For Birth Control "I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for one month exactly. So far, I love it! I started my first pill on the first day of my period, and no problems. I bleed about 3-4 days after my period was supposed to stop, but I guess that is normal. Other than that, it is perfect!"

For Birth Control "I was on Lo Lo for 4 miserable months! During those 4 months, I spotted and or bled heavily for 3 weeks out of the month, stopped bleeding only while on the first week of the pack. I was also severely depressed and had 3 horrible panic attacks, one was so bad I was taken to the ER. My anxiety while on Lo Lo got to a point where simple everyday tasks, like going to the grocery or taking my kids out, were impossible for me. I felt lightheaded/dizzy and fatigued on a daily basis. After numerous visits and phone calls to my OBGYN, she finally took me off this pill, and my mood has changed dramatically. I now feel I’m back to my normal self. Lo Lo was a nightmare for me!"

For Birth Control "I have taken the pill for four months. The first month was almost continuous light bleeding, which wasn't too awful because I was prepared for the first month to be rough. After that, everything went pretty well. I did experience a couple of side effects, though. I would have two light periods each month. The first one (what my normal period would be) was very light and lasted about three days. The second one would be a little heavier and last about five days. Cramping was very minimal, so that part was good. Aside from this, I did have some minor breakouts, at least compared to how my skin usually is, which may or may not have been a side effect. It wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean it isn't for everyone. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "Okay, so when I originally read reviews for this pill, I was TERRIFIED. I assume you understand why. But I decided to give it a shot since my old BC (Lutera) was not working for my body. Having previously struggled pretty badly with acne, I was prepared for the worst. My skin did get worse, yes, but with a consistent skin care routine, I have managed it back to normal. I have been on this pill for 6 months, and I actually like it a lot. I get cramps, but my periods are 2 days, if at all. I had some breakthrough bleeding at the beginning, but it wasn't bad at all and did not bother me. It's worth a shot. Not all birth controls are perfect. You are pumping your body with hormones that shouldn't be there, hence the side effects. Good luck!"

For Birth Control "I am 26 and have been on this BC for 6 months now. I took another brand (with higher dose) before, but it caused a lot of negative side effects, including fainting, night blood pressure, and nausea. My doctor recommended Lolo for managing my PCOS, and it has been great. The first pack was like an adjusting period where the cycle was irregular, disgusting discharge, etc. Periods now come regularly. No weight gain (or loss). Blood pressure remains the same. Because it has the lowest dose among all other brands, I have to take it every day and at the same time or I will have light bleeding (like one drop...) the next day. Why go with a higher dose when you can achieve the same effect with lower?"

For Birth Control "I am always bleeding between periods. I’ve also gained 15 pounds, and on a skinny girl, it’s very noticeable! My acne hasn’t gotten worse or better. And now I’m not getting my period when I should be. I am experiencing depression where I don’t want to be around anyone. I don’t want to eat because I’m gaining so much weight. I’m stuck in my head and lashing out at people. I’m not my normal self. I wish I found a pill that rids my acne and doesn’t affect my weight or sex drive."

For Birth Control "I just started Lo Loestrin Fe on December 31, 2019. I had been taking Junel Fe, but was switched to a lower dose of hormones because of high blood pressure. I’ve got to say I hope it gets better soon because I started bleeding in the middle of the pack and cramping, and my uterus is shedding. It’s uncomfortable and painful. I hope my body gets used to it and this bleeding isn’t a current thing."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lo Loestrin for almost 2 months and was extremely nervous, since the last birth control I had been on did not work at all. Lo Loestrin has been absolutely great for me. I weigh 120 and am 19 years old. I have experienced no mood swings, heavy bleeding, headaches, nausea, or vomiting. I would definitely recommend anyone to give this birth control a shot!"

"I was only taking Lo Loestrin Fe to control my heavy bleeding after getting my tubes tied. However, it really didn't help it, as I ended up with two periods a month due to breakthrough bleeding. My boobs blew up so much that I had to buy a bra extender, and they hurt all day. My sex drive left the building and never looked back, and I didn't have that issue before. My husband and I both noticed Lo Loestrin Fe changed my moods dramatically. I know I gained weight on this, and I always felt hungry. I had horrible cramps and even leg swelling, so after four months I stopped taking this. I read all the reviews and was very nervous about getting back on the pill, but my best friend didn't have any issues, so that's why I tried it. This didn't work for me, and I hope I start feeling like myself again soon."

For Birth Control "I used to take Aviane and decided to switch to Lo Loestrin because Aviane was giving me 0 sex drive and 0 libido. Well, nothing changed with Lo Loestrin, if anything, it got worse. I’m on my 6th month, and for the past 6 months, I’ve been having 2 periods every month. I’m constantly bleeding. Why take birth control when you can’t even have sex since you’re always bleeding?"

For Birth Control "I am constantly nauseous and in severe pain in my entire abdominal and lower back area. My new gynecologist has stated multiple times that it is not due to this pill, but as I am living on 2-3 liters of ginger ale a day and only able to eat bread, soup, and maybe an occasional few bites of actual food a day since starting this pill, I believe the gynecologist is mistaken. I have not had the weight gain mentioned in previous comments, probably because I am only able to stomach about a dozen bites of food a day for the past 5 months. I am now bleeding between 15-20 days a month, unable to eat, and having severe, intense labor-like cramps every day. This medication is unsafe and must be immediately removed from all pharmacy shelves. I am stopping them immediately, no matter what supposed experts tell me. I know my own body, and I feel like I am dying because of a pill. I am not mentally unstable-just flabbergasted that it is still being given to women."

For Birth Control "The first few months were fine. No serious side effects. Obviously, I did not get pregnant, so it was effective in that way. The side effects after maybe 6 months or so were terrible. Bleeding for 2 1/2+ weeks out of the month, weight gain (about 30 pounds), irritable. I dealt with it because I had the mindset, 'it's better this than getting pregnant so early.' After about a year and three months, I'm bleeding for 3 weeks out of the month. I'm switching to Loestrin 1/20. More estrogen for me."

For Birth Control "I took this Lo Loestrin birth control to lessen cramps, prevent heavy bleeding, and to halt the growth of cysts and polyps, which I am prone to. Within the first few days, I had light bleeding, which is normal. In addition, my breasts were very tender for months, which is also normal. The positives of this medication are my mood was very balanced, I did not experience emotional PMS symptoms anymore, and my period was very light and short. I personally could not tolerate the breast tenderness and constant breakthrough bleeding. I lasted about four to six months on this birth control before switching."

For Birth Control "I was on this Lo Loestrin birth control for 6 months and absolutely hated it. Within the first 2 months, I was having breakthrough bleeding multiple times a week, and after the second month, I stopped getting a period for 2 1/2 months and suddenly started a heavy, painful period again, weekly. Not to mention how terribly moody I was, I actually felt like I was going crazy. Sad, happy, and extremely angry within 10 minutes, as well as extreme nausea and appetite loss. I decided to wait it out, hopeful that my body would eventually get used to this, but I can’t do it anymore and decided to switch pills finally, which I am happy about as I was not covered for these and was paying over $100 for 3 months of pills on top of all of that."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control I have ever used, and the side effects are constantly changing. The first 3 months were great besides some irregular bleeding. Then came the 6th month mark with shorter periods but also severe anxiety and depression. After coping with that, my migraines got worse and eventually started having auras. In the last year, I gained 20 pounds, and my breasts went up 2 sizes. Yes, this medication did the job, but be prepared for all the side effects it has."

For Birth Control "My worst problem with this pill was the weight gain. 15 pounds in 2 months. No change in diet, and I have been exercising more - another issue was the breakout bleeding for no reason. I had one month where I had a week of bleeding (7 full days), then 7 days off, then another 7 days of bleeding - again for no reason, pill taken at the same time daily, etc. I am going off of this after 4 months. I think everyone reacts differently, but my doctor said this pill specifically did not have these side effects, and I think I could deal with the insomnia (although annoying), but unfortunately I cannot afford a whole new wardrobe, and the weight gain is unacceptable."

For Birth Control "This is by far the best pill I have ever tried, and let me tell you, I've tried almost everything out there in the past six years. Alesse was the only one that almost worked for me, and I was on it for two years, but I never really got over the nausea and the mood swings. With Lo Lo, I have not experienced any mood swings, no weight gain, no nausea, no tenderness or pain... Nothing. I even managed to take it continuously not to get my period, which I haven't been able to do with any other pill. I would always end up getting my period, sometimes in the middle of my cycle. I'd always get breakthrough bleeding. This one just works perfectly for me. I'm at four months of use, and I don't plan on changing it anytime soon."

For Birth Control "I just started taking this pill to stop menstrual migraines. Well, all I can say is I want to get off. I'm a 7-day bleeder, and it's been 10 days, and I'm still bleeding heavily. I've had more headaches and migraines than usual. I want to stop, but I'm going to give it 1 more month, hoping that this will all subside. Fingers crossed."

For Birth Control "I got the pill from my family doctor as a sample pack. He said I should try it since I have been having acne problems since I gave birth. The first month was fine, on my second pack, a week after my period, I started bleeding again. I was just on the fourth pill on the first row. The blood was brownish in color, not the usual red. I am also having hip pains, really bad ones, back pains, and breathing problems. At one point, I felt like I was having a heart attack. Not sure if it was related to the pill, but I didn't have this before. I decided to stop the pill, let my extra period finish, and I would go back to my old pill."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control I’ve ever! I asked my doctor to switch birth control because after being on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 9 years, I started to get migraines. She told me to change it to Lo Loestrin. I waited and decided to give it a try. Eleven days later, I started spotting, cramping, and bleeding. My face started to break out. Never had any issues with a birth control. I stopped taking them. So please stay away from these pills."

For Birth Control "I have tried every birth control pill out there... I was reluctant to try Lo Loestrin Fe. Glad I did, however! It's the ONLY pill that didn't give me side effects and I could take in the morning. Slight breakthrough bleeding every now and then for the first two months, but other than that, it's the best one yet!"

For Birth Control "Love this BC. I had tried a few when I was younger that made me gain weight and be very emotional. I stopped taking BC after that for years. Well, my periods were so bad that I knew I needed to try BC again to see if that would help. I LOVE THIS!! The first few months while my body was adjusting, I was lightly bleeding for a few weeks at a time (nothing more than a panty liner). It was annoying, but I did figure that my body was just adjusting. Now I have been on the pill for 6 months. I get a light period (panty liner only) for 2 days, and that's it. I have no side effects. I think I lost some weight because it helps my emotional PMS, so I don't eat as much right before my period. I don't have emotional side effects. I FEEL better overall, I am so happy."

For Birth Control "I took Lo Loestrin for 3 months, with horrible side effects the entire time! My doctor wanted me to stick it out for 3 months before switching to give my body time to get used to it. It was the worst 3 months of my life. I was nauseous constantly, especially with physical exercise. I would have to sit down from walking because I would get too dizzy/nauseous from it. I started the pills on Day 1 of my period and then bled the entire 3 months! Not just spotting either. The only time it was spotting was for the 7 days when I was supposed to get my period each month, the rest of the time was horrible heavy bleeding. The worst part, though, was the anxiety and depression. I cried every single day. Couldn't get out of bed and had anxiety attacks. Ended up switching pills."
