For Endometriosis "I got a month shot right when I was about to start my period. Period ended up lasting about 12 days. I was told night sweats and menopausal symptoms would happen, but I did NOT expect the suicidal urges (I've been diagnosed with depression, but it was manageable before this shot), migraines - the worst migraines I've ever experienced in my life, nausea, cankles. I've had to take roughly 5 days off work just in the last 3 weeks, and I may even lose my job. I am so irritable and cannot sleep for the life of me. I wake up at least 30 times a night. I'd rather have my excruciating menstrual cramps than go through this ever again. My body did NOT like this AT ALL!"

For Uterine Fibroids "I am on a 3-month shot plan but monthly shots. I didn't want the 3-month all at once because I wanted to see how my body would react to it first. Shot given 12/07/16, and today is 12/28/16. The first week, I didn't really have any side effects, and I was really hopeful that this would be the worst. Wishful thinking didn't last long. Hot flashes, night sweats, chills, emotional wreck, and I believe slight headaches that come and go. BUT, on the contrary, less than a month and my fibroid has already physically shrank. I haven't seen the doc yet, but I can physically see that it shrank. My clothes are loose in the belt line area. My fibroid was the size of a small grapefruit (17 cm), but I really see a huge difference in shrinkage. Could be worse :/"

For Endometriosis "I have severe endometriosis and adenomyosis and am scheduled for a hysterectomy on Jan 29th. My doctor wanted me to get a couple of Lupron injections so that I can have some pain relief as well as experience some of the symptoms I will be dealing with after my surgery. Well, it's been 3 weeks since my first (and LAST) injection. I have night sweats every night as well as a full aching headache all day long. The headache goes away with Tylenol or sleep but is back the very next day. So I'm hoping the headaches stop once this horrible drug is out of my system. Didn't have headaches until I got this injection!!"

For Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after my first laparoscopy in June 2015. Following my first surgery, I started Lupron injections in hopes of slowing the endo growth. I had three rounds of Lupron causing terrible side effects, which included, but were not limited to: fatigue, night sweats, mood swings, joint pain, severe abdominal pain, lack of sex drive, natural lubrication, and anxiety. In December 2015, my second laparoscopy and six months of Lupron left me with stage 3 endometriosis. The doctor wanted to continue with six more months of Lupron and another surgery. I declined such an offer. I am very unhappy with how this drug affected my life. My body will never be the same after Lupron. Don't take this drug."

For Endometriosis "Had my first shot about a week ago. I have major pain in my joints (elbows and knees), hot flashes, and night sweats. But honestly, so far, so good. I am no longer feeling the horrible endometriosis pain. Will update more once I'm further in. Plan as of now is to do 6 months of Lupron and see if my fallopian tubes have less swelling and inflammation, as my husband and I would love a baby of our own. Good luck to all. This is not easy. But I am hoping it will be worth it."

For Endometriosis "I was put on this medication after laparoscopic surgery to remove cysts that were causing me pain. They found out I have stage 2 endo and recommended the Lupron with the acetate pill. The first month was fine, but the second month my period came early and never stopped. I can deal with the hot flashes, but I've currently been bleeding and cramping for 4 weeks, and they just keep telling me to wait it out. I'm due for the second shot in July, and I don't know if it's going to help at all. I am depressed, and the night sweats are a lot to deal with. I would rather have dealt with the endo pain 2 days a month than to have done this."

For Endometriosis "I found Lupron to be effective in treating my symptoms of endometriosis, particularly painful menstruation. Lupron causes one to cease menstruating, which in turn eliminates the pain associated with month-to-month and/or every two to four week menstrual periods. That said, I developed a raised bump at the base of my skull on the back of my neck that itched and hurt. I became dizzy and lightheaded and dealt with short-term memory loss, along with joint pain in my feet, mouth-watering nausea, night sweats, nasal congestion, and acne. The doctor could not give me an answer about the raised bump, and that scared me, so I chose to discontinue treatment."

For Endometriosis "I've been on Lupron twice in 6 years. The first time was 2008, and I didn't experience any symptoms. I was extremely happy about that. Like most of you reading, all the side effects had me a little on edge. The second time my doctor suggested that I get on it (Dec 2014), I agreed with no problem. Hoping that will be the same experience as the first time. Ohhhhhh, but it wasn't. I had hot flashes, night sweats, and weight gain. I couldn't wait until those 6 months were over. Unlike the first time, 3 months off Lupron, my cycle started, and 2 weeks later, two cysts, 7.5 cm. I was devastated and in so much pain, and before you knew it, I was having surgery. I'm 2 days fresh out of the hospital on Lupron again. I pray this time I have a different outcome."

For Endometriosis "I had a very similar experience to Lora C. I was a mess on Lupron and very much not myself. I couldn't control my emotions, I was either dead inside or crying, there was no in-between. My night sweats were awful, and I was mean all the time. The worst part was probably my memory. I had no recollection of anyone's name, I could recognize their face and the fact that I definitely knew them, but never their names if I had met them after I was on Lupron. The shot also hurts like anything, and hot flashes are real. I was consistently warm all the time. Summer was unbearable. Also, the first few months were the worst endo pain I had ever felt. It was terrible. It finally went away after about month 4 or 5, and I was in a normal range of just feeling pressure down there. It wasn't nearly as painful, but always present."

For Uterine Fibroids "I have been on Lupron for 4 months, about to have my fifth shot. I have a 10 cm submucosal fibroid which was causing pain, severe bleeding, and anemia. Since starting the Lupron, my migraines increased by double (I had to switch meds so I could go to work). I’ve gained 10 pounds, I have night sweats, hot flashes during the day, my mood gets angry and sad the week after the shot, and now my hair is thinning. I also am still bleeding daily (spotting). I was put on progesterone to offset some of the side effects. I have two more shots until my second surgery, and I can’t wait to be off this medication."

For Uterine Fibroids "I was having very heavy periods due to fibroids. My GYN gave me the shot, and it was amazing! No more periods! The trade-off I took was night sweats and early onset menopause, but after such heavy bleeding that I have a very low blood count, anemia, and vitamin D deficiency, it was well worth it! I'm only in the last few weeks of my first shot, but I can't wait for the next one!"

For Endometriosis "Got first shot Jan 2012. Side effects: night sweats, hot flashes, headache, and muscle ache all bearable, but hot flashes have interfered with sleep. Just got 2nd shot this week, 4-24-12. Have sore throat and headache, seem to be more agitated and irritable. Hot flashes are a bit worse, and headaches are coming back. Overall, if this is the gist of side effects, all worth it to make sure cancer, if spread, does not come back. Had hysterectomy Nov 2011 and found cancer in uterus. Doctors said it was contained to uterus, but for safety precautions, put me on Lupron."

For Endometriosis "I have stage 4 endo with adenomyosis and large fibroids. I’m currently awaiting my 3rd dose of the Lupron injection. It hasn’t been a bad experience; just body aches, bad hot flashes, and night sweats. No real weight gain, actually lost 6 pounds since I started the injection. After my first injection, I had a minor period, and for my second injection, no period or pain. Coming into the 3rd injection being due, I’m starting to experience endo pain. Think I’m only going to do one round of Lupron."

For Uterine Fibroids "I have had many years of heavy, painful periods. Diagnosed with a bulky uterus (size 16 weeks) with endometriosis and fibroids. My gynecologist recommended Lupron Depot to shrink my uterus before going for laparoscopic hysterectomy. I'm 53 years old. I have had 2 shots now and am going for my 3rd next week. I have had a lot of side effects from this medication: night sweats (not every night, mild), insomnia, no energy, restless legs/muscle spasms, depression (cry every day at least once), and mood swings (my poor family). So next week when I get shot #3, I am hoping that he will have my surgical date booked as I cannot live with the pain and constant bleeding. The shot plus add-back therapy has only given me hope that I will eventually get back to normal and a better quality of life."

For Prostate Cancer "Lupron Depot 22.5. This is the second time in 9 years I have taken this shot. A recent finding of lymph node cancer was noted, so 5 radiation sessions were to be administered. Two times while on the table to begin this radiation, the radiologist could not locate cancer that was present on a PET scan. It seems the Lupron masked the cancer. That is where I am now. Both times on Lupron I had night and day sweats, muscle aches, and a general feeling of weakness. I had a prostatectomy in 2016. I also had renal cancer in both kidneys. One was cryoablated (right) and the other was by partial nephrectomy (1/25). The uro said the renal cancers did not come via prostate."

For Endometriosis "Almost as soon as the injection of Lupron Depot 3.75 was administered, I experienced the most horrible night sweats hourly, making sleep impossible, burning palms of hands, raised pulse, and headaches. Two weeks after the injection, I experienced pain in knees, difficulty in crouching, walking up and down stairs, increased pain in joints, hands, and feet."

For Endometriosis "I just had my 5th shot yesterday. The past few months have been painless in regard to side effects other than night sweats and mood swings. I have not gained any weight, and everything seems pretty normal. Once again, other than the mood swings. These are harsh, and sometimes I feel like another person has taken over my body and thoughts."
