For Acne "I was told that birth control can take up to 3 full months to start working for acne and 4-6 months to see full results. I started to notice my skin clearing around 2.5 months. It's been almost 3.5 months now, and my skin is 99% clear of active breakouts. This is the first birth control I have ever used, and I have not had any negative side effects from this at all. The only reason I am not giving it a 10 is because it has not helped regulate the oil production on my face at all, but you can't win them all. Overall, I am very happy with this pill and can't wait to see how my skin continues to improve."

For Birth Control "Best decision ever. I love this birth control, it regulates my period. I've never had a pregnancy scare (my boyfriend and I don't use condoms) or acne. When I first started taking it, my breasts were sore, and I gained a little weight for a very short time, but it went away. Other than that, I love it."

For Birth Control "Took it for a month and experienced horrible side effects. Constant cramping out of nowhere, painful sex, zero sex drive, swollen, extremely tender breasts, mood swings, anger and aggression particularly, some depression, constant fatigue, bloating, and an irregular period after years of it being regular. Had to stop taking it to get my sanity back."

For Birth Control "I'm so relieved I read all of these reviews. For the past few months after my pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem, I have been so depressed and anxious, crying at random times whether I'm at work or home. I nearly destroyed my relationship, and I've had absolutely no desire to do anything I used to love. I'm getting off this immediately."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 months and have not become pregnant. My boyfriend and I don't use any other birth control methods. My skin has cleared up, and I haven't gained any weight (although I work out regularly and eat well). The first month, my breasts swelled up to over a cup size bigger, but after I finished my first pack, they went back to their regular size. I would recommend this pill to anyone looking for a method of birth control. The reason I gave it a 9 and not a 10 is because it has caused me some mood swings. Nothing unbearable. My sex drive is also the same as before."

For Birth Control "I am now on the last week of my second pack of Tri-Previfem. I started using this medicine only for birth control, and it has caused many side effects. The first few weeks, I had severe headaches, and since I started taking it, I have noticed weight gain. Also, my breasts have definitely become bigger and are always very sore. The first month of taking it, my period was much heavier than usual and lasted longer. I have noticed I have been more depressed as well. However, for the purpose of birth control, I haven't gotten pregnant. But I think I will be switching to a different one soon."

For Birth Control "This birth control has worked 100% in preventing pregnancies. However, it makes me beyond depressed, irritable, angry, and moody. It started out to be right before my period, but now it is all the time. I never had these issues before taking Tri-Previfem. It also makes me super hungry right before my period, where I want to eat everything in sight. But my major issue is definitely the depression, anger, anxiety, and crying spells it has caused. Tonight is my last night taking this pill, thank God I am finally done with the pack!!! I do not recommend!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Tri-Previfem for over a year now and have suffered from an emotional breakdown once a month, sometimes more often, since a couple of months after I began taking it. This is not typical of me at all, and I have been very scared and confused by my extreme emotions. Today I came to this page and read the reviews and was startled to see that so many people were experiencing the same thing as me. I am going to stop taking it immediately. Not worth it :("

For Birth Control "I was switched from Sprintec to Previfem by the company who ships my birth control (my insurance required them to be mailed). I have been on Sprintec for 5 years with no problems. I was on vacation with my fiancé when I started the first week of my new pills. All was good until the second week of taking these pills. I started to have horrible cramps, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, sore breasts, acne, and a very bad anxiety problem. I would compare it to pregnancy symptoms on steroids. I called the mailing company and asked why they suddenly switched when my prescription was specifically for Sprintec, and they couldn't answer me. Needless to say, I was in a panic until I found that other women had experienced the same thing."

For Birth Control "I got on this birth control a month and a half after I had my first baby. Everything was fine, and it worked well to help me not get pregnant until the depression started. The doctors thought I had PPD, it was so bad I couldn't go 20 mins without having a panic attack. The doctors put me on depression meds also, and that completely made me feel like I was on autopilot. After reading everyone's comments in here, I'm convinced that my high anxiety and depression are caused by this. I will be stopping immediately. Take my advice, use condoms, and don't let a birth control take your mental health."

For Acne "I've only been on this for two weeks, and my acne is a million times worse. I'm so embarrassed to go in public because it's never been this bad before. Is it normal for it to make it worse before better? I also have not stopped bleeding since I had my period. What is going on?"

For Birth Control "The only complaint I have about this birth control is bad tension headaches and fatigue, but I'll take that over weight gain and acne, which fortunately this birth control doesn't cause at all! It also made my cysts go away and is free or really cheap with insurance. Would recommend to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I personally do not like this pill. This is my second month of being on it. The first month was good, like normal. I noticed that my period was a day later than usual and that my period cramps were worse than before (I struggle with severe cramps at least 2 times a year). The moment I started my second month on this pill, all hell broke loose. Day 2, Monday, I felt so sick and had a massive headache that no matter what I took would not leave. Day 3, I still felt so sick to my stomach and still had a headache. I had to get Excedrin just to ease the headache. Since I started my second month, I have noticed: weight gain/bloating, sore breasts, more sensitivity to touch, headaches, no appetite, nausea, depression, no motivation, and lack of sex drive. After this month, I'm going back to my original pills, Falmina, I don't care if I have to pay for them. I would rather pay $14 than feel like rubbish every day. Take this pill at your own risk."

For Birth Control "If I would have stayed on this medication for a few years, I would have developed Crohn's disease. Being on this birth control killed my sex drive, gave me acne that I never had before, and completely ruined my upper GI while on it. If I were to go drink a beer, I would immediately throw it up. I had intense stomach pains every day while on this and constantly felt nauseated. My quality of life went down so much, and my depression and anxiety increased to the point where panic attacks were somewhat frequent. Quitting this birth control was the best thing I did for myself. It ruined me for so long. Hate this stuff so much."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This has been my first month taking this birth control pill, and the reason I decided to take it was to help regulate my period. Well, now I have been bleeding longer than usual. I have really, really bad cramps. I cry for no reason, I get mad at my husband and my daughter for no reason, and I'm constantly depressed. I can't take it anymore."

For Birth Control "I am on Tri-Previfem, and it's been about 7 weeks, and I've already consulted with my doctor to change birth control. Overall, my experience on Tri-Previfem was awful. I bled the entire first month, and now, on my second month, it's causing me to have painful intercourse."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control, Tri-Previfem, for several years now and have never experienced any bad side effects. My periods are always on time, no heavy bleeding, my sex drive has not decreased, no weight gain or acne. This is the only birth control that I will use. Highly recommended!"

For Acne "Absolutely do NOT take this. I have never had acne, and the second I started taking it, my chin exploded into pimples everywhere! Not to mention how depressed I was and the anxiety it gave me. I also had no libido whatsoever! Definitely do NOT recommend, this is horrible!"

For Birth Control "I'm getting close to my sixth month on this birth control, and I have some good and some bad things to say about it. My acne has cleared up a lot, and my periods are lighter. On the contrary, I get my period about 4 days early. My breasts have gotten much larger and are constantly in pain. I also feel extremely depressed. This pill is free, which is really nice, but I'm thinking about trying to switch to a pill that doesn't make me feel so down all of the time."

For Birth Control "I'm 19 years old and started taking this birth control after my first one worked perfectly for a few months, until I began to get my period every 8 days. I've been on this pill for about two weeks, and I already hate it. I'm constantly moody, depressed, and overly emotional. It's affecting my relationship with my family, friends, and boyfriend. It doesn't help with acne, I've never had acne until I began taking this. I also have severe pain every day in my lower stomach area."

For Birth Control "Absolute worst side effects I've ever experienced. Depression and aggression are now a part of my everyday life. I've been on this for 3 months. I'm late every month, which never happened before. I'm a newlywed, and my sex life is almost non-existent. My period is light, and I barely have cramps. I have not gotten pregnant. It isn't worth it. This sadness and self-induced seclusion are terrible. I'll be burning my pack tonight."

For Birth Control "Well, I see a lot of people saying they get nauseous in the first few days of starting birth control. That's normal. But every time I start a pack or miss by a few hours, I'm awful nauseous. I've not gotten pregnant, so that's good. Ever since I started this pill, I've had ovary/vagina pains. But I'm not sure if it is an ovarian cyst or if it's something different or if it just happened not related to the pill. I've got bad anxiety now and cry a lot. I was never like this before, but now I am. This isn't a bad pill, though. Works differently for everyone. The plus side is I used to have cramps to where I would cry. It would hurt so bad. Now I have about none, and my period is lighter."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. I was prescribed the name brand of this medicine, and my insurance decided that they would give me Tri-Previfem instead. For the first 3 or so months, things were fine, no big differences. After that, though, goodness gracious. Anxiety, depression, mood swings, NO SEX DRIVE, dryness 'down there,' no matter how bad I wanted to be. It's absolutely a horrible feeling not being able to be ready for your partner, and that puts such a stress on a relationship. On the menstrual time...... picture every horrible pregnancy symptom you could possibly have, triple it, and add to it the normals of your regular period. HEADACHES. If only the 1-10 scale had negative numbers. Save yourselves and stay away from this medicine."

For Birth Control "I've had a great experience with this pill! I've been taking this for 7 months now and have seen little to no side effects like others are claiming. My periods are regular, only 4-5 days a month, and I know exactly when they're coming! Also, I haven't gotten pregnant, which is a plus. Helped with my acne a lot, and although my severe cramps are not completely diminished, Advil does the trick - definitely made a difference!"
