For Birth Control "I don't have too many complaints about this birth control. I switched from Kariva to Junel Fe 1/20 because I was constantly breakthrough bleeding on Kariva, very moody. I'm now on my fourth cycle. Haven't had my period since I started, which I'm not really complaining about. Took a couple of pregnancy tests, all negative. It has improved my acne a lot. I have gained around 10 pounds and been struggling to keep it off. I've had little to no anxiety, been a lot more stable, no mood swings. However, on the period week, which is iron pills, my stomach gets really upset. I'm not sure why, however, it is manageable. Overall, I would say give it a try."

For Birth Control "This pill was suggested by my doctor to regulate heavy bleeding during my period. Month one was fine... I had a light period for a few days. However, 18 days later, I got my period again, and this time it lasted 12 days. Not to mention, I had uncontrollable anger, felt very tense, and was overall moody and negative. I also started to have very dark thoughts that were not at all normal for me. The worst part was that my anger was affecting my kids. I always felt on edge, like I was ready to explode. After period #2 was over, it came back 18 days later for another 12 days. I was also horribly bloated to the point of not fitting into my clothes properly. Given the horrible mood swings, disturbing thoughts, and relentless anger I was experiencing, I stopped taking the pill during the last week of my 3rd pack. Within 2 days, the bloating started to subside, and I started to feel like myself again. No more constant anger and moodiness. I would not recommend this pill to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I got the Skyla IUD and loved it. When that expired and it was time to get it removed, I opted for the Mirena IUD because it lasted longer. WORST MISTAKE EVER! There were too many hormones. I kept it for over a year hoping my body would adjust, but I couldn’t stand it any longer. I was depressed, anxious, insecure, sad, and my mood swings were so bad I thought I was bipolar. My boyfriend could hardly recognize the girl he met prior to the Mirena. My doctor didn’t seem to fully believe the Mirena was causing this, but I am 110% certain. I started Junel immediately after removing the IUD and have felt a huge weight of relief. I’m smiling again, I no longer want to rage at every person who annoys me, and my relationship is healthy once again. I read a lot of reviews saying they hated this pill, and maybe it’s because my body was already super accustomed to hormones, but I love it! The bleeding at first was severe, but some iron pills and rest cleared it up."

For Birth Control "I started this pill with the expectation that it would minimize my period and fibroids. I was regular, 5 days was my usual, with 3 heavy days. I am on day 21, yes, 21, bleeding, spotting, and pain. Tampon daily or pads. I would have preferred staying with the issue I had. Now I have messed up my hormones. My body is fighting with me. Again, 21 days."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I've ever taken in my life. I've been bleeding every single day since I started, and it's not getting better. I'm bleeding through super plus tampons, which I've never had to use in my life. It's so annoying dealing with this, I can't even have sex or anything. This medication should be reported. What a waste of time and money. I'd rather take my chance at getting pregnant than bleeding for a month."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 6 months now. I haven’t had any negative side effects apart from breakthrough bleeding during the first few months. Please keep in mind that everyone’s experience on this birth control will be different, so don’t let the negative reviews scare you!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for almost 4 months now, and going into the 3rd month, I started experiencing abnormal breakthrough bleeding. The bleeding would occur every other day and has not stopped for almost 2 months now. I've also experienced horrible bloating, cramping, and pelvic and lower back pain. My pill is being switched next month."

For Birth Control "10 years off of birth control. I started taking Junel 1/20 2 weeks ago and have been having breakthrough bleeding every day since. I’m getting married soon and was hoping this would stop my period from coming on my wedding weekend, but there’s been brownish-red discharge from the start. Prior to this pill, I was regulating normally and had a doctor's appointment to check everything out right before they sent me to pick up the pills. Not sure if this is normal, but it’s a huge inconvenience and added insecurity leading to my big day."

For Birth Control "Prior to my baby-making days, I had been on various brands of birth control pills for about a decade, with never having one single complaint about any of them. The entire first month of taking Junel, I literally bled every single day. But I figured it was just my body recovering from both having a baby and starting up on bc again. Well, I started my second pack a little over a week ago, and I have had intense cramping in my lower abdomen/groin, headaches, and even cramping in my legs. I called my OB office, and they told me to take Motrin. Yes, after reading all of these terrifying reviews, I'm just going to mask the warning signs my body is giving me with ibuprofen...NOT. As of tonight, I am no longer taking this pill. Thank you, everyone!"

For Birth Control "I was taking Junel 1/20 for 3 months. The first month went very well, and I had no side effects, hence, I continued taking pills. It is working well to prevent pregnancy, but in the 2nd month, I felt side effects from it. I was very moody and could easily start crying all of a sudden. I experienced some bleeding between periods, which didn't make me feel comfortable, but I knew it was a side effect, so I didn't pay much attention to it. One night during making love, we noticed bleeding again. And it kept bothering me for the next 2 days. And in the 3rd month of taking pills, my breast became very tender, and I experienced pain and a lump in the breast. I went for an ultrasound, everything seems well so far, but my gut feeling tells me to stop taking these pills because I don't like what it's doing to my body."

For Birth Control "Don’t take this birth control!! I was on Microgestin and loved it, gave me no problems whatsoever. Well, I went to refill my prescription, and they gave me this and said it’s the exact same. Definitely not the same. I’ve been having breakthrough bleeding when I just had my period 2 weeks ago, with horrible cramps along with it. I thought I had something else wrong with my body until I started reading these reviews and realizing everyone else on this medication feels the same. Just stay away from this birth control. There are much better options out there."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Junel Fe for about two months, and it has shortened my period and made my cramps easier to deal with, but I’ve experienced EXTREME nausea. There are certain days when all I can think about is how nauseous I am. I also have experienced mood swings, anxiety, inability to focus, fatigue, and almost constant bleeding all throughout the month. 6/10 sort of recommend."

For Birth Control "I have high testosterone and polycystic ovary syndrome, so I was told that birth control would help. I want kids in the future, that’s what matters to me more than anything. I went on this birth control, Junel Fe 1/20. It has been two weeks, and I have been terrible on it. I am aggravated, I hate everything around me. I am tired. I am bleeding. I am breaking out more than I already was. I don’t feel myself, I am miserable. I don’t think any woman should go on birth control. This is the most terrible experience I’ve ever had. Do NOT get this birth control if you are considering going on one."

For Birth Control "So I usually don’t write reviews, but wanted to share a piece of advice. It’s more so common sense, but birth control newbies (like myself) aren’t used to taking pills daily and can easily forget. I’ve done a lot of research on this pill before and after I’ve begun taking them (finishing week 3). Cut to the chase - I began heavier than normal spotting with dark brown blood, which I’ve come to find is breakthrough bleeding, and the reason is due to me missing my doses here and there (literally every other day)... but I did read that if you miss a dose, take two the following evening. Once I realized breakthrough bleeding is more common when you miss doses, I set a reminder to take, and after taking 3 days in a row, it stopped completely! I haven’t experienced any of the other symptoms as discussed, fortunately, and like many have said, see how it works for your body and give it at least a month to regulate. So far, so good!"

For Birth Control "This is the worst BC ever! I am always, always regular. Went on this after my second daughter was born. After taking it a week, I started spotting, which turned into full bleeding with clots, and wasn't due for my period for another 2 weeks. Felt dizzy, headaches, and nauseous. Went off mid-pack. Been on Alesse and Yaz in the past and never had a problem. I know BC is different for everyone, but I do not recommend Junel Fe."

For Birth Control "I started using Junel Fe 1/20 for birth control after my insurance switched me from Microgestin Fe 1/20. It’s been almost a year, and I’ve got to say Junel has made my period unpredictable and inconsistent. When I first began, I bled right away, probably breakthrough bleeding. Then I got my period on time once, super light. Then a few times I would start bleeding in the middle of the month. Then once I only bled for a day or less. Most of the time it’s super duper light, like just discharge. Once or twice it was a regular flow. It never starts on the same day of the week either. This month, my period is really late or it hasn’t come yet. For a young woman like me, this is scary! I’d consider switching to something more reliable."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 2 months, and I couldn’t regret it more. I’ve bled for over half of the month since I started, sometimes with no break between the spotting and my actual period. My anxiety has gotten significantly worse. I’ve experienced migraines, which is something completely new to me. Rather than cramping for a few days like I normally would, I would cramp for weeks when I was spotting and on my actual period. This pill was a very bad option for me. My sister had a similar experience with this birth control, but my doctor decided to put me on it despite that, and it was a huge mistake."

For Birth Control "This pill is not worth it, EVER! I have PCOS and was given the pill to help it. I naturally am an anxious person, but the 6 months or so I have been on this spiked the anxiety! I was more emotional a day or two before my period than I ever was before I was on the pill! Then, there is the nausea right after taking it, which has led me to physically get sick from how it messes up my stomach. No appetite. Then, there are the horrible cramps and clot-filled blood, which was made WORSE by taking this pill. Nope! Never again! I was on Microgestin for years with minimal side effects. This pill has been 6 months of awfulness that literally only makes you feel worse the longer you take it. I cannot wait to finish the next 2 weeks of this pack. I'd rather get ovarian cysts than take these. Heading to my OB-GYN to switch back, ASAP! Ladies, if you find yourself anxious, stomach sick, PMSing, fatigued, crampy, and heavy bleeding while on this pill, you are not alone. Beware."

For Birth Control "This birth control worked really well for the first few months. I had very light periods, no cramps, no acne, no weight gain, and I didn't get pregnant. This birth control was a miracle for me because I used to have horrible period cramps, and it made them go away completely. But then, about 6 months after taking it, my periods started getting weird. I started getting my period on the active pills instead of the placebo pills. Then, I started getting two periods a month. I would bleed a little bit while having sex. It was so strange. I told my doctor, and now I'm switching to another pill. This one was good while it lasted."

For Birth Control "I started this pill about 8 months ago. I would not recommend this to anyone with anxiety or depression. I felt absolutely lifeless every day for months, my head was in a fog, and I could not concentrate in class because I was completely exhausted. I believe this pill also triggers my anxiety immensely, I have constant anxiety that I never had previously. It made me incredibly irritable about everything and anything, my family has noticed it having a drastic change in my mood. I also experienced headaches, irregular bleeding, breast lumpiness, breast pain."

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for 6 weeks after having a tubal pregnancy and a fallopian tube removed. For 3 weeks, I've been having severe panic attacks. I get agitated, can't focus, and have racing thoughts. I didn't consider that the BC could be to blame until last night when I realized that's the only thing that's changed. I did research on this drug, and I'm relieved to discover that other women feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather NONE of us feel this way EVER, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. Holy balls. I stopped taking this immediately. Besides the AWFUL anxiety, I've also experienced nearly non-stop bleeding, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. It could take a while for my body to 'accept' these things and level out, but I'm not willing to feel this way any longer. This BC is HORRIBLE, at least for me. I'm going to just switch to condoms. I don't want to chance trying another drug that can mess with my hormones, my emotions, my physical well-being, and my life."

For Birth Control "I just started taking Junel. By my second week, I noticed that I was getting a lot more discharge than usual, and also it began to have an odor. Regularly, I get light discharge that’s odorless, like normal, so I knew it was the pill. Now, I am experiencing bleeding and pain after sex to a point where I can’t even move. I’ve never experienced that before with any birth control, it definitely does not sound normal at all. I do not recommend this to anybody! I have been taking it for about 2 weeks and already have had the worst experience. There are so many other good birth controls that you can get."

For Birth Control "I wouldn’t recommend this. I’ve been on it for 4 months, almost 5, and I have never had more anxiety about becoming pregnant. I’ve had almost every side effect in the book. I had headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, cramps, acne, vaginal dryness and itchiness, and breakthrough bleeding. Most of these side effects were not super bad and actually did clear up in the 3 months like they are supposed to, except the acne and breakthrough bleeding. I still break out and get really bad pimples. I also have had breakthrough bleeding every month, and the bleeding had gotten better, but now I am having bad cramps with it. It’s miserable. It’s like I have my period for 2 weeks. The period on the placebo week is actually very light and very light cramps, which is a plus! I’ve not had a super good experience with this pill and am going to switch soon."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Junel Fe 1/20 for almost a year. I’ve gained weight, am bloated, have zero sex drive, had an itchy, dry vagina, panic attacks, anxiety, boobs ache all the time, breakthrough bleeding, and a general constant tiredness. After reading through other reviews, I feel less crazy. The only good thing about Junel is it’s free on my insurance plan. I called my OB-GYN today to get back on Ministrin 24 Fe - which I loved and am now going to pay out of pocket for because... I lost weight on it. Had zero breakthrough bleeding, loved that it is a mint-flavored chewable too. Oh, and I felt normal on it. DON’T take Junel, it’s garbage!"
