For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about three months and have decided to stop taking the pill. I have had major mood swings while taking this pill, as well as being nauseated and just not feeling well. The pill is effective as a birth control, but the side effects were not worth having."

For Birth Control "Even though this pill worked as intended to prevent pregnancy, I wouldn't recommend it based on the side effects I experienced. I had been on Sprintec for about a year (which I love) when there was a mix-up at the drug store and I got this instead. I decided to stick with it for three months to see if the symptoms cleared, and they did not. My period lasted longer than usual, and I experienced crippling pain during it. I started to break out in acne on my face and body, and I was having a difficult time controlling my emotions, and I became upset all the time. Do yourselves a favor and just use Sprintec!!"

For Acne "I was on this birth control for at least 6 months, and my acne has gotten worse. It's now evolved to big cystic pimples before and after my period, and they stick around for at least two weeks at a time. Majority on my chin, but I have had a couple on my forehead in between my eyebrows, which I still have the scar. It's gotten to the point where I still have pimples from the previous breakout, and new ones formed right next to them. Also, this medication has made my cramps worse. I have switched from the brand."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control about 2 months after becoming sexually active. Still being in the same relationship, I have seen major changes. This medicine works great to prevent pregnancy, but I've had uncontrollable mood swings along with bad anxiety involving my relationship. As a person that has always had long-term relationships, I have never felt THIS crazy about a partner. And not a good crazy. Even though I know he is faithful, I constantly have panic attacks whenever he leaves from worrying about our relationship. I am, and was never, the type of woman to be insecure, but this medicine is driving me insane, and I would recommend trying others."

For Acne "Still cannot get rid of this acne. I took this for a month, and my face went from having 2 pimples to a full-blown breakout. Acne everywhere. Ruined my skin. I heard it gets worse before it gets better, but my skin was already great, so this did nothing but ruin it. Now I've been off it for almost a month, and my face is slowly healing, but these scars are everywhere :(. Don't take this birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for the past 5 years now. When I first began this pill, I had no issues, it immediately regulated my period and decreased cramping and acne. However, over the past few years, I have noticed an increase in negative side effects associated with this pill. I find myself to become randomly depressed, emotional, and angry. I have little to no sex drive, as well as terrible migraines during the week before my period. I have been prescribed 800 mg ibuprofen for these migraines, as my gynecologist suggested it could be due to low estrogen levels, and they don't even help. I am considering changing pills due to the uncomfortable side effects."

For Birth Control "I've only been on this pill for two weeks. I have chills where it feels like I have a fever-dizziness-severe migraines-neck pain-constant hunger-10 lb weight gain-confusion-nausea-earaches-fatigue-stomach pain-anxiety-weakness-no sex drive. I mean, the list goes on and on! This pill is awful. Stopping it today. The side effects are just not worth it!"

For Birth Control "I had many different side effects that I know are not normal. I just started this medication, and the side effects were horrible. Week 1, day 1 and 2, I started off abnormally tired and fatigued. Day 3, 4, 5, I was dizzy and had spells of hunger and being nauseous, randomly cried (at separate times) on top of being drowsy and overly tired. Day 6, 7, I got even more nauseous with cramping. Next week, day 1, I had to urinate/pee all the time! Day 2 randomly cried, couldn't control pee, plus had to pee all the time and hurt when I urinated. Day 3, all of those, plus vagina was itchy. Day 4 had to pee all the time, stung when I peed, vagina was itchy/burned. Day 5 I was super tired again and no burning/itching. NOT WORTH IT! Going to change meds."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for almost 2 years now. It has worked wonders, even though I did gain 30 lbs, mainly because of the way that I eat. My acne has cleared a lot, and it works definitely for birth control. I am active a lot and not pregnant. I'm also moody at times, but I don't want to switch pills because I feel no side effects. Light periods as well and always on time."

For Birth Control "I read the reviews but was still eager to try it -- do not take this. This pill has made me extremely depressed and has caused me to have mood swings. I'm surprised my boyfriend is still with me because since this pill I have been depressed, unmotivated, moody, and have had no sex drive! I do not recommend this pill to anyone."

For Birth Control "Previfem kept me from getting pregnant, so that's great, but it gave me awful, painful, 2+ week-long withdrawal bleeds. I would start bleeding right in the middle of my active pills, almost two full weeks before my placebo pills started. The bleeding didn't really let up until the placebo pills were gone. It wasn't minor bleeding, either; it was heavy and accompanied by cramps/backaches. I would get migraines here and there, too, ranging in severity. I thought these symptoms would let up eventually, but I took it for three months with no luck. Personally, I just couldn't deal with the excessively long withdrawal bleeds. I switched over to Microgestin Fe 1/20 after three cycles and have had a much better experience so far."

For Birth Control "Negative side effects: - Diarrhea for the first 4-5 days of taking it - Still heavy flow periods - Tension headaches every day - Breast tenderness - I feel that I've been eating more (not sure if that's because of the birth control) - Heavy PMSing before periods Positive side effects: - Shorter period - Less acne - Fewer cramps"

For Acne "I've been on this Tri-Previfem birth control since April, and my face has never been more broken out. I have never really had bad acne, but now I have it all around my mouth, and it's very painful. I have tried many face washes and creams to get rid of it, but nothing has worked. I also have terrible mood swings that started when I got on the pill. Definitely would not recommend at all."

For Birth Control "I just started taking this birth control, and I have absolutely no complaints. I'm a psycho about my skin, and so far, it hasn't affected it in any way, and it could possibly be making it better. My sex drive, if anything, has increased while on this pill, and I have gained no weight! Everyone's different, so don't take all of the reviews too seriously! The only thing that I've noticed is that the first few weeks of my first pack, I was super emotional, but that occurs with any birth control at first! My boobs also get a little tender the first 2 weeks of each pack, but it's nothing that I can't handle, on a scale of 1-10, it's probably a 1.5 on the pain scale for tenderness, so nothing to worry about at all! It obviously also has prevented pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Tri-Sprintec for years when my pharmacy started carrying Tri-Previfem. I switched, thinking it would affect me the same. However, I started getting headaches often, feeling weak, my face broke out, and I had spotting. I know that these effects may come when switching brands, but when I switched from Ortho TriCyclen Lo to its generic, then back to brand, then to Tri-Sprintec, I have never had any problems. I am a pharmacy technician, and I have had several customers that have had trouble when switching to Previfem or Tri-Previfem. I will be switching back to Tri-Sprintec once the pharmacy special orders it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Previfem going on my fourth month. I have noticed an increase in breast size, extra water weight, tenderness in breasts, along with nausea and headaches. It doesn't seem to be cooperating with my body, but I haven't gotten pregnant, which is good. I don't get pimples as much as I used to, and I'm more emotional. This is my first time on birth control, and I am not satisfied with it. I will be going back to my doctor for a change."

For Birth Control "So far, been on this for about 3 months now... And I've gained weight rapidly. My mood swings are way off the wall. I'm tired just about every day, even after countless hours of rest. My periods are extremely abnormal, in which they never were before. Random spotting...which is extra annoying. My past period cycle was so weird because I've just gotten it, and it looked like it was going away, even though it was lighter, it lasted a lot longer than usual. You definitely get pregnancy-like symptoms...such as the bloating, excessive eating, sensitive nose, mood swings, and definitely lots of fluids releasing from your body."

For Birth Control "I have been using this birth control for a little over 2 months now, and even though it has worked so far for preventing pregnancy, the side effects are terrible. I thought at first that I was just sick, but I would only feel sick an hour after the pill. I take it at night before bed, the nausea is so bad it affects my sleep. And the first thing that happens when I wake up is very painful cramps and even more nausea. I get very long and painful headaches, and my emotions are all over the place-from angry and annoyed to anxious, then sad and crying for no reason. Along with all that, my breasts are sore. Just putting on a bra makes me cringe. The best way to describe the symptoms of this pill is pregnancy symptoms on steroids. Not recommended!!!"

For Birth Control "I originally started this medication due to chronic migraines caused by hormonal imbalance. When I first started the pill, my acne had reached its worst. I told myself to stick it through, it was the only thing helping the prevention of my headaches and migraines. In the 3rd month, my skin completely cleared. My boobs went from just fitting a D 32 to DD 34! I gained no weight from it, still had my sex drive, and it did a very good job of keeping me from getting pregnant. It also made my period lighter, less painful, and 3 days shorter. I remained on the pill for about a year and a half before I started experiencing bad nausea every time I missed a pill, and I also got really bad anxiety in the end. Had to stop taking it eventually. Miss my boobs but not the nausea or anxiety."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for the last 7 years. I love it. I always know exactly when I'm going to get my period, and they only last 4-5 days. I do get moody right before, and breast soreness/cramping the day of, but it's not anything crazy. No weight gain, and my skin still breaks out around my period. I've never been pregnant, so that's definitely a plus too!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I thought I was losing it until I read these reviews. The first couple of weeks on this were okay, then I have been spotting... which leads to heavy bleeding... to light bleeding... but now this has been going on for 3 weeks. I thought it was finally ending, and today I had heavy bleeding at work. Through my super plus tampon and all over my dress. Yep, awful. My doctor told me it may take 3 months to adjust. I'm beyond miserable. This pill sucks."

For Birth Control "I rated this poorly because of the lack of response from my doctor. Shortly after starting Tri-Previfem, I developed multiple gastrointestinal issues. None of my doctors or nurses (ObGyn, GP) took me seriously and insisted it was in my head or the result of some other unrelated issue. I finally decided to stop taking it, and within a week, I was able to go through a day without feeling nauseous or vomiting. These types of side effects need to be discussed more because they can be debilitating."

For Birth Control "I had a very negative reaction with this birth control. I only took the first pill... ONE pill... and the entirety of the next day I had chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, blurry vision, and anxiety. I honestly felt like I was going to die. My chest felt like it was going to explode. I went to urgent care, and they found all of my vitals to be completely normal, but that the pill was making me physically feel these effects that weren't really there. They told me that I didn't have to stop taking it, but I never took another one because I would rather not be on birth control at all than to feel like that ever again."

For Birth Control "Works fabulous. Been on it for 7 years, always get my period on the same day. Never any nausea. I get emotional the day before my period starts, but it's whatever. My boobs got huge, which was nice. No pregnancy scares either... at all. Works fabulous. Highly recommend... I haven't had any issues like other people say."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control for 2 months. Worked well for birth control. Weight was stable. No acne or mood swings. I did, however, have an extreme amount of vaginal discharge all month long when my period was not on. So much so, I am switching to another birth control."
