"I've been taking Femynor since giving birth 8 months ago. Despite being a very active person I managed to gain an additional 14 pounds post partum. I've been strictly dieting for 2 months now and have finally managed to lose those 14 pounds but I mean strict dieting. I've been spotting every month but this month I full on started my period a week early during active pills and without missing or taking a single pill late. It's got me so worried about an underlying health issue (due to unexpected bleeding) that I'm going to see my doctor in a few days. If no underlying issue is found I will assume it to be due to this birth control pill and will be switching. Gotta love insurance companies and their love relationship with generics, "only the best for our customers" right?!? I've been so stressed all week worried about this week early bleeding that its caused me so much lost sleep. Hoping to find answers at my appt."

"I gained so much weight from this pill alone. I was taking Trinessa, before being put on Tri-Sprintec, slight weight gain but I stopped gaining and settled. Then they canceled Tri-Sprintec and I've been on Tri-Femynor for almost a year or so. I put on extra pounds and would crave a lot of food as if I was pregnant, crying spells and just a day ago, I got my Tri-Sprintec back and I can tell I'm starting to regulate my emotions and eating habits better. I mean it keeps you from becoming preggo but it's not worth the side effects in my honest opinion. I'm almost considering an IUD just because I'm tired of changing pills soooo much."

"This stuff made me throw up EVERY TIME I took a pill. I even took it at night to sleep through the nausea and in the morning I threw up every day. I used to take this in High School and knew about the nausea and expected it as I began this again. My fiance and I were going to try and start a family so I went off of it and started it again due to how crazy a time it is during COVID-19. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I DID NOT SEE THE CORRELATION BETWEEN MY CYSTIC ACNE AND FEYMNOR. My skin had FINALLY cleared up after struggling with cystic acne since my teen years. I started this and from day 2 I have woken up to new cystic acne every morning. This stuff makes me so emotional and moody, causes cystic acne and makes me so nauseous. I threw it out. The only good thing about it is I went up a cup size. DO NOT TAKE THIS."

"I was on TriNessa for years with short, 3 day periods, zero cramps or PMS symptoms other than a tiny bit moody. My doctor prescribed Tri-Estarylla as the replacement and I saw zero difference. Then, the pharmacy kept automatically refilling with Tri-Feymnor. For the first time in 15 years, I had cramps and stomach aches and my period was so so heavy, like a 14 year old! It also lasted a full week...no! The pharmacy INSISTS Tri-Estarylla and Tri-Femynor are exactly the same and I insist they are NOT. The pharmacist says Tri-Estarylla always gets replaced with Tri-Femynor by distributors and there is no way to override that, and there’s nothing they can do. So every 90 days I have to pick up my pills early so I can immediately give them back and have them manually order Tri-Estarylla and wait for it to come in. Luckily my doctor writes me a 90 day prescription. TL;DR Tri-Femynor is NOT THE SAME as Tri-Estarylla, no matter what they say. Tri-Femynor is TRASH."

"I haven’t been on birth control for over 3 years, hadn’t gotten pregnant either. Period is every month but I start spotting when I’m supposed to be on my “ovulation days”, Dr prescribed me Femynor, I hesitated at first but decided to try one out for at least a month, since supposedly it helps and regulates and bla bla bla, so I took the first pill on my first period day and all day I was constantly throwing up, I got nauseous waves through the day and my appetite went down. I do no recommend these birth control pills. I stopped taking them!"

"It is great for my acne. Horrible for my sex life. I have no sex drive anymore. Some cramping occasionally and when I first started I had nausea but that went away. And I haven’t gotten pregnant so I guess it’s working"

"HORRIBLE, it took me 1.5 years to realize it was this medication that has made me - tired, depressed, no sex drive, and a weight gain of 30lbs. I thought it was just the pandemic and the sadness with that and working from home, but I took a testosterone test and my levels are low. Which seems to be in correlation with this medication. I wish I looked at these reviews before getting on it, I got on this particular one to help my acne which it has a little but it has not been worth it. I hope I can get on something better ... to be happy and loose this weight. I would not recommend this to anyone."

"In the beginning I had cystic acne on my forehead that lasted about a month and major mood swings that lasted probably 6 months. But now I’ve been on it for almost 2 years and haven’t noticed any negative side effects. It’s just part of my everyday routine in taking it and it’s been fine! No breakouts, no cramps, and no nausea, but everyone’s body reacts different!"

"I honestly thought I was going through a mid life crisis but upon reading this reviews I finally understand why I have been acting the way that I am for the past couple of months. As soon as I was switched from Estarylla to this medication I had SEVERE anxiety until this day. I have never been one to be anxious but when I tell you I had the craziest anxiety ever, I did. I would get my period on the second week of active pills all the way through my sugar pills, mind you I was taking the pill at the same time everyday. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PILL. Also I gained like 10lbs"

"After reading reviews, I believe all my problems from the past year stem from this birth control Femynor. I originally went on Tri-Estrylla for severe cramps, back pain, and acne. It was great! My periods became noticeably less painful. My acne did not change. After maybe about 4 or 5 months of using it, my pharmacy changed me to this and my side effects started. First, I started losing a significant amount of weight for the first time in my life. Looking at food made me nauseous and I became incredibly less hungry. Sometimes I felt like I was going to puke the whole day and just never did. I’m continuing to lose weight and for the first time since elementary school, I’m under 100 lbs. I thought this may have been because of my depression and anxiety (which now I believe is caused by the birth control as well). I’ve always struggled with depression but it became so bad for no reason at all this past year. I have become a zombie. ALSO I have absolutely NO sex drive at all which sucks."

"I got this pill bc they said it’s generic of ortho-cyclen. I was depressed first 2 weeks. Than depression was gone, my breats got bigger. I have been using this pill for 3 months. I gained 6 pounds but that because I might changed my diet. I don’t like it. My sex drive got lower never had that in pill before. Generic pills even though they are suppose to be the same - I don’t think they are the same. I honestly feel different I don’t care what doctors and pharmacist says, I know my body, I feel weird that’s why I’m changing this pill."

"IF YOU TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL PILL STOP RIGHT NOW. My daughter almost died last week from blood clots in her lungs and legs. 100% attributed to this birth control pill. These manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves, knowing that this was a side effect of the drug."

"CVS switched me over to this a couple of months ago. Since then I have had my period most of the time despite taking it continuously and skipping the null week. I have lost weight but also lost my appetite and find myself woozy and exhausted most of the time. I don't consider myself protected while on this birth control, it seems like it's sugar pills to me."

"I have no idea why but I haven’t had my period this month and they been coming later like my last period was on December 31 and that freaked me out because usually I get my periods on the 22nd. I’ve been buying pregnancy test like crazy and they are all negative. But this month I haven’t had my period and January is almost over ."

"Femynor was my first ever birth control, and from reading the reviews, I was nervous to take it. My first period I had with it was really heavy and I had really strong cramps. Every other period I've had though has been extremely light and I don't have any cramping. One side affect I did experience is that my boobs grew so much, they were sore for probably about 3 weeks. Now I have dark purple stretch marks on them which I wish I didn't. As for the birth control aspect, it works great, I always have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and we have never had a problem. I understand everyone's experiences are different and it can be scary seeing all the mixed reviews, but this pill really works for me."

"Switched birth control because the pharmacy where I moved didn't carry Previfem. I stuck through the HORRIBLE nausea the first two days (puking 2 am-4am) thanks to people’s reviews saying it does go away. After that, no side effects besides going up a cup size. Now that I am through the nausea we will see how this thing goes"

"Been on for three years still haven’t got pregnant so that’s a plus yes you get nauseous but that’s common because you’re a woman and you have hormones so don’t let the comments scare you . Oh and I take it when I eat breakfast so I won’t feel nauseous because I have food in my body at 9:30 AM"

"I started taking this birth control 12 days ago, the second day I took it I immediately felt sad, I thought it was just a normal passing ache of the heart... but it didn't stop. After a week and a half of minor depression I began to feel intense anxiety, today I reached a breaking point. I had the craziest panic attack where I kept switching from mania to crying, my body kept switching from cold to hot and I could not stop shivering. I felt hungry everyday no matter what and felt irritated often. You may not think this was enough time to feel these effects, but I'm telling you I did. Good Luck."

"Thankfully everyone else on here has been recently sharing a same experience as I have with Tri Femynor. I was on June fe before and everything was fine, but then my doctor switched me to Tri Femynor to help with acne and my acne has never been worse in my life. Been on the pill for 8 months now and I break out nearly every day. I also follow a strict diet and eat very clean because of my type 1 diabetes, but I randomly gained 15 pounds over the past couple months as well. I am definitely switching back to a lighter pill."

"I started Femynor back in college. Initially I had painful cramps and nausea for numerous days. Eventually, these side effects cleared and I continued with the medication for 5 years. For those 5 years, my acne had cleared, but I developed anxiety and suffered from dreadful cramps and mood swings during/ leading up to my period. I am currently switching birth control pills, after awhile I started developing frequent hormonal acne which I’ve rarely ever had growing up."

"I haven't had any major problems with Femynor 28, HOWEVER, I think it caused my sex drive to decrease quite a bit. I've also tried skipping the placebo weeks in order to skip my period, and although it was successful, spotting was inevitable by the 2nd week of the new pill pack. If you don't care too much about sex drive and need to do something about your awful period cramps/irregular cycle, give this one a try. I don't hate it, but I'm sure my boyfriend does."

"Been on Femynor for 2.5 months, it’s been fairly good besides the occasional nausea, spotting for the last month and cramping. But not spotting enough to wear a panty liner. Only seen occasionally when I wipe, but figure my body is still adjusting to a higher dose since I switched from Lo Loestrin fe(the lowest available option). Other than that no mood swings, depression, or weight gain. Plus my acne has cleared up. Personally, I feel the side effects are normal for the first couple months and not bad enough to switch brands."
