For Birth Control "So I started taking these, and they were fine. I didn't have any complaints, and then the 2nd week in, I started bleeding every day. I felt bloated and weak all the time. Had absolutely no energy. They haven't changed my mood at all and have also cleared up my skin, but I wouldn't recommend."

For Birth Control "I was on Microgestin for 5 months. Although it solved my original problem of severe cramping (what I thought was ovarian cysts), Microgestin had many side effects for me. I experienced nausea right before periods, depression, anxiety, and extreme mood swings. I was sleeping a lot during the day, which caused me to not sleep at night. I am switching to Trinessa and hope it fixes these problems."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Microgestin after experiencing prolonged abnormal bleeding. I've not been on birth control for over a decade, and I have to say I hate this drug! Three weeks in and I am miserable. I don't want to continue taking it at all, I can't do this for 3 months. Here is my experience: I started taking the pill while on my cycle, as directed by my Ob-Gyn, and on the last day of my cycle, as the flow was lessening, it suddenly got heavier, and I spent five days dealing with extremely heavy flow (every 60-90 minutes). Then it stopped for 2 days, and then started again. Sore lower back and abdomen constantly. Increased appetite. Fatigue. Emotional. Advil is a constant, without it, I'd be a wreck!"

For Birth Control "Like other reviews said, you won't take the time to post a review if you're happy with it, but I am. After switching from bc to bc, this one finally worked on me. I went from having extremely heavy periods, pelvic pain, and not being able to stand up to a medium to light period the first month. Pain meds finally worked on me to remove the pain, unlike before."

For Birth Control "Been taking Microgestin for three months. (Had to get off Levora because of seriously chronic nausea.) The first month on Microgestin, I was just a couple hours late taking a pill and bled almost immediately. Second and third months haven't missed a pill, and my periods have been almost nonexistent. Super scary on month two, but really an appreciated bonus I hope continues."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Microgestin FE for 3 months now. The first two, there were no really bad side effects except some acne and heavy flow with nasty cramps that I was assured would go away by month three...ABSOLUTELY NOT. Month three has been the worst...I break out all the time when I never used to get pimples, I feel nauseous and pukey all day, every day, no food sounds or tastes good, I have back pain and lower abdominal pain, I'm bloated and swollen, and I've gained almost 8 pounds! This is absolutely miserable."

For Birth Control "I'm halfway through my 3rd month, and I started bleeding heavily the second week into it. I have a history of anxiety, but the last two weeks have been bad for my anxiety. My mood is unstable, I cried for 2 hours over nothing. I'm having irrational angry episodes that are creating tension in my relationships. However, for the first two months, I was regular, and my periods were light. I definitely think I'm going to be switching."

For Birth Control "My experience has been horrible. I have taken Loestrin brand for years, and I have never had breakthrough bleeding with other BCs until now. I am halfway through my 3rd pack, and I came back a week after my cycle stopped. I am extremely heavy, and it's worse than my normal period. I am going back to the doctor this week."

For Birth Control "I did not do well on this pill, my pharmacy suddenly switched me over to this drug about 4 months ago. Not to mention, about 80% of my prescription gets delayed, and then I go a week without starting a new set. My first month was pretty standard, however, I haven’t gotten my period now for 3 months! I’ve tried taking tests, yet they all come up as not pregnant. I guess it’s doing its job, but I’ve never had my period become this irregular. I’ve gained 15 lbs since the switch, I have severe insomnia, and no sex drive whatsoever. I get depressive episodes and find myself irritable with my significant other when I don’t mean to be. I just consulted with my doctor and am now switching to an IUD because I’m surely over this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 3 months and haven't had any issues. I am wondering about my sex drive, though, but I am not sure yet if it's the pill or work stress because I have a lot of that. My periods are shorter and lighter, and as long as I eat when I take it, I don't experience any stomach issues. Everyone's body is different, and just because someone had a bad experience doesn't mean you will. I don't have issues with anxiety or depression. Those who experience that already may have an increase of those symptoms. Pills don't make you gain weight, food does. If your appetite has increased on it, practice some discipline and eat less. I exercise regularly and have not gained weight."

For Birth Control "My new doctor put me on this birth control to try to ease my ovarian pain and severe cramping. After only a week of taking it, my skin became extremely oily, when I normally have dry skin, and my skin began to break out. It made me bleed non-stop and didn't help with any of my PMS symptoms, if anything, it made them worse. I've tried several other birth controls, and this might be the worst one."

For Endometriosis "I started my first pack October 1st, two months ago. Since then, I've been on my period on and off the last six of the eight weeks. Spotting on the days I was supposed to get my period, but living with full-blown endo all eight weeks. This by far is the worst birth control I've ever taken. Side effects out of this world. First, it was the cramping, then the headaches, then chronic fatigue even after food. What made it strange is the horrible mood swings, making a monster. (Literally) My emotions were gone, all I felt was anger and numbness. I had no idea it was the birth control until my OB informed me yesterday that generic brands are made in other countries, made with God-knows-what. So today, I was put on a name brand birth control. We shall see!"

For Birth Control "Would put zero if I could. This is the worst birth control experience I have ever had!!! My mood swings were out of control, and I experienced anxiety that turned into a really awful depression that affected my personal relationships. I don't have a history of breaking out and started to notice my face become oily and breakouts appearing soon after I started the pack. Do NOT take this, especially when there are so many other birth controls!!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time in 12 years being on the pill. I originally stopped taking birth control because I would get such bad headaches. I'm currently finishing up my first month. I can honestly say the only complaint I have is the breakthrough bleeding and random cramps, which started 2 1/2 weeks in. While I've read it is normal due to hormones changing and your body getting used to it, it is VERY inconvenient! It's been consistent and heavy enough that I have to wear tampons. I've read this can happen for the next few months-great, so not looking forward to nonstop bleeding! I did notice slightly fuller breasts.... Well, at least my left one, haha! I've noticed I have more energy. Slightly irritable at times."

For Birth Control "The first two months were not fun, but then it got better. I have been on it for almost 3 years, and I'm very happy with it. My periods are regular, and I have had no mood swings, cramps, or migraines. I love it. The only thing is it is expensive, and my insurance only covers 10 percent, but it's worth it because it works so well."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Stopped my period after the first pack and then after a month after not taking anything. Never experienced that with other birth control pills. Not going to take them again. The doctor knew nothing about the pills they prescribed. Disappointed."

For Birth Control "I started taking Microgestin 1/20 a year ago after my insurance quit covering Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, which I had no issues with. I've tried other birth control pills in the past with side effects like acne or headaches and didn't want any of that, I told my ob/gyn just something comparable to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I rapidly started gaining weight shortly after starting the pills - up five pants sizes since then with no other changes in lifestyle. I have tried exercising even more and ate relatively healthy before, but tried harder on that and portions also, but have not lost an ounce. My husband has exercised with me and eaten the same meals, larger portions, and has lost weight. So I am thinking it is the Microgestin."

For Birth Control "So I've been on this birth control for about 10 months. Everything was totally fine, I had shorter and less painful periods, no mood swings (actually, less mood swings than before), no weight gain. I used this to treat PCOS. The only complaint was an upset stomach almost all the time, which was preferable to all the PCOS symptoms. But recently I've noticed that this medicine causes me to get lots of lumps in my breasts. I found one just yesterday that's not like the rest: it's bigger and in a location I've never had any texture in before, and it's not mirrored in the other breast. I have some breast cancer in my family, so now I am a constant nervous wreck about getting breast cancer. I'm probably going to stop taking these pills soon once I talk to my doctor."

For Birth Control "I recently started this pill almost a month ago to prevent pregnancy. I am almost finished with the first pack and anxious to see what my period will be like. As for side effects, I have been very emotional and irritable at times. I used to be on a different medicine for acne, but once I started this pill, I stopped taking the other medicine, and now I have whiteheads everywhere, which is opposite from what I usually get. I also have been very constipated and have had a lot of gas, although I haven't gained any weight. Overall, I don't know if I would recommend this pill due to all of the side effects that I have already experienced."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for almost two months now, and it's been perfect! I started taking Mononessa in October, and it caused me to bleed for about sixty days straight - no good. I also noticed that my emotions were way out of whack, I was basically a train wreck. When I switched over to Microgestin, not only did I stop bleeding within a week, but I feel more mentally balanced, too. I haven't experienced any side effects. I'm very happy with it and plan to continue using it."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 5 years, and while it helped my heavy periods immensely, I stopped feeling like a person. I was numb to everything- not happy or sad, I really only felt anxious or angry. I didn’t feel like myself and had no sex drive either. I’ve just gotten the IUD and didn’t realize the impact until now. If you begin feeling this way, listen to yourself, you are not overthinking it! I wish I would’ve listened to my body/family, who was telling me I was acting so differently."

For Birth Control "I tried Microgestin 1/20 for a month. I had originally had Mirena (which I loved and had no issues whatsoever, but had it removed because my husband kept complaining incessantly about being poked by the strings). I noticed after a week of taking it I felt incredibly sad. I couldn't enjoy much of anything. This was a drastic change to how I was feeling just a week ago. As the pack wore on, it only got worse. My entire family noticed a drastic difference in my mood. I'm definitely going to attribute it to this birth control because once I stopped taking it, I was fine and back to my normal self. Not sure why doctors don't warn you about these side effects. Thanks, Big Pharma!"

For Birth Control "I have tried so many different types of birth control, and I think I have found the ONE! I think this is it. I actually tried the Microgestin Fe 1.5/30, and it made me gain weight and made me super depressed. Been taking this one for about 2 months now. I've been spotting for a few weeks on and off, and haven't had an actual period, which is super nice. The only side effect I noticed is tender, sore breasts, and a bit more bloating. I'm actually able to keep my weight stable by doing calorie counting daily. Thank God it didn't affect my mood at all either. So happy with this birth control. Also, my bf and I have been having unprotected sex like every weekend, and I have no pregnancy scares! Hope this review helps ya!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for a year to treat PCOS. My periods were very irregular, and I experienced spotting and a low sex drive for the first three months after starting. Then I was having normal 3-4 day periods every other month. I also had trouble with nausea and an upset stomach, but it subsided after a week or so. I continued to work out and eat somewhat healthy, and I was still able to lose weight. My only complaint was that after starting the pill, my skin got very sensitive to the chlorine in the pool."

For Birth Control "Awful birth control - If your doctor has prescribed this to you, please ask them to reconsider because it truly shouldn't even be on the market. Spotting, nausea, headaches, weight gain are all a few side effects."
