Fluvoxamine for Anxiety and Stress "I’m on fluvoxamine for depression. It helped with it and with my bad thoughts, but it gave me severe sexual problems, so I'm forced to switch. It only started to be helpful after a month, and also it can give you sleep problems and anxiety (just at the start, like the first 2 weeks). But the sexual problems are still there even if my depression has been better, but still not cured. So I’m switching now."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I've been on fluvoxamine for about 5 years. I was put on them when I was 12, I was diagnosed with transformational obsession (fear of turning into people). Fluvoxamine reduced my OCD thoughts for about 3 years, and I was so happy, which was great! Clearly, starting about 2 summers ago, I feel they have become less effective, and however hard I try, I cannot maintain a level of happiness. I have a constant undertone of anxiety, and my OCD thoughts are starting to come back full force (every minute). However, for a long time, I have just felt confused, questioning the meaning of things, and I just wonder whether this is correlating with the tablets. I have no reason to be sad, and I really try to be happy!"

For Anxiety and Stress "I took this med for a week before I decided it wasn’t worth it for me. I have generalized anxiety disorder and depression. My doctor prescribed this off-label as we wanted to try one more SSRI before switching to something else, and my experience was not pleasant. The worst side effect I experienced was insomnia. There were two nights where I only slept for 1 1/2 hours and was so incredibly fatigued and muscle aches the whole time I took it. I also experienced worsened anxiety and rumination almost every day and tremors as if I had the flu."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have OCD and anxiety disorder since I was 13. Started Fluvox when I was 19, and the first day taking it, the side effects immediately hit me. I got serotonin syndrome and was hallucinating. My pupils were huge, I felt so loopy and depressed. Gave me a panic attack and made me so paranoid...."

For Anxiety and Stress "I just began this med, and it's 3:00 am. Mind you, I took my first pill at 2:00 pm the previous day. Personally, I do not like it! I cannot sleep, my mouth is dry, and very restless. My anxiety and compulsive (overthinking things) thoughts are overwhelming. I'm going to rate this medication poor with my experience. It's not my cup of tea."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "Don't touch fluvoxamine. I tried this for about 3 years, and it reduced my OCD, but it didn't eliminate it completely. The side effects of it were excessive sweating, dizziness, memory problems, and poor decision-making. Then when I stopped fluvoxamine in the summer, I became stress intolerant, anxious, depressed, and had attention problems. I think SSRIs are the worst thing. Now I am using herbs occasionally, hoping that my brain will heal with time."

"I recently was admitted to a psych ward for a suicide ideation/attempt. I've previously been diagnosed with ADHD and borderline personality disorder. I was taking 70 mg Vyvanse 1x a day, 300 mg Wellbutrin XR 1x a day in the morning, and 20 mg of Paxil 1x before bed. The psychiatrist in the hospital discontinued the Paxil and prescribed 100 mg Luvox 2x a day and 50 mg Seroquel before bed. I've been taking the medication for 9 days. I wake up tired and feel tired the whole day. I also feel jittery, but that could be because I drink caffeinated beverages to help stay awake. My hope is these effects wear off."

Fluvoxamine for Anxiety and Stress "The worst drug I have ever taken in my life. It gave me severe anxiety. Made me so tired, and I can't sleep, and I got severe stomach pain, electric shocks. I don't recommend it at all."
