Fluoxetine / olanzapine for Depression "A life-changing medication! I have tried almost every antidepressant out there, combinations, the works. I never realized how ineffective they were until now. I was on Prozac alone, and it wasn't doing anything but keeping me up at night. I was completely hopeless about two weeks ago. So hopeless I thought I needed to be committed. My psych doctor called this his 'nuclear weapon'. I didn't believe anything would help, but the difference is unbelievable. It does increase appetite, so I couldn't give it a 10, but this is one amazingly effective medication for me!"

Fluoxetine / olanzapine for Bipolar Disorder "I tried several medicines before finding success with this one. My depression and mood swings are under control, and life is manageable. My friends and family tell me that I'm much more enjoyable to be around now. I feel that this medicine saved my life. The only negative effect it has is that I'm hungrier and have gained some weight. I've just had to make adjustments in my diet to eat healthy, but this is a good thing for my overall health too. I feel so great on this medicine that the negative effect is worth it."

Fluoxetine / olanzapine for Major Depressive Disorder "So far, so good on Symbyax after only 4 days. My depression is not as prevalent, and I haven’t had anxiety. My medication specialist prescribed the 2 meds separately to save on costs. Instead of $200, I paid $17 for them separately. So far, I haven’t been overly hungry, but it’s still early. I only gave it an 8 because it’s still early, but I’ll revise my review in a month."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been on this medicine for one week. I have been really hungry, and now after reading the message boards, I realized the medicine may be to blame, so I will adjust by eating healthier, lower-calorie snacks. But besides that, I feel great and have been sleeping like a normal person. My attitude is cheerful, and I feel more positive. And let me tell you, before I started taking it, I was seriously depressed, so I feel like a new person now. I feel like my old self, before mental illness took over my life."

Fluoxetine / olanzapine for Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on Symbyax for about 8 weeks now. The doctor upped my prescription to 6 mg/50 mg. It does make me eat all the time. I can't stop munching. This medication makes me feel a little better, but it didn't last very long. I'm slowly declining again. Zoloft seemed to work, but my doctor didn't think that was going to help me in the long run. I am having short-term memory loss due to extreme anxiety. The Symbyax seems to make it worse. I still don't know if I like it or not."

For Bipolar Disorder "I took Symbyax for 11 years. But last year I couldn't afford it, so the doctor switched me to 2 separate pills, fluoxetine and olanzapine. It still seems to stabilize my moods, and I haven't been way up manic or way down depressed since I've taken it all these years. And like everyone says, it definitely makes you gain weight. Rather increased appetite, hence a 40-pound weight gain. But I probably would've never gotten married and had kids if it weren't for this medicine mixture. Nobody could handle me with my severe mood swings before I started this."

For Depression "After a trial of many meds, my doc decided to put me on this. In the past, I relapsed quickly, and I'm hoping I will not with this new med. I'm on 6 mg, and it has been a month. I sleep like a baby. I mean deep sleep for 10 hours. For two years, I was getting 3-4 hours of sleep, no appetite, crying. Now my appetite increased, which I don't like. From size 0, I'm at 2 in just 1 month of taking it. Moods are great, no crying spells, and optimistic."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Been taking this for only a few days. I now feel like I can finally breathe and live my life!! Although it makes you feel hungry all the time, so it's best to diet and eat healthy! Overall, it's a good combo, I hope it continues to work!"
