For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for almost 2 years, and I love it. I had some light spotting the first month or two, but I have had no problem since. My periods are much shorter, and I have less severe cramping. Before I started taking it, I would get extremely sick on my periods and have heavy bleeding, and that's why I started the pill. It helps so much, and I am very happy with it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Update time!! After 4 months of bleeding daily, my period finally regulated and stopped! I’m on my 2nd pack and halfway through and have only had occasional cramps and spotting, but not until recently. I started the pill in September and bled until late December. All of January was finally great, and only now into February am I having light spotting and cramps, but definitely not the bleeding and not the pad wearing that I had for 4 months, a bleeding nightmare. If you hang in there, it eventually does regulate and stop the period!! :)"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for 2 weeks now, and the only side effects I've experienced are very mild nausea, very light spotting, and mild cramps. This birth control is definitely appealing to me because I hate having my period."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I got my tubes tied and couldn't deal with the frequent, long, and heavy periods that ensued, so I went on Seasonique to achieve lighter, less frequent periods. I've had some spotting here and there (particularly after intercourse), but my main issue with this pill is that it gives me constant heart palpitations. I went through a series of tests with a cardiologist, and everything was fine, except they did confirm pretty constant 'skipped' beats. It's more annoying than anything. Monthly pills give me migraines, and no pill at all is what got me here in the first place. I am at my wit's end."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I have been on Seasonique for 4 weeks now and started bleeding 3 days ago. Not spotting, but full-blown bleeding non-stop. I called my OB and the nurse told me to basically deal with it until my body gets used to the drug. She said it could take months, that I could potentially be bleeding non-stop for the next three months or more, she had no idea when it would stop. I was not aware of this when I agreed to this pill, and it is not listed as a side effect. Breakthrough bleeding or spotting is NOT having basically your period for months! For me, it doesn't matter if after 3 months it works like a charm, if you randomly get your period for long lengths of time - it defeats the lure of this product."

For Birth Control "Started Seasonique about a year and a half ago. Had some spotting for the first six months, and then it tapered off. The first period I had on it was excruciatingly painful. Felt like I was constantly getting stabbed. The first time I felt those cramps, I dropped to the floor for a bit. I decided to weather it out and continued taking the pill. Worked great for about a year, but then started getting random spotting that lasted for 3 weeks. Have switched to another BCP now. As far as I know, it worked pretty well at preventing pregnancy. I took it around the same time every day. I never really missed any days, so I can't relay any experiences about that."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on BC since I was 17. I first had NuvaRing for 4 years, and then I heard about Seasonique and was excited about having only 4 periods a year. The first month (January 2015) was perfect-no spotting, no weight gain, no period. Halfway into February, I started spotting and thought, okay, this may be normal. After two days, the spotting stopped... it returned four days later, and I continued to spot up until the end of March when it was time for my period! I started a new pack, and everything went smoothly-no spotting until the week before my scheduled period. I started a new pack in July, and everything was okay. I started spotting really heavy on July 31st, and my period isn't supposed to come until the end of September... should have stayed on NuvaRing."

For Birth Control "Switching to Seasonique was the best thing I ever did for my body. I responded much better to the same hormone level for three months, opposed to the weekly changes I made when I was on Ortho-Tri. I have more energy, and my skin is even better than it was on the Ortho-Tri. I have had very little spotting, barely noticeable. I recommend this to anyone, especially if you are not happy with your current pill."

"I tried this pill after my first son. I did have the occasional spotting, mostly because I didn't start my first pill on Sunday after my first period, and I took it for 2 years, no problems. Right after coming off of it, I got pregnant with no problem. Now, 4 weeks after my second son, I'm going to go back on this pill. Great choice of birth control for me. Very effective, even after missing a pill or 2."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Seasonique for almost 3 months now, and for the most part, I am very satisfied with it. The only downfall I've found so far is weight gain, around 5-10 pounds, which doesn't seem like much, but to a smaller person, it makes a huge difference in clothes fitting. Normally, I could get this weight off pretty easily, but so far that's not the case. I haven't made it to the end of the first pack yet, so I'm hoping this first cycle I have isn't as bad as what some of these comments say. I'm on week 7, and in the last week, I noticed a tiny bit of spotting, not enough to use a tampon or even a liner. So far, so good, best I can tell. This is still way better than having a period every 28 days."

For Birth Control "I started taking Seasonique about 10 months ago. It's worked quite well. My acne isn't as bad as it used to be. I am a little bit more moody, but I can cope with that. I do have some spotting in the middle of the three months, but it's only like a weekish at the most. Overall, I think it's better than having 12 periods a year."

For Birth Control "I am 17 years old and have been on Seasonique for almost 6 months. I'm just finishing my second pack, and I haven't had any crazy problems. I had migraines during the first pack and some spotting and slightly off discharge. But this second time around has been alright, other than the slight pressure cramping often happening. And I just had my first migraine today. I can't comment on sexual experiences because I haven't been there yet, but as far as everyday things, it works great. Hope this helps!"

"I just finished my first cycle of Seasonique, and I could not be happier. I was on NuvaRing for about 7 years when suddenly my periods went crazy - horrible cramps, heavy, long-lasting. My doctor suggested Seasonique or an IUD. She sent me home with a package of Seasonique, and I could not be happier. I just finished my first period, and I have to think that I've been missing out until now! It was the lightest period I've ever had - lasted for 3 days and was barely there. I got 0 cramps, which for me is unheard of. I did have one instance of spotting, but it only happened one day. I also did have an acne breakout right before my period started, but hey - I'll take that over cramps ANY day! Sex drive and weight are the same. Highly recommended!"

For Birth Control "I'm 15 and have been using this birth control for about 3 months now. I find it amazing! There is some spotting, but it's okay. As for weight gain, I gained 5 pounds, and on a girl who's 5'1, it looks like a lot. I never had acne ever, and when I started the pill, I had oily skin and acne. There are side effects, but this pill is amazing, and I recommend it to everyone."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Seasonique for over three years now. As much as I can say how great it is to only have my period four times a year, there's a lot that I do not like about it. I tend to have spotting for two to three weeks at a time during the active pills, even when I take them at exactly the same time every day. My period starts off great but then gets really heavy towards the end. Sex drive is non-existent for a few weeks at a time. And now I'm paying three times as much as I did because I lost prescription coverage when I changed plans. I'm calling my OB tomorrow and asking her to give me a script for something cheaper and a little more dependable."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Seasonique for about 4 weeks and have been experiencing some bleeding for about 7 days now, with some cramping. My spotting went away for a day but came right back. I will stick it out for a few more days, but if it persists for over another week, I'm going to stop taking them. I got on the pill to not have a period."

"I seldom write reviews for anything, but I have found the reviews that I read on this site very helpful. My doctor presented me with a few birth control options after having my second child. I liked the idea of only having 4 periods a year. I've been taking Seasonique now for almost 8 months, and I absolutely hate it. Since taking it, I have gained 10-15 lbs (with no change to my diet or exercise - if anything, I'm eating less and more on the go). My periods are now heavier than ever before, more irregular (anywhere from every 4-7 weeks), and longer than any I've ever had (usually around 3 weeks). If I take my pill 2 hours late, I will start spotting the next day. I also get these weird rashes on my neck (that started 8 months ago)."

For Birth Control "I like taking this pill because now I don’t have periods every month. I also am not moody all the time anymore! I do have some side effects like tenderness, headaches, and spotting also! But other than that, I get to be more happy instead of miserable like I used to be. My first packet of pills didn’t work the first time! I had to talk to my doctor about it because I bled a lot more than I should have. Also, my doctor had to give me a stronger dose of them! I started taking Seasonique, so far, it has been a great experience other than side effects. When I do have my period, I am still moody, I also feel a lot of pain! I know that at least I don’t have to have it every month anymore. I am so thankful my doctor helped me out!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Seasonique was the second pill I tried after having breakthrough bleeding issues with the first. I take it for protection and because my regular periods are horrible. I’m about to finish my first pack and so far it’s not been good. I first had breakthrough bleeding around the time I would’ve normally gotten my period if I weren’t on the pill. The bleeding was pretty close to what my period would be like and it stopped after 5-7 days. This happened again after a month, right when I’d get my period again. It started out as spotting that I only really needed a panty liner for (and I was warned about spotting by my doctor). After a few days I needed a pad. It’s been that way ever since. I’ve been bleeding nonstop for a month and one week now. I’m currently taking antibiotics to try to stop the bleeding, as recommended by my doctor. It’s honestly torture. The cramps never go away, I’ve gone through so many menstrual products, and it’s just overall really stressful."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Mirvala consistently for 3 months on, 1 week off to help treat my endometriosis symptoms. That worked for about 2.5 years, when everything started going downhill (breakouts, painful breakthrough bleeding, continuous spotting, painful sex, low libido). My GP had me switch to Indayo (Seasonique). I thought, what the heck, give it a go. 2 years in, and I still get a full breakthrough period halfway through the pills, random cramps all the time, nonexistent libido, the works. I finally went back to my gyno for my second surgery for endo, and he said that's insane that my GP has kept me on Seasonique with these side effects for so long (my GP just kept saying, 'yeah, that will happen for a while until your body gets used to it.'). I'm now being switched to Lolo - let's see how that goes. Not that I wouldn't recommend it, but listen to your body if the side effects are too much to manage. It would have been awesome if it worked as intended, but it didn't for me."

For Birth Control "Seasonique is the absolute worst birth control ever. I have been spotting for two weeks. I chose this birth control to control the heaviness of my periods, however, I cannot say that it has made my periods any better. I would rather just have my period for 5-6 days and have cramping rather than go through with spotting for two weeks with cramps. I'm definitely going to my doctor to change my birth control."

For Birth Control "I'm an active 21-year-old who was looking for four periods a year. While I was warned about breakthrough bleeding and spotting between periods, I was not warned that it was possible to have nonstop periods. I'm on my first pack about to finish my last week, and my period began after the first month of Seasonique. Plus, I broke out more than I ever have on any other type of birth control (Nuvaring, Ortho Tri-Cyclen). My doctor informed me she doesn't put young women on this pill. I wish my doctor at school was the same way."
