For Birth Control "Lo-Seasonique is a good birth control, and awesome to not have a period for 3 months. I had stopped taking birth control for a year because of migraines, they improved and then worsened again. MD put me on Lo-Seasonique. Initially, I had breakthrough bleeding, had never had problems before. I read up on it, and to all of you that have problems, change the time you are taking the pill and take it with/after food and/or something acidic (orange juice). The reason for a lot of breakthrough is high estrogen not being absorbed. Otherwise, I have had minor cramping periodically if I miss ONE pill. I do notice a drop in sex drive and just a heavy feeling. But minor changes. Otherwise, now almost a year on it, it's awesome."

For Birth Control "I have been taking LoSeasonique for years. I have never had problems with it until lately. Due to my new job, I have been bad at taking the pill at the same time every day, which is causing a lot of spotting, which is my fault. But I have noticed a decrease in sex drive. Otherwise, I have never had a problem with this for 5 years."

For Birth Control "I have been on it for 7 months now. During my first pack, I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding, but it went away by my 2nd month. The main thing I like is my moods are more stable and overall better. And no PMS! However, I must say my sex drive has decreased a ton. It does have its pros and cons."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Seasonique for a little over a month now. Within the first month, I experienced some pain in my uterus (which only lasted a couple of days, no big deal), flared-up acne, moodiness, increased appetite, decreased sex drive, and dryness. I was so frustrated with all of this, I'd already made up my mind that I was going back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen, but since I started the second month of pills, all these side effects seem to be decreasing. Now I'm not sure whether I want to keep taking Seasonique, or if I want to just switch back. If you're happy with your current birth control method, DO NOT switch just because you want fewer periods."

For Endometriosis "I have severe cramping (can only compare to labor contractions) on the first day of my period. My legs hurt and the pain works its way up to my stomach and leaves me in the fetal position while waiting for meds to kick in. My gyn did a laparoscopy in 2010, and it helped until 4-5 months ago. I now have a new gyn, and she wants me to try a hormonal therapy (birth control) to eliminate the cramping. I was not happy about taking birth control (had bad results when I took it in my 20s). I am now on my second week of LoSeasonique and have experienced headaches, lack of energy, and no sex drive (which I was never really active anyway). I haven't taken it long enough to see how my body will react to the pain, but I am crossing my fingers. I have not had any spotting."

For Birth Control "I got this medication as a 46-year-old mom who is done childbearing, and with a very active sex life, didn't feel a monthly period was necessary anymore. I suffered from PMS and had heard it could help with that as well. The first two weeks, I had morning nausea, but then came an onslaught of other side effects. I'm normally anxious, and this made my anxiety skyrocket. I also suffered a huge nosedive in sex drive. I got what seemed like a yeast infection, which, treated, never really went away, then a UTI. Sex became uncomfortable due to lack of lubrication. I went from a 46-year-old woman with an extremely active sex life and high sex drive, to a lack of sensation, like sandpaper during intercourse, soreness and irritation, and low libido. I would have to say the high anxiety was the worst part. I'll keep my minor PMS and monthly bleeding, thanks."

"Just completed 6 months on this. I had very heavy, horrible periods with no pills at all. The first 3-4 weeks on this, I had some bleeding, but it has completely stopped since. Even when I was supposed to get my period, I did not get much of anything. Contact lenses are killing me, vision is not the same. Very, very tired all the time. No energy. No sex drive. I get weird pains in my legs all the time."

For Birth Control "In my case, the convenience of only having 4 periods a year outweighs the inconvenience of having decreased sex drive."

For Premenstrual Syndrome "I have taken it for years. No more moodiness, no more depression, no more pain, no more bloating, no more bleeding. Life is fantastic. It does make my rosacea worse, I do have to take a water pill with it, and I do have decreased sex drive. However, sex is more fun and more frequent because I feel so much better! So much better."
