For Birth Control "I've been taking this birth control since March of 2017 and it's worked great for me so far. No pregnancies, no side affects. I absolutely love it. I still get my period during the placebo week but my cramps are way more manageable, and my period is super light and only last 2-3 days, when before it was 4-5 days and horrible horrible cramps. I've always had clear skin but I do notice that the first two weeks of a new pack, my skin is glowing! Towards the last week of the active pills I get my regular period about to start pimples. Sometimes I notice a slight increased irritability but I can't completely attribute that to just this birth control. I've had horrible mood swings on a past medication and haven't gotten even an ounce of that."

For Birth Control "This birth control is awful. I've been on microgestin for almost two months now and I have nothing good to say about it. My anxiety is through the roof (I'm not generally an anxious person), I'm super moody (I'm normally a happy person), I'm extremely bloated 24/7 (I look 6 months pregnant), my hair keeps falling out, I'm nauseous, I just got over my period a week ago and now I have breakthrough bleeding (heavy bleeding), I already have horrid period cramps from PCOS but these microgestin cramps are almost unbearable. Seriously, just don't try this bc..."

For Birth Control "I was given this as instead ofLoestrin, which I normally take. I've been on it 2 months and it's like I have a non-stop period. They're also really heavy which they have never been in my life and my breasts get very enlarged and are so tender. I'm not happy with it at all and will be using something different beginning next month."

For Birth Control "I am in my 30s. I do not take any other medications. I do not smoke or drink. I have anxiety. This birth control ruined my life. My anxiety went through the roof. I couldn't leave the house. My husband was getting frustrated but we communicate well so while he was skeptical he saw the side effects. The enhanced anxiety was nuts! Our anniversary was ruined by me not being able to go into the hotel/casino, sitting in the truck, shaking and throwing up. The hot and cold flashes were unbearable. I couldn't cuddle with my husband and I would go outside to cool off (Thank god we live in the Rocky Mountains) in the snow. Debilitating migraines, nausea, vomiting, etc. I switched to OrthoTri Cyclen Lo :) and my husband is getting a vasectomy."

For Birth Control "I was on this for over a year in that time I gained weight became so stiff in my legs and arms. I was sore all the time had abdominal pain all the time. My Doctor said it was due to a cyst or my pain was something else. I was having chest pains and left arm pain for weeks. I went to a new doctor. He stopped the meds immediately and sent me for an EKG. I don't drink, I don't smoke and am 37 years old and this medicine is poison. I have been off of it for two weeks I feel great I've lost 12 pounds in just water retention I don't feel tight...no more arm pain or chest pain! I feel so good"

For Birth Control "This pill was terrible. Had bad migraines the first 5-6 months of taking it. Plus I would get angry over nothing and have crying spells. After about 8 months of being on this pill, my period would come a week early and last for 2 1/2 weeks. It was light bleeding, but still the point of my period going on that long was not normal. My period normally lasts 5-7 days. I stuck the pills out for another month and when I got that 2 1/2 week period again, I called my obgyn. I explained to her what was going on and she had a nurse pull my chart to change my bc. The only good thing about these pills were that I had no weight gain."

For Birth Control "I have been on Microgestin for 4 months now and I hate it. I have not found a birth control yet that doesn't screw up my period which I use to be able to count on every 30th or so of the month. This is my 3rd birth control. Mood swings, depression, sadness, lower sex drive, increase appetite and oh yeah a whole lot of bleeding. My period is completely out of wack. I tried to skip ONE period. Well it worked. But then out of no where I bled for 19 days straight (not light bleeding either). I don't know what to do! My body hates birth control. My mom said that it was like that for her as well. Not sure what to try next."

For Birth Control "Have endometriosis and took microgestin 1/20 continuously for no periods. Haven’t gotten my period since but experienced extreme moodiness and slight depression the first 4 months. Spotted everyday for 5 months as well, with slight cramping... I took it like a champ cause most birth control will cause this. It’s been 6 months now and all the side effects went away and I’m perfectly normal and happy now with no periods."

For Birth Control "Been on the pill for about 9 months. Only the first month had side effects. Since then, my mental health has finally stabilized. I have had severely unstable moods since I was 9. I also had premenstural dysphoric disorder and extreme cramping. Since taking the pill, my whole life has improved and I'm able to accomplish things such as going to a regular school full time. Now my period only lasts 3 days, and my sex drive is still there :)."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Stopped my periods all together. It is nice, but my doctor didn't mention it when she prescribed it. Was a little stressful the first month when you skip your period and no one has an explanation. Turns out it is a side effect."

For Birth Control "I started on Microgestin 1/20 2 months ago to treat menstrual migraines that were sending me to the hospital. I have always suffered with cramps during my period to the point where I would break out in a sweat and faint from the pain. I was bed ridden for days on end and also experienced heavy periods that required a new pad every 2 hours. I had not been on any other birth control pills in years and I notice a difference the first month taking them. I did not experience any sort of negative side effects aside from increased appetite which I don't mind. My cramps are virtually gone, my pain level is basically non existant aside from a bit of dull ache for an hour or 2 at the beginning of my cycle. Breast tenderness is gone and my periods are so light I would call it spotting that lasts 4 days or so. I haven't been taking this medication very long but it's done wonders for me. I recommend them highly for anyone experiencing what I have mentioned above."

For Birth Control "I have lost 11lbs in 2 months, my period has gotten back on track and my skin has cleared. I don't know if this is a common side effect, but within 5-10 minutes of take my dose of 1 pill I immediately have to urinate. My appetite has decreased while taking this medicine, which has contributed to my recent weight loss. I have cystic acne around my under breast area and on my face cheeks, this medicine has cleared all of this acne. My period is back to once a month for 5-7 days, before I would skip 2-3 months at a time and would only spot for a day or two."

For Birth Control "I was put on Microgestin 1/20 to not only prevent pregnancy, but to prevent the severe cramps I had. It worked well by helping with the cramps and I had almost zero side effects but one- spotting. I spotted almost every day. I continued taking the prescription in hopes the spotting would pass, but it didn't. My OB-GYN then put me on Microgestin 1.5/30 for a few months, to see if that would help. Unfortunately, it didn't, so I stopped taking birth control all together. Hopefully I can find one that works for me!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking microgestin for about a year and a half now, and it just recently occurred to me that the pill is the reason for my mental decline. When I first started the pill things were fine I didn't have any abnormal side effects except for the slight, almost unnoticeable weight gain. Looking back, I've noticed a gradual yet severe change in my mood and happiness. It wasn't until a year and a half later I realized the pill was the reason for this. I sobbed to my mom one night and she explained that the pill did that to her too. After speaking with my gyno the next day, she assured me the progestin in Microgestin was the reason for my depression. I switched to Aviane and feel much much better."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about a month now. I've been bleeding since the first day I started it. I'm now up to my placebo pills which I'm just going to take. I'm hoping my body adjusts soon because the bleeding/spotting is quite aggravating. I've been moody, but I'm a generally moody person and would have to wait it out to say it's the pill doing it. My appetite has actually decreased, which is something I wasn't expecting at all. Other than the bleeding, no complaints on this pill this far."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on this birth control for over a year, and I have not had any complaints so far! This was my first birth control that I had ever taken and it is a life saver! I had the worst periods with aweful cramps and a heavy flow, but now I barely get periods and the pain that comes when I do have a period is very tolerable and minimal. I did not gain any weight since I started the birth control, and in fact, it helped me lose weight. I do not get any acne while on this pill, nor do I get any severe mood swings."

For Endometriosis "I have been very happy on this birth control pill for about three years. I am only switching because I want fewer periods. Before I took this birth control my periods were horrible. I had every symptom in the book. This birth control did cause slight weight gain, however I also went on it when I turned 18...so it could have been metabolism slow down as well. My breasts also grew, no complaints here about that though. I don't get cramps, moodiness, headaches, nausea, or severe stomach upsets with this birth control. Also my period is like clockwork every month....until recently when I endured a lot of stress. I do still get slight stomach upset and bloating along with slight fatigue. All in all it is an amazing birth control!"

For Birth Control "I like Microgestin. My doctor originally put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which caused me breakthrough bleeding everyday. Since Microgestin has double the estrogen if Lo Loestrin Fe, but still considered very low dose. Had minor spotting only in the beginning. No other negative side effects."

For Birth Control "This birth control helped all of my physical symptoms from PMDD and endometriosis, no longer did I cramp and swell all over like a balloon 3 weeks before my period (I was bloating up to 10 lbs almost), my near constant fatigue went away. My breasts grew like 2 cups sizes but they hurt all the time. Also, my scalp hair grew like crazy, it was thicker and fuller than it had been since I was a teenager and my skin was literally GLOWING. I thought I had found the answer to my problems until I slowly began to cry over nothing all the time, have insane anger and lash out at others irrationally... I was so depressed and down after 9 months being on this medication. I even tried to physically attack somebody while drinking which I have never done before, I stopped this medication immediately then. I also had white discharge all the time . If you become depressed on this or sensitive to things like this DO NOT TAKE THIS."

For Birth Control "For me, the time on this pill was a nightmare. I took this pill for 2 years until the start of 2019. Then, took a six month break because I thought the creeping anxiety and depression I'd experienced might be linked to the pill. I went back on Microgestin in June 2019 and things seemed okay. Until September. Suddenly, I felt like my head was in a constant fog again. It started making me anxious, I couldn’t think straight. I started to feel numb, mentally. Like I couldn’t be happy. Then, I started snapping at my partner who I absolutely adore, and realized it was happening again. Long story short, if you’re not feeling like yourself, don’t hesitate to try switching or stopping pills (with a doctor’s advice of course). I’ve had three instances now of feeling like myself again after stopping a birth control pill."

For Birth Control "This medicine is awful. I originally started taking it for stomach cramps and regulating my period and I wish I never started taking it in the first place. I was on the second week of my third pack and felt AWFUL. Not only was I nauseous 24/7 I got headaches, cramps in my upper and lower back, side pains, chest pains. As well as a intolerance to gluten. At first I thought my stomach problem was from eating fast food but as I think about it I was nauseous the first month of taking this pill and it steadily got worse. I'm on my 2nd week off the pill and I'm going through serious side effects of my body trying to regulate itself. I've lost 6 pounds & my appetite. DO NOT take this pill."

For Birth Control "This birth control has made my periods and overall symptoms worse than ever. I started taking it to help with my irregular periods, which after a few months, it did. But every other aspect of my periods have become worse. I used to have light periods with no symptoms, but after taking this birth control, I have had heavy periods with bad cramps, and I’ve developed cystic acne all over my chin and jaw. I’ve tried this birth control a few times over many years, but I’m finally quitting it for good. It has been awful to my skin and made my periods miserable, I cannot recommend this to anyone with relatively normal periods, because it has only made mine worse."

For Birth Control "I absolutely adore microgestin, now that I've been on it for three and a half months. The first two months were brutal. In the second week I had horrible uterine cramping and terrible cramping during my period also. The first month also, until I got used to it, it did give me mood swings, but did not make me depressed. Once I was on it for a few months, however, all of this went away. Right now I have mild breast tenderness but honestly it isn't bad at all and I'd recommend it to anyone."

For Birth Control "I've been taking microgestin fe for 3 months now. The first two there were no really bad side effects except some acne and heavy flow with nasty cramps that I was assured would go away by month three....ABSOLUTELY NOT. Month three has been the worst.....I break out all the time when I never used to get pimples, I feel nauseous and pukey all day every day, no food sounds or tastes good, I have back pain and lower abdominal pain, I'm bloated and swollen, and I've gained almost 8 pounds!!! This is absolutely miserable"
