For Birth Control "I used to take Tri-Sprintec, but my pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem. I have been on it for about a year, and at first, it was alright, but after a few months, I noticed things were starting to change. I started feeling depressed, developing anxiety, and I noticed my libido was declining. I didn't really think much of it, but now it is getting worse and worse. I have been having anxiety attacks, which I never had before taking this. I have been more depressed than ever before. And don't even get me started on my libido. I am only 21, and I never want to have sex anymore. I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years, and I used to always want to do it. Now, it seems like I have to force myself to do anything, and I shouldn't have to do that."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Previfem for 3 months now, and it's been quite the whirlwind. Firstly, my periods are so much better, my cramps are non-existent, and my menstrual cycle is punctual. Additionally, my insurance covers all of it, so it's absolutely free. Although this may sound like a miracle period medicine, it certainly has its cons (for me). I've become extremely sensitive and needy. As a nursing student, life is stressful and lonely enough to deal with, this medicine has amplified my stress, anxiety, and depression. I never thought I would be one of the unfortunate ones to experience the ugly side effects of a medication. This may be fitting for others, but certainly not for me, I need my sanity back."

For Birth Control "I was first put on Tri-Sprintec, which worked wonderfully for me, but my pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem. I've good news and bad news about this pill. The good news: I've not gotten pregnant. The bad news: after being switched over, I've realized a shocking change in my mood. I'm much more depressed, and I have developed a case of anxiety. I have experienced several anxiety attacks after being switched to this pill. I'm contemplating asking my doctor to change my prescription. If you wish to not get pregnant, then take this pill, but you may undergo dramatic changes in your mood."

For Birth Control "I was on this for about two months, and I thought I was going insane. My depression was really bad, and my stomach hurt, and I have severe panic and anxiety attacks. Don't get this medicine if you have depression. It'll save you the tears and fights in your relationship."

For Birth Control "As a birth control, this is very effective. However, after being on it for 11 months, the side effects did a complete 180 on me for the worse. One day, I woke up and felt so extremely depressed, and from that point on, my whole summer spiraled downwards. I experienced hellish anxiety, fatigue, confusion, headaches and migraines, major depression, and suicidal thoughts, and the list could go on forever. I have always been mentally and physically healthy, so experiencing such a terrible summer was a life-changing experience. I have been 3 months clean from that poison, and I do not recommend anyone to take it. It was like feeding the devil into my soul. Please, please, please do not take this."

For Birth Control "I'm so relieved I read all of these reviews. For the past few months after my pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem, I have been so depressed and anxious, crying at random times whether I'm at work or home. I nearly destroyed my relationship, and I've had absolutely no desire to do anything I used to love. I'm getting off this immediately."

For Birth Control "This birth control has worked 100% in preventing pregnancies. However, it makes me beyond depressed, irritable, angry, and moody. It started out to be right before my period, but now it is all the time. I never had these issues before taking Tri-Previfem. It also makes me super hungry right before my period, where I want to eat everything in sight. But my major issue is definitely the depression, anger, anxiety, and crying spells it has caused. Tonight is my last night taking this pill, thank God I am finally done with the pack!!! I do not recommend!"

For Birth Control "I was switched from Sprintec to Previfem by the company who ships my birth control (my insurance required them to be mailed). I have been on Sprintec for 5 years with no problems. I was on vacation with my fiancé when I started the first week of my new pills. All was good until the second week of taking these pills. I started to have horrible cramps, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea, sore breasts, acne, and a very bad anxiety problem. I would compare it to pregnancy symptoms on steroids. I called the mailing company and asked why they suddenly switched when my prescription was specifically for Sprintec, and they couldn't answer me. Needless to say, I was in a panic until I found that other women had experienced the same thing."

For Birth Control "I got on this birth control a month and a half after I had my first baby. Everything was fine, and it worked well to help me not get pregnant until the depression started. The doctors thought I had PPD, it was so bad I couldn't go 20 mins without having a panic attack. The doctors put me on depression meds also, and that completely made me feel like I was on autopilot. After reading everyone's comments in here, I'm convinced that my high anxiety and depression are caused by this. I will be stopping immediately. Take my advice, use condoms, and don't let a birth control take your mental health."

For Birth Control "If I would have stayed on this medication for a few years, I would have developed Crohn's disease. Being on this birth control killed my sex drive, gave me acne that I never had before, and completely ruined my upper GI while on it. If I were to go drink a beer, I would immediately throw it up. I had intense stomach pains every day while on this and constantly felt nauseated. My quality of life went down so much, and my depression and anxiety increased to the point where panic attacks were somewhat frequent. Quitting this birth control was the best thing I did for myself. It ruined me for so long. Hate this stuff so much."

For Acne "Absolutely do NOT take this. I have never had acne, and the second I started taking it, my chin exploded into pimples everywhere! Not to mention how depressed I was and the anxiety it gave me. I also had no libido whatsoever! Definitely do NOT recommend, this is horrible!"

For Birth Control "Well, I see a lot of people saying they get nauseous in the first few days of starting birth control. That's normal. But every time I start a pack or miss by a few hours, I'm awful nauseous. I've not gotten pregnant, so that's good. Ever since I started this pill, I've had ovary/vagina pains. But I'm not sure if it is an ovarian cyst or if it's something different or if it just happened not related to the pill. I've got bad anxiety now and cry a lot. I was never like this before, but now I am. This isn't a bad pill, though. Works differently for everyone. The plus side is I used to have cramps to where I would cry. It would hurt so bad. Now I have about none, and my period is lighter."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. I was prescribed the name brand of this medicine, and my insurance decided that they would give me Tri-Previfem instead. For the first 3 or so months, things were fine, no big differences. After that, though, goodness gracious. Anxiety, depression, mood swings, NO SEX DRIVE, dryness 'down there,' no matter how bad I wanted to be. It's absolutely a horrible feeling not being able to be ready for your partner, and that puts such a stress on a relationship. On the menstrual time...... picture every horrible pregnancy symptom you could possibly have, triple it, and add to it the normals of your regular period. HEADACHES. If only the 1-10 scale had negative numbers. Save yourselves and stay away from this medicine."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control about 2 months after becoming sexually active. Still being in the same relationship, I have seen major changes. This medicine works great to prevent pregnancy, but I've had uncontrollable mood swings along with bad anxiety involving my relationship. As a person that has always had long-term relationships, I have never felt THIS crazy about a partner. And not a good crazy. Even though I know he is faithful, I constantly have panic attacks whenever he leaves from worrying about our relationship. I am, and was never, the type of woman to be insecure, but this medicine is driving me insane, and I would recommend trying others."

I mean, the list goes on and on! This pill is awful. Stopping it today. The side effects are just not worth it!"

For Birth Control "I originally started this medication due to chronic migraines caused by hormonal imbalance. When I first started the pill, my acne had reached its worst. I told myself to stick it through, it was the only thing helping the prevention of my headaches and migraines. In the 3rd month, my skin completely cleared. My boobs went from just fitting a D 32 to DD 34! I gained no weight from it, still had my sex drive, and it did a very good job of keeping me from getting pregnant. It also made my period lighter, less painful, and 3 days shorter. I remained on the pill for about a year and a half before I started experiencing bad nausea every time I missed a pill, and I also got really bad anxiety in the end. Had to stop taking it eventually. Miss my boobs but not the nausea or anxiety."

For Birth Control "I had a very negative reaction with this birth control. I only took the first pill... ONE pill... and the entirety of the next day I had chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, blurry vision, and anxiety. I honestly felt like I was going to die. My chest felt like it was going to explode. I went to urgent care, and they found all of my vitals to be completely normal, but that the pill was making me physically feel these effects that weren't really there. They told me that I didn't have to stop taking it, but I never took another one because I would rather not be on birth control at all than to feel like that ever again."

For Acne "Well, I said I would be back. :) I check this too much anyway! I'm now on my second month, about to start my third week tomorrow. I am pretty sure my body noticed that I was going on a higher dose of estrogen because I broke out. I have been broken out around the cheeks, but I just broke out on my forehead. :'( The biggest thing about this medicine is the depression, and even bigger, the anxiety. I still have a sex drive, but my anxiety is unbearable! I can't think straight. I can't relax even though I try. I'm staying on it, obviously, seeing as it hasn't even been 3 months yet, and I would do just about anything to have acne not be a problem. I start school in the second week of August. Please wish me luck!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for 6 months, and I have finally decided to stop taking it. Although it did help eliminate my acne, regulate my cycle, and prevent pregnancy, the cons outweigh the pros for me. At first, I didn't really experience too many negative side effects, but as time has gone on, I have become severely depressed, moody, and unmotivated. I am constantly tired and have become extremely forgetful about even simple things. I have become overly anxious and paranoid. I did have anxiety at times before the pill, but it was never this bad. My breasts are constantly sore, and I have absolutely no sex drive anymore. None at all. I know it's this pill causing this, and I need to stop taking it so I can feel like myself again."

Also, my anxiety is worse than it's ever been, and I really feel like dying. I'm switching back to Sprintec in hopes that I feel better. Stay away from this."

For Birth Control "Been on this birth control for a couple of months now, and I have been experiencing very bad anxiety, which I’ve never had previously. I can honestly say that this is the worst birth control I’ve ever taken. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been on it very long, but I genuinely don’t care. I have to get off of this trash birth control."
