For Birth Control "I started using Seasonique as both a treatment for my PCOS as well as a birth control option. Before using Seasonique, I lived with an almost constant period that would last for months at a time. It was a saving grace when I started using Seasonique, and it instantly 'turned off the tap'! For two months, I am period-free, then about midway through the third month, I start spotting until I start my new pack. This is a huge improvement to what I'm used to (used to be heavy flow and all the time), and it's given me a newfound sense of freedom. I did NOT experience any hair loss and actually lost weight. It also helped immensely with my cystic acne. Altogether, it's been a fantastic experience!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on the pill for a little over a month, and I'm stopping. I'm extremely anemic, and I asked my doc for this to help with my periods. They were getting increasingly heavy and painful and making my anemia worse. I started taking the generic of this pill, and in 1 month, gained 10 pounds. Then I started spotting and got a full-blown period month 1. This period is heavier than normal and has zapped me of all my energy. It has lasted 7 days of constant normal to heavy bleeding that doesn't seem like it's going to stop. The blood is still fresh bright red, so it doesn't look like it's stopping soon. Also, this week of bleeding has made me extremely emotional. I almost quit my job! I feel very angry, irritated, annoyed, and depressed."

"As someone who just started on this pill, it's difficult to know from these reviews whether I'll be one of the women who will get a bad experience from it. I think it helps if one can learn of experiences from women with a similar background. It would be nice if reviewers would please list their age, ethnicity, history of hormonal illnesses (e.g., thyroid problems, PMDD, etc.), if you've already had children before taking this pill, how long you've been taking the pill, and when the symptoms started to appear? Also, experiences with other pills, as is often mentioned in past reviews, are much appreciated. Thanks!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for 9, almost 10 years. I take my pill every day at the same time, even if I have to take it in the middle of an outing. Forgetting to take the pill isn't an option for me. I've never had any major side effects, and on the rare occasion I have a little breakthrough bleeding, I take the pill with 1000mg of vitamin C (if you do the research, it increases the impact of the estrogen in the pill, therefore slowing and then effectively stopping the breakthrough bleeding). It usually takes 2 days, and it's over. Sometimes I take 2 packs continuously and don't have a period for 6 months, my OBGYN is fine with this. I say give it a try, take it at the same time every day!!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for almost a year now and have had no problems until just recently. The past couple of months, I have been extremely bloated (to the point where I thought I was pregnant and took a pregnancy test) and have been very exhausted. I stay tired all day, and no matter how much sleep I get, I just want to lay in bed. I have also been bleeding very heavily for over 5 weeks now, and I am nowhere close to the time I'm supposed to bleed. The cramps and bleeding have been heavier/worse than I've ever had."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "After reading all the horrible comments on sites about this medication, I thought I would add my positive ones. I have been on it a little over 4 months now. As of the 4th month, I stopped all bleeding. Very few side effects at first, maybe being tired (I was anemic too), a little nausea and cramps right at first, but getting past all that, the bleeding finally stopped. This is a wonderful medication. Don't let the negative comments impact you. Each of us reacts differently. I have fibroids, and the bleeding was very bad. They didn't know if this would help or not, worth the shot. Glad it is so far. Just don't give up at first, even if you want to. Give it at least until the 4th month for your body to adjust."

For Birth Control "This is a follow-up to my Oct 2019 review. Quitting today to save my marriage! Kidding. Sort of. I’ve basically been bleeding 3 months out of the 5 that I’ve been taking this pill. Totally defeated the purpose. Had no other side effects, but the bleeding just won’t stop."

For Birth Control "I really like Seasonique. I have been taking it for 7 years now. I have never had the spotting that other people have talked about. I have short periods every three months and don't have to worry about it in between. My only problem is that my weight fluctuates during the three months, and I have put on a lot of weight since being on this medication."

"LOVE this pill. I'm in the last week of active pills for the 3-month pack, and I have yet to experience any negative side effects. No breakthrough bleeding, no sudden flares in acne, my weight has not fluctuated, and my sex drive is still kickin! Definitely recommend this pill to anyone considering Seasonique."

"I've been on Seasonique for a little over 6 weeks. I was previously on Depo-Provera on and off for the last 8 years (used NuvaRing on the breaks from Depo), and I was on Depo for the last year non-stop. Seasonique is a lifesaver. On Depo, I had crazy mood swings, uncontrollable crying fits, and severe depression. Within 2 weeks of starting Seasonique, I was a normal person! I didn't realize that Depo had created those side effects. I just thought I was crazy, but Seasonique changed everything for me. My acne even subsided dramatically, and I'm finally losing ALL of the weight I gained on Depo. I really believe Seasonique saved me. I have recommended it to every female I know."

For Endometriosis "I have a condition called endometrial hyperplasia. Basically, my uterus is thick, my uterine cells produce quickly and cause pain that feeds into my muscle cells during menstruation. I have had two children and constant pain during my cycles. My OB suggested Seasonique to get rid of my cycle and end my pain. After a while, my abdominal pain is totally gone. I also have a much more stable mood. Once you get through one full cycle, the spotting decreases and things level out. I suggest not stopping until you have tried it for at least 3-6 months."

For Birth Control "Effective form of birth control, yet caused excessive abnormal bleeding during the three-month cycle in which I should not have gotten my period. Eventually removed from medication due to abnormal uterine bleeding while taking this product."

For Endometriosis "I have struggled with endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome, so being put on the pill wasn't much of an option for me. I needed something to control the unbearable pain, for it was really limiting my life. Since I began Seasonique over a month ago, I have had painful stomach aches that seem to be worst for the first few hours after I wake up. My emotions have been off the wall, everything is making me cry. I am easily agitated and haven't felt like myself. I don't feel depressed, just irritated and emotional most days. I think the worst side effect has been the explosive diarrhea that sneaks up on me-embarrassing. This has never happened to me before, and now it's at least once a day that an urgent run to the bathroom is needed."

For Birth Control "BEST THING EVER! If you are going on birth control, you might as well do extended cycle! You basically never get your period (so bye-bye cramps, bleeding, buying tampons, ruining underwear). Perhaps the best part is that there is no placebo pill! The week off still has estrogen, so you can say goodbye to mood swing side effects caused by the placebo that is a sugar pill. On this extended cycle, you don't get the same crazy side effects as you would when 1 week every month you don't take the hormone. It is a little expensive upfront because it is 3 months' worth of meds. So if you do the math, it should be 3 times as expensive as one script that you pick up 3 times in 3 months. But you basically never need tampons, so put it toward this!"

For Birth Control "My mood swings have never been so bad. I used to only get bad PMS about a week before my period. Now it’s all the time. Also, between the last couple of periods, I’ve been getting blood clots and constant dried blood, so I was pretty much on my period for 3 months. This is the worst birth control I’ve ever been on."

For Birth Control "Most of these reviews are terrifying, so I wanted to share my experience... 1) One of the biggest differences with tricyclic BC (3 months) from the once-a-month kind is the likelihood of spotting is much greater. On the first pack, I spotted months 2-3. (Yep.. 2 months pretty much). That being said, it was so light I could've probably used the same panty liner all day and been fine. Also, my BF isn't a child and wasn't bothered by it. I found it mostly annoying. The second pack, I'm still spotting, but only for 1 month, also very light. I suspect it will not happen on the next pack. Minor nausea was my only other side effect. No libido change, no weight gain, mood change, etc. Not perfect, but I love it. It's going to be different for each person."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I loved the thought of not having a period every month, as advertised. It worked great for 6 and 1/2 years. Light spotting when I started back then, and lighter periods and not buying so many tampons was very nice! I got off the pill for 6 months (for financial reasons). Decided to go back on it, and now I'm in month two and on my 11th day bleeding. Started as spotting, then got heavier each day after, and minor clotting. I saw dark brown blood on day 9 of bleeding, thought it was ending finally, then the next day...BAM, back to bright red bleeding again, and horrible cramping to go with it! I'm a mess emotionally. It's like PMS, but not going away once the period starts. I think it's turned on me. Time for a switch! I can't afford all these pads."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking these pills January 12, 2017, because I didn't want to deal with having a period anymore... the worst mistake, do not take! My hormones are jacked up. I'm very moody, my appetite is crazy, I have gained 10 pounds, and also I have been bleeding for 3 weeks straight. My doctor told me to continue to take it, but I will not take this medication - he even tried to change the dosage and give me some menopause meds. I said I'm not taking any of those meds, it had me so messed up bad. I'm bleeding so much from my uterus. They are recommending that I have NovaSure surgery done. I will keep you posted, but beware, this birth control is not good at all, these reviews are the truth."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started this pill to only have 4 periods a year. I don't need the birth control because my husband is 'fixed.' I was like clockwork every 28 days, but my period would last 7 horrible days. I had major bleeding, clotting, and cramps. So, I thought this would help with both the flow and amount of time. I started the pill 8 weeks ago, since then, I have been bleeding (enough to wear a pad) for 4.5 of those weeks. My breasts are super sore and have grown a cup size. I have had cramping for most of the time. I'm going to stop because it's causing the very thing I'm trying to eliminate."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill for about a month, and on my second week, I am bloated, never hungry, have mood swings, and don't want to get out of bed in the mornings. Also, I started light bleeding, like when you are coming off your period."

For Birth Control "I would absolutely recommend Seasonique! I have been on this pill for close to 5 years, if not longer, and I have had no bad experiences other than a little weight gain (about 10 lbs), but that is to be expected. I take my pill at the same time every day and have never had any spotting at all. My periods are less than 5 days and sometimes last only 2-3 days, and I have little to no cramps!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Seasonique for almost 10 years. I've tried the shot and Nexplanon, and I hands down prefer Seasonique. I don't think I could ever go back to having a monthly cycle. I haven't noticed any major side effects. I do suffer from migraines; however, I had migraines even when I wasn't taking Seasonique, so I don't think the two are connected."

For Birth Control "I am almost through my first pack of Seasonique, and I love it. My doctor instructed me to take the pills for 6 weeks, and then let myself have a period and then take the next six weeks and have a period. She told me to do this in order to reduce any spotting. I think that method may work because I haven't had any spotting at all. I have had an amazing experience with it. I also make sure to take it around the same time every day and not to miss a pill. That also helps reduce spotting."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I wanted to try Seasonique for the 4 periods a year. On my 1st month, I started bleeding on the 3rd week and still bleeding 3 weeks later. The bleeding is really annoying and doesn't seem to be letting up. It's a thicker consistency and small clots. I will give this a little more time, but so far, I'm not happy at all! After reading other comments, it seems more bleeding is expected than what's advertised! :("

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I wish I would have read these comments prior to my starting this pill. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!! I have been bleeding and passing EXTREMELY LARGE blood clots for 13 days. It started 2 days into my second pack. The pain is severe, almost mirroring labor pains, with abdominal contractions every time I pass a clot. I stopped the pill, and the bleeding continues to get worse. Avoid this pill like the plague!!"
