For Birth Control "Been on this one or Gildess 21 day for almost five years. I didn't feel a difference between Gildess and this. I love how this regulates my periods. I always know when the first day is coming, and the cramps and heavy bleeding only last one day on the first day, when they lasted longer before the pill. I will say, I have forgotten to take the pill until the next day and felt fine (would still use backup birth control), but the one day I lost the pill and didn't take it at all, I got a massive migraine a couple of days later. Probably something to do with the hormones. If you have some anxiety on it, try daily vitamin B. It helped me a bit, although I know that isn't the definitive answer for everyone. Overall, I would suggest this pill."

For Birth Control "I had not so great of an experience with this pill. It definitely made my period lighter, didn’t make me break out or anything, and didn’t get me pregnant, which was good. But it came with a lot of side effects. The first two months, I was extremely moody/sad and just wasn’t myself, but that went away in the meantime. I'm small and built pretty athletic, and I still gained about 10 pounds. I would get my period twice a month, which I thought was normal for the first month or so, but six months went by and I’d still be getting it twice a month. I just switched over to Nortrel, which hopefully will stop the breakthrough bleeding. Don’t be afraid to try Junel FE out, though, everyone’s body takes things differently. I’d say give it at least three months to get used to it, then if you’re still having issues, I’d advise you to change."

For Birth Control "My gyno prescribed Junel 1/20 because of my heavy, painful periods. I had a tubal ligation 12 years ago and an IUD 13 months ago, so birth control is not an issue. The IUD took my 8-day periods down to 6, but still very heavy and extremely painful. Scans do not show endometriosis, but I personally suspect it. I skip the placebo week. Here are my observations: I started on a random day during my cycle since I'm not worried about pregnancy prevention. My period was delayed for 2 days but still came, and with a vengeance. My flow lasted 8 days again and was unbearable without painkillers, as is usual. I'm now on day 20 of my cycle, with 0 days of no bleeding. Cramps are still excruciating, but flow is spotting most days, only 2 days of passing clots, and this is after I took the pill about 7 hours later than usual (I fell asleep). Cramps are not letting up, even when bleeding is mild. No noticeable difference in mood/mental state or skin (both are generally fine)."

For Birth Control "Been on this medicine for 21 days and now I’m off for 7 days, and during the 7 days, I got my period or breakthrough period. Worst period of my life, worst cramps I’ve ever had. Unbearable even with taking a pain reliever. I am having bleeding with blood clots on top of the severe cramping that almost made me cry. I have noticed I have more of an appetite, and I have also been depressed from this medicine. I have experienced a dry vagina also. I know it’s only been a month and it needs to get in my system, but I’m gonna give it another month, I’m not sure if the side effects are worth the benefits for me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Junel Fe 1/20 for exactly one month. The first two weeks were very easy, and I didn’t have a single side effect. The third week, I became extremely moody and VERY SENSITIVE to the point where everything upset me. I also had breakthrough bleeding that lasted me around 8 days. I had my period during the sugar pills, and it was significantly lighter and less painful than my periods before birth control. The pill is just now starting to clear up my skin. As for birth control effectiveness, so far so good! Don’t be afraid of the negative reviews... TRY IT!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for a month, and so far I have no major complaints. I previously tried Sprintec, and after 3 days, I realized it was causing semi-severe panic attacks. However, Junel Fe has not affected me negatively in any way (that I know of), and I'm not pregnant, so I'd say it's pretty effective. The only small nuisance I've experienced is some breakthrough bleeding since I skipped the placebo week, but that's not uncommon."

For Birth Control "I have been on Junel Fe since 2018. In the beginning, I had no symptoms. I originally took it to stop the heavy cycles and cramps, and it seemed to be doing just fine. Around August of 2020, I started to bleed during intercourse, and it hasn’t stopped since. My doctor and gynecologist both tested me for STIs and UTIs, and all of them came back negative. They then considered it may be my birth control causing me to become dry down there and causing friction, then bleeding on my partner, which is not pleasant. I never did get any symptoms until 2020, which is weird, but the doctors claim it’s normal. I am deciding to take a different pill before getting on the IUD, I heard a lot of good things about it."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control ever! Started taking it, and literally everything went downhill. It made my face break out with lots of big pimples that looked like cysts that wouldn't go away. I was in a super terrible mood 24/7, got annoyed very easily, and completely lost my sex drive. Not to mention the super bad cramps and the fact that I bled for probably 3 weeks straight during the month I was on it. Just stopped taking it because it's literally ruined my life, and my poor boyfriend has had to deal with my hideous mood and disinterest in sex for too long. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for two weeks and experienced mood swings, cramps, an infection, and spots of bleeding. I immediately asked for a change in medicine."

For Birth Control "This works as birth control because you won't ever have sex on it since you'll bleed all month long, and you'll have no sex drive."

For Birth Control "I took this for about a year, and towards the end I was bleeding every single day, despite always taking it within a minute of my scheduled time. It marginally alleviated my cramps."

For Birth Control "Let me start by saying everyone’s body reacts differently to any hormonal substance! I started Junel Fe around late 2021, as Sprintec caused me to have breakthrough bleeding after being on it for 5ish years. During the first and second month of being on this pill, I had begun feeling depressed, which sucked as I hadn’t dealt with that before. I also had breakthrough bleeding for a bit, which was super annoying. But I decided to stick it out, knowing my body was just slowly getting used to the new pill. It has now been about 4 or 5 months on Junel, and I honestly want to go cold turkey right now. I’ve had intrusive thoughts constantly, depression, anger, and no sex drive. The only pros of Junel are that my period is only 3 days long, and I only have cramps on the first day. Plus, I haven’t gotten pregnant. I’m hoping to find a better source of (non-hormonal) contraceptive soon!"
