"I haven’t been on birth control for over 3 years, hadn’t gotten pregnant either. My period is every month, but I start spotting when I’m supposed to be on my “ovulation days.” The doctor prescribed me Femynor. I hesitated at first but decided to try one out for at least a month, since supposedly it helps and regulates and bla, bla, bla. So I took the first pill on my first period day, and all day I was constantly throwing up. I got waves of nausea throughout the day, and my appetite went down. I do not recommend these birth control pills. I stopped taking them!"

"I got this pill because they said it’s generic of Ortho-Cyclen. I was depressed the first 2 weeks. Then depression was gone, my breasts got bigger. I have been using this pill for 3 months. I gained 6 pounds, but that is because I might have changed my diet. I don’t like it. My sex drive got lower, I never had that on a pill before. Generic pills, even though they are supposed to be the same, I don’t think they are the same. I honestly feel different, I don’t care what doctors and pharmacists say, I know my body, I feel weird, that’s why I’m changing this pill."

"CVS switched me over to this a couple of months ago. Since then, I have had my period most of the time despite taking it continuously and skipping the null week. I have lost weight but also lost my appetite and find myself woozy and exhausted most of the time. I don't consider myself protected while on this birth control, it seems like it's sugar pills to me."

"HORRIBLE, it took me 1.5 years to realize it was this medication that has made me tired, depressed, no sex drive, and a weight gain of 30 lbs. I thought it was just the pandemic and the sadness with that and working from home, but I took a testosterone test and my levels are low. Which seems to be in correlation with this medication. I wish I looked at these reviews before getting on it. I got on this particular one to help my acne, which it has a little, but it has not been worth it. I hope I can get on something better... to be happy and lose this weight. I would not recommend this to anyone."

"Femynor was my first ever birth control, and from reading the reviews, I was nervous to take it. My first period I had with it was really heavy, and I had really strong cramps. Every other period I've had, though, has been extremely light, and I don't have any cramping. One side effect I did experience is that my boobs grew so much, they were sore for probably about 3 weeks. Now I have dark purple stretch marks on them, which I wish I didn't. As for the birth control aspect, it works great, I always have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, and we have never had a problem. I understand everyone's experiences are different, and it can be scary seeing all the mixed reviews, but this pill really works for me."

"My daughter's pharmacy switched her to this when they were out of Esterella, and she has been miserable for a week! Ended up in the ER due to pain in kidneys, headaches, discharge, upset stomach, diarrhea - miserable!"

"In the beginning, I had cystic acne on my forehead that lasted about a month and major mood swings that lasted probably 6 months. But now I’ve been on it for almost 2 years and haven’t noticed any negative side effects. It’s just part of my everyday routine in taking it, and it’s been fine! No breakouts, no cramps, and no nausea, but everyone’s body reacts differently!"

"I honestly thought I was going through a midlife crisis, but upon reading these reviews, I finally understand why I have been acting the way that I am for the past couple of months. As soon as I was switched from Estarylla to this medication, I had severe anxiety until this day. I have never been one to be anxious, but when I tell you I had the craziest anxiety ever, I did. I would get my period on the second week of active pills all the way through my sugar pills. Mind you, I was taking the pill at the same time every day. Do not recommend this pill. Also, I gained like 10 lbs."

"CVS switched me from Estarylla to Femynor. It's the worst birth control I've ever taken. I have depression, anxiety, irritability, everything mentioned in other reviews happened to me as well. I have to fight CVS every month to give me Estarylla because I refuse to take this medication."

"Thankfully, everyone else on here has been recently sharing the same experience as I have with Tri Femynor. I was on Junel Fe before, and everything was fine, but then my doctor switched me to Tri Femynor to help with acne, and my acne has never been worse in my life. I have been on the pill for 8 months now, and I break out nearly every day. I also follow a strict diet and eat very clean because of my type 1 diabetes, but I randomly gained 15 pounds over the past couple of months as well. I am definitely switching back to a lighter pill."

"I started Femynor back in college. Initially, I had painful cramps and nausea for numerous days. Eventually, these side effects cleared, and I continued with the medication for 5 years. For those 5 years, my acne had cleared, but I developed anxiety and suffered from dreadful cramps and mood swings during/leading up to my period. I am currently switching birth control pills, after a while, I started developing frequent hormonal acne, which I’ve rarely ever had growing up."

"Switched birth control because the pharmacy where I moved didn't carry Previfem. I stuck through the horrible nausea the first two days (puking 2-4 am) thanks to people’s reviews saying it does go away. After that, no side effects besides going up a cup size. Now that I am through the nausea, we will see how this thing goes."

"I never get headaches and never had any birth control until my pharmacy switched me to this birth control, Femynor. I was so ill... sharp headaches for up to 3 days each pill pack. Stopped taking this medication and have never gotten a headache again. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Rate of 0."

"Do not take Femynor. I spent the worst night of my life after only taking it for 5 days. An hour later on the 5th day, I felt terrible. I had a very bad headache, and I was very nauseous all night. Finally, after hours, I threw up, and afterwards I felt so weak I could not even talk. Whatever you do, do not take this pill, it's terrible."

"I am 32 years old. My doctor started me on this pill for heavy spotting between periods. I was still having in-between bleeding but not as bad, so my dosage was upped. Since then, I have had no issues at all with heavy bleeding/spotting and have been taking this pill now for 8 months. The only side effects I’ve noticed are really bad mood swings prior to my period and weight gain. For irregular bleeding, though, this pill works really well to control it, but in a higher dose."

"I cannot sing the praises of Femynor birth control enough. No weight gain, mood swings were minimal the first few months. I went on Femynor to fix my hormonal acne about 7-8 months ago, and it WORKED. No matter what I tried, nothing worked for my acne, and this did. The doctor told me I'd see results in 6 months, and my skin started clearing in 2. Now it's almost perfect, rarely a breakout, besides some blackheads, which are way better than a face of whitehead breakouts. The only issue I've had is my cramps have been worse some months, and my period has started early a few times and lasts a lot longer than it used to. Which if that's the only thing I deal with, I'm still over the moon about this birth control. Recommend it to anyone with bad acne."

"So I have been taking Femynor for about a year and a half. I originally was taking Tri-Estarylla, but for some reason, CVS switched me. I will say that this birth control keeps me very regular and has helped dramatically with reducing cramping, nausea, and flow. However, over the last year and a half, I have developed crippling anxiety, gastrointestinal distress, and gained weight. I originally attributed all of these symptoms to the stress of college and applying to graduate schools until I started reading these reviews. I have also gained a total of 30 lbs while being on the pill. However, some of that might be due to stress eating caused by the anxiety. I have also completely lost my sex drive, and my personality changed, which caused issues in my long-term relationship. I am planning on talking to my doctor and getting switched back to Tri-Estarylla."

"I've been taking Femynor for around 2 months as my first ever birth control pill. So far, the only side effects I've experienced are headaches and nausea. I take the pill every night before bed, and as long as I eat a snack after taking it and drink some water, I do not experience any side effects. However, I skipped dinner one time and woke up with a headache and feeling very nauseous."

"I tried Femynor birth control after being on Estarylla for less than a year. It’s only been a month, and I haven’t had any bad side effects! The only thing I noticed was the first few days I would get anxious out of nowhere, but being on Estarylla gave me horrible anxiety, so for me, it was like it was getting out of my system. Hopefully, I don’t have any bad side effects soon since I know it takes about 3 months for your body to get used to birth control."

"I gained so much weight from this pill alone. I was taking Trinessa before being put on Tri-Sprintec, slight weight gain, but I stopped gaining and settled. Then they canceled Tri-Sprintec and I've been on Tri-Femynor for almost a year or so. I put on extra pounds and would crave a lot of food as if I was pregnant, crying spells, and just a day ago, I got my Tri-Sprintec back, and I can tell I'm starting to regulate my emotions and eating habits better. I mean, it keeps you from becoming preggo, but it's not worth the side effects, in my honest opinion. I'm almost considering an IUD just because I'm tired of changing pills soooo much."

"I was on Mononessa for a very long time. It is no longer available in the United States, so Femynor was the medication that they changed me to. I’ve only been on it for one month, and I’ve had off all very emotional mood swings. The first two weeks, I was extremely irritable, and now that I’ve got my period, I feel like I could cry every day for no reason at all. This is not like my character at all, I am very even-keeled and extremely happy. After my period is finished, I will not be resuming this medication."

"I read other reviews on this when I got it and hoped I'd have a different experience. I felt extremely emotional for 2 weeks. Have never bled this much unless I'm postpartum after I give birth. Nothing but heavy clotting. I normally bleed 3 days on my period. Still bleeding at day 8 on this heavy. Causing headaches, fatigue, and I can't work like this. It's an awful birth control. My doc prescribed Sprintec, and this was the generic formula. My doc said keep taking it, but I stopped 3 days ago as I was only 2 weeks into the pills and couldn't continue."

"I am on week 2, month 2 of Femynor, and I’m not sure where I stand. I started this birth control at a very stressful time, so I’m not sure if the side effects are due to the drug or the stress or both. But the major side effect I’ve noticed is that I’m nearly nauseous. I thought that maybe I had the stomach bug, but it’s on and off and without vomiting or other viral symptoms. Because of this, I’ve lost a few pounds (which is fantastic), but I’m basically starving myself due to a lack of appetite. I’ve also had a decreased sex drive (again could be the stress too). Aside from that, no other major side effects. My period was normal last month (though heavier than usual), and my acne hasn’t gotten better or worse, and no significant mood swings. I know it takes 3 months to get used to a new birth control and hope by summer, when things die down and I should be used to it, that I’ll feel better."

"I’ve been using this birth control for about 8 months. Only complaints I have are nausea when I forget to take a pill and end up taking two the next day and weight gain. Severe weight gain. I’ve gained over 10 pounds with this pill and I think I want to switch to another contraceptive. Not gonna lie, my face looks amazing; no acne, but I’m feeling really depressed and insecure with the weight gain, and I specifically told my doctor beforehand I didn’t want to gain weight nor break out a lot. Any recommendations for a good birth control?"

"Had been on Sprintec and never had any side effects. Switched to CVS because local Walmart was too far from my new address, and they gave me Femynor, which is another generic. Since I started this pill a month and two weeks ago, I've never stopped bleeding. Still, I'm on my period, over for a month."
