For Depression "I think Luvox is a good medicine. I also take Abilify. Luvox took a long time to work. My two cents are to keep yourself busy and active because no medication will treat everything. I am only giving this medicine a 7 out of 10 because it makes me kind of tired. The reason why I take Abilify too is because I have irritability associated with depression."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I’ve been on fluvoxamine for about a month now, and it’s the third time I’m trying the treatment. I’m taking 200 mg daily. I started with 50 mg, then added an extra 50 every week. It has definitely helped with my OCD, mood swings, and nervous tics - I really am much better. But again, the side effects are making me reconsider. First week, I felt nauseous all the time and had diarrhea and stomach cramps, second week, there was the insomnia and sexual dysfunction, third and fourth weeks, still insomniac but now coupled with generalized tiredness and night sweats. No matter how much I sleep now, I always feel ready to nap, and it has seriously messed with my productivity both at uni and work. I don’t know what I’ll do next because I really am better, but I’m not sure it’s worth the side effects."

Fluvoxamine for Anxiety and Stress "My son was prescribed this for anxiety and racing thoughts. Helped initially with improved mood, but very tired. After a week or two, noticed an increase in impulsive behavior: lying, stealing, cheating, rudeness. Sleep remained reduced, and diarrhea and headaches. We have finally reduced it off, but still quite emotional."

For Depression "I was interested in fluvoxamine because, unlike the other SSRIs, it reportedly did not cause delayed ejaculation. This turned out to be true. However, the tiredness that came with this drug was far worse than on the other SSRIs, and I couldn't continue because of that."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Prescribed fluvoxamine in a mental hospital for OCD with Abilify. It was very difficult to tolerate. Had lots of panic attacks, especially before sleep. Still have to take Valium and Ambien to help me sleep and function during the day. Depression is improved, but still waiting on the OCD part. Too early to tell, therefore, I will write another review in 8 weeks. Other symptoms include nausea, palpitations, tiredness, and anxiety."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Been on it for a month for OCD and health anxiety. My contamination fears have diminished, but some other fears exacerbated. I feel trippy and have lucid dreams. For the first 3 weeks, I was exhausted and had no drive or care to get out of bed. That is getting better now. Going to ride it out and see if things get better."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have very bad OCD. Specifically, health anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I went from 50 mg to 100 mg in about 4 months. My panic about my health and my insane intrusive thoughts literally disappeared. Luvox made me feel normal. But I became homeless after crappy life events for 3 months, so I had to wean myself off. I knew I couldn’t afford it in that time period. Now that I’m no longer homeless, I actually just took a 100 mg tablet from my leftovers pill bottle from July of this year (2021). Side effects: I’m tired as anything! Lol. Definitely makes me very drowsy and relaxed. I was having panic (OCD caused) right before I took the pill. Definitely try this out if you have bad OCD!"

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "My 18-year-old daughter was put on Luvox about 8 months ago. It definitely is working for her OCD. She is still very depressed, though. She recently had an increase in her dose and is now taking 300 mg daily, 150 mg in the morning and 150 mg at night. It takes a good 4 to 6 weeks to feel the benefits, she has told me. She rarely needs her Xanax anymore but takes Clonazepam once a day for anxiety. She is only 117 lbs, and I do worry about that high of a dose. She is tired all the time. Headaches occasionally too. Those are the main side effects for her. She has tried dozens of medications, and Luvox has been the only one to help with her OCD. Her therapist was the one to discover she had it, as we were both unaware."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Started Luvox in January this year and gradually increased my dose from 50 mg to 150 mg per day over the course of 11 months. For the first week or so, I developed pretty bad insomnia (which has never been a problem before), and my mood was very low. Together with CBT, I must say there was a significant improvement in my OCD symptoms, which I'm very grateful for, as I've had OCD for about a decade now. Anxiety in this area was significantly reduced with the help of exposure. However, I've also had many suicidal episodes, and it felt like my mind was fogged over, which made me feel very disconnected from my surroundings. So eventually, I stopped. It definitely helped with OCD, but the low mood and lethargy were intolerable."

Fluvoxamine "I’m taking 100 mg Luvox, and it works very well. Side effects I experienced initially (first couple of nights)-I felt as though I had restless legs. It also makes me grind my teeth, especially at night. I now sleep with a splint/guard for my teeth. I am more tired during the day, but I’m so much happier and can cope with my sad situation, so I don’t mind those effects. Occasionally, I get ‘brain zaps’ close to taking my dose. I will be continuing this medication, it’s made me happy and pretty chilled about things that used to irritate me."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I was pretty reluctant to try another SSRI since I haven't had the best experience with them (didn't work well, made me exhausted, emotionless, and hungry). Wellbutrin really helps my depression, but my OCD and anxiety symptoms have been getting worse over the past couple of years. So I gave in and agreed to try Luvox, and I'm glad I did! I had to increase the dose a bit before it worked (I've been at 200 mg for about 6 months now), but it's so nice to not be checking things constantly, playing out disaster scenarios on a loop, doubting all my thoughts, feelings, and relationships, etc. I still have anxiety and intrusive thoughts, but they are way less frequent and intense. Not many side effects, luckily, it makes me a little sleepy, so I take it at night, and I have an occasional upset stomach, but it's worth it to me. The only thing I'm bummed about is that it hasn't helped at all with my skin picking or hair pulling, but nothing's perfect."

"I recently was admitted to a psych ward for a suicide ideation/attempt. I've previously been diagnosed with ADHD and borderline personality disorder. I was taking 70 mg Vyvanse 1x a day, 300 mg Wellbutrin XR 1x a day in the morning, and 20 mg of Paxil 1x before bed. The psychiatrist in the hospital discontinued the Paxil and prescribed 100 mg Luvox 2x a day and 50 mg Seroquel before bed. I've been taking the medication for 9 days. I wake up tired and feel tired the whole day. I also feel jittery, but that could be because I drink caffeinated beverages to help stay awake. My hope is these effects wear off."

Fluvoxamine for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "This medication works fine. It just makes me really drowsy, and I yawn so much. It also makes me go to the restroom more. Other than that, it works fine."

Fluvoxamine for Anxiety and Stress "The worst drug I have ever taken in my life. It gave me severe anxiety. Made me so tired, and I can't sleep, and I got severe stomach pain, electric shocks. I don't recommend it at all."

Fluvoxamine for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "If you're having trouble, was Luvox making you tired? Take it before bed or have a doctor prescribe 300 mg of Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is a cousin of Amphetamine."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Have taken it only a week but stopped because of tiredness and sleepiness I felt all the time. It really improves sleep, though, by increasing melatonin levels in your system. Good sedative SSRI."

For Depression "I have been on 50 mg fluvoxamine for 8 weeks for depression and anxiety. Since taking it, I want to be by myself, and I have been getting more tired, and no energy to do anything. I avoid shopping. I used to walk most days before I started taking it, but it is too much effort, and I get breathless. The depression has not gotten any better. I sleep 4 hours at night, but to be fair, that has been my average even before I took the tablets. If I had to summarize, the worst effect would be tired all the time, and I have become antisocial. The good effects are slightly less anxious."
