For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first yeast infection. I was too scared to tell anyone, so I dealt with it for almost a week. But last night, I couldn't handle it anymore, so I told my mum. She called, and the doctor sent in a prescription. I took the pill earlier around 1:30 pm. It's now 1:41 am. It took away a lot of the itching and burning when I pee, but it still slightly hurts to wipe, and it's slightly itchy. I have another dose I can take, but I'm waiting to see if this will help and clear up by tomorrow or get better."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have a mild yeast infection. Tried taking Diflucan one (1 x 150 mg tablet). Four days later, no improvement whatsoever. Tonight I went to the drugstore and purchased Canesten (3 x vaginal tablets), which I've used successfully in the past. Had I known, I would have stuck with what I know works and saved myself the $30."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took one pill when I went to bed. The next morning and days later, I have a red patch on my cheek. First, it burned and itched, now it looks like I am a burn victim. I have taken this medication before, but never again. I am just hoping this heals soon."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am very prone to yeast infections. Especially while on birth control, for the most part, really good probiotics clear it right up, but I had slight symptoms of a yeast infection for the past week, and the probiotics aren't doing the trick, so I had a Diflucan lying around from when I was on a Z-Pak. Decided to just take it and see if it would help. I'm having an awful reaction, my vagina is 100 times itchier. Don't take it. Go out and buy a great probiotic, so much better and all natural. I'm regretting taking it. :("

For Candidemia "Diflucan can change the serum level of Dilantin. In my father's case, it drove his Dilantin level to toxic levels within a matter of days (it reached 32; the normal threshold for seizure protection is a level between 10 and 20). His infectious disease specialist knew that he was on Dilantin (for a brain tumor) but did not warn us of a possible interaction. It took us a while to 'even things out' afterward."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took 3 Diflucan for a yeast infection and used over-the-counter Monistat 3 day first on my own. One month later, I am still experiencing burning tongue, metallic taste in my mouth, slight pains going through each breast, very tired, and slight itch and burn on occasion in the vagina. I took this along with HRT and have been reading about the interaction they have together. All I have been told is that I may have overdone the treatment, had an allergic reaction, and killed too much good bacteria. Will never take this drug again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am always prescribed this drug when I get a yeast infection. The past 3 times I have taken it, it causes a couple of my fingers to swell and itch. By the next day, I always have a blister on my finger! I have developed an allergy to this medication. I will never take it again!!!"

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "It would have been very nice to have known beforehand that Diflucan contains fluoride, which messes with iodine. I have thyroid problems and bipolar, so it has been real fun puking my brains out while having a complete breakdown. This stuff also has the added plus of switching your yeast infection to a bacterial infection."

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed just 2 pills after getting antibiotics for a UTI and an ear infection “just in case.” They were to be taken 7 days apart. The morning after taking 1, I had nearly all the side effects mentioned for this drug. I didn’t read the side effects beforehand and psych myself out. I just wondered why my stomach was so bloated, painful, miserable gas, constant BM, 0 appetite, and worst of all, I had shortness of breath! Then, 24 hours later, I remembered I had taken this the night before and looked up negative side effects. I will not be taking the other pill! If I ever get a true yeast infection, I will use the 1-day ovule that has no side effects! Can’t wait till this leaves my system, which says it stays in your system for several days :("

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took amoxicillin for 10 days, which has given me a very painful yeast infection. I was prescribed Diflucan, and it interacted with the Tegretol I take for bipolar. I ended up in the hospital overnight so my kidneys could be flushed out. Be sure to check drug interactions before adding additional meds. I did complete the three-day treatment of Diflucan under the doctor's advice, but still have burning. I am now on the second day of a 3-day Monistat treatment. I am praying this burning subsides so I can get some relief. It has been a month now of pain. Ugh!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took this pill 2 days ago. I have been sick ever since. I have an awful headache, constantly feel like throwing up, and I'm itchy. Stick to the cream, I have never had a reaction to any medications, so thought this would be fine. Don't risk it!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to the GYN with burning, irritation, and mild clear/white discharge about three weeks ago. Had a pelvic exam and swabs were taken. She said it looked most like a yeast infection and prescribed Diflucan, one tab immediately and one tab three days later. Labs came back after both doses had already been taken, and the infection was bacterial (BV). Was prescribed metronidazole gel, which then caused the yeast infection I didn't have in the first place. Back to the Diflucan. Three pills in one month, but since the third pill (when I actually now do have a yeast infection), I am having dizziness. Annoying, unending spinning. Also, the yeast symptoms did not abate after four days. Monistat 3 helped in one night. Never again, Diflucan."

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "Two months ago, I started feeling burns on my penis, so I didn't take it seriously. But these days, it became so bad that I couldn't sleep, then I searched for it on Google today. I bought Diflucan, and it's been 4 hours, and I have no burning or itching, just a few wounds."

For Cryptococcal Meningitis, Immunosuppressed Host "I was diagnosed with cryptococcal meningitis. Was treated with fluconazole when it was a new drug instead of the accepted amphotericin B. With the newer fluconazole, the infection was controlled without the need for inpatient hospitalization. Fluconazole has a few side effects, like diarrhea, but it ended up being mild. My biggest problem with the pill was that it would easily break down in the mouth and throat. If not taken with plain water and swallowed very quickly, it would dissolve and stick in the throat, causing gagging and leaving a foul taste for hours. On the other hand, the drug was very effective for a life-threatening condition. The few downsides were outweighed by the overwhelming benefits. The old treatment is much harsher than the fluconazole. My vote goes hand down in favor of fluconazole. Barring complications, a lifelong maintenance dose will be required, but again, a small inconvenience."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I had BV and got the Tday vaginal treatment, which I ended Tuesday 3/15/16, and shortly after developed a yeast infection. I visited the doctor today and took 15 mg Diflucan and felt better a few hours after. No burning or itching was ever present, I noticed a change in discharge and immediately got seen by a doctor. No side effects. I caught mine the day after I noticed a change."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a UTI, which I’m prone to. I tend to hold my pee when I am sleeping. I know, I know, it’s a bad habit, lol. Anyways, I have Keflex for UTI, and that caused a yeast infection. I thought I’d try some Monistat 7, and it only got worse. Finally, like three days into the Monistat, I was like I have to take the Diflucan. I was putting it off because apparently it interacts with Zoloft, but I called the pharmacist, and she was like nope, you’re fine, take the pill. I would say about an hour after the pill, I felt relief. I was so freaking swollen, irritated, and just in pain down there. I literally wanted to cry before taking the pill. I'm so happy to finally feel relief. For me, I had an upset stomach for like 30 mins, then it went away. A day or two later, I had a bad headache, but took some ibuprofen. Also, the dosage was 150 mg. Took it in the afternoon, like around 3 pm. Felt relief around 5 pm. Easy to use, not messy like the cream, actually will work…"

For Tinea Versicolor "No side effects at all, 33-year-old male with candida in groin, on my 2nd dose and I see and feel a big difference. The candida is going away, I might need one more dose, in case, to prevent. But no side effects on me, and I'm on Lexapro, beta blockers."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Glad to hear my 150 mg one-time dose can cause fatigue, tachycardia, and headache, as well as indigestion and heartburn. A lot of vague symptoms like shaking hands, burping, cold extremities too. I thought I had COVID again! I did drink alcohol on day 6 after taking it, which worsened my side effects severely. Now I know I only need to wait and drink a lot of ginger tea and water and keep my meals simple. This site helped me a lot. Don't drink alcohol with this, you'll regret it. No yeast infection, but now I feel sick three days after alcohol. It started with throbbing in my liver, then evolved 24 hours later into many minor, annoying symptoms."

For Tinea Versicolor "After nine years with a fungal infection on the skin, I was given 100 MG/week for a month. I already took the last pill of the course, and all it has done so far is turn the spots pink and make them slightly bigger, and some itched more often (although one looks like it's starting to disappear)! But the side effects! Oh, the side effects! After the first pill, I felt extremely dizzy, headachy, and nauseous for an hour after bedtime. The next day, I had little appetite that only recovered that evening. The next two times, I took two Rolaids, which helped with the nausea. That left the headache to contend with all day the day after I took the pill. I took two ibuprofen three times to combat the headaches on the last pill. What a joke!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a yeast infection for 5-6 days and was using Monistat until yesterday when I called and got a script for 2 Diflucan 150! Took the first one yesterday morning and not much change at all this morning. Will take the second one tomorrow morning and pray it works. I had not had a yeast infection for at least 10 years. No side effects and drinking lots of water. Having gallbladder surgery on Friday and want this cleared up prior to surgery. Sorry to say the doctor's office is not a lot of help. So what else is new???"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Awful! I was so dizzy even sitting down. My body dried out... hands, feet, face. My hands cracked open. Two days after taking, my throat felt funny and the entire inside of my mouth had white stuff all over. I can't say it works because the doctor diagnosed me with yeast and it wasn't. I actually had an abscess and switched to Bactrim. But I know I will never touch that stuff again."

For Tinea Versicolor "This is a very harsh drug... that I do not wish to ever take again... and I cautioned anyone that takes this drug. It made me dizzy... very tired... I took it for a whole month three times a week... my doctor says the symptoms should go away... but I still feel tired and do not have the energy that I did before I took it. I also have severe bloating and gas. It has been weeks and the symptoms have not gone away... I'm getting very worried that it cost me damage to my liver... again, I will say I do not think the drug should be on the market... I regret ever taking it... took it for scalp eczema... because I am going through menopause... believe me, the scalp eczema is nothing compared to the side effects... caution everyone to do not take this drug!"

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed this drug for a fungal UTI. I have lost most of my hair. I started losing it about a week or so after I finished the medication. I now have started saving it along with videos. I have 2 qt. size zip lock bags of it and am still losing it by the brush full almost 2 months later. My hair was very thick, now you can see through it. I will never take this drug again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I went to the gyno thinking I had BV again. Turns out it is a yeast infection. Gave me Diflucan 150 mg, 2 pills, 3 days apart. Supposed to take the next one 2/15/16, so it is Valentine's Day, and constantly dealing with this, it feels like it got worse, more noticeable that something is wrong."
