For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my 3rd month of this birth control, and at first glance, I thought this would be wonderful. I recently switched from Nexplanon to Seasonique, and I'm starting to regret that change. I have been bleeding for 17 days, and it does not seem to let up. I am still experiencing menstrual cramps on top of the bleeding, and I am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Although I want to continue the pack, I am having second thoughts. Nexplanon isn't great, but this isn't a holy grail to your period answers either. Pick your poison, ladies."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started the generic of Seasonique about 5 months ago. The first three months were great, I got my period when I was supposed, was light, and didn't last long. Then about 2 months into my next pack, I started bleeding again, and it lasted until the end of that pack. Once I started the new pack that I am on now, it stopped. I'm only a week in, and I'm bleeding again. I have a daily alarm on my phone so that I take it at the same time every day."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking the generic of Seasonique on August 16th. It is now October 11th, and I have not stopped bleeding. It's the equivalent of a moderate period. I am trying to wait it out and take it through the end of the first pack to see if the bleeding subsides, but I still have another 5 weeks, and I'm not sure it's worth it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "If you are thinking about this pill, Seasonique, one word - DON'T. I'm 45, with my tubes tied, but have had bad cycles most of my life. I thought 4 cycles a year, YASSS GREAT, now I am on day 17 and I am ridiculously sick at the stomach and still bleeding!"

For Birth Control "On week 3 of taking this pill. I don't know how I will tolerate it for 2 more months. We'll see if I can stick it out. Am taking this as part of addressing anemia resulting from several fibroids. I will give it 2 more weeks, but have severe cramps, so bad that I have left work early, which is why I am on this to begin with... for heavy bleeding and pain."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this pill for almost 3 months, only 1 week away, but I've been bleeding since the second week I started this pill. I haven't had any weight gain or acne problems, but I have had a significant decrease in energy (which, with how much I enjoy running, is not working out because I would rather sleep all day and lay around, and that's not me at all). Also, sex drive = non-existent, and I should have the urge at 23, but it just isn't there. So, this definitely isn't the right pill for me. It did eliminate the cramping, though, but the bleeding and being worn out are too much to handle."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about a year, and I like it just fine. It can be so hard to find a birth control that is right for you! This one is great because you only have to have a period every three months! I've read a few reviews that say they skip the sugar pills and forego having a period. I've tried that twice, and both times I had a ton of breakthrough bleeding and basically had my period anyway. Maybe it's different for everyone. I have started getting migraines occasionally lately, which isn't normal for me. I think this may be a side effect of this pill that is fairly common. Other than that, the pill has worked really well for me! It doesn't make me gain weight, which was an issue for me with other pills."

For Birth Control "Honestly, I know experiences often depend on the woman, but I had nothing but problems. I bled every single day for 4 months before I finally stopped taking it. It was awful. I am a healthy young woman with a regular period. My doctor said the bleeding was normal. But 4 months straight? I don't think so. That being said, the upside was I didn't have worsening acne, weight gain, headaches, etc."

For Endometriosis "I started Seasonique in September of last year. The first 3-month pack worked awesome for me, my acne cleared up, my cramps from endometriosis diminished, and I only had 1 period in 3 months with no breakthrough bleeding or spotting. However, in week 5 of my second pack, I started spotting, and a week after that, I was bleeding like a regular menstrual cycle. Also, my cramps became more severe, and I developed tremendous pain in my lower back. I have been bleeding for the past 6 weeks since I first noticed the spotting, and my cramps have come back in full force. After reading some of the reviews on this website, I feel a little better, but I suppose my case is a rare and extreme reaction because I haven't seen anything too close in comparison."

For Birth Control "I'm going into my third pack of the generic brand. I LOVE IT. Of course, with any medication, there's always side effects and allowing your body to get used to it. My first pack I bled for a little over a month, but of course that was already spoken about at the doctor's. I'm about to go into my third pack in about a week and a half, and I've had some light spotting, but nothing to be alarmed about. A little upsetting because I don't want my period at all unless it's when I'm supposed to get it, but this is normal. I highly recommend this method of birth control, my friend encouraged me to do this instead of continuing with the IUD I had inserted for 4 years. I give it a 10!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Seasonique for about nine months. I just started my 4th pack. I was originally on the shot, but it made me extremely depressed after getting it once, so I took a 5-month break and started Seasonique. I rarely have mood swings, I don’t get acne or headaches, and haven’t gained any weight. This birth control was perfect for me until I started bleeding for 3 months straight. I don’t bleed a lot, I could pass by just wearing liners all day, but it stops for maybe a week when I start a new pack, and I start it again out of nowhere. If I didn’t bleed so constantly, this would be the perfect birth control for me. When I am on my “period pills,” I only bleed for about 4 days and get a little cramp here and there, but it’s nothing compared to how they used to be. Debating if I should wait to finish my last pack or just try to get a new one."

For Birth Control "Seasonique was absolutely horrible for me. I bled heavily for three months straight. The bleeding went from spotting to the point where clots the size of my fist were coming out. I had to take medical leave from my job because the bleeding was so bad. I ended up needing a D&C to clear everything out and start fresh with no birth control. While Seasonique was totally free with my insurance, it cost me tons in heavy-duty sanitary products, hospital bills, and lost wages."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this pill for almost a year. The first nine months (three cycles) went by without any issues. I was put on it because I get sick every time I get my period and my cramps are terrible. Halfway through my eleventh month, I got my period, but I figured it was just spotting, so I continued to take the normal pill. Almost six weeks later, I'm still bleeding, and I've felt faint the past few days. This is hell. I'm switching off of it next week."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been experiencing quite a few of the symptoms I've read in this forum due to Seasonique. I am looking to stop taking the medication but only saw a couple of people that stated they stopped taking it, but no follow-up information in regard to what happened when they stopped. I'm curious to know how long the bleeding took to stop or if maybe switching to another medication stopped it? Please HELP!"

For Birth Control "I am 38 years old. I have been on this pill for the last three years on and off. I was good in the beginning, but after a year, everything is not good. I have bad mood swings, headaches, and now my period comes before I even start the last month. I figured I would continue to try it, but I cannot anymore. With severe pains and excessive bleeding to the point I have had to go home from work, I wear Depend undergarments at night because I use three packs of overnight pads in the space of a week. I have never had problems this bad until lately. I am already anemic as is and cannot continue with this pill. One good thing is I have never gotten pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "I never know when my period is going to be on this pill. I get spotting twice a month sometimes. Currently, I am on one of the heaviest periods I've ever been on, and there is so much uterine lining that I'm thinking it's from past periods that were just from those random spottings, maybe supposed to be periods. It's so horrible. I've been on this pill for over 6 months and have bled way too much in that period of time."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Started taking the generic brand. The first two months worked fine. Three days into my third pack, started spotting. Now I'm full-blown on my period. Have always bled for five days and always lighten up by the fourth day. I'm still bleeding very heavy, and it's day six. Not sure if I should stop taking the pill or wait it out."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my 2nd pack on my third month of pills. I have been on the generic brand of Seasonique called Ashlyna, starting on my 6th month. The first month, as soon as I started, I thought it was going to be awesome. By the second month, I started bleeding and bled like a heavy period for a little over 3 weeks. Called my doctor, she said that my body just had to get used to it. The third month was just fine, and the 4th month as well. The fifth month, I started spotting here and there, but nothing serious. Now I am starting on my 6th month and on the last pack, and I have been spotting since October 6 and just got a heavy period today, and I am not due for a period till 3 more weeks. I am going to wait it out and see what happens. Good luck, everyone."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This medication is absolutely awesome! I had been taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for years and had continuously suffered from breakthrough bleeding. I have tried other birth control medications, but nothing helped until I decided to try Seasonique. It is a miracle drug, no more mood swings or abnormal bleeding. This pill is a lifesaver!"

For Birth Control "I have had PMDD since my teens, I'm 40 now. Being a single mom caring for children on my own, I want to make sure I'm on my best behavior. Well, once a month I wasn't, and so I decided to finally look into treatments. My doctor suggested Seasonique because it stops my periods. No periods, no PMS. I've been on it for exactly three months today. For three months, I have been spotting every single day, enough to have to wear panty liners, sometimes I even had to wear light tampons. I thought that not having a period would save me some money on not having to buy those products, but I was wrong. As for my PMDD, it has certainly created a significant change each month, however, it's still too soon to tell if it's a permanent solution. I will be talking to my doctor about switching if the bleeding doesn't go away. I don't see it feasible living a life where I'm bleeding every day, and I'm pretty sure the daily panty liners will catch up to me with some sort of bacterial infection."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Seasonique was great for 2 months, and then on the 3rd month, I started to bleed heavily. Every time I stood up, I felt like I peed myself. Every minute, I had to change my pad/liner, and then blood clots. It was just bad. Very uncomfortable. My period was light for the first week, and then 2 more weeks, that’s when it got heavy, heavier than my regular period. So yes, maybe my body was transitioning, but I honestly couldn’t stand it. I hate that uncomfortable feeling, especially at night. I would leak all the way down to my bum crack (sorry). And I would get very hot at night. I am officially off birth control. I’d rather get my period every month for 2-3 days, work out, have a good diet, and drink water and know my body, rather than not knowing what is going to happen. Obviously, everyone’s body is different, but the heavy periods ain’t it. Ain’t about that life, like I said, I’d rather get a light period every month than deal with a heavy one for weeks. Also, I had bad cramps!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Seasonique going on 5 years now. I originally got on it to try to help clear up my skin. 6 months later, I started taking medication from my dermatologist to treat my acne, and it was cured by that treatment I believe, but the BC could have helped it as well. The first 3 months I bled every day, so that sucked, but after that I regulated, and as long as I took it at the same time every day, I had a period every 3 months that lasted 3-4 days when I was previously used to 7-day periods. The only thing that really was awful about this pill is that it killed my sex drive after about 3 1/2 - 4 years of being on the pill, which obviously took a toll on my relationship, so I’m on the last pack and switching to Sprintec."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Seasonique after struggling with my periods for decades. My doctor tells me to try it for three months. Normally, I have a 5-7 day period that starts super heavy and ends light. My cramps are brutal, so I’m hoping this will work. I take it every single morning at 6:15 on the dot. I don’t skip or forget. I’m still bleeding now, but it’s daily. I’m having terrible cramps that wake me up in the middle of the night. Things aren’t getting better, they’re getting worse. I contacted my doctor, and she referred me to a specialist. I’m hopeful something will be done, but birth control did nothing except cause more pain. If it doesn’t feel right to you, stop taking it. I wish I’d listened to my gut about three months too."

For Endometriosis "I started Seasonique due to my endometriosis, and my Dr. wanted to stop my periods. I started the pill on 10/15, didn't bleed from then to 11/26. Then I started spotting at first, then this turned into red heavy bleeding from then on. After failed attempts of trying to call and get in to see my Dr., after 18 days of bleeding, I went to the ER, where they did nothing but a pregnancy test and some regular blood work, that came back normal, and told me I had dysfunctional uterine bleeding due to endometriosis! I then called my Dr. again after telling them I went to the ER, they then were able to get me in 5 days later. At this time, I've been 23 days, after an examination, the Dr. wants me to stay on Seasonique for 7 more days, taking it not once, but three times a day!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started this in June 2015. My purpose is to help with perimenopause symptoms. Five weeks were good, no bleeding. Now I am bleeding for the next five weeks daily...with clots sometimes. Was trying for the hormone to alleviate cycle anxiety attacks. Still get those too, like clockwork. Going to try an IUD next."
