For Bladder Infection "I first tried this back in Oct/Nov last year after having a nasty UTI caused by E. coli. I took it and it worked amazing. I was given trimethoprim on Friday as the doctor suspected a possible UTI as there was blood in my urine. Anyway, on Sunday they made me feel really awful, so I spoke to the doctor yesterday who prescribed this. Some of the symptoms have gone, but I'm still getting burning. However, I'm thinking it might be thrush as there's slight itching as well. I had mild diarrhea this morning, so I'm not sure which antibiotic caused it."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "I have Schmidt's syndrome, a severe, rare autoimmune collection of diseases, so I get infections too often. This did not work at all for me. I am sitting in the doctor's right now, waiting for a different prescription. Very disappointing, as now I am sicker than yesterday instead of starting to feel better."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "I suffered from UTI for the last month, and then my doctor prescribed me this medicine, Monurol, and I took it as prescribed with some extra medicine and syrup going on for 10 days. After 10 days, the symptoms again irritated me, and no improvement in the matter was noticed. I was very disappointed."

For Bladder Infection "I have taken this 3 times, and it has not worked any of those times. Symptoms continued to get worse, and another medication was needed. I have had UTIs since I was 18 and am not new to the medications, but I had never been given this one until this year (2021). Not sure why all of the sudden this is the medication of choice, but in my opinion, this one does not work."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "This is about the fourth time I have used Monurol. Started fine and couldn’t believe how quickly it worked. I now find whenever I take Monurol, I suffer from stomach pain and bloating about 2 weeks after. I am not only having that problem, but now pain in my right kidney and waking up nightly with it. Don’t know what I will do next, as I have found antibiotics in the past have made me ill."

For Bladder Infection "If I had read all the stuff on here before taking it, I probably never would have, I’m so glad I did not. Amazing!! No side effects. The only thing I would suggest is get a culture done first, not just the dipstick test. I show up negative every time with the dipstick test, but positive with culture. Plus, a culture will let you know what antibiotics your UTI is sensitive to. Also, try D-mannose and lots of water. Just flush that nastiness out!! This is my go-to, but everyone is different. We need to get the vaccine here in America."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I love this medication! I have recurrent UTIs. At least 7 per year. I just came down with a terrible UTI 3 weeks ago and I was prescribed Bactrim, and gave a urine sample before I started taking it. 3 days later, the doctor called and said my culture came back as an E. coli infection and was resistant to Bactrim and susceptible to Macrobid (note: just because an antibiotic didn’t work for one of your bladder infections doesn’t mean it’s a bad medication, or that it doesn’t work! Make sure you get a urine test as there are so many species of bacteria, not every med treats all). I took Macrobid for one week and while it helped, my infection didn’t clear. So they gave me fosfomycin to take on an empty stomach. It tasted good lol, and it began working within the hour. I am on day 3 and feeling great. No stomach pains, no diarrhea, no side effects at all, just relief."

For Bladder Infection "This is the only drug left that will stop my recurrent UTIs. I have grown immune or have side effects from all other drugs used to treat this condition. It has a pleasant orange taste (reminds me of Tang) and dissolves easily in water. The only problem I have with it is that because you take it every other day for three days, it’s hard to remember to take it unless you write the days down that you need to take it."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Will not take Monurol again. Side effects: 4 days of heavy diarrhea, bloating, mild nausea, acid stomach. First time for an infection, it went away, but side effects of the drug were horrible for me."
