For Birth Control "I am a healthy 20-year-old. I've only been on birth control for a little over a year now. Previous to Junel Fe 1.5/30, I was on Blisovi. But last time I went to get my prescription filled, they gave me Junel instead. I've just completed my second pack. In this second month, I've really been struggling, these past couple of weeks, I am nauseated every day, usually at night. I've lost my appetite completely, I rarely eat anymore. This is REALLY starting to worry me. I'm losing weight, my breast size has increased. I have terrible anxiousness, and I feel so in my head, depressed with scary dark thoughts (not like me at ALL). I also feel very detached/unemotional. TMI, I don't think I'm pregnant, but I've been having irregular periods, they come close to the middle of the pack instead of during the inactive pills. My periods are all dark blood (black and brown) and usually very clotted-looking. I'm not bashing this pill, I just don't think it's really agreeing with my body. I hope this helps someone!"

For Birth Control "Before I was on the Junel Fe 1.5/30 pill, I read these reviews and was so, so scared with all the negative things people were experiencing because this was my first time being on birth control. Since everyone's experience is different, I was hoping mine would be positive. I have been using this pill for a little over 1 month, and so far, so good. The only negative effect is that since being on the pill, I had slight nausea in the morning in the first week. But I have seen more positive effects than negative. The positive effects I have had were that my breast grew a little bigger (I'd probably say I went up from a B to a C cup), my period has completely stopped with only slight spotting, and I haven't seen any changes with gaining weight, no hair loss, no mood changes, etc. So far, so good! Just remember that everyone's experience is different. You'll find the best pill for you :)"

For Birth Control "I’ve been reading a lot of these reviews and, unfortunately, have read that most people have really bad experiences with this birth control. Personally, this is the first birth control I have taken that hasn’t completely ruined my life. My boobs have gotten bigger, I’m finally filling out, my acne is clearing up, and I haven’t had any nausea or depression. Strangely, while most reviewers have noticed a decrease in sex drive, mine has increased, and vaginal dryness is not a thing for me. I think it is safe to say that this form of birth control is not for everyone, but it is worth a shot."

For Birth Control "I came to ease anyone’s anxieties who are reading all of these bad reviews—just remember we are more likely to leave a review if we have a bad experience vs. a good experience. I had a little nausea and irregular bleeding at the beginning, but no other side effects. This has been a great option for me. Give it a try and remember if you have side effects or don’t like it—you can stop taking it and your body will go back to normal."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 6 months now. The first month was not fun: a few really bad mood swings and a lot of spotting. I have never had mood swings before in my life, so that was pretty scary. Eventually, everything leveled out, and I’m fine now! I was on the (lowest) dosage right below 1.0/20, but kept having spotting around the middle of the pack, so my doctor switched me to the 1.5/30. I’ve been experiencing some very light nausea in the morning, but nothing crazy. I wanted to leave my review for this birth control because of all the negative reviews on here. I haven’t gained any weight, my skin has cleared up, and my breasts have gotten maybe 1/2 cup size larger (not a bad thing, lol). I also must add that I’ve been suffering from depression my whole life. Before starting BC, I was off my low-level antidepressants for about 2 years. After starting BC, I had to get back on a light 10mg of Prozac."

For Birth Control "OMG! Reading these reviews explains so much! To start off, I'm a 19-year-old, and this was the first ever birth control I've been on. - Nausea my first month, but it went away. - INSANELY BIG APPETITE. I'm 5'3 and I gained 25 lbs in 6 months. - Depression. I was never depressed my entire life, and on this pill, I became so sad it's crazy... one week, every day that week, I would wake up at 5 and have these crazy thoughts about my boyfriend cheating on me. - Decreased sex drive, vaginal dryness... - RECURRING YEAST INFECTION EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I never had a yeast infection in my life. - Boobs swollen and tender even after being on it for 6 months. - Positive side: I didn't get pregnant on it. The side effects weren't terrible, but the only reason I'm giving such low stars is because of its effect on my mental health. Why does this pill do this to you? I'm just going to use condoms and hope for the best, lmao."

For Birth Control "I started with the lower dose 1/20. It didn't give me my period, so I asked my doctor to up my dose to 1.5/30. About 2 weeks after taking it, I got my period, but about 2 weeks after, I started feeling TERRIBLE side effects. I felt depressed and started to have bad anxiety and panic attacks. I had heart palpitations and couldn't even eat anything without getting nauseous and throwing up. I lost 5 pounds in less than 2 weeks. I thought I was just mentally unstable, but after taking a break off them for 2 days, I started to feel normal again. These pills were literally making me SICK. I just tried taking the lower dose of the birth control today and almost had a panic attack. Even the lower dose doesn't do me well at all. I am officially stopping this medication immediately, it's confirmed that it is bad for my body, my mind, and my overall health. Please consider your birth control as a suspect before anything else, your every birth control can affect you differently."

For Birth Control "I love this pill because it takes my appetite away, and that's a good thing. No breast tenderness. No breakthrough bleeding or nausea. No hair loss. I don't know if it is doing what it's supposed to be doing. It's too early to tell. But I'm not cramping and bleeding excessively. That's good, but even if I were, that no appetite thing is the bomb diggity!"

For Birth Control "To keep this short and sweet, because of this birth control Junel Fe 1.5/30, I got a blood clot in my lung and had to be admitted to the hospital and be put on blood thinners. This pill is actually so awful, between the 24/7 period cramps, rapid mood swings and super dark thoughts, and nearly puking every day for a week and two days. May 7th, 2019, marks the day an ER doctor told me I had a blood clot due to the Junel. Two ER docs questioned me on why I was even taking this, so stay the away from this. And NEVER EVER take this."

For Birth Control "I took Junel Fe for three cycles, and gosh, was it a mess. I'm 5'3" and weighed 123 starting it. At the end, when I switched BC, I weighed 114. This made me severely nauseous, moody, and just made my anxiety horrendous. I would cry for no reason and overreact. I give major props to my boyfriend for dealing with me... It got so bad to the point where he loved the placebo week because I didn't have nearly as bad of a reaction. However, I never got pregnant on this BC, so it does what it claims. Props to it. I know BC is different for everyone, so don't let this discourage you. I'm just sharing my experience..."

For Birth Control "Listen, I have been taking Junel Fe 1.5/30 birth control for 2 weeks, and my side effects are nausea, occasional vomiting, low sex drive, dry vagina, painful vagina, dizziness, insomnia, weird heart fluttery feelings, and headaches. It's been two weeks, and I genuinely feel near death. Ohhh, and I've started to get bumps on my face. Getting off of this as soon as I possibly can."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control on the planet. I experienced every negative side effect immediately after starting it (nausea, headaches, bloating, fatigue, complete brain fog, dizziness, horrible cystic acne), and now, after deciding to completely quit it 4 months later due to these side effects, I got diagnosed with a DVT. A freaking blood clot in my leg, after being on this for only 4 months. And, after reading other reviews, it doesn't sound like I am the only one who has experienced this. Hundreds of dollars later for tests and medication, now I have to take blood thinners for 3 months. Stay away from this medication!"

For Birth Control "I've only been taking Junel Fe 1.5/30 for 12 days and so far, so good. I was really worried because of all the horrible reviews, but honestly... nothing has changed. No headaches or nausea... no hair loss, no difference in appetite... the ONLY thing is that one night I did have slight aches in my lower legs, but that went away. Also, my breasts are sensitive, but not really painful. Maybe I'm reviewing it too soon, but so far, so good."

For Birth Control "I did not get pregnant while taking Junel Fe 1.5, so technically it worked. However, that could have been because it knocked my libido down quite a bit, so I was basically abstinent. I also gained weight, had problems with my skin, and found myself suffering from drastic mood swings and anxiety. I was nauseous daily, despite taking the pill with food, at night or at precisely the same time every day. As someone who infrequently suffers migraines, this pill made them a thousand times worse. Blinding headaches. I've been off it for a year and a few months at this point and have seen a huge reduction in migraines and problems with my libido since. Pro: While I was on this, it made my periods really light or nonexistent."

For Birth Control "I have never been on birth control prior to this, so I only know how this one (Junel Fe 1.5/30) works, and I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I will say that it’s helped clear up my skin, and I haven’t noticed any particular weight gain, other than the fact that I can’t seem to lose weight, despite eating better and exercising regularly. Some side effects that I’ve experienced are an incredible drop in my sex drive and also a very noticeable appetite difference. I hardly have an appetite for any food ever. I also notice light nausea in the mornings. I had normal periods the first 2 or 3 months, but this last period I had barely came at all, and it was just slight brown discharge for like 4 days. This freaked me out since it hadn’t changed my period before, but my doctor did say it takes a few months for your body to sort itself out after you start birth control. Overall, I think it’s an okay pill to take if you don’t want to get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I haven't been on this birth control pill long. I started taking the pill after my doctor said it would help with my PCOS. I missed one day, and the next day, I was extremely emotional, like I was having a mental breakdown! I'm an emotional person anyway, but it's normally when something happens, and I've never had a breakdown out of nowhere. I've had all the memories I suppressed when I was younger come back at full force. I'm very depressed and feel very lonely. I'm nauseous and can't eat. I'm having cramps out of this world. It feels like I'm going to get my period soon, and I'm just finishing week 1. I'm going to stop the birth control and see if I somewhat go back to normal."

For Birth Control "Update from my post on July 26, 2020. I am now 7 months in with the Junel Fe 1.5/30 pill. Haven’t experienced any bad symptoms yet other than the first few weeks on the pill. Sometimes I would wake up feeling very nauseous. Other than that, haven’t had anything negative. Other than this, the pill makes my periods really irregular, so I never know when it is starting. Because of that, I’ve missed my period 2 times and freaked out and took pregnancy tests that both came out negative. Right now, I’m 2 weeks late, but I’m not worried because ever since I’ve been on the pill, it’s always been late. So far, this pill hasn’t changed my mood, hasn’t made me depressed. I’ve gained a little weight, but that might just be quarantine weight since I don’t walk a lot every day. My sexual drive decreased a little, but I have a high sexual drive, so it just turned to normal. Lol, and no bad acne. Like I said before, each pill is different for everyone :)"

For Birth Control "The first 2 weeks I had really bad nausea and terrible mood swings, where I was especially depressed and anxious. I still am feeling pretty depressed and anxious almost every day while taking this pill, but the nausea has subsided. I didn’t really notice a change in my weight, but my appetite definitely decreased. I have noticed that my hair is definitely thinner, and after reading the reviews again, I’m realizing that this definitely could be because of the birth control. I still get my period, but it is very light. I still am continuing to get cramps and nausea and my regular PMS symptoms the week where I do not take the pill and get my period, so I am planning to switch pills since it’s not helping me in this department. Overall, this pill prevented pregnancy and I didn’t have any major symptoms except for mood swings, but it just didn’t really do anything for me in terms of helping my PMS symptoms."

For Birth Control "I have been on Chateal (bad), Levora (good for one year), Nexplanon (awesome, but bad vaginal dryness), Aubra (worst nausea of my life), Apri (the BEST! Lost all sex drive and my boobs though, lol), and Junel Fe 1.5/30 for 3 months. Junel was my worst experience. I am a very stable person and literally thought I was on the brink of a psychotic episode. Now I’m going to try NuvaRing."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for over 5 years. The first ~6 months were difficult (I had to take it with food or I'd get nauseous, certain times of the cycle it made me extremely tired, moody, etc.). The longer I stayed on it, the more those symptoms subsided - so I encourage anyone struggling with it to hold out because it will likely improve. I also learned that you have to take it at the EXACT same time every day or the side effects are worse. The past few years, I have had no problems with it at all."

For Birth Control "I took Junel Fe 1.5/30 for three months before I switched to a new birth control. It did effectively prevent pregnancy and gave me a regular period. The first couple of weeks consisted of terrible nausea and extremely tender breasts. The nausea did subside after the first month or so. My breasts have been tender the entire three months and have grown very much. Although I did not gain weight, I did have really bad mood swings, non-existent sex drive, and depression! I didn't notice until the end of the 2nd month going into the third one, but I was constantly unhappy and my mood could switch at the drop of a dime. Before taking this pill, my sex drive with my boyfriend was extremely high, but after I began taking it, we've gone nearly 2 months without even touching each other because of me (feel so bad). The pills affect everyone differently, so it really is trial and error."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control after being on another pill for five years. I've been on this pill for three months. I've gained noticeable weight, solely because I feel like I can't stop eating. Even more so, I'm exhausted all the time, my energy is low. I'm a very active person and it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the workouts. This is NOT me. I've also had headaches (and migraines) almost every day. These headaches are debilitating. I've had to call out of work because my head was pounding and I was overwhelmed with nausea. I'm currently working with my OB to find an alternative. I'm sure this pill would be great for someone, but it's not the one for me."

No horrible side effects, slight nausea here and there but nothing major. A little bit of weight gain in my tummy. But my cup size has gone up from a C 38 to D 36 in less than 3 months."

For Birth Control "I got on this birth control because Nexplanon was giving me too many issues. Ever since starting it, my acne has been awful. I’m talking like 10 new pimples a day. I’m tired constantly and can sleep for 16 hours and still not be able to get up. My breasts are huge and in excruciating pain. I didn’t bleed the second month I was on this pill but still had the most awful cramps, I thought my cramps on Nexplanon were at a 10 pain level, but I was wrong. I get nauseous, and if I go over 2 hours without eating, I feel like I’m starving. I’m so weak and nearly passing out during workouts. At night, my legs tingle and hurt and go numb. I’m having the darkest thoughts I’ve ever had, and I’m far out of puberty. I’m scared of things I may do and the way I feel if it gets worse. I cry upwards of 5 times an average day. I keep having trouble sleeping despite the extreme exhaustion. I’m going to the doctor today to see what can be done."
