For Birth Control "I don’t have any side effects, and I've been using Xulane for 4 months now. I didn’t even have side effects when I first started using it. I’ve been on pills before, and this is 10 times better than pills. Personally, it doesn’t affect how wet I am “down there,” and it doesn’t affect me getting sexually aroused. Sometimes I do get migraines, but I got migraines around my period time before I started this birth control, so I don’t think it’s the patch. Love it!"

For Birth Control "Ok, so I have used the Xulane patch for 5 years. I have had some issues over the years, such as having the patch rolling up or getting stuck to my clothing. I usually fixed it or replaced it when this happens. I have also had a small rash from one batch that I believe was just a bad batch. I have had some acne, tender breasts, and mood swings. Overall, it worked great though, doing its job of keeping me from having more kids. That is until recently. I am so upset this month when I removed my patch and no period came. I waited, and nothing. It's come time to start the new patch, but before I refilled, I took a test. I am pregnant and used the damn thing exactly as recommended. I am so upset right now, I don't know what to do."

For Birth Control "I have been using Xulane for the past three years. Within the last 3 months, I have been itching under the patch like crazy. I get these painful bumps underneath them, and it keeps a fever while the patch is on it. I figured maybe it was a bad batch and would go away. Then the patches started falling off way too easily. I got a hold of my pharmacist, who treated me like I didn't know what I was doing, and said that only the manufacturer can help me. Xulane, I absolutely loved your patch until now. But I have to change to another product because whatever you did to the adhesive is tearing up my skin and is so itchy it makes me feel crazy."

For Birth Control "I’ve gone on the Xulane patch 2 separate times. I have horrible periods, and I’m also diagnosed with PMDD, so it is important that I stay on birth control. I’ve tried the Depo shot, I bled for 9 months straight and was constantly depressed. I tried a box or two of the patches and had no side effects or irregular bleeding. I was then on the extended-cycle pill, so I had no periods for 3 months at a time, and I loved it! Until one day, I started bleeding and didn’t stop for two months. So I got back on the patch, and I’ve been on it for about 2 months now. I’ve never had irregular bleeding or severe PMDD symptoms on the patch. The only con I’ve experienced is acne breakouts-under wherever the patch was placed, and also on my face and on my body. It isn’t bad, though. My periods are much easier, despite getting headaches. Overall, my favorite form of birth control. No birth control is fun, but the patch makes it easy."

For Birth Control "What can I say, but since being on the Xulane patch, which has been about 3 months, has been the worst. I finally decided, after trying this patch before for about a week, that I didn’t give it a chance. I’ve been nauseous constantly, nothing helps. And of course, the doctor says it may get better, but they're not the ones going through it. So I’ve decided I’m over it and will not be wearing it anymore."

For Birth Control "I LOVE the Xulane patch! I wish I could keep taking it, but a combination of family history and slightly elevated blood pressure has led to my doctor insisting that I switch. In the two years that I took Xulane, my period was the most regular it had ever been since I first hit puberty. I only had ONE irregular period (and it was because of a yeast infection, unrelated to my birth control). No pregnancy scares. No really noticeable symptoms after the first month - (which I did have some spotting and severe mood swings during, but that passed after the first patch cycle). $0 prescription with insurance. This birth control was so perfect. I recommend Xulane to EVERYONE!"

For Birth Control "Love the Xulane patch! Pills make me have crazy mood swings and Depo and me gain weight! The patch has been amazing, the only side effect I have had is extreme fatigue, but it has been manageable enough I can deal with it!"

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old, and I've definitely gained weight, and my breasts have gotten bigger since I started this medication, but I'm not too worried about those things. The only problem with it is having an extremely long and heavy period. At first, I was using Ortho Evra, but had to switch to Xulane because of insurance. Other than the heavy periods, everything is fine. They are regular, and even if my boyfriend and I don't use condoms, we've never even had a scare. It works perfectly."

For Birth Control "I started the patch a month after having my daughter. I've been on it for about a year with no problems, really. Occasionally, it starts to peel off or irritates the skin, but nothing crazy. I recommend it because it can be hard to remind yourself every day to take a pill. The patch is just a once-a-week reminder. The past month, I've had issues with spotting and cramping, like on my period, which I've never experienced before while using Xulane. There can be some really scary reviews on here, but everyone is different! I would definitely recommend trying this type of BC to see what works for you."

For Birth Control "I really didn't pay too much attention to the side effect, so I don't know if my mood swings or acne are caused by the patch. I am 32, and I don't normally get acne, but I do notice the increase of acne on my face. Meanwhile, I don't get enough sleep too, so I wasn't sure if I should blame the patch. However, I am concerned about my period. My period is so light it looks like spotting. I have been using the patch for three months, and each month my period is lighter than the previous one. I want my normal period back. Anyone else has a light period? I really hate pills and want to keep the patch if I can get my period back to normal."

For Birth Control "I got the patch about 3 months ago, and I've been on it since then. I don't take the week off, so I do wear it for 4 weeks instead of 3. At first, I did get super nauseous, but it went away. Mood swings a little, but not crazy like how I was when I was on the pill. I've been spotting and bleeding on and off for the second month of using it. I do not know why, but I would like to know from any girl why I have been."

For Birth Control "I have PCOS. I never wanted or was recommended to take oral BC because of a fatty liver issue. I wish the patch was invisible, but I guess you can’t have it all. The patch gave me a shocking sex drive at first, and then it leveled out. Overall, I feel so much more like myself, and the relief of having regular periods every month is priceless."

For Birth Control "I love the patch! I have used it for 6 years and no problems. I use it 3 weeks on with 1 week off. I never had any side effects like being itchy or red marks. The only issue I've had is when I go to the beach, the salt water wears off the stickiness, but I always bring an extra one due to knowing that happens. I've never had a problem getting pregnant from using it. I think it's great, I've never gotten pregnant while on the patch, but once I took it off, it took me about two months to get pregnant. I love it and will continue using it."

For Birth Control "I was on this patch in my twenties and went on it again after my second child was born. I have been back on it for 2 months. I suffer from migraines in general, but being on this makes them last so much longer, especially around the time I’m due for my period. I also have anxiety, and this is also so much worse. I have also put on 5 pounds. I am feeling extremely depressed, and I’m probably taking the patch off and switching."

For Birth Control "Some reviews said that it comes off in the water, but I have not had this happen. You have to make sure there is no lotion or soap residue on the area before you put it on. Also, I always wipe the area clean with rubbing alcohol before I apply to ensure a tight hold. And if I place it in my pelvic area, I shave first, wipe with alcohol, and press firmly. I go swimming all the time for hours at a time, and it has never fallen off. I've had no side effects, especially with my sex drive or vaginal lubrication. No headaches or nausea for me. I feel absolutely normal, even with having hypothyroidism, which impacts different hormones, I don't feel any side effects. I always recommend this to my friends. It's much easier than remembering to take a pill and safer for me than an IUD. I say everyone should try it for themselves rather than be scared off by other people's bad experiences."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control. For me, Xulane cleared up my skin, and I have no weight gain or other side effects. In the past, I've been on the pill and have had an IUD, and I like the patch much more. The only downfall I've observed is that if I do a lot of physical activity right after I put it on, I get nauseous. Otherwise, I think it's great."

For Birth Control "Have been taking Xulane for about 8 months, it's been great. Spotting during the first two months, tired with some increase in appetite until my body adjusted. I do notice mild headaches during days (1-2 times per week). Of course, breasts are swollen, which isn't a terrible side effect. I've had no nausea, no weight gain, and my mood seems more balanced. I have a history of depression and have not had any issues outside of baseline while using Xulane. I have fewer PMS symptoms - less depressed, less irritable, don't want to run people over then cry because I'm a horrible person for thinking that :/ It's been very effective."

For Birth Control "I have been using Xulane for around 10 months. For the first seven months, the birth control worked great! I noticed that I was much easier to get along with, periods were on a schedule, and my breasts appeared bigger! I didn't experience the weight gain or hardly any negative side effects. The most annoying thing was that the patch would sometimes fall off. Fast forward to three months, I am bloated all the time and experienced a weight gain of about 15 pounds. I literally cannot stop crying and tend to bust out in tears at even a sad thought. The worst part is the mood swings. I finally decided enough was enough and threw them away. I will be requesting the birth control pill next time I am at the doctor."

For Birth Control "I did a review on Xulane 8 months ago. I was taking the Ortho Evra patch and had to switch to Xulane due to it being discontinued. When I did my review, I was on the patch for 1 month. The patch is still very convenient. Increase in sex drive, no vaginal dryness, and light periods - no cramping. I am starting to get headaches for the past month. Seeing it's a side effect of this medication (never got them before), hoping they go away. Other than that, no complaints."

For Birth Control "This patch drove me crazy during the almost 2 months I was on it. Initially, I had to change it every couple of days due to minor discomfort like itching or sliding. However, right from the start, I began experiencing pregnancy-like symptoms such as tender nipples, nausea, and bloating. I'm not exactly sure when it began, but I used it for a whole month, had my period, which allowed me to take it off for a week, and then continued using it for another week or two before realizing the impact it was having on me. It caused me to vomit unexpectedly. It was strange because I would randomly feel nauseous and throw up whatever I had eaten or drunk, or sometimes just foam or bile due to an empty stomach. The migraines were absolutely unbearable! I could hardly tolerate light in my eyes or loud sounds without my ears ringing and my head throbbing. I also experienced severe mood swings, loss of appetite, sadness, and a feeling of being disconnected from myself. Finally, one day I removed it before taking a shower and forgot to put it back on. Surprisingly, I immediately felt different the next day. I would never use this patch again. I feel like a completely new person now."

For Birth Control "I was on OrthoEvra birth control patch for eleven years before a generic was available. Now that Mylan Xulane is the only birth control patch available for the past two years, I have been forced to use this. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I never had any problems in eleven years with the OrthoEvra brand. The patch never itched, came off, or caused cramping. Absolutely no side effects. When I was forced to switch to Mylan Xulane birth control patch, I immediately started itching around the patch site (no matter where I put it), and it always resulted in a rash. A quick shower could make this patch fall off. It is absolutely devastating. I am now also bleeding between periods. I'm currently searching for alternative birth control."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Xulane for about two years. During that time, I’ve had almost constant nausea, extreme fatigue, weight gain, and strange chest and abdominal pain. I actually went to the doctor thinking there was something wrong with my heart, as it runs in my family. Though I am only 23. My sex drive disappeared completely, and I found my anxiety to be worse than normal. I spent every ‘new patch’ day vomiting and would sleep by the toilet. This is even AFTER two years. The symptoms have never gone away. My breasts are always swollen and tender. I’ve gone up to an uncomfortable 32G from a 32DD. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone. My body is very sensitive to medicine, but this was just too much. I’m finally saying enough and trying something new."

For Birth Control "The only negative thing I can say about the patch is that my period for the first two months lasted a little longer than usual, but other than that, I've had normal periods. I've noticed that I'm a lot curvier now, and my boobs seem to be a little perkier. I love this patch! I prefer it over the NuvaRing or the pill."

For Birth Control "I was on Depo (the shot) years ago and finally tried this as I was looking for something to control my heavy flow and cramping. The first side effect I noticed immediately was that I was sensitive to the adhesive and became so itchy when the patch was on. It would partially peel a lot. The first 3 days with it on, I had terrible migraines, which continued until I decided to get off of it 3 months later. It is the highest form of synthetic estrogen birth control, so always keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to use it. My doctor told me I could feel free to skip a period or two, so I did. And then my body basically decided to have a period anyway with my usual heavy flow and painful cramping. Even when it wasn’t my 'period week,' I would still have mild to painful cramping just about every day. Didn’t gain any weight, but I was only on it for 3 months. Loss of sex drive for the last 2 months I was on it. In my personal opinion, this was just as bad as the shot."
