"I’m on the 2nd month of taking Femynor. I had nausea and headaches the first 4 days of taking it. I’d take it at 11 pm, but I’d wake up nauseous in the middle of the night. But it wasn’t bad to the point of throwing up. I will say I felt more affected emotionally. During the 3rd week, my emotions felt all over the place. I have a history of anxiety, and it did aggravate it. I cried for no reason, felt more anxious than usual, and some paranoia. This lasted about a week. During the last week of taking the sugar pills, I did not get a period. I only had very light spotting for 2 days. This is a big pro for me. No PMS or cramping at all. Yes, it was rough the first few weeks, but the side effects have worn off after the 1st month. This birth control is also inexpensive for me, I pay $8 monthly. Don’t let the reviews scare you, give it a try. It takes some time for your body to adjust. I hope it works for you, I will update at the end of month 2."

"When I first started taking this Femynor birth control pill, I was nauseous every night, I had the worst cystic acne on my cheeks and chin, and my periods were super heavy and long. I’m now on the five-month mark of taking this pill, and I’ve lost 15 pounds, my skin is clear, and I don’t feel nauseous anymore. My periods are heavy the first two days, and after that, they are super light and only last five days. I also never have spotting between periods. The key is to stay patient when taking this pill! The side effects were awful at first, and I wanted to stop taking it, but I’m glad I pushed through because out of the many birth control pills I’ve taken, this has to be the best one."

"I got on Femynor about 11 months ago, and it works as any good birth control for me. Unlike other women, I don’t have headaches or anxiety or dizziness. Prior to getting on birth control, my hormones were kinda off, and I had irregular periods. Now they are predictable and come on the same day for every cycle. I haven’t gained any weight either. I also haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so that’s a plus, lol."

"I've been using it for 6 months. Before I decided on this brand, I did research and read reviews. What I realized is that most BCs have the same negative reviews, and you'll never know how your body will react until you try it. I chose Femynor because of my acne. Month 1: Slight nausea (4 or 5 on a 10-point scale), no new acne except right before my period. Normal menstrual cycle, loss of appetite, decreased sweet craving. Month 2: Slight nausea, loss of appetite, decreased sweet craving, bloating, no acne breakouts, normal menstrual. Month 3: Slight nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, 3 whiteheads before my period. Weight loss from 3 months of decreased appetite. Months 4-6: No nausea, normal appetite, no acne at all, normal menstrual. So far, I am really happy with this birth control. I haven't had any major side effects, no weight gain, no anxiety, no depression, no mood changes, no irregular periods, no accidental pregnancies, and, best of all, NO ACNE!!!"

"This pill wasn’t as bad for me as for some people, it seems. I’ve been using the pill for a little over 2 months and do sometimes wake up feeling a bit drained of energy, but nothing that stops me from living my normal day-to-day life. I did start to get lots of acne on my back and chest at first, but it is now clearing up nicely. Lastly, I have not noticed weight gain at all, which is very nice since I was worried about that. Everyone has different experiences with birth control, so don’t let any of these reviews scare you if you are starting it or are about to!"

"I’ve had a great experience with Femynor. I originally started Sprintec, and then it was switched to Femynor, which is supposedly the same? But I have not had any side effects from it. I didn’t have acne before, but I did used to break out before my period or every so often, and now I NEVER break out. My skin is amazing on the pill. I’ve gained maybe five pounds, but I was also trying to gain at the time. I really don’t want to go off of it because I don’t want my skin to become terrible! I really hope that this can work for you as well and that you don’t experience anything bad. I never really realized how crazy different everyone’s experiences are with birth control. Good luck in finding what works for you!"

"I've been taking this pill, Femynor, for approximately a year. It started out okay, but a few months in, my periods started happening in the middle of the pack and lasting until the end. Also, the main reason my doctor recommended this pill to me was to clear up my acne. I have not seen a difference - I still break out a lot every month right around the second week, and my face doesn't tend to clear up until after my period... just for it to happen all over again. I came on here to see if anyone else had similar side effects and was surprised to see how many comments there are on anxiety/depression. I have never been one to be super anxious/depressed, but this past year, it has been so bad. I can't confirm this is the sole reason, but it does seem a little suspicious. I stopped taking it this month to see how I feel - I'm getting sick of trying out different pills though, this must be my fifth try. Just remember, everybody is different!"

"I've been on this pill for over a year, and these reviews seem dramatic, but everyone is different. For me, this pill is reliable and has cleared my acne, my moods are normal, nothing seems different than before. I feel like your body just takes time to adjust to medication. I see reviews saying they only took it for a week and felt bad, maybe you're still adjusting, or maybe your doctor prescribed you the wrong pill. Keep in mind everyone's body is different."

"I was on Sprintec for the longest time with no problems. When I went to get my refills, they gave me a different brand. I told them this was not the medication I was on and requested Sprintec. It helps with my period since before I had a breakthrough bleeding for about a month and a half. Since Sprintec, I have a period every 2 months. I went to CVS to get my refill, and they gave me 'Femynor.' I told the pharmacy AGAIN that this was not my medication. The pharmacy stated that Sprintec is discontinued and my doctor suggested this. I'm on day 3 and really feel like trash. First off, I'm moody. I feel like bursting out in tears for no reason, then really mad that I feel like this for no reason. I have been throwing up like crazy. I ate noodles which sat well until my friend got the SAME noodles, as soon as I smelled it, I started throwing up the noodles I just ate. I have a headache out of this world. I literally want to go home and sleep all day if I could. This is horrible! This is some trash!!"

"I've been taking birth control for 4 years now and have never once had symptoms or any difficulties. I started with a new MD, and they switched me to Femynor. Just in the first week, I have experienced intense nausea and vomiting, weak stomach, hot flashes, shortness of breath, and a drastic change in my emotions. Would not recommend!!! After the first week, I had to stop because I was getting so dehydrated from all the vomiting."

"I've been taking it for a month now, no bad side effects like I've read on here. I’ve been slightly more emotional and cry easier and get occasional headaches, but it may just be my body adjusting. No nausea or anything, and I know there are some scary reviews, so I wanted to leave a neutral one!"

"I have been on this birth control for 1 year now, and I haven't had that many problems with it. The only thing that really bothers me is I get really bad boob pain for 2 weeks before my period, and it does not go away till the day I get my period. Other than that, I do not mind it, my periods are super regular, and I do not have any cramps."

"I didn't even realize everything I was experiencing was caused by the Femynor pill until I made a doctor's appointment to discuss random changes in my body and remembered I started taking this pill 4 months ago. (Somewhere in between, I got mad at my boyfriend and broke up with him - not sure if it's related.) It took about a month or two for it to regulate my period, and it did a good job doing that. My period is now super short and the lightest it has ever been, BUT: I have terrible headaches, to the point of feeling weak and nauseous. I've been getting a pimple here and there, but I've never had acne in my life. I've also been super tired and lost all energy. And the worst part, crazy weight gain!!! I've always been very thin (used to try very hard to gain weight in my teenage years and early twenties), and suddenly my clothes don't fit and I'm visibly bigger, and that's with me making a conscious effort to eat less and count my calories. Also, absolutely no sex drive. Getting off of this ASAP!"

"I was originally on Estarylla, but my pharmacy ran out, so I was switched to Femynor. I have been spotting for almost two weeks now, which is a side effect of the drug. The spotting happened two weeks after my period and still hasn’t stopped. Do not recommend."

"I started my birth control journey when I was 17 at Planned Parenthood with the basic 1.0 mg/0.2 mg. Because I’m so forgetful and would often have to double dose on pills, I would become extremely nauseous and eventually I started to spot. It lasted for almost 4 months one time, so I went to the doctor and she recommended that I switch to a lower dosage (Femynor 0.25 mg/0.035 mg). It helped a lot! I lost weight (I was 127 and went down to 115), I no longer spotted, and I rarely ever feel nauseous anymore."

"I went on this pill 2 weeks ago because my doctor said my other brand had been discontinued. I have been on birth control for 12 years, and the brands have been discontinued a few times. I was on Tri-Sprintec, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, TriNessa and never had any problems every time they changed the brand. After 2 weeks of taking this, I have felt completely sick to the point that I’m stopping the pill altogether. I have gotten TERRIBLE headaches every day for the last 5 days and then realized it’s from this pill! My boobs are so sore I can’t even move or put my bra on without wanting to cry from the pain. My face is completely covered in acne, and my face was perfectly clear before. I am nauseous and go from having no appetite to having ridiculous food cravings where I’ll eat everything in sight. Do NOT try this pill. I am literally miserable while writing this, I should have been given Tri-Femynor, not plain Femynor."

"I've been on this Femynor birth control for about 2 years. It has made me so depressed, right around my period, I get suicidal thoughts. I haven't had any nausea or any problem eating. Just mental problems."

"I’m 28, 5’1, 115 lbs. CVS told me my usual oral contraceptive, Sprintec, had been discontinued. Pros: cleared my acne (purge for the first 2-3 months). Cons: gas, nausea, feeling hungry, but every dish seems to make me nauseous, so I rarely eat much, but always feel hungry. Sometimes I’d sweat in my sleep (never had that happen before the pill), irritability, mood swings, 2 periods a month. When I skipped a pill and took double the next day, I always end up arguing with a family member (not like me), depression. Honestly, after reading reviews and seeing how many side effects I have in common with other women, just confirms I need to get off this pill ASAP. I didn’t understand all these changes. I had severe acne, so I know what it’s like to want to try anything to clear your skin. If you happen to end up here looking for acne reviews, I’d try something different if it’s solely for the purpose of clearing your skin. Some days, while arguing, I felt crazy, shouting/crying."

"My doctor put me on Femynor after I spent almost 2 years trying to purge out Depo (the shot). I have been on it for about 10 months now. Pros: I don’t bleed very much anymore. My cramping is not as bad as it was before. I have not gained weight from this pill. Cons: My period is so out of whack. I always start early and never stop until a couple of days into the new pack. Sometimes I start a week early, other times I start in the first week. It is not just breakthrough bleeding, I have normal bleeding and all of the other symptoms. I am moodier than normal. I am more fatigued than I usually am. It did not help my acne, but it also did not make it worse. I am gassy. The blood is very thick and is always full of dark clots. Also, the blood is very dark and brown, which I have always had very light red blood without clots."

"When I first started this birth control, I was throwing up every month that I started a new pack, it made me very nauseous the first few days, and my breasts did increase a cup size. It wasn’t until about 6 months after that the side effects stopped. I use it to prevent pregnancy, and it’s done its job (so far). I used to get acne every once in a while, but since I started it, I RARELY get acne. I didn’t gain any weight on this medication either."

"I switched to the Femynor birth control from Lo Estrin. It’s been a nightmare. I’ve bled for the entire month I’ve been on it. I stay bloated. My emotions are all over the place, and I always feel down and sleepy. I have no energy. I get severe hot flashes and start sweating like crazy. I called my doctor this morning to immediately get off it. I definitely can’t do this anymore."

"I started taking Femynor in July of 2019 because CVS switched me from Estarylla. It has been terrible. Not even before the end of my first pill pack, I had intermittent bleeding and what felt like menstrual cramps throughout the active pills. Then in August, I started my next pack after my period, and before the second week of active pills, I had intermittent bleeding AGAIN. By this point, I'm thinking something is seriously wrong because I never had this issue with Estarylla since 2015. I decided to take a leap of faith and continue the pill pack into September, and it does not get any better. Still bleeding right now as I am writing this review. I have had night sweats, stomach aches, extreme fatigue, lack of motivation, terrible mood swings, constant cramps, and headaches, to name a few. I reached out to my doctor, who told me that the intermittent bleeding was normal, but I had enough once I had the worst anxiety attack of my life. I'm done with Femynor."

"I have been on birth control for the past two years. About two months ago, my pharmacy randomly switched me from Mono-Linyah to Femynor. About two weeks into taking the pill, I had cystic acne, which I hadn’t had since a couple of months after first starting birth control. About two months into being on this pill, I started to get an unusual brown thick discharge. After having this for about a week, I went to the doctor. They told me I had a yeast infection AND I had been bleeding or “spotting” at the same time. I have never had any issues with spotting before, and the yeast infection was a huge surprise to me, as I have a balanced diet, regularly take my pills, and have good hygiene. I have never felt so depressed in my life as well. Pay attention to what brand your pharmacy changes your birth control to because it truly does matter, even if they “all have the same ingredients.” Stick to the one that works best for you. I would absolutely avoid this pill at all costs if you can."

"I started Femynor because I was experiencing an irregular period with lots of bleeding and clots for months at a time. My provider gave me this, and the bleeding stopped within 3-4 days. Haven’t had a period since. The only side effect I had was nausea, but after about a month and a half, it went away."

"I really like Femynor birth control pill so far. I experienced pretty bad nausea for the first two days I took it, but that went away. I’ve been on it for almost 3 months and haven’t had any serious side effects. The first week of taking it, I was very emotional and cried at almost anything, but that went away. I also experienced some headaches, but that went away too. The second month I took it, I didn’t experience any side effects, except it is clearing my acne, which is awesome. Overall, I would recommend it, I haven’t had many problems, and it’s working well!"
