"Started this medication 7 days ago. Unfortunately, had to discontinue the medication today. After ending up in the ER with tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), and dangerously low blood pressure, my doctor and I decided it needs to be stopped. The first 3 days I had slight symptoms, just a little tired and sick to my stomach. Going into the fourth day, I began waking up out of my sleep feeling like my body was heating up. And as if I had consumed a mass amount of steroids or something. Very anxious, blurred vision, dizzy, nausea, indigestion, extreme head rush, pins and needles, numbness, and random pains all over. I was so excited to finally get approved for this medication. Now I will have to most likely fight my insurance for an alternative medicine. This is the worst reaction I have ever had to medication. I hope I can get on a different one with not so intense and dangerous side effects. I wish everyone with minimal symptoms good luck!"

"I started Mavyret 1 month ago. My Dr. wanted labs at 3 weeks, which I thought was strange, but whatever. I saw her Friday, and I am so happy to say at only 3 weeks the virus is undetectable!! I still have 5 weeks of treatment, and that's fine with me because I actually love the side effects. I have a cup of Greek yogurt or rice pudding in the morning before I take it, so no upset belly. Thank you to the inventors of Mavyret!!"

"I've shared before when I first started back in July. The medication worked amazingly. I was so afraid I wouldn't get an undetected after the 60-day treatment. The day came, and I was still detectable. The doctor said your blood work shows it worked for you, my numbers dropped to almost zero viral load. I was told even though the Mavyret was done, to come back for another blood test in 30 days. It probably will come back undetected. I said how, the medication is gone. She said because with this new medication, it seems to continue to work with the genotype 3. I was unsure and afraid I'd need to start another round of a different medication. I didn't. It came back undetected. Moral of the story: If this medication is taken properly, you are clearing but not to undetectable status, do not fear. After you're done, for a month, it still is working. Zero side effects too. Simply amazing. Blessed. Good luck."

"The side effects didn’t start until the third week. It started with diarrhea and acid reflux. Then I started feeling joint pain in my neck, shoulders, and hip. The side effects became so severe that I called the prescribing doctor and was told that it could not be the drug. It was just coincidence. I had to stop taking the medicine at six weeks, and now I’m unable to walk, still one month after stopping."

"I'm Hep C free after a 12-week dose, and I'm done on the 31st of March. I will be celebrating this passage of time. Didn't think I was gonna be a survivor, but by the grace of God, and his trusted physicians, and finally, my health insurance, they have given me my life back. I did struggle through the treatment, but it's all worth it in the end. Thank you to AbbVie for creating the medication that saved me. I send my good wishes to all who struggle with affording this drug and any other drugs that are lifesavers."

"I'm on my 2nd day of my 4th week. Due to some side effects, I had my blood draw after 13 days, and every one of my liver functions was normal! The virus was detectable, yet barely! After 13 days, the side effects are a mixture of the Mavyret and my own body chemistry. I work with a researcher from San Francisco, and she said she's never seen a patient respond so quickly. Now my side effects are only sleeping a lot and brain fog. I feel so grateful, and December 28th will have more labs and will report to everyone here. Soon, I will be Hep C free, I am so excited. Please take this medication, the side effects are not that bad at all! Especially when you look at the interferon cocktail, which I never took. I have had this virus for 18 years, no cirrhosis, and my numbers were always high. Now, after 13 days, when I had labs, all is normal. I am being healed and want to share, you feel okay! Much love to all."

"I'm on my last two weeks of taking Mavyret on an 8-week treatment. I have been feeling palpitations. Also, very tired and chills at night. The palpitations get me very nervous. I had an EKG and blood work to check my heart enzymes, everything came out okay. These palpitations started around my 4th week of treatment. But gotta keep going."

"I must say that I am thankful for finding this forum! To be able to talk about it and share is such a huge relief! I am finishing up 5 weeks this Thursday. I too experienced the slight pressure headaches, nausea, vomiting, sleeping about 3 hours, waking up and after a bit I am able to lay back down and sleep another 3 or so, dehydration, very weak and tired, very dry cough, hard time breathing, flatulence, etc. After reading your reviews, I determined that it could have been other meds. And I don't experience these symptoms all the time. I am very thankful to God for the inventor, for guidance to get it and use it! I just know in my heart, it's the cure! As said in other reviews, don't give up and don't quit trying! I will update when I am able, for sure the end results!"

"I start my final 8th week tomorrow. I also had the pleasure of experiencing the old ribavirin and interferon in 2007 following an unwanted transfusion in 1999. Anyway, enough history! I must say this treatment is a far better experience than the former. I have had come and go expected symptoms from the beginning. One thing I find different is I have severe light sensitivity with my headaches. And as I get closer to the finish line, the common symptoms seem to be worse, not better. I am pretty much a couch potato with very little energy. Nausea and urgent diarrhea that prevent me from going too far from home! I am undetectable at 4 weeks. I hope you all have success in the cure. Bear in mind, you CAN be reinfected, and even with a <1% chance, you can contract it from a hep C+ partner! Sincerely, the most unlucky person on Earth! Oh yes, I have the worst heartburn ever, and eating food feels like I ate rocks! No appetite."

"I've just completed my first month of Mavyret, and unfortunately, I have had severe nausea every day of the treatment to the point where I can't even get out of bed. Hoping it does the trick because I wouldn't want to go through this again. Other symptoms are tiredness and fatigue, with a little bit of brain fog. No headaches. Thanks, everyone, for posting, pleased I'm not the only one suffering."

"This is my second week on Mavyret, and I am truly grateful for this medication, and it was not easy to get. I went to Planet Fitness and was completely fatigued after 11 minutes of cardio. Dizzy. The last few days have been hard to walk my dogs very far or do hiking or much of anything. Lethargic and weird. Luckily, I'm self-employed, but still, it's very different than I've ever felt."

"Today is day one of treatment, so really can't rate meds yet, but have heard great things! Have had Hep C for 20 plus years. Did interferon/ribavirin treatment 15 years ago and completed 11 1/2 months of treatment. When done, had 0 viral load, but Hep C returned. It was BRUTAL treatment! Now liver is F3 level, so Mavyret is a GODSEND. Never forgot how bad the last treatment was! 1st injection had 104° temp within 4 hours, thought I was going to die. Anyway, no side effects after 4 hours of Mavyret, so already feel positive about treatment. Will post again after 4 weeks and when done. God bless all from Mavyret!"

"I began Mavyret 3 days ago, and last night I began to experience severe chest pains, couldn't breathe, and numbness in my body. I went to the emergency room, and they said everything was okay, but my INR was way too high, and today I'm experiencing slight chest pains and tightness in my neck and feeling like I can't breathe. My face and neck are blood red, but BP is good, so anybody experiencing any of this, and if so, please let me know."

"I am on my last 4 days out of 8 weeks taking Mavyret. The 1st two weeks were easy, as I had no side effects. After week two, I noticed I had diarrhea every morning. That subsided after about 3 weeks, and now I just feel very sleepy. The mornings are hard, as I have no energy, and I have been having achiness in my legs and feet. I also have slight headaches."

"I'll be starting my 2nd week of Mavyret tomorrow. I became extremely itchy the day after my 1st dose and can get no relief using creams and antihistamines, although aloe vera gel helps soothe it temporarily. It's not hives, though, since there are no marks on my skin. I got Hep C from a blood transfusion in 1968 but wasn't diagnosed until 2002. My doctor wants me to take Mavyret for 12 weeks, probably because I've had Hep C so long. I'm looking forward to being cured."

"I'm on day 6 of my Mavyret treatment. Side effects have been noticeable, the biggest one I'm having issues with is a mind fog. It's hard to explain. I'll be in the middle of doing something and completely forget what it is I'm doing. I find myself staring blankly into space, forgetting the names of objects, etc. Doctors want to see me Monday, let's hope all is well."

"Took Mavyret in 2017-2018. It definitely made me nauseous, but nothing too bad. It's probably mainly due to the giant pills. Eat it with a big dinner, that seemed to help. It's all worth it because it works. I didn't get follow-up blood work until recently (no good excuse) because my liver levels always came back normal, so I assumed I was clear (please don't do this, still, I was very careful). But found out I am completely cured thanks to Mavyret, and that makes the side effects and giant pills worth it (9/10 just because of those things)."

"Thank you for all of your most helpful comments; they have been priceless in setting my routine and understanding the effects of Mavyret! I have had chronic hep C for 30+ years - type 1 - with liver damage; 12 week treatment; waited many years for this treatment due to the poor results and side effects of earlier treatment regimens; day 8 and taking after dinner so as to not affect work; dehydration is real - drink up! Most disconcerting has been the odd time waking up after a few hours of sleep with a strange pressure headache - drinking water immediately seems to work for me - only lasts a couple of minutes - some wild dreaming - the other side effects are present, such as tiredness later in the day, but it is okay so far. It is early days, but I'm quite excited, but anxious also; I'm just going to take it one day at a time! Thanks again, and here is to all of us looking to the future! Cheers."

"Labs are back. Hep-C non-detect after 12 weeks of treatment. Liver test all in normal range. Next blood test in 2 months 1-29-2019 (3 months after the end of the 12-week treatment.) Hopefully, non-detect of Hep-C will mean the treatment was successful. I am so happy to be free of Hep-C. I feel great! Mavyret worked for me with very little side effects. Good luck to everyone on it or thinking about getting on it."

"I completed 8 weeks of Mavyret on 6/26/24. Two weeks prior, I began feeling so tired. I completed my 30-day blood work, which showed my numbers significantly decreased to greater than twelve, and my Physician said that in 3 months when I repeat my blood work, I will be completely cured. Now, 2 weeks after finishing Mavyret, I find myself very depressed, tired, crying, anxious, with brain fog. I did routine blood work with my family physician, and my blood work is abnormal. It shows my lymph absolute is high among other things. I am very sensitive to drugs. I hope and pray that Mavyret has cured my Hep C and not caused me any other harm. I question why my blood work changed, as prior to Mavyret, I had none of these issues. I am concerned about the effects. I hope I didn't make a wrong decision. I just want my happiness back. Please do your research. Reviews on this site showed that I'm not alone."

"I was genotype 1 and finished my last 12-week dose of Mavyret on July 5th, 2018. It worked great but felt really tired all the time and have gained 30 lbs. I still don't have very much energy and want to eat a lot. I am normally not like this, used to walk a lot and was full of energy. Hope I can get back to that. I will get checked again in October for my 3-month checkup."

"Days 1 and 2 were great - I felt like I had taken an anti-anxiety medication, slightly euphoric even, yet able to sleep very well. Day 3, this euphoric feeling became too much, and I literally lost it. I never felt like this before, but I was having impulses and urges and coming close to dissociating. It created extreme hunger, which made me feel angry. It was an 8-hour-long high anxiety, panic attack but worse. None of this is usual or normal for me. So I had to stop at day 3 :("

"I have been on for a week and 2 days. I get minor headaches, but I start to drink water when it happens, and it goes away quickly. As the days go on, I am getting more and more tired. I just feel weak and have zero motivation to do anything. I can't think straight-my thoughts just feel very cloudy (like I've taken steroids). I'm feeling too weak to do anything besides laying around, which has me feeling depressed. Feeling so tired and not being able to think straight makes me not want to be around anyone, which makes my social anxiety worse. I am really hoping that I start feeling better as the days come. I am truly grateful for the chance to try this medicine, and I am by no means complaining. I am just expressing how I feel. I've been struggling with Hep C since 2006 and am so thankful it is nothing like the Interferon treatment because that was so awful."

"On my 6th week. Just got a call from my nurse that so far, virus undetectable. The drug is doing its job. Doing a happy dance...even though side effects have been kind of heavy. I have felt the drug coursing through my veins and tissues. It kind of grips you as time goes on. I have experienced insomnia, minor headache, dehydration no matter how much water I drink, and some emotional problems due to impatience with not being able to sleep as well. Strange thoughts/dreams, inability to cope at work under stress. Fatigue, heart palpitations. I know this is way better than the older treatments akin to chemotherapy. When you start Mavyret, it is good to have patient supportive people and friends around you. Try to stay positive. I am grateful for the opportunity to get this treatment to kill the bug. I had a large viral load, but Mavy is working and I think I can endure 2 months of uncomfortable for a new start in life...a lifetime without a bug eating my liver. Happy dance!"

"So, I am checking back in. Most important thing. If you can receive Mavyret, do it! I had a tinge of a small headache. After 5 days, every single day got better. Not even one headache. Didn't even feel punishable. Gained weight. So what... Regained this energy, I had no idea how or why that happened. Fast forward 6 weeks. I was at a 6.9 million viral load. Results came today. Zero viral load. All results MINUS. ALT and AST numbers drastically changed. I feel so blessed! If you get side effects and have the ability to give any side effects to Mavyret, please take the time to do it. It goes privately into a database and is used to help others. I gave this a ten. Please do it. If you can, you should. Amazing outcome, amazing results, amazing life!"
