For Birth Control "This birth control is insane. No, I have not gotten pregnant, but after visiting my local Planned Parenthood, they told me they stopped carrying Apri, my original birth control. I was on Apri for about 2 years, and it was amazing. But I didn't have a choice besides switching due to my lack of health insurance. So, the first three months, totally fine. Yeah, a little moody here and there, but nothing out of the usual. By the time the fourth month rolled around, I gained almost 15 lbs, had the worst mood swings and cramps around my ovulation time, spotted every week, and my period just keeps getting longer and longer. Before, it was like clockwork, down to the very hour, 11 months out of the 12. I have one month left to go, then switching."

For Birth Control "As a birth control, this worked well. It did not cause me to gain weight, and it helped my acne. But I had TERRIBLE mood swings. I cried a lot, and the smallest of things would make me angry. This was my first time being on birth control, so I had no idea that it could have such an effect on my mood/personality. It honestly made me a different person. So I switched to Lomedia and finally felt like myself again!"

For Birth Control "As far as its intended use (birth control), it seems to be doing its job, however, it did come with some side effects. I haven't experienced any acne or weight issues, but my mood/attitude has been out of control. I'm a very level-headed, stoic type of person, but my emotions have been all over the board, from crying for no good reason to outbursts of rage at the tiniest inconvenience. The one positive side effect I have experienced is extremely short, almost non-existent periods. But honestly, I'd rather have a week-long WWIII period if it means keeping my sanity. I plan to switch as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "I used Chateal for about 10 months as birth control. I recommended it 100%, it regulates your period and everything, but it made me so emotional and depressed. I didn't really have a problem with that, and my boyfriend understood the way my emotions changed, so he wouldn't get mad when I was acting like a complete psycho. I changed the pill to Tarina Fe 1/20 because Chateal made me gain 8 pounds in 10 months, and it was almost impossible to drop it. Hopefully, Tarina will not make me gain weight. It's a great method to not get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about a year now. I'm 18 years old, and this was the first birth control I've ever been on. At first, I thought it was great, no problems at all, my periods were only 4 days. Everything was good. I'd say about the third month, I started getting all these symptoms. I'll wake up with extreme nausea and have to throw up. I had sharp pains in my stomach. I get very emotional and want to cry all the time for no reason. I do have mood swings, mostly when I'm about to start my period, which is pretty normal. But just recently, like the last few months, I've been feeling very depressed and sad for no reason. Everyone's body is different, and this is just what happened to me, just wanted to share."

"I have been on these pills for two months, and I'm on my third pack at the moment. First month, I noticed some breast tenderness from week 2, and I was excessively hungry all the time. I was a bit cranky during weeks 2 and 3, with week 4 being incredibly emotional to everything around me. My period was off by 4 days the first month. It came before I even finished my 3rd week of pills. Second month, no more breast tenderness, not moody nor hungry all the time. I developed a craving for sweet foods regardless. It seemed to be somewhat normal again. I had light spotting after 4 days on the placebo pills. I'm now on the first week of my third pack and still spotting (8 days so far). Will update again next month."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for almost 3 months. It works as intended, but during my period, my mood swings would be intense to the point of severe depression, irritability, and suicidal thoughts. I can't say I'm the most well-adjusted person in the first place, but before I was on this, my mood swings were never this bad. I don't want to draw people away from this, as it does work as intended, but mood swings seem to be prominent for this pill according to the other reviews. I'll be considering looking for other BC options once I'm done with this."

For Birth Control "Started taking four months ago, and boy, has it been a ride. Although I have no cramping anymore and my periods are only three days max, there are lots of things I don't like. First, mood swings are out of control. I get mad and cry over the craziest things (never like that before). I always feel super bloated, headaches all the time, and I'm always tired. Also, I got super bad acne on my face, never had any of these problems before the pill. It does its job, though, haven't gotten pregnant while having unprotected sex. So I guess you can take your chances since everybody is different!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this for almost a year. My period is always on time now, I used to be irregular. Haven't gotten pregnant. Before I started Chateal, I had bad acne on my face, which is now better. If I do get a pimple or two, it's close to when I get my period. What I hate about it is I get really bad mood swings. I'm so sensitive now, little things make me cry and mad. Also headaches, but I do notice I get headaches when it's that time of the month. I don't know if it's the birth control, but I'm more fatigued lately."

For Birth Control "Ughhh. I was on Trivora and finally feeling emotionally stable when Planned Parenthood switched me to the 'off brand' Chateal. I read the reviews and actually convinced myself maybe I didn't need birth control at the moment because I want to be sexually active. This pill did not look fun. I went to a doctor and asked for advice. She said pretty emotionlessly, 'Just take it, the side effects should be the same as the name brand. If not, they are really just inconvenient, no biggie.' Yeah, easy for you to say. The reviews are right! Mood swings, random crying, aggravated easily, my skin crawls, constant sleepiness. I get home from work, sleep 5-7, then sleep again easily at midnight. More on weekends with really odd dreams. And TBD new pelvic pain. Yay!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for 4 months. So far, no weight gain, my acne cleared up, no pregnancy issues, my breast size has increased (yay!), periods are really light and consistent. But I've been very emotional (which I hate), my libido isn't as high as it used to be, it's difficult to orgasm sometimes (which I never had a problem with before this birth control). I also think I'm starting to lose some hair. But overall, it's a great type of birth control to try out."

For Birth Control "Definitely works, but it did leave me with some acne that took a while to heal, and if I happened to miss a pill, I would bleed for a few days until my body got back on track. I have been using it for about a year and just switched to Monanessa in hopes of helping with my acne. All in all, I did enjoy Chateal, besides the spotting and mild mood swings."

For Birth Control "Everything was okay the first few weeks I started to take them. I was taking them the same time every day and never missed a pill. After my first period came, I started to notice my mood swings, one minute I was okay, the next I wanted to yell at someone, and I just thought it was because I just started taking the pills. A week after that, I would wake up in the middle of each night and throw up, the next day being so depressed I didn't even want to move. I tried to continue to take them but couldn't due to the side effects I was having every day, the worst I ever took."

For Birth Control "I am naturally tall and slender and have a very athletic build. At first, this birth control, Chateal, was great for me, after about a month of adjustment. Periods are light and easy to schedule or skip. I experienced no weight gain. It has now been 11 months and having some unpleasant side effects. Mood swings, depression, and fatigue, and like most women said, COMPLETE loss of sex drive. This has been the biggest problem for me, as I am in a great relationship and it is coming between us. I will have to find something that is better suited to my hormones."

For Birth Control "I have been on Chateal for about 4 months now. I switched to the pill after having the most horrifying experience with the Nexplanon implant. So far, I have to admit I have experienced some of the side effects: light nausea, abdominal discomfort, and a bit of mood swings. I wouldn't entirely rule it out since it's been okay on my body. The ideal wait time to see if your body adjusted is 6 months. We will see."
