For Urinary Tract Infection "I have taken this antibiotic several times, always one dose at night without going to the toilet the whole night to 'let it work' in the bladder for a longer time. It does its job immediately. However, the amount of stomach and gut pain afterwards, followed by diarrhea, is immense. Crazy strong antibiotic. I need at least 2 weeks to recover a little bit from the pain and issues this causes. Imagine the damage it makes long-term. Be cautious, only take if last option."

For Bladder Infection "I was so excited to get a one-dose instead of a 7-day antibiotic. I took it on Friday around 11:30 a.m., and within an hour, I had these terrible stomach pains that lasted around 6 hours. Then they were on and off and went away by the time I went to bed. Then I woke up in the middle of the night with back pain, on the right side just above my butt. This dull, aching feeling I’ve never had before. Still dealing with it on Sunday. Also had some diarrhea that lasted all Saturday. I’ve felt miserable on this. Hoping this UTI hasn’t moved to the kidneys now. Burning urine and UTI pain seem to have passed, but with the side effects… this is NOT worth it."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "This is about the fourth time I have used Monurol. Started fine and couldn’t believe how quickly it worked. I now find whenever I take Monurol, I suffer from stomach pain and bloating about 2 weeks after. I am not only having that problem, but now pain in my right kidney and waking up nightly with it. Don’t know what I will do next, as I have found antibiotics in the past have made me ill."

Fosfomycin for Bladder Infection "Awful, did not help, still suffering side effects, nausea, back and stomach pain, loose bowel. It has set me right back. I am not over side effects, and it has been 8 days."
