For Birth Control "Not a perfect BC for me. Instead of having no period for 3 months, I'm bleeding for the last month and a half. Not heavily, but need a pad. No weight gain or anything like that, though. I prefer to have a 3-5 day period every month than a month and a half of light period. It's insane."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this medicine for a little over two years. I started taking it to help with my acne. That's the one thing that's been consistent about it. When I started it in 2013, I bled for a month, which was normal, and then I stopped. It worked really well (only one period every three months) for about a year. Then my pharmacy gave me generic, which screwed everything up. I broke out, bled heavily, and my hormones went crazy. After two weeks on generic, I was forced to pay the fee to get the name brand back. Since then, it hasn't been the same. My ob-gyn says it is because my body is immune to it. I start bleeding two weeks into the pack, spot all the way until my period, and then the process starts all over again. I have gained 20 pounds..."

For Birth Control "I started taking this as birth control about 5 months after the birth of my first child. I am in the middle of week 7, and it's not going good so far. I haven't had any weight gain yet, however, I have headaches almost every day. Along with middle acne, and I've been bleeding enough to use a tampon for about ten days. I'm going to take it until the end of pack one, but being 22 with a 6-month-old, attending school full time, I can't handle the bleeding, headaches, and exhaustion if they continue!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for nearly 6 months. My new obgyn told me to stop taking it because of my blood pressure, as it rose since I started this pill. I also gained 18 lbs on this pill. I even changed my eating to eating healthier, which didn't affect my weight. I also got a shorter temper on these pills. I also have almost constant breakthrough bleeding with mucus, probably 3-5 days a week."

For Birth Control "No sex drive at all, thought it was me, but after reading a multitude of other comments, it wasn't. Also had continual 'breakthrough' bleeding, which of course, how is that preventing periods?? It isn't! It's one long menstrual cycle for almost a constant month. Plus, it is expensive even with good insurance. Definitely switching to something else and at least plan my period, have enjoyable sex with my husband again."

For Endometriosis "I have been taking this pill since April. I have two weeks to go before I should start my cycle. However, I have been bleeding every day since my second week of taking this pill. I plan to stop after this Saturday; I am tired of bleeding for 3 months. I will try another method for my endometriosis."

For Ovarian Cysts "I loved Seasonique. I took it for about a year. I am switching to Jolessa only because it is a lot cheaper through my insurance. I never had bleeding unless I was on the inactive pills or I missed pills. I always had light periods while I was on it that were about 4 days. Wish I didn't have to switch."

For Birth Control "I've been on Seasonique for almost 2 years now - it has drastically reduced my sex drive, but I thought the convenience of the 4 periods per year was worth it. However, I am now on almost week 2 of my current period and having some serious issues with heavy bleeding - it may be my age (38) or other reasons, but at this point, I'm ready to find other options."

For Endometriosis "I have been on Seasonique for a month and a week, and I am having the worst time of my life! I am on BC due to an endometriosis flare-up, soreness during sex, and hormonal changes in my system. I have never taken this particular pill before; I was prescribed Lo-Seasonique in the past, which was perfect! Seasonique is damaging! My body is aching; my breasts feel 20 lbs heavier in that area alone; the cramping, OMG, is on another level! I’m so frustrated right now because now I’m not sure if I should stop cold turkey or not; bleeding is now out of control! Every review I have read, I can relate to, and it’s unfortunate because normally I would stand by Lo-Seasonique, but this dosage is the worst. READ THE REVIEWS— THEY HAVE BEEN SPOT ON!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Well, I was on this BC Seasonique for 3 years. It has been great. I have stopped the BC because I want to try and have my last baby. Well, since I stopped it on October 10, 2019, I have been bleeding very heavily, very bad cramping, and headaches. Has anyone else gone through this after stopping this BC? I have tried a few other BCs, but nothing ever happened like this after stopping it. Please let me know if you have had this problem after stopping this BC. Thank you all."

For Birth Control "I have really good insurance, so the cost was not a problem. I've been on this pill for 4 1/2 months, and for the first three months, everything was fine besides the bleeding and breast tenderness. I started month 4, and everything was perfect! Halfway through week 5, I experienced awful cramping, bloating, constipation, and headaches, hopefully, they will go away! As long as I can get rid of that, it would be a great pill due to the fact I'm anemic, and it helps to not have a period but 4 times a year!"

For Endometriosis "I am about 2 1/2 months into Seasonique and have had medium bleeding for the last 11 days. Also, my hands are swollen, and the joints in them hurt like crazy. The doctor said he is switching me as I shouldn't be bleeding this much/long, and it may not be strong enough for me. The 1st month went fine, though, and I only was late by 3 hours on ONE pill. If you are trying these out, make sure to take your pills ON TIME every night!"

For Birth Control "I was on Seasonique for a 3-month cycle. During that period of time, I gained about 15 pounds, experienced horrible irritability, and I bled so much I was practically on my period for 3 months. Everyone has different experiences with birth control, but mine was really terrible with this particular medication."

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for about 3 years now, and I still have bleeding for like 2 weeks at a time. I have told my OB, but she says it takes time, but this is too long. I would rather have one a month than 2 weeks. It's crazy, but everyone is different."

"Before I started this birth control, I would go months (6-7) without a period. I have been on Seasonique for 8 weeks now. The first week everything went fine, but as the weeks progressed, I have been having horrible cramps to where all I can do is lay on the couch. I've experienced headaches, which I have never had before, and severe acne. Lastly, I have had bleeding for 14 days now, which hasn't even begun to lighten up or show signs of stopping soon."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "Two weeks after beginning Seasonique, I began developing severe cramps and heavy bleeding. I went to the doctor who prescribed it to me, and he told me to wait it out and to continue taking it. However, about a week later, I was in such severe pain (and extremely nauseous) that I had to be taken to the emergency room. The ER doc said that my symptoms were likely due to the birth control pill, as the body can take two to three months to adjust to it. However, she advised me to stop the pill because I had been bleeding for three weeks and was having severe cramps (worse than my usual periods). I would not recommend this pill to anyone, and I don't know if I'd ever be willing to try another birth control pill again after this awful experience."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is the worst birth control that I have ever taken. I have been on different types of birth control pills, but this one is far the worst ever. I changed from my progesterone-only pills to Seasonique because of “four cycles a year.” I took this birth control for 6 months. And within that 6 months, I bled almost DAILY!!!! In April, I switched back to my former birth control. It is now September, and my body is still not back to normal. The abnormal bleeding has gotten somewhat better. But I still have bleeding that lasts a week to 14 days between cycles. Ladies, be warned. Yes, this will work as a birth control method because you are constantly on your cycle. Don’t let “4 cycles a year” be the reason to take this pill, as you may regret your decision."

For Birth Control "The first 1.5 packs of this pill I had a little bit of breakthrough bleeding at the end of each month, but as time has gone by, this has stopped. I do get moody around the 4th week mark of each month, but that's normal for me. I've also been getting migraines and have gained around 25 lbs, which is very abnormal for me. Although, with time, these side effects have been improving, and I've found ways to reverse them. When I first started taking this pill, I was really tempted to give up as I was extremely moody all of the time, had literally zero libido, and terrible migraines every single day. These things subsided within the first month, and I found ways to improve the negative effects (personal lubricant, taking 5-HTP). Ultimately, I'm glad I stuck with it because it's totally worth it to only have my period 4 times per year (and it also only lasts about 3 days now, albeit with bad cramping). PS: CBD oil helped me a lot with the migraines!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for years. It's very effective, and I haven't been pregnant once. It also helps with cramps and pelvic pain. As long as you take it correctly every night, it should be fine. This pill helped me beat adolescent pregnancy. I only took away a star because it made me bleed for 3 weeks when I first used it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I take the generic of this med, and I tell you! I got on this medicine to have less periods due to heavy bleeding and ovarian cysts, and oh my gosh, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever experienced. I started my period a month into this pill. Let’s just say I started my period July 8th… it’s August 13th, and I am STILL BLEEDING!!!! My cramps are excruciating, I’m gaining weight!!! My energy levels are ZERO. It’s been an absolute nightmare! I also have passed what looks like the whole lining of my uterus, and it is the worst pain I have ever experienced, worse than any of the ovarian cysts I have experienced. I feel like the definition of insanity every day I take another pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for 4 months now. I got on it because you're only supposed to have a period 4 times a year. I started on Seasonique and started bleeding, which really sucked because I just had my son and just stopped bleeding from having him. Then I just figured my body has to get used to it. I bled for 4 1/2 days like my normal period. Every other week, I started bleeding. Now, after 4 months, I have been bleeding for 2 weeks straight. Sometimes it gets so light I think it's going to stop and will stop at night. I go to sleep and wake up, and surprise, I'm bleeding again. I have never had a period last for more than 5 days, and this birth control is supposed to help not have a period. I have stomach cramps so bad I can't move sometimes."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Diagnosed chronic severe migraine sufferer. Couldn’t tolerate ANY contraceptive pill, including low dose, progesterone-only/mini pill, etc. On Seasonique for 3 months, recommended by Dr. Feel more ‘balanced’ hormonally, better skin, etc. Some on-and-off spot bleeding over 3 months, but this seems to be improving. Still have migraines, but less. Monthly hormonal migraine still turns up but manageable with migraine medication and this. Also was anemic, now without the periods, my iron levels are up, so great to have energy now. Recommend worth a try!!"

"I am on my final week of active pills on my first package. I have had more bleeding in these three months on this pill than I would have had with a normal monthly cycle. Beginning with week 5, I had 16 days of active bleeding. The rest of the time, there is always some evidence of bleeding when I use the restroom. I wanted less bleeding, not more. I don't have any other side effects."
