Leuprolide "I was given Lupron depo for my endometriosis. My husband and I had been having issues having a baby. I was supposed to have 3 shots total. After the first shot, it wrecked me. It messed with my bowels, my period was more painful than ever, body pain, insomnia, and extreme fatigue, one night I had to call 911. My skin was burning from the inside out, and my heart started racing to the point where I could barely breathe, and my heart was palpitating. I refused the next 2 shots. Since then, I've continued to have bone and joint pain, fuzziness, I can't retain thoughts or remember simple words. My teeth became really sensitive. It caused nothing but hardship."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I had a very similar experience to Lora C. I was a mess on Lupron and very much not myself. I couldn't control my emotions, I was either dead inside or crying, there was no in-between. My night sweats were awful, and I was mean all the time. The worst part was probably my memory. I had no recollection of anyone's name, I could recognize their face and the fact that I definitely knew them, but never their names if I had met them after I was on Lupron. The shot also hurts like anything, and hot flashes are real. I was consistently warm all the time. Summer was unbearable. Also, the first few months were the worst endo pain I had ever felt. It was terrible. It finally went away after about month 4 or 5, and I was in a normal range of just feeling pressure down there. It wasn't nearly as painful, but always present."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "Started almost a month ago. I just got over my period when I received the injection. I started my menses about a week and a half after the injection. They said this is normal. Overall, pain is a tad worse. The doctors also said that would happen. I'm not giving a full rating on it yet. I haven't been on it long enough. They are trying to shrink a 3-inch abdominal wall endometriosis. I will have to stay on the drug for a year. I've also been prescribed norethindrone. I haven't really had the side effects listed with this drug. Not sure I will later on or not."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "When I took this, it was very painful. The shots messed up my muscles, and my condition got so much worse after the 6-month period. I had to get surgery and lost my first organ. I'm not saying don't try it for endo, but be wary when you do. You're supposed to have more intense symptoms in the first part, but it is supposed to get better. Mine did not, it only got worse."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "I can sure relate to all of these Eligard reviews. She 70, diagnosed about 20 months ago. I don't recall Gleason numbers, PSA was 5.7. I had 28 radiation treatments and started Eligard. Just had the 4th shot and last. Miserable side effects. Body aches, endless peeing, shrunken penis, heart flutter, left arm pain on occasion, massive hot flashes, light-headed. Good part? PSA at .0004."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I just started the Lupron shot, and so far it's helping, but it's also come along with hot flashes, dizziness, prolonged QT heart interval (I already have the heart problem, but it is amplifying it), body pain which is slowly going down, brain fog, insomnia, fatigue, inability to breathe, and is making some of my connective tissue symptoms worse. I'm hoping at least some of these symptoms go away. If they do, I will continue the monthly shots since the endo symptoms are getting better (headache, bowel issues, insane amount of bleeding every month, and debilitating pain)."

Leuprolide "I took this drug when I was 8 years old, to stop my body from going through early puberty. I’m now 19, and I can say this drug has ruined my life. I have extremely severe depression and pain almost everywhere. My thyroid doesn’t produce anymore, I have had a headache almost every day since then, and my joints are in a lot of pain. Please, for the love of God, only take it if it’s your final resort. The only thing positive I can say is that it technically did its job, but for me at least at a severe cost."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "70 yr. old male with Stage 4 Gleason 9 prostate cancer. This hip injection was a changeover from Firmagon since my PSA is .01. I got a 3-month injection in my right hip one month ago and I have never been this sick with unending pain. I can barely walk and/or lift my right leg. It has totally wiped me out both physically and mentally. I contacted my doctor and he said to take ibuprofen when needed. Really? It only helps for a couple of hours before the pain comes back. I have an appointment to see him in two months at which time I will ask him if I can get a different medication that won't keep his active fella down and out. If there's no alternative I will be VERY unhappy."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "Almost as soon as the injection of Lupron Depot 3.75 was administered, I experienced the most horrible night sweats hourly, making sleep impossible, burning palms of hands, raised pulse, and headaches. Two weeks after the injection, I experienced pain in knees, difficulty in crouching, walking up and down stairs, increased pain in joints, hands, and feet."

For Prostate Cancer "I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer-non-metastatic-in July 2019, with a Gleason score of 9, 8, and 7. Began Elegard/Lupron in August 2019, 2 months prior to 45 days of radiation, and have continued on a 4-month regimen of Lupron injections. During the first year on this drug, I had the basic side effects of hot flashes, chills, mood swings, and some aches. Now going into the second year on Lupron, I have severe side effects with a lump on my left knee with severe swelling with overuse; pain in my hips and shoulders that come and go; tingling and numbness in my hands that wake me up at night; ringing in my ears; fatigue; and I have lost the ability to use my right thumb that comes and goes like severe arthritis. I was previously a very calm and caring person, but now I become angry and have high-risk behaviors, not caring if I get into an argument with someone, which I try to control. I used to be an avid runner but cannot do this anymore due to severe pain and swelling in my left leg."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I have been taking Lupron for 4 months now, with about 2 months of that having add back. I am 17 years old and only have one ovary (not sure if this affects my experience at all). I am in hell, I'm constantly missing school. I don't want to get up every day of my life, and I always want to just cry. I wake up in pools of sweat, I get migraines to the point I have blurry vision and see dark spots. I still have pelvic pain (what I was trying to fix), and I am constantly dizzy. I also cannot think and remember correctly anymore. I lost my life."

For Endometriosis "Started this medication 9 months ago for a large endometrioma found during exploratory lap surgery for the pain from this. So far, I've been profusely sweating and fatigued. It was supposed to stop my period, it hasn't. Pain is still there, don't think it's working for me. I have lost over 20 lbs, but it's hard work: diet and exercise. So, it is possible to lose weight on it, or at least not gain. Not rating this high because, for me, the side effects outweigh what might be some relief, not enough to warrant going on it again. I've already had one endometrioma removed many years ago. They don't want to remove this one because it's huge and will leave a large space, might end up with a bad hernia. Would have been nice if they would have figured it out sooner."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I had been suffering for years. Horrible pain, cramps all day and night, and meds NEVER took the severe pain away. The bleeding was excessive. I never had a light day. My period lasted for a month, sometimes almost 2 months. At the age of 15, I was taken to the gyn, which at that time was diagnosed with ovarian cysts and a bad case of endometriosis. Not only were the cysts bad, but the endometriosis had grown all over my ovaries, in my belly button, and was making it hard for me to move my bowels. The doctor politely said, well, you have a bad case here and you need surgery. So I said, ok, well, when? And he said, TOMORROW. So surgery happened, and not even 6 months later, I was having surgery again. I'm 34, and it's all back."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I just had my second shot 6 days ago. I will admit that my pain from the endo is a great deal better than it was. I was a few days late to get my 2nd shot and could feel the symptoms coming back slowly. The side effects are miserable. I don't want to finish out the treatment. Going for a second opinion. Will be trying estradiol today for the hot flashes, which have been the worst, at least 3 an hour, and all night long. Haven't had any weight gain so far, weight loss, probably because I am so paranoid about gaining."
