For COPD "I've been using Breo Ellipta for a couple of years. I have COPD. It works well to help me breathe. However, I experience dizziness sometimes when I take it, so I tend to not take it as I'm supposed to take it. I drive for a living, and I can't drive if I'm dizzy. I won't risk it. This makes my employer pissed off, but hey, at least I can breathe. I get hoarseness also, but it works. It stops the wheezing, so I can sleep."

For Asthma, Maintenance "Was put on it after unknown lung disease (Hypersensitivity pneumonitis OR Bronchiolitis obliterans - yet to be determined). I think it does improve breathing, but I'm having a hard time concentrating, feeling emotional, bad sleep, and muscle and bone pain. With all these side effects, I'd rather have a harder time breathing than feel like I'm a different person... But as it seems, not everyone is affected the same."

For Asthma "My nebulizer and my rescue inhaler were working, but my pulmonologist wanted to wean me from both. Two days after starting Breo Ellipta, I started a wracking cough with ample sputum, sore throat, irritated sinuses, headache, nasal congestion, chest tightness, and unable to take a deep breath. I thought it was the flu or a bad cold and continued using it for a week while symptoms got worse. The doctor said I could also use the nebulizer if necessary, but I found out neither the nebulizer nor the rescue inhaler had any effect while using Breo. The doctor stopped the Breo, and in 36 hours all side effects disappeared except the cough, which is definitely better. Will not take again."

For Asthma "My doctor recommended 24-hour Breo to replace my Advair 250/50. In the first 4 days of taking Breo, I experienced most of the side effects of Breo (fever, chest infection, cough, mouth pain, excessive discharge, runny nose, sore throat, headache, back pain). I stopped taking Breo and went back to Advair. Will wait and see when the medication is improved. Thanks, Raed."

For Asthma "I have taken this medication, Breo Ellipta, for the last 2 days. I have had extreme muscle pain, migraine-like symptoms such as an awful headache with nausea. Sensitive to light. I am miserable. I hope the side effects wear off soon."

For Asthma, Maintenance "PRO: Before I began taking this medication almost three years ago, I went through two rescue inhalers a month. Now I don't use them at all, and instead of struggling to find a way to get a refill, I have so many I'm afraid they will expire before I can use them. CON: I have to clear my throat a lot, and there is more drainage and sputum than before, but it's a very small price to pay for being able to breathe. Also, it is NOT covered by insurance, so I have to pray yearly I find the discount coupon online to cover the expense. It is about $450 without the coupon. Insurance needs to get on board."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I took BREO Ellipta for about 8 months and trailed off, which my doctor actually said was probably a good decision on my part. I just didn’t feel like I needed it as much. I was struggling with breathing paired with another health issue, so I went to see my pulmonologist. He put me back on BREO for a 1-month trial... and 4 days later I’d broken out in itchy hives. I assumed this was from something else, so my doctor gave me steroids to take. I finished my steroids 3 days ago, and my rash is worse than ever and still worsening. I don’t know what else it could be.... Has anybody ever had this issue?!!"

For COPD "I was put on Breo and was amazed at how well I felt, but it didn't last long. My symptoms were getting worse, and it wasn't until I had my wisdom teeth pulled that I realized that Breo was making me worse. After having my wisdom teeth pulled out, I was scared to use my inhaler. I was told no straws because sucking in cold would pull stitches out, so the day after I didn't use Breo, the next day I couldn't believe how well I could breathe, and each day was even better. I was using my rescue inhaler once every 4 to 5 hours, and I felt good, so even though at first Breo seemed good, over time it didn't agree with me. I'm seeing my respiratologist next week to see what's next for me, as the rescue inhaler is not enough."

For COPD "So far, so good. I am very impressed with the results. I am breathing better than I have for quite some time, and I use my rescue inhaler infrequently. My wife commented that she hadn't heard me cough at all today, and my wheezing has stopped. I have experienced no side effects to speak of. The first time I took it, my heart rate was elevated for a while, but that's the only time it happened. I have been on it for a month."

For Asthma "My wife was told to try this. A few days later, she started having heart racing problems. She went to a cardiologist, he changed her heart meds, but it still kept happening. We finally looked up the Breo side effects and stopped taking it. She hasn't had a problem since."

For COPD "OMG. Rescue inhaler wasn't enough anymore. I was hesitant to be put on all kinds of meds. Well, I had no choice. The wheezing and coughing were unbearable. Not only to me but all those around me. Day or night. By the third day of using this, no more use of inhaler. I have it always with me. So far, GREAT! Hopefully, I won't get negative side effects."

For Asthma "I've had asthma for 38 years. I've been life-flighted 3 times for it and have been hospitalized at least 50 times and spent time in ICU. As I got older, it did not go away but did improve. My Dr. gave me a sample of Breo, and I've never had relief like this. It's the best inhaler of all time. I don't care if it comes out in 10 years that it was lethal. It helps me breathe now."

For Asthma "Thanks to all the Lysol being sprayed in the office, my asthma flared up, and my doctor decided on Breo. It worked great the first 2 days, minus the intense headache and palpitations (I called in sick both days). On the 3rd day, I had a very aggressive migraine 5 minutes after taking the inhaler. My left arm went numb up to my neck. Fortunately, a Benadryl seemed to help, but I immediately started puking for the next 12 hours. I slept every minute I could but woke up to intense chills that made me puke again. Since this was a Saturday, I had to wait until Monday to see my doctor. When they took my vitals, I was hypertensive with a 143 heart rate. While it's not uncommon for my heart rate to be 100-110, my blood pressure rarely changes, let alone spikes to hypertensive levels. Now, over a week later, I'm stuck with dry, irritated feeling lungs. Again, my flare-up at the time was relatively minor and could have been treated way easier and cheaper with a standard steroid inhaler."

For Asthma "Have had asthma since age 12. Also just quit smoking 5 weeks ago. Started Breo 2015-ish. It was like a miracle drug! Couldn't believe I didn't need my rescue for months at a time. Went through 1 inhaler/month most of my life. The drawback of Breo is that it severely weakened my immune system. Started getting oral thrush every 2-3 months even after rinsing and gargling with antiseptic. 2 years ago, I started getting sick all the time. Last year, I had the flu 2 times, a respiratory infection, and 3 stomach viruses. Took prednisone in January - I was told to stop Breo because that was too much steroid. Haven't touched it since, and haven't gotten sick since. Also have anxiety and heart palpitations now, never had prior to using Breo. Now not smoking and not taking Breo in 7 months, palpitations have lessened and anxiety is starting to get better. Feel better since stopping Breo. It's quite a shame because my asthma was totally controlled while taking it, but it still seems controlled. Hope I don't have to take it again!"

For COPD, Maintenance "Doctor gave me a sample. Used it 3 days. I do think it helped my breathing, but I stopped using it. I had the worst headache ever and terrible mouth pain. All of my teeth hurt and the entire inside of my mouth. Those problems were so painful that I stopped using it."

For Asthma "My doctor changed my medication from Advair and Ventolin to this new highly recommended medication, Breo. This is my second week taking it. I don't need any more Ventolin, and I have been using it 2 puffs every 4 hours for the past 25 years. I am taking one puff of Breo every 2-3 days, and it works better than anything else that I have been trying my entire life. Please note: I am eating tons of celery, this vegetable is magic. I think the combination of Breo and celery is amazing, and my body is happy. Please don't forget to rinse your mouth immediately after the puffer, otherwise, you will have other side effects like a sore throat."

For COPD "I used Breo one time only. It felt like I had drunk five cups of coffee. This medicine thoroughly affected my nervous system. I can't live like I'm drugged up for two seconds. I would rather take a short-acting inhaler than feel drugged all the time. Breo is not for me."

For Asthma, Maintenance "Sad and relieved to see others here like me. The first week was great, and then tremors, headaches, dry hair, skin, eyes, sinuses, and mouth joint pain, and finally super high blood pressure and high cortisol in my body. Foggy head and fatigue. Chest tightness, rash, and moody. I took it for asthma, but the side effects are crazy. I took it for less than 2 months and quit."

For Asthma, Maintenance "This medicine worked well in the beginning, but I quickly built up a tolerance to it. It is now not working so well after a month. Now I am getting severe tightness in the chest a few times a day while still using it. Not only that, I am cramped up now all the time with severe thigh and lower leg cramps, shoulder spasms, and neck terrible pain. The fatigue is crippling and intolerable. My life has become a misery. I will go back to the Dr. and ask to be put on something else. This is the cure? Ha!"

For Asthma, Maintenance "Improved my asthma symptoms quickly, but the side effects made it unusable. Improved lung function within a day or two but had severe muscle spasms first in my right trapezius. Didn't relate it to the drug at first, so went to the doctor and started muscle relaxers and inflammation reduction meds. Unable to turn my head at all by day 3 and not able to sleep because of pain. Discontinued Breo and symptoms were better within a few days. Restarted Breo a week later and had muscle spasms in upper thighs and neck by day two. I really liked the effect for my lungs, but the pain and lack of function are not bearable."

For Asthma "I'm 41 and was diagnosed with asthma at 12 years old. For as long as I can remember, I had to have my rescue inhaler with me at all times, usually needing it 1-2 times daily. After about a month of using Breo, I already noticed a huge improvement. As of now, and almost a year of use, I've only used my inhaler 5-6 times total. It's amazing to feel like I can breathe for the first time in my life! Three weeks ago, I climbed up Mt. Fuji in Japan. Something I never thought I would be able to do!"

For Asthma, Maintenance "I started taking Breo Ellipta in November after my respirologist prescribed it after exposure to mold left me wheezing and coughing. I had a mild wheeze and often had to clear my throat. Within a month of taking this medicine, I had full-on asthma: coughing, wheezing, gasping for air. I realized I often got worse after taking my dose. After spending a good part of my day in emergency, I was switched to Flovent and am finally able to fully catch a breath. Not only did it not help me, it made me much, much worse."
