For Birth Control "I was put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a year, then I was forced to switch to TriNessa because insurance didn't cover it. I have been on it for 5 months, and it has been the same as Ortho. I have had weight gain, which I love. Breast tenderness isn't as bad, but they swell three weeks into a pack. Nausea every first week of the pack. Cramping sucks. But I get my period every fourth day of placebo. Literally Thursday morning I start, and I LOVE it. My periods are decently light. Overall, favorite pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve never written a review in my entire life. But I feel super strong about my experience with this birth control and wanted to share. I was on and off this birth control for about two years. It helped me with my acne, I did gain about 20 pounds, but it also was very effective. Everyone on here is talking about their experiences while taking the pill, but nothing about the after effects. While on the medication, I had less cramping and regular cycles... well, I’ve been off of it for a year and 4 months, and since then I’ve had my period every 11 days. Every single time. Instead of my period lasting 7 days, it lasted 5-6. I’ve been to multiple doctors, and they just tell me it may take a while or longer than normal for my body to readjust. On top of this, I can’t conceive. It’s very frustrating, TriNessa seemed to be working great during my experience, but I just want to share with you ladies some of the side effects I’ve experienced since being off it."

For Acne "I was on the mini pill for about a year and really didn't mind it at all. However, I was weaning my baby and had some breaking out, so wanting to try the regular pill instead as recommended by my doctor. One month in and so far it is TERRIBLE. I get terrible cramps now, nausea all day, headaches, and my emotions are out of whack! I already have slight depression and anxiety, this pill made it SO much worse. My acne is the worst it's been since I first had my daughter, especially around my jawline. I am going to give it two more packs and then switch to something else."

For Birth Control "Doc prescribed Ortho Tri Lo, but my insurance paid for this alternative. After 2 weeks of taking this pill, I've had cramps and spotting every day and feel very bloated and irritable. I have a call into my doctor asking if I should see it through and hope things improve or just stop and get this out of my system. Frustrating."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I was on TriNessa for about 2 to 5 years. I loved it for the first few years. My cramping intensity went down to where I could go out and function without any problems. My period was very regulated to where I can predict the exact day and almost the time. It didn't help with my acne at all. After about 3 years, I'm starting to have cramping again to where I have to stay in bed. And my regulation is off. So it's really good while it lasts."

For Birth Control "After switching to TriNessa after years on Triprevefem without issue, I experienced side effects that were like every symptom of pregnancy. I started having unusual menstrual-like and lower abdominal cramps, indigestion, bloating, heartburn that did not go away. I thought I had gained 10 pounds. My breasts jumped at least a cup size. I was dizzy and exhausted with intense headaches despite getting plenty of rest. Pregnancy was a minuscule possibility because I had been using backup methods without fail. My period came a few days late, and I immediately switched back to Triprevefem. All of the symptoms went away except enlarged breasts, which I certainly can't complain about. My advice: pay out for brand name for some peace of mind and health."

For Birth Control "Been on Tri-Nessa for almost 3 years now, and in the beginning, my mood swings and depression were all over the place. In the beginning, my periods were lighter and I was in less pain, but now it seems to have switched to more heavy periods and more painful currently. Yes, my skin is clearer, but I’ve developed hyperpigmentation (melasma) on my cheeks from using Tri-Nessa and the hormones."

For Birth Control "The first few days of taking this, I experienced slight nausea, some cramps, and breast tenderness. Now, the nausea I’m experiencing is off the roof. I’m disgusted by foods, and yet I have to constantly eat to make my nausea subside a little. I’m going to switch to a different brand."

For Birth Control "I'm 20, and this is my first birth control. I got it to control my acne and to prevent pregnancy. The very first day I took it, I felt horribly nauseous, but thankfully it went away and hasn't come back since. My complaint is the cramping! I basically cramp every day or every other day. The pain is on the outside 'lady bit' region too. So far, this is the only side effect for me. My sex drive is the same, still waiting for acne control, and I haven't experienced increased discharge. I'm on my first month and have only been on it for two weeks. So hopefully, the cramps stop and my acne calms down."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for maybe two years. I've changed birth control multiple times because I wanted to try something that would give me fewer periods. When my doctor and I discovered fewer periods a year weren't working for my body, she put me on TriNessa. From the start, I have had nausea so bad it wakes me up in the middle of the night for the first few pills of the pack. I have been getting infections such as BV and UTIs. I have never had any of those infections or any problems with my vag before starting this birth control. Periods are still heavy, cramps are really bad. My sex drive is just gone. My boyfriend thinks I find him unattractive or that I'm with someone else and cheating on him. Only good thing: no babies."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for about 8 months now. It has done a great job at preventing pregnancy, and it also has cleared up my face a lot! People have even noticed and told me how much better my skin looks. I do feel like the pill does make me more emotional and more moody. I used to never get cramps, and now I get them on the first day of my period. Also, my boobs have not gotten any bigger. :/ Overall, I think the pill does its job, and I'm happy about that!"

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for a month, started my second month, and almost finished with week one. So far, my cramps have still been horrible, and my acne has worsened since I've been on the pill. Hoping for changes in the third month!"

For Birth Control "I am 21 years old. I started TriNessa when I was 18 for birth control. The pill was wonderful, and I stayed on it for about 8 months or so. I stopped the pill for six months, but because my periods became irregular, I started the pill again. This time I've been on it the longest, probably a year and a half or 2. I think the last 6 months or so have been hell. I experienced cramping, bloating, and nausea starting in week 2 of the pill pack. Close to week 3, I had a series of migraines. The headaches were too much for me. I stopped the pills and am now on Loestrin 24 Fe. I just started week two, so I don't know how well these work. Overall, TriNessa is an effective pill. I think my body just got tired of it. I hope my review helps!"

"I have been on TriNessa for about 7 months. I felt a little sick at first, and I cried a lot over nothing. But all that went away after a couple of months. This pill works for me. I take it every day at the same time. I don't have any problems with it. My period lasts about 3 days and is very light. I barely have any cramps. I love this medicine."

For Birth Control "I've only been using TriNessa for a month. In the first couple of weeks, I experienced terrible headaches, but they started to subside later. The pill did reduce my cramping but increased my bitchiness! No help with acne, though!"

For Birth Control "Okay, so, I've been taking this birth control for five years now. It does its job at preventing pregnancy. Been with my boyfriend for three years, never used a condom, never pregnant. That's basically the only good thing about it. My acne has been terrible the entire time I've used this birth control. My mood swings are insane, cramping makes me nauseous, and I would bleed for five to seven days. I'm diagnosed with depression, and I noticed the week before my period I would get insanely depressed. I'm guessing it was this birth control, considering it happened every month during the last week of pills. Switching over to Yasmin to see how that works."

For Acne "I have only been on Trinessa for 9 days, and my skin is dramatically improving. I know that it may seem too early to tell, but this is the best I've seen my skin in a long time. I have not changed my skin routine or diet, the only thing that has changed is getting on Trinessa. My only con is that I get abdominal cramps here and there."

For Acne "Worked great for me. The first two months I did break out, but after month 3, I started to see clear skin. Still have 2-3 pimples and some brown spots, but overall much better than when I started. You definitely have to be patient and let your body adjust. Period is okay, but shorter, and I do get cramps on the first day, but at least it’s over after 4 days instead of 7."

"I've been on TriNessa for over 7 years, and I've had no problems at all. Very rarely, on weeks two and four, I'll get a blemish, but I barely even notice it. No cramps, regular period to the 28th day like clockwork, and no pregnancy. I stopped taking it for about 3 months and didn't get my period for the whole time, but once I started back, it went right back to normal."

For Birth Control "I used to be on Tri-Sprintec, my doctor recently switched me to Tri-Nessa and instantly I was in love with it. I didn't have my period at all, minor cramps, and my acne is disappearing so quickly. I haven't had any mood swings either. Thank you."

For Birth Control "I'm 23 and have been on TriNessa for 4 months. I switched from Loestrin 24 for affordability. For reference, I experience very heavy cramps and bleeding and about a week-long period when not on birth control. I have about a 3-day period that is moderate to heavy (it doesn't lighten my period very much, but it does shorten it). Cramps are reduced. The week of my period, I experience noticeable mood swings (unlike when I was on Loestrin and didn't experience any). But overall, I am very happy with this birth control. It's extremely affordable, shortens my period, lightens cramps, and does not cause mood swings outside of when I normally would right before my period. I would recommend giving it a shot!"

"I have been on TriNessa for about 4-5 months. For me, the worst things about it are constant breast tenderness (except for the week of my period) and acne right before my period. However, lately, the tenderness has significantly decreased, and the acne can be controlled as long as I take proper care of my skin. I also get pretty bad cramps, but it's only for the very first day of my period, and it's nothing Midol can't take care of. Everything else I have to say about TriNessa is positive. My periods are regular, I don't experience spotting if I miss pills, my mood is stable, I have no nausea, I'm not pregnant, and my sex drive has increased dramatically. All in all, an excellent pill."

For Birth Control "I've been using TriNessa for about 7 months, and it's been a roller coaster of an experience. As I continue to take this medication, my periods have become lighter and shorter, but at the same time, I still have cramps and abdominal pains for all 7 days. I have only noticed my acne getting worse, but the medication is inexpensive and effective, so I can't complain too much."

"This is the second time I have been on TriNessa, and it is not working for me. I regularly get very moody and overly sensitive to everything, followed by crying for nothing. I have had blurriness in my right eye and severe migraines almost every day. I originally went on TriNessa for acne, it didn't help at all, it actually got worse. And I noticed that my periods are longer and cramps are a lot worse."

For Birth Control "I am now 37 years old with eight children. I had gastric bypass in 2012. I had originally started the depo shot after my last daughter, but my doctor was concerned with the possibility of weight gain, so he switched me to TriNessa in February 2018. I have had longer, harder periods since starting. I've had urinary tract infections every month since (thought I wasn't drinking enough water and giving myself the infection). I've had cramping, weight gain, bad headaches, breast tenderness, and recently figured out I had swelling in my legs due to this drug. I figured it out after my 2-year-old lost both my pill packets and my keys one day, and we hadn't found them for almost 3 weeks! (Found them in the box of powdered laundry soap on the dryer.) At this point, I figured I'd just wait a few days and get the new month worth of pills, so a day or so later, I was in the bathroom every little while to urinate, and I noticed that my legs were getting better! Which led me here to see what side effects others have experienced!"
