For Birth Control "I was on Levora for about 9 years and have quit taking it now for about a year. I never became pregnant on this pill, so it definitely serves its purpose, but I did have some common side effects that it seems a lot of women complained about as well. My two biggest issues were a VERY decreased libido (almost non-existent), breast tenderness, and anxiety. I'm still suffering from anxiety issues, so I'm not sure if the pill contributed to the anxiety, or if I would've started having it even if I never started taking the pill."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 4 years and have really bad cystic acne. Then my doc prescribed me Ortho Levora to stop it. I was amazed that it cleared my face. However, when I stopped it, it comes back. Well, I had a pretty bad diet and did not exercise, so probably it contributes to the cystic acne lesions. Now, I exercise 5-6 times per week and my diet is straight (no fast food, any types of sweet beverages- even juice or Gatorade-, no fried stuff, salty food, etc.). Now, I can get off Levora without having any problems with cystic acne. Weight gain wise, I did pack a lot of pounds when I first started taking it. Well, I was eating unhealthy, so it must be the culprit, not the birth control itself. If anyone complains about gaining weight on this, you are eating too much."

For Birth Control "Since starting Levora 3 months ago, I've had severe panic attacks, fatigue, nausea, and awful mood swings. Off it as of today. I suggest taking it, then re-evaluating how you feel after 90 days. I can honestly say it's turned me into a raging lunatic with no control over my emotions. This has been my worst experience on birth control yet. The anxiety is overwhelming, which causes hostility and depression. Please be careful, ladies!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I didn't even make 6 days into the pack before I had to quit from the worst bleeding I've ever had and severe depression and anxiety. I have 2 LOs 22 months apart, and I'd rather do that all over again than take this birth control."

For Birth Control "This is the first and only birth control medication I've been on. I've been taking it a little over 2 years now. I've had no side effects besides EXTREMELY low sex drive. I've never had a particularly high sex drive, but now it's nonexistent. I haven't had any of the headaches or mood swings. There was a mild increase in my acne, but I'm also a college student, so I don't particularly lay all the blame on the pill. Overall, it does its job, but I would caution potential takers with low libido."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 8 months now. I started when I met the most amazing man in the world. Unfortunately, we're in a long-distance relationship, so the small amount of time we get every 2 weeks, he, of course, wants to have sex. Before I started Levora, I would have sex with him 2-4 times a day, it was the most amazing sex of my life! Ever since I started the pill, I don't even want to kiss him. He thinks I'm not attracted to him anymore because I NEVER want to have sex! If he wasn't so in love and patient with me, I know that he would have been gone by now. I absolutely hate how much this has affected my sex drive, it's caused me to gain 10 lbs, and sometimes I get overly emotional/depressed."

"I was on Levora for 3 months exactly, and the whole 3 months I had horrible mood swings and irritability. I also had weird pulling pains in my uterus between the 'period' time, and it was not pleasant at all. My 'periods' did get much lighter (before this, I had very heavy periods due to fibroids with lots of pain), but it just doesn't feel like my body is functioning properly. I am getting breakthroughs now at the end of month three, and I have gained weight, and it keeps creeping up and up despite me cutting back on calorie intake and working out. Also, sex drive pretty much disappeared, and I feel disgusted by myself because I've never been this heavy and bloated. I cannot wear most of my clothes that fit me 3 months ago. I'd rather be in pain for a week with heavy bleeding and return to my normal self than keep taking these pills. Getting off! I also want to add that no other BC ever gave me these many problems."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’m currently on Levora and have been taking it since mid-July. I’ve had my period for 11 days now, which is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It isn’t an unbearable period with bad cramps (although there are random rumbles here and there), but it IS a big nuisance! And so random! Thankfully, I’ve experienced some weight gain (I was quite slim and was pleasantly surprised to notice my breasts getting bigger. My bf is quite happy too :)). I hope this period ends soon, though, because it’s not exactly the easiest thing to have for this long, and I’d like to be able to enjoy the rest of the summer without a nagging period to ruin plans."

For Birth Control "I guess I can't complain. You get on birth control to not get pregnant. I've been on Levora for about 5 months now, and I have recently decided I am done. Since starting this pill, I have gained 12 pounds. For the past two years of my life, I have weighed between 108 and 110. Levora makes you crave food like crazy. I have turned into an emotional wreck. I cry all the time, I am easily annoyed and fly between depression and feeling fine within minutes. I have lost all sex drive. It's absolutely gone."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for over a year, and I have literally had all the side effects that are listed. I've felt so depressed and moody ever since taking this pill, and I never used to be like that. I strongly recommend not taking this med if you typically feel nauseous a lot or if you have terrible periods like me. I have gained about 15 pounds from this med, and I always feel bloated. Switching to something different tomorrow."

For Birth Control "The first week I got Levora from Planned Parenthood was hell. I was a crazy and moody beast, and I ate everything in sight. Right now I'm finishing up my second month, and it's going way better. The weird food cravings have gone down significantly, although I have gained about 4.5 pounds. The clinician said it would help my acne, but it hasn't really changed yet. Although I am really stressed with finals at college, so that may be why. It hasn't really dramatically increased though. But what HAS dramatically increased is my sex drive. I've never been a very sex-driven lady, but now I definitely am, and my boyfriend is loving it, hahaha. Unfortunately, it hasn't made my breasts grow though. All in all, I really like it."

For Endometriosis "I've been on Levora for three years to help with my endometriosis. I've gained weight, but most women do while taking any type of birth control. I used to have really bad acne, now I only really break out during my period. Also, my period is lighter and shorter. Every woman is different, and our bodies aren't going to be the same as another woman taking the same birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for two months. The first couple of days, I couldn't stop crying... I am NOT the crying type of person, and I had constant mood swings. The following two months, I gained a significant amount of weight (10 pounds) even with running and dieting. My breasts were beyond sore, and I couldn't handle my husband even lightly touching them. I felt bloated the entire time, and my periods were back in full force! With my previous birth control (Natazia - my insurance stopped covering), I had no period and no ovarian cysts bursting. My gynecologist recommended I get off of this pill immediately. Hopefully, I will have better luck with the next!"

For Birth Control "I have 3 days left on this first month of Levora. It helped to stop my post-miscarriage bleeding. That's about the only positive side effect I've experienced. It started with horrible dry, itchy eyes, then random uncontrollable crying spells and poor ability to sleep. I've since become so, so down, I'm so damn depressed. This is going in the trash bin! Please be careful. Hormones are a delicate balance. I'm going to try Vitex - chasteberry tree after this month is over."

"I have been on Levora for about 2 years now, and I'm about to switch. What I like about the pill is that it works great. I'm forgetful and haven't gotten pregnant. When I miss, I can't double up because I will get highly nauseous. I also have to take three months straight before I can take the placebo week. If not, I will wake up in the middle of the night on the first night back and throw up. Other issues I've had: nausea, headaches, weight gain, anxiety, excessive crying over nothing, I'm easily irritated and angered, increased hunger. The worst side effect, however, has been my sex drive. It has completely gone. I have to talk myself into having sex with my husband. Not cool."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for about a year, and well, I did gain about 10-15 pounds, and what's worse is that it makes me lazy and exhausted all the time. It does have some benefits, like not getting pregnant, it made my face clear up and glow, also regular short and light periods, and I did in fact notice my boobs get bigger, which I did not mind. Once I noticed my weight gain, I had to make healthier choices and definitely work out. I just don't like that it makes me tired. I read on here that it affects your sex drive. I've never had a problem with mine. I do believe everybody reacts to it differently."

For Birth Control "On this pill for a couple of months. I had heavy bleeding for the first solid month. I started having anxiety and bouts of depression. I have never felt that way on a BC pill before. I would have stomach problems to where I would vomit or have diarrhea. I chalked up everything to just having a baby at first, but soon realized it was the pills. I immediately quit taking them and had my old prescription filled. The pills just did not mix well for me. I was on Sprintec for 4.5 years and never had a problem!"

"I was put on Levora because I didn't want my period anymore. Didn't have any problems to begin with, my period has always been light and on time. It would just happen on days where I really needed it not to. I've been taking it for exactly 3 weeks (started the day my period ended), and it's been great! I have no mood swings whatsoever, no weight gain, no headaches, and no nausea! My libido was already pretty high, but now it's even higher! My breasts are a tiny bit sore, but they've increased from an A to a B. The only negative thing I've noticed so far is that I have more breakouts than I used to, but it's not horrible. I was supposed to start my period today but didn't, so it could be working for that. As long as I have fewer periods. First birth control for me."

For Birth Control "So, I'm writing this after a 6-year period of use from age 15 to 21. It definitely did its job since I've never been pregnant. It made my periods lighter and my cramps very minor, which is great. No significant weight gain or loss. No mood swings. (In fact, I'd say that my emotional state became even LESS sensitive than before.) But man, was it KILLING my sex drive! And on the rare occasion when I actually was feeling aroused, my vagina wouldn't even self-lubricate! Nothing going on down there whatsoever. It was a shitty situation for both me and my partner. Strangely enough, the pill also dulled my sense of smell. So yeah, the pill did its job, but overall, it changed other things in ways that really concerned me. Glad to be off of it."

For Birth Control "I took this mainly for easing the pain of periods and then got into a relationship later on. It has definitely kept me from getting pregnant and shortened my periods by days, but I've gained at least fifteen pounds and I have gotten insanely emotional. It's really miserable."

For Birth Control "I switched from having the implant (Implanon) and have been taking Levora for a little over 3 weeks now. While I had the implant, I had constant dark discharge, had depression, very low sex drive, not being able to get wet, and weight gain (and I am an extremely active person). Since I've been on Levora, I have gotten more sensitive and get irritated easily, but other than that, nearly everything was fixed! I feel my sex drive is coming back and my discharge is completely back to normal. I also am able to get wet during sex. Still no change in weight, though, but I think this pill has definitely helped me overall. Plus, it's working by not getting me pregnant."

For Birth Control "I began Levora to help control my migraines that are caused by a significant drop in estrogen on or right before my period. Although they worked for the migraines, I started to notice symptoms like extreme moodiness, crying, frustration, etc. within the first month, but figured my body was just getting used to it since this is the first birth control I've been on. Three months later, it got worse, and I also had problems with water weight, a huge increase in acne, and terrible dry spots all over my face. The emotions got so bad it was affecting my relationship, so I had to stop."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I went on this pill to help control my insane periods and help with my acne. I'm quite young, and my periods would last from 7-10 days. My periods would be so bad that I would throw up, not be able to walk, and faint. So I decided to go on birth control to lighten my periods. My doctor told me to skip the placebo pills every month for 4 months. After the fourth month, I got my period, and it made the cramping and blood flow EVEN WORSE! I also went on it to help with acne, and I can say that it has possibly made my acne worse. Before going on the pill, I rarely got large, hard pimples on my cheeks, and now that's a regular occurrence. If you're like me, I wouldn't recommend this pill!!"

"I've been taking Levora for 2 months now. The first few weeks were awful... I was an emotional wreck with severe mood swings. Also, I would feel very nauseous the majority of the time, especially immediately after taking the pill. I had bad breast tenderness, but within a few weeks, this subsided. I only had a few days of irregular spotting, but this soon subsided as well. On the second pack, I really had hardly any problems with this birth control. However, I am planning on switching pills because the one major problem I have with this pill, which is a serious deal breaker for me, is that ever since starting the pill, I have experienced terrible acne... large, painful, under-the-skin pimples and also many tiny pimples on my forehead. Hope this helps!"

For Birth Control "Seriously the worst birth control I've used! It's done its purpose of preventing pregnancy, but the side effects are horrible! Ever since being on Levora, it's been nothing but a negative experience. I get very fatigued, nauseous, and have severe migraines. I'm 20 years old and never had high blood pressure until I got on this pill. I have horrible mood swings and anxiety. My fiancé and I have noticed a big change in my emotions. I can be totally fine one moment, then be crying the next or be very hostile! I will get heart palpitations and shortness of breath out of nowhere. It didn't help with reducing cramping pain at all while being on my cycle, in fact, it felt so much worse than before. I experience severe vaginal dryness, which makes sex very painful during and after! Never had a problem with lubrication at all until this pill, and it's definitely not related to arousal. I do not recommend this pill at all! Getting off of it ASAP!!!"
