For Birth Control "So it's been three months on this birth control, and I'm insanely happy! I read a lot of reviews, and I was afraid of the side effects, but so far I haven't noticed anything off. The first month was awful because I was bleeding every day. I almost decided to stop taking it, but my doctor assured me everything would sort out after the first month, and she was right! My periods are almost non-existent, no cramps or bloating either. My skin is looking better than ever. I haven't gained any weight, in fact, I'm down 5 pounds from when I started. Weight gain was my biggest fear, but I have been eating healthy and hardly doing any workouts with no problems. So I would definitely recommend this method of birth control."

For Birth Control "I'm 23 years old, and I've been taking Lo Lo for about 3 years now. It was the first birth control pill I ever tried, and I've had such a good experience with it. For reference, I am 5'4" and a healthy weight, without significant medical/psych history. During the first month or two of starting the pill, my only side effect was breakthrough bleeding, which subsided. I haven't had any weight changes or mood changes while on this medication. My favorite part about Lo Lo is that it's low-dose, and that my periods are VERY light; sometimes I will go a couple of months without even having one - that might not be ideal for some people, but I personally like it. Try it out!"

For Birth Control "Have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 11 months. At first, I experienced light bleeding and headaches. After a few months on it, I have not had a period in 5 months and no other side effects. Not having a period does make me somewhat weary, but will be visiting my gynecologist this week for a yearly check-up."

For Birth Control "I started this BC for severe bleeding, and it was a horrible experience. I am 33 years old, and this is the worst BC pill I have ever used. I bled for 12 days straight during my first period while on this pill. It has also caused my face to break out horribly and awful mood swings. It has also caused me to be severely bloated. I would not recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for about 3 years. Although Lo Loestrin Fe did stop cramping and gave me a little to no bleeding monthly periods, the mental health dip that I took was not worth it. Within the first year, my family and friends noticed I was moody and possibly depressed. I knew I was anxious and began having panic attacks. I was prescribed antidepressants and lived the next two years very out of it and sad. The last year on this birth control I started having migraines. The migraines were debilitating. My gut instinct told me to stop taking the birth control after doing some research. Within the first 6 months of not taking this birth control, I started to feel like myself again and the migraines went away. I am happier than ever and loving life! I have decided to go the hormone-less route. I've had the copper IUD for about a year now and I love it! I’m sure the Lo Loestrin works for some, but for me, it did not."

For Birth Control "This is the best birth control I've come across. I'm seriously blown away. I have had zero mood swings-even near my period. I had breakthrough bleeding the first month, and that was it. My periods are already so light, and I'm only on the third month. My face cleared right up and has been less oily. I've lost weight... I'm on cloud nine. I have never had this well of an experience on birth control, as I'm very sensitive to medications."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for around 6 months now, and I love it. At first, I had a lot of random bleeding and spotting the first month. Second month, I had my period, but it was really short, around 3 days. Third month, I had lighter spotting. After that, I have had no periods at all, but I do get some cramps when I am supposed to have it. I have had no side effects at all from this, and it is the best birth control I have used so far."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for a little over 3 weeks now, and it's absolutely terrible. Let me start off by saying I take it at the exact same time every single day and have never missed a pill, so I am using it correctly. The second week in, I began bleeding and have been for over 10 days now. Not just a little spotting, but full-out blood, almost like a period, and with cramps! My boyfriend noticed I'm moodier. I'm so emotional I can cry at any second over the smallest things, and I get headaches all the time. The first week I took the pill, I had no appetite and was sweating and hot every second. I know you are supposed to wait 3 months to let your body adjust to the birth control, but it is not worth bleeding for over a week and the mood swings."

For Birth Control "Okay, I have been experiencing heavy bleeding where I was bleeding every day, now I am severely anemic. I have been on huge iron pills. I started Lo Loestrin and am on my 3rd month. I am experiencing bad acne, spotting, and still have abnormal periods. I am trying my best to be patient and allow the pills to take effect. My period started on the 18th, and although it was over yesterday, Christmas, I started spotting/bleeding later in the night. I am at my wits' end. I have had two accidents while working, I don't know when my period will begin or end, so I am wearing a pad every day."

For Birth Control "For years I swore Lo Loestrin was the best BC I'd ever been on. I no longer had periods, which I loved, no bleeding, cramping, or bloating ever. No weight gain. I loved it so much I'd even shell out over $100 a month just to purchase it once I lost my insurance and later when my new insurance wouldn't cover it. Other concerns led me to the idea of quitting birth control altogether. I'm in a committed relationship, and I think 15 years of taking hormones is enough. After I stopped taking it for a couple of months, my libido skyrocketed. It took getting off of Lo Loestrin to realize it had virtually killed my sex drive completely. My marriage is so much better without it! It's effective, but understand like any other drug there are costs."

For Birth Control "Lo Loestrin Fe was the first (and will be the only) birth control pill that I tried. The first week and a half was completely fine, and I was really happy that I wasn't experiencing any negative side effects. Then, midway through the second week of the pack, I started bleeding. At first, I wasn't concerned because I knew that breakthrough bleeding was common, and I figured in a few days it would disappear. However, the bleeding was extremely heavy and clumpy, which is definitely not typical for me. In addition, my cramping was constant and EXTREMELY painful, making it difficult for me to participate in everyday activities. Not to mention that I have now been bleeding for 9, going on 10 days, with no end in sight. I am so disappointed with this pill."

For Birth Control "I have spent nearly 5 years on this birth control, taking it continuously, to help keep my endometriosis under control. I have been on many different pills over the years, including very high doses of estrogen. They would work for the first year, then I would get constant breakthrough bleeding. I've always had issues with acne, but this pill didn't make it any better or worse. I have occasionally suffered from random cramps, usually due to shifting the time I took my pills during the time changes of the year. I am vigilant about taking it the same time every day, have never had a pregnancy scare, and was hoping to continue with it indefinitely, however, my insurance provider had other plans. I am hoping to go back on it again ASAP."

For Birth Control "I never write reviews but figured this might help someone out. I hated Lo Loestrin Fe. It made me super depressed, and I gained 15 pounds on it. Not to mention I bled for two weeks straight during the second month of taking it. After I got off this pill, I felt so much better. This pill really was awful and messed with me more than a higher dose estrogen pill, I would never recommend this."

For Birth Control "I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for 2 months. I took this medication because I had extremely painful periods. I was practically bed-ridden for 2-3 days every month. While the medication did help my pain go away, I bled... a lot! My period itself was 4 days longer than usual, and I spotted for a week and a half before having another full-size period. It was ridiculous. My doctor kept telling me, 'Spotting is normal. Spotting will go away. It should stop soon.' But I'm telling you, it was a lot of blood. I could constantly feel myself bleeding, and it oftentimes came out in clots. Not worth it in the end for me."

For Birth Control "This Lo Loestrin Fe BC is great! My former pill would cause constant bleeding - I switched to Lo Loestrin a year and a half ago, and I have had no periods, no spotting, no headaches/migraines, no weight gain, and only a slight increase in depression/mood and slight gain in boob size. This medication is EXPENSIVE, there is a savings card currently, but be aware it ends June 30, 2019. With my former insurance + savings card, it was $25/month. New insurance + savings card, it's $60/month. Once the savings card expires, with current insurance, it is $250/month, and no insurance, it's $160/month. To me, for no periods and no worries, it's worth it."

For Birth Control "After reading all those comments, I feel blessed that this birth control works perfectly for me and I have zero issues. I have had a laparotomy myomectomy surgery a few years ago, and I have been bleeding so heavily since that I wasn't even able to leave my house for 20 minutes because I would bleed through my pants. My periods would be 2 or 3 weeks long, extreme bleeding, and I have tried other brands/shots with no results. I started this one a year ago, bled for the first whole month, and was getting desperate, but my periods stopped altogether and I haven't had one since the first pack. My skin is perfect, so no issues there. My hair was falling out a bit, but then I went vegan and my hair was good again."

For Birth Control "Worst thing ever. First, I hate all birth controls, but my doctor insisted on it since I had one ovarian cyst. I asked not to have this one since I had it last time. The pill makes me very depressed and feel very aggressive, and I've been sick the whole time on it. I called to try and switch and was told I haven't taken it long enough to get used to it? But I've taken the exact same one twice, and last time I took myself off of it, I bled for three months straight. I don't think that's supposed to be normal. Moral of it, I need to find a better doctor and never touch this stupid pill ever again."

For Birth Control "This is the best pill that I have been on and have been on this more than 5 years. First of all, a very low dose of estrogen, it helps with my perimenopausal symptoms and cysts on ovaries. There is no nausea, no weight gain, no moodiness, and I probably only get my period 2-3 times a year. I will say you must take it at the exact same time every day, if you don’t, you will definitely spot or risk bleeding. I just set my phone alarm as a reminder. I highly recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "One month report - I had constant small bleeding for a full month - now on month 2 and thinking I will not have any period. I plan to give the pill a full 3 months. But wanted to comment about continuous bleeding for the first month, enough that you would need a pad or small tampon only. One side effect is I am having some constipation but increasing my water to help this. I will update my status after month 2."

For Birth Control "I've only started this pill almost two weeks ago. I've never been on birth control before now and was looking for reviews on this brand. I've had insanely bad cramps on these that I never used to have, and have had my period for two weeks straight just about, the bleeding still heavier than ever. I started heavy bleeding a few cycles ago and thought the pill would help. I've also gained a lot of weight, which is sad, but I can't say I'm all that upset to find that my breasts are noticeably bigger. I've also generally had lighter acne, only breaking out in one place at a time, but since starting Lo Loestrin Fe, I seem to be breaking out more."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for one month exactly. So far, I love it! I started my first pill on the first day of my period, and no problems. I bleed about 3-4 days after my period was supposed to stop, but I guess that is normal. Other than that, it is perfect!"

For Birth Control "I have taken the pill for four months. The first month was almost continuous light bleeding, which wasn't too awful because I was prepared for the first month to be rough. After that, everything went pretty well. I did experience a couple of side effects, though. I would have two light periods each month. The first one (what my normal period would be) was very light and lasted about three days. The second one would be a little heavier and last about five days. Cramping was very minimal, so that part was good. Aside from this, I did have some minor breakouts, at least compared to how my skin usually is, which may or may not have been a side effect. It wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean it isn't for everyone. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "I love you all for your honest reviews and feel relieved that I am not alone! I was on Lo Loestrin FE years ago and did not notice too many side effects except nausea and some breakthrough bleeding. I am now peri-menopausal and am taking this instead of HRT, but it has caused months of steady nausea, pain in my lower back, extreme breast tenderness, and even terrible gas! It took me a while to put together that all these side effects were caused by this BC. Additionally, I began to feel depressed, anxious, and even suicidal. This is not like me! I took the last 'blue pill' today and am done with this medicine forever. I'll take my chances with hot flashes and insomnia or switch back to HRT instead of being on this med again."
