Leuprolide for Uterine Fibroids "I have been on Lupron for 4 months, about to have my fifth shot. I have a 10 cm submucosal fibroid which was causing pain, severe bleeding, and anemia. Since starting the Lupron, my migraines increased by double (I had to switch meds so I could go to work). I’ve gained 10 pounds, I have night sweats, hot flashes during the day, my mood gets angry and sad the week after the shot, and now my hair is thinning. I also am still bleeding daily (spotting). I was put on progesterone to offset some of the side effects. I have two more shots until my second surgery, and I can’t wait to be off this medication."

For Precocious Puberty "My son used only 2 doses of leuprolide 11.25 mg in the year 2016. After the first dose, he experienced for 6 months (headache, nausea, 20 pounds weight gain). After the second dose, he experienced shaking hands, seizures (10 days required hospitalization), strong blurred vision and double vision (3 years), frequent seizures that were confused with epilepsy (1 year), balance trouble while walking, muscle weakness, strong muscle pain, myoclonus (4 years up to now). A DAN test was conducted, but no muscular or genetic disease related to symptoms were found. He is still experiencing strong damages from side effects. Leuprolide was stopped after the second dose. The epilepsy diagnosis was dismissed. Not recommended to use in kids or teenagers."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "Tried Lupron Depot every 3 months two times, but severe fatigue, occasional dizziness, and passed out. Side effects were not acceptable to me. Orgovyx + Xtandi is much better. Although, without testosterone: fatigue, no erection, lack of enthusiasm, and weight gain."

For Prostate Cancer "Had a radical prostatectomy in 2009. Discovered to have spread to the spine in 2017 and was told I would be on Lupron till 'the end.' For me, the most telling effect apart from weight gain and hair loss (chest) has been the incredible emotional rollercoaster I have been on! What is especially striking is the fact that memories from 25 years ago and the split from my first wife seem more 'real' to me now than my current state! The pain of those old memories and regrets is exceedingly intense! Very strange!!! In fact, those old emotions became so powerful I sought out a psychiatrist to help me cope. Lorazepam has proven to be a godsend!"

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "I have been on Lupron for 20 months now, and it reduced my PSA from .64 to undetectable. The side effects for me have been hot flashes a couple of times a day, loss of body hair, 20 pounds of weight gain, and complete loss of my sexual function and appetite. I will be going off Lupron when this shot wears off in a couple of months. I have been receiving the 6-month shot. I am 67 years old and have high-risk prostate cancer, have had my prostate removed, and went through 38 rounds of radiation. Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I am a 22-year-old Black woman who started taking this injection in February after undergoing diagnostic surgery for endometriosis. I don't know what stage of endo I'm in, but it has spread to my intestines, liver, ovaries, and bladder. When I was informed about the injection, I read about its effects, so I'm not surprised, but it doesn't make me feel any less miserable. I experience severe hot flashes day and night, weight gain, and a severely decreased libido. Fortunately, I haven't felt any joint pain yet, but I hope I never do. I'm scheduled for the second dose, but I'm on the fence about continuing due to my decreased libido and weight gain. This injection is affecting my self-esteem, but I can't handle being in pain for 13 days every month. Although I still had a period every month, my last one was the worst, with heavy bleeding, extreme bloating, and gastrointestinal pain. If you're informed about this injection, choose to use it wisely."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "The 7 months of treatment I am on, along with 9 weeks of radiation, appears to be working well. My PSA (with stage 3 prostate cancer) went from 7+ to 0.05. That said, I am fighting brain fog, fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of sexual interest, nearly chronic dry cough, general itching, and joint and muscle pain.
