Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Do not take this drug! Took it while in Singapore, single dose, as I thought it would be easier than a 5-day course. I have been so ill with diarrhea after every meal, nausea, and stomach cramps. This is my 5th day and still not well. I have no appetite and exhausted."

For Bladder Infection "Used orally for UTI, and all the side effects just started to appear day by day, and instead of becoming healthy, I deteriorated. Diarrhea, abdominal and back pain, nausea, chest pain, dysuria, sleeplessness just started to aggregate, and now I am in the most miserable condition. Won't recommend at all."

For Bladder Infection "I've had this drug twice before for UTI, and it worked fine. This time, however, is a different experience. I guess it worked for the infection, but through the night (day and a half after taking it), I started getting a very bad headache. I got up at 7:30 am with a migraine and feeling nauseated. I did end up vomiting. I've been in and out of consciousness all day today with this headache and feeling so ill. I can't even explain it. Stools are looser. I feel absolutely horrible. I won't be taking this drug ever again."

For Bladder Infection "I was prescribed this because the walk-in doc thought I had a UTI (it was actually an allergy to pads). In the end, it was $32 spent to get a week of misery. Started getting a yeast infection two days later, which is to be expected with antibiotics. Thought nothing of it. The next day, I started feeling nauseous but didn’t vomit. Still thought it was a one-off deal. Then the nausea wouldn’t stop, and I couldn’t get down two bites of food without gagging. Went to the ER and had to get blood work and an ultrasound to make sure nothing else was causing the prolonged nausea. Finally relieved to get my appetite back a week later, good grief."

For Bladder Infection "I took it Friday night because it was stinging when I pee. By Saturday morning, the sting was gone. But by Saturday evening, 24 hours after I took this, I had the worst nausea and vomiting I've experienced in my life! For about 5 days after I took this, I was okay. No stinging when I pee, but my pelvic area hurts. I ignored it because I knew I already took medication. A week after I took my first Monurol, the UTI came back and it's worse! I now have to take a new medication. Just hoping this new one will work now."

For Bladder Infection "Took this for a mild bladder infection and initially felt improved. But then stomach cramps, abdominal discomfort to the point of serious pain, nausea-literally kept getting new symptoms and feeling worse and worse. And I’ve still got the bladder symptoms. Would never recommend this."

For Bladder Infection "After 9 days of cystitis, I went to the doctor and was prescribed fosfomycin. I was told to take 2 doses over 2 days. 1st dose, and I woke up feeling totally exhausted with limbs like cement and my head like a lead balloon. My memory was impaired too. But it had improved my symptoms, and my urine had cleared. I felt reluctant to take the second but thought, well, only one more. Big mistake. My head is tingly and feels like my brain is being squeezed. I feel faint and dizzy. Nauseous. My arms and legs are tingly. I dread to think how I will feel in the morning. It's now after 2 am, and I am staying up to drink lots in the hope I can 'flush' this out of my body. But having done the research (I know, after the fact), it seems it should only have been 1 dose, and the damn stuff stays in your system for 36+ hours! I think, probably, the younger patients would suffer fewer symptoms, and it does seem to be a miracle cure for some."

Fosfomycin "Works great, almost gets rid of my UTI symptoms immediately. Way better than taking the pills for two weeks. Sometimes it makes me a bit nauseous, but that goes away after some hours. Other than that, it’s magic!"

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Will not take Monurol again. Side effects: 4 days of heavy diarrhea, bloating, mild nausea, acid stomach. First time for an infection, it went away, but side effects of the drug were horrible for me."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Stopped the pain within a couple of hours, but had runny bowel for a week and a sick stomach, including vomiting and lack of appetite. Wouldn't take it again."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Awful, did not help, still suffering side effects, nausea, back and stomach pain, loose bowel. It has set me right back. I am not over side effects, and it has been 8 days."

For Urinary Tract Infection "My doctor prescribed this for a potential UTI (frequent urination and trace of blood in pee). Seemed easy, one packet and done, so I thought. Took it late in the day on Tuesday, and by Wednesday I started to have pain in my stomach and then nausea and diarrhea. By Thursday into Friday, it was more frequent, and then began the rash on my skin-very intense itchy spots and then welts. By Friday night, I started to have excruciating lower back pain, and then Saturday it was all the above and added in groin pain. I feel awful. Going to the doctor tomorrow. I feel so horrible and still have urgency."
