Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I've received my first round in June 2015. Almost immediately, I started experiencing side effects. Headaches, weight gain, hot flashes, constant sweating, mood swings, made my depression worse, now swollen legs and ankles, also severe joint pain. This is becoming unbearable, and I'm rethinking doing the next cycle. It's helped with my endometriosis, which I'm happy about, but these side effects are a...."

Leuprolide "I started Lupron for PMDD five months ago, fully expecting many terrible side effects. For some women with PMDD, it doesn't work right away, so I didn't expect it to. But within a day, I felt better. Then, I felt perfectly calm, level-headed, content, clear-headed... just normal. I feel this way for three weeks, and then symptoms of PMDD reappear, suddenly, without correlating with life circumstances. I inject Lupron, and within a day I am A+. Once, I felt particularly awful at three weeks, took Lupron, and immediately forgot I got the injection. I was surprised that within two hours I felt transformed. My partner had to remind me that I had the injection two hours previous. I did experience horrible hot flashes and joint pain, but this went away with estrogen patches. Without Lupron or surgery, I would have committed suicide."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "This drug should be taken off the market. It kills your immune system, and the side effects never wear off. I had three injections in 2002 and am still suffering from what has happened to my body. The joint pain and hot flashes are unbearable. This medication has robbed me of enjoyment of life. Its only purpose is money for Big Pharma and ease of surgery for the doctor. No benefit to the patient at all. Do not take this, it will ruin your life."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after my first laparoscopy in June 2015. Following my first surgery, I started Lupron injections in hopes of slowing the endo growth. I had three rounds of Lupron causing terrible side effects, which included, but were not limited to: fatigue, night sweats, mood swings, joint pain, severe abdominal pain, lack of sex drive, natural lubrication, and anxiety. In December 2015, my second laparoscopy and six months of Lupron left me with stage 3 endometriosis. The doctor wanted to continue with six more months of Lupron and another surgery. I declined such an offer. I am very unhappy with how this drug affected my life. My body will never be the same after Lupron. Don't take this drug."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "I found Lupron to be effective in treating my symptoms of endometriosis, particularly painful menstruation. Lupron causes one to cease menstruating, which in turn eliminates the pain associated with month-to-month and/or every two to four week menstrual periods. That said, I developed a raised bump at the base of my skull on the back of my neck that itched and hurt. I became dizzy and lightheaded and dealt with short-term memory loss, along with joint pain in my feet, mouth-watering nausea, night sweats, nasal congestion, and acne. The doctor could not give me an answer about the raised bump, and that scared me, so I chose to discontinue treatment."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "Within one week of starting Depot Lupron, I was struck with severe headaches and fatigue. Muscle and joint pain set in, and sleep became impossible. I have had no relief from my endometriosis pain. Pelvic pain is daily and constant. Dull aches in my lower abdomen and sharp shooting pain through my colon. Even with add-back therapy, I have had hot flashes and severe waves of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I wish I had never gotten it. This is the second time my doctor has put me on this 'medication' with zero results or relief from my symptoms. I only feel worse. It has made me and my relationship suffer. It's not worth it."

Leuprolide "I was given Lupron depo for my endometriosis. My husband and I had been having issues having a baby. I was supposed to have 3 shots total. After the first shot, it wrecked me. It messed with my bowels, my period was more painful than ever, body pain, insomnia, and extreme fatigue, one night I had to call 911. My skin was burning from the inside out, and my heart started racing to the point where I could barely breathe, and my heart was palpitating. I refused the next 2 shots. Since then, I've continued to have bone and joint pain, fuzziness, I can't retain thoughts or remember simple words. My teeth became really sensitive. It caused nothing but hardship."

Leuprolide "I took this drug when I was 8 years old, to stop my body from going through early puberty. I’m now 19, and I can say this drug has ruined my life. I have extremely severe depression and pain almost everywhere. My thyroid doesn’t produce anymore, I have had a headache almost every day since then, and my joints are in a lot of pain. Please, for the love of God, only take it if it’s your final resort. The only thing positive I can say is that it technically did its job, but for me at least at a severe cost."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "Some hot flashes for short periods when thinking hard and only for maybe 2 or 3 minutes. Zero sex drive. Maybe joint pain. Maybe less energy. PSA at 0.25 after 3 or 4 months. There is some merit in not wanting to have sex often for that has been cured."

For Endometriosis "I have severe PMDD and have experienced debilitating symptoms directly associated with my cycle for the last 15 years, with the last 5 being to the extreme. The pain I experience for two weeks out of the month was unbearable, and the rage was uncontrollable. Finally, I found a gynecologist who specializes in PMDD, and she suggested we give this shot a try for 1 month. I'm getting ready to head into my second month. For the first time in 5 years, I went through this whole month with absolutely no downtime, no rage, no crying, no shame, no apologies. I stayed my true self the whole month. This is a major improvement. I had some very mild anxiety, joint pains, lower back pain, and stomach cramping. I'm so relieved that I found a way to get my life back."

For Endometriosis "I am a female, and it's been just two months since my injection. I have missed my periods, and I am having heat flashes, mostly when I sleep, drinking a lot of water, and I am having back pain and joint pain. My tummy is big. My question is this: how long until my period comes back? And how long until these symptoms go away?"

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "The worst effect (in combination with Zytega and prednisone) is numbness of the feet and ankles, and intense tingling of legs. Both effects make sleeping nearly impossible. Also, weakness, muscle and joint pain, and atrophy of testicles. I take two Zytega tablets and one prednisone tablet daily. My PSA is consistently less than 0.04, which I believe is the detection limit. I have been taking these meds for 9 months post-surgery and radiation."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "Just got my second 1-month Depot shot yesterday. I can't say I like it, but it's also not terrible. I have had hot flashes at night or sometimes during the day. I wake up more often at night, usually because of hot flashes or sweating. I am not used to feeling warm, I rather feel cold quickly. Kind of nice to feel warm actually. Definitely not horrible. Didn't gain any weight so far, had definite some sugar and carb cravings, but switched to a sugar-free, low-carb diet and feel much better on it. Also, working out daily helps. I've had one real breakdown moment a couple of weeks ago, but I am also in a difficult life-changing situation, so I wouldn't completely blame it on the drug. However, that was one day, and then I was feeling okay again. I've had joint pain in my elbows and a few headaches (I never have headaches), and I feel vaginal dryness. Definitely felt increased libido the first two weeks. All in all, not too bad. No idea if it's working yet, but I'm hopeful and would do it again."

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "Almost as soon as the injection of Lupron Depot 3.75 was administered, I experienced the most horrible night sweats hourly, making sleep impossible, burning palms of hands, raised pulse, and headaches. Two weeks after the injection, I experienced pain in knees, difficulty in crouching, walking up and down stairs, increased pain in joints, hands, and feet."

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "The 7 months of treatment I am on, along with 9 weeks of radiation, appears to be working well. My PSA (with stage 3 prostate cancer) went from 7+ to 0.05. That said, I am fighting brain fog, fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of sexual interest, nearly chronic dry cough, general itching, and joint and muscle pain. Looking forward to the product wearing off starting around 6 weeks from now. Strongly recommend resistance exercise, it helps a great deal!"

Leuprolide for Endometriosis "My endometriosis pain did go away with the Lupron! However, I had major side effects! Swollen eyelids, nausea, exhaustion, joint pain, headaches, and my last symptom was hip bursitis, which I then stopped Lupron! Three months later, my endometriosis pain is back, and now I have hip bursitis in both hips! Climbing upstairs is agony for me! Between my knee pain and hip bursitis, my legs feel like they are going to give out completely! I’m praying this isn’t permanent for me!"

Leuprolide for Prostate Cancer "I was diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer. I opted for complete removal of the prostate and follow-up treatment of ADT and radiation treatment. My first injection was June 2023, and the second was January 2024. PSA test every three months since the first injection, and PSA was 0.00. I experienced many of the normal side effects from the Lupron injections, the worst has been the fatigue, joint pain, sweats, and hot flashes. It has been almost a year since my last injection. I still have some lingering side effects, with the worst and most often the sweats and hot flashes."
