I'm more focused, but I am more motivated, so the end result is more productivity, though not always directed in the best place. It decreased my appetite, so it was easier to switch to a healthier diet. Lost more than 25 lbs. in the first 3 months, which has also helped increase self-esteem, motivation, and energy level."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "Vyvanse has been a lifesaver! I have ADD and suffer from depression and anxiety. I suppose the best thing about Vyvanse is that it greatly helps my depression and anxiety. I have energy to get things done and stay focused. I don’t have all that constantly thinking and worrying going on in my head all the time."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "So I started this Vyvanse for my ADD, and I was trying to lose weight at the time too. Once I first started taking it, I saw an improvement. Before meds at all, I was 184 lb, when I first began Vyvanse, I was 150. Four months later, I am 127. I barely have an appetite, but I always do late at night, I guess when it wears off."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I'm 47 years old never did well in school but managed. My wife has been saying I am ADD and spoke to my doctor about it. After a few months of office visits, I go monthly. He said he's been watching my responses and wrote me Vyvanse 30mg. All I can say is WOW! Finally, everything makes sense. I get things done, no late afternoon crash, it's fantastic! I have social anxiety very bad, and this miracle drug took it all away! I'm on my second month and a higher dose just to 40mg, and it's perfect! I actually hugged my doctor on the following visit and thanked him for finally turning my light switch on! I can't say enough about this miracle drug Vyvanse! Now I can look forward to a new day instead of dreading having to get out of bed!"

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I was utterly shattered and didn't know what to do before I started this drug. I had bone-crushing chronic fatigue and felt I had tried everything. I was so tired for so long I was planning on ending my life. I am on 50mg, and it has made a huge difference. I have very little fatigue now, I still have some problems with anxiety and depression but I always had those. Overall, I am much better on the drug. I had tried other stimulants like Concerta, Ritalin, and Provigil before with little effect. If you are suffering from chronic fatigue, please give lisdexamphetamine a try as it can make a big difference."

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "My 11-year-old son was diagnosed with ADHD 2 months ago. He was failing school (all F's but tested at a high school level). After starting Vyvanse, he now has all A's and two B's. It has helped him to concentrate and work to his ability. This new drug has given him his life back. Side effects were mild, and the life effects were out of this world!"

Lisdexamfetamine for ADHD "I suffered sexual abuse as a kid which led to my PTSD. On top of that, God gifted me with ADHD for entertainment purposes. I have been on Ritalin and Adderall for many years. Two years or so ago, I quit medications altogether because that's what ADHD people do for more entertainment. My job required that I go back on medication, and my MD recommended Vyvanse. I have been on it for 6 months and really like how it helps me concentrate, make me feel good without feeling high. I find that taking medication vacations really helps. I generally don't take it on my weekends. I am hoping that this will help fend off any addiction to the medication. I read a lot about people who say their meds don't work after a while. I know there were times when I felt that way, but I am not a good judge of myself. My wife and my bosses at work all told me I was doing well when I felt as if I were not. Try the weekend vacations and let others be the judge. I truly hope this medication is the miracle I need."

Lisdexamfetamine for Binge Eating Disorder "Binge eating for as long as I can remember. I wasn't really alarmed until I surpassed my highest weight despite being quite athletic, actually, and not morbidly obese. I have been trying to lose the same 10-20 lbs for the past 5 years with no luck. I started investigating and weighing out my options. Vyvanse was the most viable. It checks all the boxes: 1) covered by insurance 2) can be taken short-term and long-term 3) little to no side effects 4) EFFECTIVE. It just works. Now of course, I am starting with the right mindset after so many failures, so I know there is no magic pill. But this is coming close to it."
