For Birth Control "So this was the second birth control pill I've tried, and I LOVE IT! The first one I was on made me depressed, gain weight, and have a period for a MONTH. After changing to Estarylla, I have had no problems at all. My cystic acne went away, I haven’t gained weight, and I do not cramp. This pill does still make you have a period, but mine is much shorter than it was before. I don’t want to use any other pill!!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I have recently been taking Estarylla for about 1 month now and just stopped it completely. It did help with my secondary amenorrhea. I usually get my period once every 4-7 months, and I got it about a week ago. But I’m getting off it because I now have severe acne and weight gain. Not to mention, mood swings, constant UTIs, weight gain, bloating, and indigestion."

For Ovarian Cysts "Like most everyone else that left reviews, I was on Mononessa, and Walgreens switched over to this medication. I have to take a birth control pill to prevent cysts, unfortunately. Even though I exercise and am on the go regularly, I have gained a bit of weight and am struggling to get it off. The worst part for me, though, is the migraines! Like clockwork, they start every month the week before I have my period. I didn’t put it together until the last few months and actually went to a neurologist about the severity of these migraines! I will be finding a pharmacy that carries Mononessa ASAP! I absolutely do not recommend this medicine."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control almost 6 months ago. I'm switching next week, I can't take it anymore! I have experienced about 15 lbs in weight gain, I have horrible mood swings the week before my period and terrible cramping. I get very sensitive for about the first hour after taking the pill. My periods were shortened, usually 3 days max... until last week, I was spotting for about 2 weeks. The only positive, my skin cleared up, but broke out faithfully during period week. I would highly NOT recommend."

For Birth Control "I didn't realize it initially, but it makes sense as to why my emotions have been extremely haywire these past few months. I get uncontrollably angry at the slightest things, and it makes me go on scary rampages for no reason. Then when I realize how angry I get, I break down and go into a depressing state. It's a horrible cycle. I feel like I've gained a bit of weight also. In terms of acne, I don't feel like it controls it very well either. Overall, I haven't seen any good side effects of this pill."

For Birth Control "I was given a different brand, which I took for 6 months. Then I was given another brand, Estarylla. It has had a negative effect. My acne keeps getting worse every month while I’m on Estarylla. These pills made me depressed, gained weight. I am switching back to Femynor, which cleared my acne and didn’t give me nausea."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for maybe half a year and didn't develop any side effects right away, but slowly I started noticing that I was sad a lot more over nothing! I gained some weight, became very anxious, and my sex drive also vanished. Everything in my life is great, but the only thing I could think of was these pills had caused it because it didn't happen right away, but slowly progressed as the months went by. I recently stopped taking it in hopes I can go back to myself while the pill fades from my system. I'm not sure exactly if it was indeed the pill, but I was informed this pill does cause those types of side effects, ladies, so be careful. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for 4 years, but my pharmacy switched me over to Estarylla, and I decided to give it a try. I was on this pill for 6 months and was moody, depressed, and I gained weight. I do get moody when I am on my period with Sprintec, but this was entirely different. My emotions felt like a roller coaster, and when my period came, it would be a very difficult week for me mentally. I personally do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on multiple different birth controls since 2018, and this has been the worst one yet. Unfortunately, this worsened my anxiety and depression to the point where I was having anxiety attacks on a weekly basis after going two years without them. Not only this, but I have been experiencing consistent migraines for the first time in my life. I gained a bit of weight, my skin isn't as clear as it was, and overall has been messing with my body. I wish I didn't have bad things to say, but this has been an unfortunate circumstance that I'm glad to have figured out."

For Birth Control "I’ve started with Monessa. It caused me to spot for a month straight, so it was like I had a period for a whole month. This also delayed my intimate time with my boyfriend, which was super annoying and defeated the purpose of birth control. So after that horrible month, I ended up somehow getting switched to Estarylla. I’ve been on this birth control for about 3 months now. With this birth control, there are a few side effects, which included weight gain, a little acne here and there, nausea, moments of depression and crying spells, increased sex drive, a few seconds of blurred vision, increased appetite, and tenderness of breasts. Some people were saying that their hair falls out on this, it’s NEVER happened to me. I rate this birth control an 8. I have regular periods around the same time every month that only last for about 4 days, and my cycles are light. ZERO SPOTTING. Plus, I haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so that’s always a bonus for me! I’m beyond fine with my side effects."

For Birth Control "I just started my second month on this pill after having my second baby. I was on Ortho Tricyclen after the first kid and had weight gain, and my face broke out so bad. I haven't had either one of these problems with this pill. The only issue I have is, so far, instead of 4-5 day periods, my last one was 8 days, but I did notice my cramps were lighter. I would recommend it."

For Birth Control "I am so happy I did an internet search and came across this site. Like most of the other reviewers, I was on Mononessa, and Walgreens switched me, telling me it was the same thing. Ever since the switch, I’ve been moody, depressed, gaining weight, terrible periods, and getting acne for the first time in years. I did some research and found out that other pharmacies carry Mononessa, so I will be stopping Estarylla immediately and switching pharmacies."

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control for the last, like, 15 years. I just switched to Estarylla about 5 or 6 months ago. Never have I ever experienced side effects like I have on this one. I've gained so much weight, and my hair is falling out. I'm so depressed and angry all the time. My mood swings are ridiculous. My anxiety is so bad. For Birth Control "This BC is my second one I've been on. The first one I took, I got my period two times in one month, and it was horrible. Then I switched to this one, and I got my period one time a month for a few days, and it's been great! The holiday season just finished, and I ate like a slob and gained weight, BUT I just got off my period, so I am hoping that weight gain isn't the P word! I'm going on a diet now to lose weight, but this birth control is very good! When my boyfriend and I have sex, he does not finish in me, so the chances are close to none! I also am 20 years old and just paranoid of becoming pregnant, it's my biggest fear! So far, so good though!"

For Birth Control "I feel so relieved after reading these reviews… I thought I was the only one that has had a negative experience after my pharmacy switched me from Sprintec (which I’d been on since I was 17 until 27) to Estarylla (2017-now). I’ve gained weight, had no motivation, my sex drive is significantly lower, and I’m constantly fatigued. If you are happy with the current BC brand that you are currently on, even if they tell you it’s the same ingredients, do not switch to this. I told my gyno my issues to the point that I’ve considered switching to a non-hormonal IUD, and she said she would specifically request my pharmacy to give me Sprintec. She told me that even though Sprintec and Estarylla have the same active ingredients, each company adds fillers that can affect everyone differently. I appreciated that so much, so I know it’s not just me. This month my pharmacy finally switched me back to Sprintec, so hopefully this will help get me back to normal!"

For Birth Control "I know everybody is different, but for me, this was an awful birth control. I was on Sprintec for two years until my pharmacy switched me to this, saying that it was the same pill, just a different name. That is completely wrong. I felt completely fine on Sprintec, I had hardly any side effects whatsoever. After one month on Estarylla, I developed depression and severe mood swings. I'd lash out at people for the smallest things and then feel completely awful about it once I calmed down. I’ve never had acne, but this made me break out so badly and gain so much weight despite being nauseous and having hardly any appetite. I will not be taking this one ever again and will demand to be switched back to Sprintec immediately."

For Birth Control "Before I was randomly switched to Estarylla, I was on Sprintec for more than 4 years. I loved my Sprintec birth control, my skin was great, my weight was great, mild cramping, high sex drive, and here and there I was emotional, but overall it really did the job for me. Then I was randomly switched to Estarylla, the pharmacist told me I would be just fine and it wouldn’t change much. That was a total lie. I’ve been on Estarylla for about 3 months now, and it is so awful. My acne has returned really bad to the point I’m going back to my dermatologist to get prescribed something for it to stop causing cysts and scarring. I gained like 15 lbs, I get so depressed and anxious way more than I ever have. Lastly, my sex drive is meh now. The only thing I appreciate about this pill is my periods don’t last as long. But let me tell you, I’ve already set an appointment to switch back to Sprintec. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Acne "I’m going to go on a rant. This is terrible. Never have liked this at all. I had clear and perfect skin before taking this, and now my skin is breaking out like never before. Also, mood swings and emotions are out of control. I feel like I’ve also experienced a little bit of weight gain because my appetite increased with this stuff, so that’s also something to be wary of. I’m switching after this. Avoid this birth control if you can."
