For Birth Control "I rated this poorly because of the lack of response from my doctor. Shortly after starting Tri Previfem, I developed multiple gastrointestinal issues. None of my doctors or nurses (Obgyn, GP) took me seriously and insisted it was in my head or the result of some other unrelated issue. I finally decided to stop taking it and within a week I was able to go through a day without feeling nauseous or vomiting. These types of side effects need to be discussed more because they can be debilitating."

For Acne "Well I said I would be back :) I check this too much anyway! I'm now on my second month about to start my third week tomorrow. I am pretty sure my body noticed that I was going on a higher dose of estrogen because I broke out. I have been broken out around the cheeks but I just broke out on my forehead :'( the biggest thing about this medicine is the depression and even bigger the anxiety. I still have sex drive... but my anxiety is unbearable!!! I can't think straight. I can't relax even though I try. I'm staying on it obviously seeing as it hasn't even been 3 months yet and I would do just about anything to have acne not a problem. I start school in the second week of August.. please wish me luck!"

For Birth Control "I originally started this medication due to chronic migraines caused by hormonal imbalance. When I first started the pill my acne had reached its worst. I told myself to stick it through, it was the only thing helping the prevention of my headaches and migraines. In the 3rd month my skin completely cleared. My boobs went from just fitting a D 32 to DD 34! I gained no weight from it, still had my sex drive, and it did a very good job of keeping me from getting pregnant. It also made my period lighter, less painful, & 3 days shorter. I remained on the pill for about a year and a half before I started experiencing bad nausea everytime I missed a pill & also got really bad anxiety in the end. Had to stop taking it eventually. Miss my boobs but not the nausea or anxiety"

For Birth Control "Been on this birth control for a couple months now and I have been experiencing very bad anxiety, which I’ve never had previously. I can honestly say that this is the worst birth control I’ve ever taken. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been on it very long, but I genuinely don’t care. I have to get off of this trash birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for the last 7 years. I love it. I always know exactly when I'm going to get my period and they only last 4-5 days. I do get moody right before and breast soreness/cramping the day of but its not anything crazy. No weight gain and my skin still breaks out around my period. I've never been pregnant so that's definitely a plus too!"

For Endometriosis "I have endometrosis and have stomach pain, digestive problems, and abnormal bleeding. The digestive problems are just as bad as they were. My periods are better. The medicine does have side effects such as unsettled stomach and headaches."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Tri-Previfem for about eight months now. I switched after being on a low-dose estrogen pill for 4.5 years to this, which has a higher (but “not high”) dose of estrogen. I switched primarily because I had cystic acne issues (28 years old) and Tri-Prev. was recommended by my dermatologist. This pill absolutely cleared up my acne issues. I barely break out anymore and am very happy. But, my period is basically back to a full five days, which isn’t ideal, though it’s always on time. ALSO — breast tenderness is unreal, wow. I am very small chested and the soreness is intense for a few days the week before my period. Overall I’m pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "I really hate this birth control. I have taken others and had no side effects or anything go wrong, but this pill has basically ruined my social life. I have been taking it for a little over a month and since the second I started taking it, I have had my period. I have no sex drive, and constant bleeding. I have noticed I'm super moody, and for the first week it made me sick to my stomach and I stopped eating because of how it made me feel. I hate this pill but my doctor makes it difficult to switch."

For Acne "So I started taking Tri-Previfem after I suddenly started experience intense breakouts of cystic acne that I had never experienced before. I began taking Tri-Previfem around September of 2017 and my acne has improved dramatically. They always say it takes at least 6 months for birth control to have any significant changes/improvements and I definitely experienced an improvement. My sex drive didn’t change as far as I’m aware, but I have clinical depression so that in itself is a whole other issue. But my skin in clear, my periods are always regular, and I’m baby free so would definitely recommend this birth control looking for a 2-for-1: acne prevention and birth control."

For Birth Control "PLEASE do not take this. I haven't been this depressed in a year but I truly feel like this has made it come back with a vengeance. JUST DON'T TAKE IT. Also, my anxiety is worse than it's ever been and I really feel like dying. I'm switching back to sprintec in hopes that I feel better. Stay away from this."

For Birth Control "I went on this pill about 4 or so years ago and did not have too many issues. I occasionally broke out from time-to-time and i did gain a little weight over the last few years but I think that's more my fault for living off a college diet and not exercising like I should have. I went on the pill almost as soon as I became sexually active and have not had any pregnancy scares so it did that job in that respect. It also kept my periods regular and fairly short (about 4 days). However, around the time of my period I experienced extremely bad headaches (sometimes migraines accompained with vomiting) so my doctor just switched me over to a new pill recently. But other than that, I've had no complaints and would reccommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "Love tri-previfem! The first week I'll have to admit it made me pretty nauseous, I actually lost a few pounds, but after that first week I've been fine. So far I haven't gained any weight, it actually seems to curb my cravings which is great! Also, my sex drive has been wonderful! I haven't had any crazy mood swings or bouts of depression, and my breasts have grown a whole cup size (again, without weight gain anywhere else!). All in all I really love this BC, I was on nuvaring before this and it made me completely nuts."

For Birth Control "This is my 4th month after switching from Ortho tri-cyclin to tri-previfem due to my insurance and availability and I am miserable. For preventing pregnancy, sure, the pill works. But for anything else, it is horrible. I have gained several pounds over the last month and have not changed anything about my life style. My face is breaking out along my chin nearly every day. I am having constant serious mood swings. I am anti social and I have no sex drive. I have considered ending my year long relationship for the tiniest reasons and I am horrible to my family. I have never had mental health issues before I took this pill and I am hoping stopping will help me return to my normal self..."

For Birth Control "I am currently taking the last of my second pack and I feel like my sex drive has been lost... I'm not sure if it's this particular brand or not, but ever since I started taking it, I have felt no desire for sex. I am soon going to consult with my doctor to switch, Also, it gives you your period for a week which I do not like.. Had pretty heavy bleeding my first period, guessing I'll have the same with my next cycle. It works differently on everyone, but for me, it doesn't seem to be the right choice."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for 6 months and I have finally decided to stop taking it. Although it did help eliminate my acne, regulate my cycle, and prevent pregnancy, the cons outweigh the pros for me. At first I didn't really experience too many negative side effects, but as time has gone on I have become severely depressed, moody, and unmotivated. I am constantly tired and have become extremely forgetful about even simple things. I have become overly anxious and paranoid. I did have anxiety at times before the pill, but it was never this bad. My breasts are constantly sore and I have absolutely no sex drive anymore. None at all. I know it's this pill causing this and I need to stop taking it so I can feel like myself again."

For Birth Control "This pill was very effective for me, I was on it for quite some time HOWEVER the reason why I'll never use it again is because it took a really bad toll on my sex drive. I was always dry during sex, even with lubrication, which causes pain and tearing. I knew it had to have been the pill and once I stopped and we started trying to have a baby I realized my drive was back and I was no longer dry or experiencing pain. It totally disappeared after a week of not taking them. I will also say that my periods were pretty light 3-4 days and came every month like clockwork."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Previfem for almost a year and I love it I originally did the Depo shot and it made me gain a lot of weight but this did not make me gain any weight. My skin has cleared up completely I have no acne and I used to have cystic acne. My periods are very light and very regulated plus I haven’t got pregnant so I know it works in that area too I definitely recommend this birth-control I weigh 135 pounds and I’m about 5’6 just for reference:)"

For Birth Control "I been on Tri-Previfem since 2014, Since my Insurance wouldn't cover Ortho Tricyclen, I like that it helped with my heavy periods and completely took away those bad cramps I would get every month. about 3 months ago I started feeling so bad when it was a couple of days before my period supposed to come one. I would get so moody, depressed and at times if something really gets to me I would really flip out. I really didn't pay it much attention until I started to get them more around the same time each month. Its not as bad as it was when I first started having problems with it. I will continue to take them and hope that the pill company isn't taking away anything or putting anything bad in them"

For Birth Control "Horrible. No sex drive. My feet swelled up SO much that they looked like balloons and it was painful to walk. Don’t get me started on the mood swings. I stopped taking it and felt better a few days later. My feet weren’t swollen anymore either."

For Acne "I've had a pretty good experience with this oral contraceptive since I started taking it about a year ago. I originally started taking it as both a birth control method and to help manage hormonal acne that I suffered with as a result of a previous IUD that left me with a hormonal imbalance. Since using Tri-Previfem or Tri-Estarylla (depending on what my pharmacy has at the time) my acne has become significantly better, and when something does pop up it is much easier to manage. Also, cramping during menstruation is no longer an issue for me. The only "negative" side effect I've noticed is that I'm left with "swollen" painful/sore breasts nearly every day."

For Birth Control "Within the first couple months of taking this pill, I gained 15 pounds. Then after taking it for around 3 months, it began causing me to get a yeast infection after my period for 4 months straight. However, I continued taking it in hopes it would level out. It soon did and I have now lost the weight I gained, my face has cleared almost completely (I had terrible breakouts all over) and (knock on wood) have not gotten anymore yeast infections. I now have no problems with it and I take it everyday at the same time so I also have not had to worry about pregnancy scares. The only side effect I notice from it now is that it has really Increased my sex drive."

For Acne "This bc helped with acne but I also used epiduo with it. The first month was great no nausea or headaches(I'm prone to headaches). My acne was mild and this pill helped clear it up a lot, along with epiduo. The 2nd month was where all the problems started. Within 2 days of the first week I started getting headaches along with nausea and vomiting. It was awful I threw up every night while taking this. I had a headache for 4 days straight as well. I'm not even to my second week of the second month of taking this and I can't do it anymore it's not worth it for me. My hormones are crazy, I'm not use to being so emotional and crying all the time. I wanted this pill to help clear up my mild acne, but I don't care anymore, this isn't worth it."

For Acne "I've been on this birth control for only two weeks. The only positive think that's come out of it is my boobs are growing. But literally on only the second pill, I was throwing up. I take the pill at 6:30am a little after breakfast because that's literally the only time that I can because I'm so busy and by 11:00am I'm nauseous and vomiting until about 1:00 in the afternoon. More recently some days are great but others are terrible. On top of that my boyfriend and I have gotten into fights lately because of the anxiety that this pill is giving me. I'm just worried about everything lately now and it's pushing him away. The whole reason I got on this pill was for him and I to be able to have more sex but it's also killing my sex drive."
