"I take Fosfomycin packets twice a week. It was prescribed by my infectious disease specialist after all else failed. I have had UTIs for many years. Hiprex failed to control the infections after working for about three years. When this happened, numerous specialists put me on many different antibiotics with no success. After much research, I feel I have a Chronic Embedded UTI which has made a permanent home in the walls of the bladder. From what I read, there is no cure, only controlling the infection is possible. So far, Fosfomycin Packets have worked to do this, but only after adding a one-time prescription for five days of Levaquin, one 750mg pill a day, while continuing with the Fosfomycin Packets. I rate Fosfomycin Packets a ten because it has done its job so far. It's easy to take too."

"I have taken this antibiotic several times, always one dose at night without going to the toilet the whole night to 'let it work' in the bladder for a longer time. It does its job immediately. However, the amount of stomach and gut pain afterwards, followed by diarrhea, is immense. Crazy strong antibiotic. I need at least 2 weeks to recover a little bit from the pain and issues this causes. Imagine the damage it makes long-term. Be cautious, only take if last option."

"I love this medication! I have recurrent UTIs. At least 7 per year. I just came down with a terrible UTI 3 weeks ago and I was prescribed Bactrim, and gave a urine sample before I started taking it. 3 days later, the doctor called and said my culture came back as an E. coli infection and was resistant to Bactrim and susceptible to Macrobid (note: just because an antibiotic didn’t work for one of your bladder infections doesn’t mean it’s a bad medication, or that it doesn’t work! Make sure you get a urine test as there are so many species of bacteria, not every med treats all). I took Macrobid for one week and while it helped, my infection didn’t clear. So they gave me fosfomycin to take on an empty stomach. It tasted good lol, and it began working within the hour. I am on day 3 and feeling great. No stomach pains, no diarrhea, no side effects at all, just relief."

"My doctor prescribed this for a potential UTI (frequent urination and trace of blood in pee). Seemed easy, one packet and done, so I thought. Took it late in the day on Tuesday, and by Wednesday I started to have pain in my stomach and then nausea and diarrhea. By Thursday into Friday, it was more frequent, and then began the rash on my skin-very intense itchy spots and then welts. By Friday night, I started to have excruciating lower back pain, and then Saturday it was all the above and added in groin pain. I feel awful. Going to the doctor tomorrow. I feel so horrible and still have urgency."
