For Acne "Well, I said I would be back. :) I check this too much anyway! I'm now on my second month, about to start my third week tomorrow. I am pretty sure my body noticed that I was going on a higher dose of estrogen because I broke out. I have been broken out around the cheeks, but I just broke out on my forehead. :'( The biggest thing about this medicine is the depression, and even bigger, the anxiety. I still have a sex drive, but my anxiety is unbearable! I can't think straight. I can't relax even though I try. I'm staying on it, obviously, seeing as it hasn't even been 3 months yet, and I would do just about anything to have acne not be a problem. I start school in the second week of August. Please wish me luck!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Previfem since 2014. Since my insurance wouldn't cover Ortho Tri-Cyclen, I like that it helped with my heavy periods and completely took away those bad cramps I would get every month. About 3 months ago, I started feeling so bad when it was a couple of days before my period was supposed to come. I would get so moody, depressed, and at times, if something really gets to me, I would really flip out. I really didn't pay it much attention until I started to get them more around the same time each month. It's not as bad as it was when I first started having problems with it. I will continue to take them and hope that the pill company isn't taking away anything or putting anything bad in them."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for over three weeks, and the side effects are horrible. I've gained 10 lbs in just these three weeks. I've been bloating really bad and thought I was pregnant. I originally got on this pill for mainly my acne, and the pill made it worse. I've woken up with terrible migraines and being nauseous. My mood swings are bad, and sometimes I'm depressed because of the weight gain. I couldn't ride my horse, the soreness of my breasts was terrible. I'm thinking about getting off this pill and trying a different one."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was diagnosed with PCOS, which caused abnormal periods to the point where I wasn't having them for years. When I was diagnosed at 14 with it, they immediately put me on Tri-Previfem. For the first 6 months, everything was going great. Then the mood swings started, I suffered from depression before, and then this just made it worse. I couldn't stop crying and never wanted to get out of bed. Last week, I stopped taking this and switched to Junel FE. For birth control, acne, and period regulator, I'd give this a 10/10, but I wouldn't consider being on it for two years or longer like I was because it can greatly mess with your emotions."

For Birth Control "I've taken this pill for two weeks now, and I've had a constant migraine. I just had a baby three months ago, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Also had very heavy bleeding for a week, then it would stop and start again. Also, I'm very moody and sad, where I wasn't before I started taking this medicine. If I still have migraines at the end of this pack, I may switch."

For Birth Control "Please do not take this. I haven't been this depressed in a year, but I truly feel like this has made it come back with a vengeance. Just don't take it. Also, my anxiety is worse than it's ever been, and I really feel like dying. I'm switching back to Sprintec in hopes that I feel better. Stay away from this."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS. There's no other way to put it. I've been on it for going on five months, and ever since day one, it has been awful. I've become severely depressed, I cry all the time, I feel nauseous 24/7. My anxiety has gone through the roof. I feel like my whole life has changed for the worse ever since I started this medicine."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control, Tri-Previfem, for 8 years. I just got switched today after talking to my OB/GYN and realizing that it was causing anxiety, depression, low sex drive, headaches, and extreme mood swings the week before my period. I thought it was all normal or just me, but she said it was the medicine. I have now been switched to Mili. It did regulate my periods, but I would have 7-9 days of fairly heavy bleeding each month, which is not supposed to be a thing. Very effective in preventing pregnancies, as I have not been pregnant while taking it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I switched to this pill about 7-8 months ago, and it has been hell ever since. I became very depressed, anxiety was heightened, exhausted all the time, no motivation/energy, did not get out of bed, became very negative and angry, and had no libido. I would sleep for 12 hours and still be tired and take naps during the day. This affected my relationship, and my boyfriend ended up leaving me due to my depression. I have now quit the birth control, and I feel like a brand new person and back to my old self. Ladies, if you're having these side effects and it's affecting your relationship with your significant other, family, or friends, do not wait it out!!!! I wish I could go back and quit the pill a long time ago!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for 6 months, and I have finally decided to stop taking it. Although it did help eliminate my acne, regulate my cycle, and prevent pregnancy, the cons outweigh the pros for me. At first, I didn't really experience too many negative side effects, but as time has gone on, I have become severely depressed, moody, and unmotivated. I am constantly tired and have become extremely forgetful about even simple things. I have become overly anxious and paranoid. I did have anxiety at times before the pill, but it was never this bad. My breasts are constantly sore, and I have absolutely no sex drive anymore. None at all. I know it's this pill causing this, and I need to stop taking it so I can feel like myself again."

For Acne "Do not ever take this. I'm serious. I strongly advise you not to. My doctor lied to my face and said this wasn't causing my problems, but right when I came off, poof, they went away. I'm telling you, I had the worst anxiety and panic attacks continuously for days when I got to the fourth month of taking this. It literally ran my body and mind down to the ground. Worst thing ever. Do not take this! It literally made me feel like I was going insane, not to mention the depression and all other side effects with it that I never really noticed until I put the pieces together."

For Birth Control "This birth control worked fine for the first 3 months I was on it. But then I started getting large, vicious acne on my face, which is super unusual for me! I never had a problem with acne, not even in middle or high school. So horrible that now that I'm in college, I am having to deal with near cystic acne. Not to mention the horrible, severe depression that I suffered from and am still trying to overcome after being off this pill for about 2 weeks. It almost ended my year-long relationship. However, my boyfriend and I never had protected sex, and I never had a pregnancy scare. But, I will say that the pill is different for everyone!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on Previfem for 3 months, and I am still experiencing breakthrough bleeding that lasts until my withdrawal bleed. I take the pill at 6:15 every morning and have never been off by more than 15 minutes. The only positives are that my breakthrough bleeding occurs like clockwork (after 12 active pills), and it made my skin better. But the bleeding itself drains the life out of me and makes me really depressed. I gained 7 pounds on the pill, but I think I had a hormone imbalance that made me lose weight before that. I had lost 10 pounds while eating everything in sight before that, and I had a period that faded into light spotting but would not stop for almost 2 months (only stopped because of the pill). I am switching pills next month."

For Birth Control "This medication is hell in a pack. I urge everyone to PLEASE do not take this. I ended up with severe depression and anxiety all over again, the nausea and vomiting was ridiculous and the yeast infections—my god. I had a yeast infection probably the whole time on this pill. I vomited so much from these pills that I lost 12 pounds in about 2 weeks one time. The mood swings were so sad also. I didn’t realize this was all from the pill until my doc switched me to Tri-Sprintec for insurance reasons. Please don’t take this!!!!! It’s horrible on your body!!!! The only good thing was that I had absolutely no acne!"

For Birth Control "Up until last month, I'd had no negative side effects; no migraines (which are normal for me), no depression, regular anxiety, cleared my hormonal acne, regular if not strengthened sex drive, fairly regular periods. Two months ago, I had a long and heavy period. It was the first time I've ever bled through. Because of that, I was prescribed Trivora, which I hated. In the very beginning, my sex drive peaked, but that quickly ended because it made sex very painful and it lacked any pleasure. It also left me extremely depressed and crying constantly (I NEVER cry). I switched back to Tri-Previfem after only a week on Trivora. Everyone has a different experience, but mine was positive. P.S. it's only $9 at Walmart."

For Birth Control "I took this in conjunction with isotretinoin, so I can't confirm that the side effects I experienced were solely from the pill. I experienced depression, which I know is a side effect of the isotretinoin, but there's a chance the pill exacerbated it. I also bloated a lot, I didn't gain weight, but I couldn't lose any either. My face and breasts swelled up, which made my depression worse, I think. Everything went back to normal, bloating subsided, and I became much happier once I got off both medications. I wouldn't go back on this pill though, it scares me that I might go back to that time."

For Birth Control "I took this for 4 months. I had just gotten off of Orsythia, and that gave me terrible depression and anxiety throughout my menstrual cycle. This pill, however, did the same, BUT only for the 1st week. I thought for a bit that it was a fair trade-off for not getting pregnant. So I'll shorten this and make some pros and cons. Pros: Extremely regular period (I was before I took BC, however), only 4 days long (used to be 7-9), libido stayed the same, NO ACNE (a little breakout nearing period). Cons: Very bad memory problems (I'd forget what I was saying mid-sentence, and I usually keep track of things extremely well), I still had cramps, anxiety, self-image issues, worse vision, gained a bit of weight, very manic (very very happy or very very sad)."

For Acne "I began taking this birth control, Tri-Previfem, my freshman year of high school in hopes it would clear up my awful acne. The first three months were awful! My acne did get worse, and I was extremely insecure. However, by my sophomore year, I had the clearest skin ever and always received compliments. That being said, I did become extremely moody and irritable and gained around 15 lbs in a year. However, I am now a first-year college student, and I don't know if it's my body or the birth control, but now I experience period symptoms the entire week before my period and after, in which I'm extremely bloated, emotional, depressed, I get headaches, my skin doesn't seem to be as clear, and my appetite has gotten worse. I also am now getting yeast infections during my period, which sucks. I plan on switching birth control after this month."

For Birth Control "After years on Ortho, they forced me to switch when my insurance no longer covered it. My skin broke out, I gained 10 lbs, my libido was non-existent, I sweat constantly, and between migraines... which lasted for 2.5 out of 3 weeks I was on the pill... I had depression and breakthrough bleeding. Not something I would recommend."

For Birth Control "I started this pill for 3 months and nothing changed when it came to acne, and I like that my period starts exactly at the same time every month. However, I gained 15 pounds on this pill with no dietary or exercise changes, my sex drive has decreased, and I’ve been experiencing more depression and anxiety when it comes to panic attacks. I’m going to the obgyn to see if I can switch to the IUD."

For Birth Control "It's great for preventing pregnancy, but the side effects were terrible. It made me very moody, gave me insomnia, and mild depression. Those were the worst two months of taking birth control."

For Birth Control "I read the reviews but was still eager to try it -- do not take this. This pill has made me extremely depressed and has caused me to have mood swings. I'm surprised my boyfriend is still with me because since this pill I have been depressed, unmotivated, moody, and have had no sex drive! I do not recommend this pill to anyone."
