For Birth Control "I took Aviane for only 10 days, but in that time I gained a bit of weight, had severe migraines almost every day, spotting, and severe nausea. I have migraines triggered easily normally, but this was ridiculous. I woke up one morning and almost threw up because I constantly felt so sick. On day 11, before I could even take my next pill, I started my period very heavily with very painful cramps - I wasn't supposed to start for another 2 1/2 weeks (this is what I was put on the pill to control)."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a couple of years now. The first month wasn’t that great because I had a really bad morning sickness sensation. Other than that, it works really well. I haven’t experienced any other side effects. Just remember to always take your pill on time!"

For Birth Control "My doctor initially put me on Aviane after expressing I was experiencing unbearable ovulation pain. Growing up, I always experienced painful periods as well, so I was always curious about birth control. For the first 3 months, everything seemed fairly normal (with the exception of headaches and mild nausea). My skin cleared up immensely, and I didn't gain any noticeable weight. I noticed I got a little moody during my 2nd week on the pill, but nothing that wasn't manageable. I am now on my 4th month of Aviane and started experiencing extreme nausea 24/7. While finishing my 2nd week, I also started getting stomach cramps and spotting. For someone who is sexually active, getting symptoms like this is obviously worrisome, but after reading a few reviews, it seems like a good number of people have experienced a version of this! Hoping this will pass through because besides this, the birth control has been great."

"I have been taking Aviane for the past 3 years, and I have no complaints whatsoever. You may have headaches, nausea, or spotting when you first begin taking it, but that's just your body getting used to it, don't be fooled by terrifying reviews if they've been taking it for less than three months. Before I started Aviane, my cycles were INSANE. I would be in terrible pain, and the changes in my hormone levels were so extreme that I would often have excruciating migraines and vomit for 8+ hours. Now my periods are very light, regular, and typically last for only 3 days. My skin is clearer, and while I did put on some weight at first, it was less than 10 pounds, and I've already worked it off. I would recommend this pill to women everywhere."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control about a month and a half ago. The first 2 weeks weren’t bad other than pretty bad nausea that would last all day! It just got worse, though. I definitely have a much larger appetite, and I crave sweets all the time. It also has severely affected my mood! I’m extremely emotional and crying for no reason or extremely irritated. Not only that, I’m also constantly bleeding! It’s not just spotting like breakthrough bleeding, it’s like I have to wear a tampon every day!!!!! It’s beyond frustrating!!! I’m now in the process of changing to Yas."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm twenty years old and was prescribed Aviane for my anemia. I was so low in hemoglobin because I had heavy and frequent bleeding (2 heavy periods in a month!). It's only been a month, but so far, ZERO weight gain (I'm a model! I take my body image very seriously), no breakthrough bleeding, no nausea, no breast tenderness, and my skin is so much clearer. My period lasted 4 days and was manageable for the first time in my life. I'm hoping that I don't develop side effects later on. I'm very satisfied, and I'd like to stay on this product, I don't want to switch!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about a week now, and so far I've experienced some nausea, and I feel like crying at the drop of a hat. I was on the depo shot, which I loved, but after 2 years, bone density was a concern, and my doctor switched me to this. I've had negative reactions with other pills before, so this super low estrogen pill fit best. I've already noticed some weight loss, and the nausea is starting to get better. Overall, I like this pill."

For Birth Control "After reading all these negative reviews, I suddenly don’t feel as alone. I’ve been on this birth control for 4 years, and I truly think it’s the root of my problems. On my placebo week, I feel 10x better. Then I start back up, and my stomach is terrible, I’m nauseous 24/7. I’ve definitely gained 10+ pounds, exhausted all the time. I am calling my doctor to change me this week because I can’t do it anymore. I also am a very upbeat person, and I feel as if this drug makes me have mood swings, which is unlike me, and then I get upset because I don’t know why I’m feeling so terrible. The bloating is so bad, my boobs get incredibly sore sometimes. I’ve taken pregnancy tests just because my symptoms mimicked pregnancy ones too closely. Not worth it."

For Birth Control "Ok, so I was on the pill at an early age of 16 for PCOS syndrome till about 20 years old. I went cold turkey at 20 till 24 and decided to get back on when I got in a serious relationship. It was good the first week or three. No weight gain, larger breasts, no mood swings... up until the last week of the month. I began having SEVERE anxiety, constant ALL day nausea, and horrible mood swings. I felt so sick every day, and I even went to the hospital. I can honestly say this was the worst experience on birth control I ever had. The stomach sickness and constant hand shaking and anxiety feeling were enough for me to stop this mid-pack!"

For Birth Control "If I could choose a number lower than 1, maybe I would be a bit less upset right now. I've been on the pill for one week and three days. Let's just say, in that short amount of time, I went through hell and back. I'm constantly nauseous with a pounding headache, I'm dizzy all the time, and always in pain because it feels like my stomach acid spread throughout my entire rib cage. I don't recommend this to anyone."

For Ovarian Cysts "I've been taking Aviane for about 2 months, going on three. The first two months were great, now that I am on the third pack, I've been feeling really nauseated. Although it did help with severe cramps, I do not like feeling like I have to throw up all the time. It also cleared up my face a little."

For Birth Control "During my first week, I had aura migraines, so bad that I vomited at times. I'm a month and 4 days into pack 2, and I've had horrible anxiety, depression, decrease in sex drive, loss of appetite, and nausea! This has been the worst experience of my life! I'd rather be pregnant."

For Birth Control "Aviane works very well in preventing unwanted pregnancies. I have shorter and lighter cycles. However, I've gained 15 lbs on Aviane, and my breasts have gone up a cup size, and I already had huge breasts. Also, I noticed myself being more moody and having side effects such as nausea and headaches. Overall, Aviane is okay."

For Birth Control "I just went on this birth control, Aviane, a few weeks ago and immediately suffered nausea for the first several days. As soon as that stopped, I had the worst acne I have ever had in my life. It has turned me into an emotional wreck, where I cry for no reason. I know they say give it a few months, but I’m done with hormonal birth control. This is the second kind I have taken, and both ruin my life. It’s worse than being pregnant."

For Birth Control "So I have irregular periods and decided to get back on BC to regulate them. I'm on day 11 of Aviane, and it is the absolute WORST! I started spotting within a day of taking the pill. I figured since it had been a while that was normal. Ugh. Then I started a full-blown period the next day, and it hasn't gone away. I missed one dosage, and that lightened it up, but now that I'm taking it regularly again, it's a heavy cycle again. Also, I've vomited once and have been consistently nauseous and have headaches all day. I try to drink water and eat, but nothing is helping, except laying down, and I can't do that all day. My mood is ridiculous. I cry about everything now. I cried because the sun was out and it was beautiful. SMH. I would say stay away!"

For Birth Control "I have taken this medication for exactly a whole year. It did its job by not allowing me to become pregnant, but the first month was horrible! I had really bad nausea and headaches. But overall, it's a great contraceptive."

For Birth Control "This was the third birth control that I tried, and was pretty close to just not using birth control pills anymore since the last two I tried had such severe side effects. However, this pill has been going quite well for me. I have been taking it for the past 2 weeks, and the only side effects I've noticed are nausea, headaches, a little more tired than usual, slightly more acne. I am also getting this weird stomach pain after eating right after taking my pill, but that could be from something else. Sex drive is normal, and my mood is the exact same. All in all, I think it's a good pill."

For Birth Control "I have taken and tried many contraceptive methods. I have to say that after all my experiences, I can tell you that Aviane has worked great! Normally, I would get migraine headaches and nausea from other pills and/or NuvaRing. However, I have not experienced any of that with this pill. The hormone dosage is very low, and I think that suits me well since I seem to be very sensitive to it. I did have some irregular periods, but I take that over debilitating pain of any kind. I recommend this birth control pill but also suggest you do some research into the hormone levels in any of them and see if it suits you. At my pharmacy, I was given another generic called Lutera, but I didn't take it because it may have slight differences."

For Birth Control "Aviane was my first experience with birth control, and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. I was severely nauseous at the beginning, but that passed after the first week. Also, I noticed I was becoming really tired and sleepy (like unable to stay awake), which was a problem since I was taking it around lunchtime. So I switched the time I took it to 8 PM, and wow! I sleep like a baby. No acne, no pain, no spotting."

For Birth Control "Positives: I've been on this pill for over a year, and it's alright; I'd be terrified to try another one. 3-day, perfectly timed period with light bleeding compared to my natural, heavy, and often painful one. My skin is pretty clear, and I now forgo makeup altogether. Negatives: I have had increased headaches, ranging from 0-3 per week depending on my stress level, but if you can avoid stress, it shouldn't be too bad. I don't like that my ovulation mucus is gone; I loved knowing myself that way, but most women probably don't care. Also, I think my sex drive may have decreased a bit, although I still seek the deed. (-/+) I did get extremely nauseous when I started taking it in the morning, but switched to nighttime and largely eliminated that problem."

For Birth Control "Wanted to share a positive review since that doesn't happen often! Also, because I was pretty nervous to start birth control since many of the women in my family have responded poorly to it. I've been taking it for a month (so, time will tell if things change in the future), and I have had minor side effects. The first week, I did have one night of bad nausea, but that was definitely due to me not eating very much before. The first week, I also had a minor breakout on my chest. And the only ongoing side effect has been tender boobs, and I'm pretty sure they have grown a bit, too. Otherwise, all positives and hoping it will stay that way :)"

For Birth Control "I initially wanted an IUD, but went on the pill so I could manipulate my period so I wouldn’t be on my period for my honeymoon. I had horrible breakthrough bleeding on my wedding day and whole honeymoon, so that whole point was moot. The absolute worst part is that I have had severe anxiety and paranoia, something I have never experienced before. I am constantly in fear of horrible things happening, it is so severe it is affecting my quality of life. I can barely walk outside by myself without going into full panic mode. This all started shortly after starting Aviane, there has been no other factor that would cause this. I have insane mood swings, extreme irritability, nausea, my chest went from a D to a DDD in the first month, I got cystic acne the first few months, and I still get bad cramps during my period. I made an appointment to switch to a copper IUD, I can’t handle the hormones."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for 1 week. I was so scared to start BC. I was on Yaz for about 2 years 3 years ago, and it was not good. Aviane: no weight gain so far, my breasts got bigger, super clear skin, increased libido, loss of appetite, no nausea, no headache. Yaz: 1st week nightmare, dizzy and severe nausea, it went away after the 1st week, no weight gain, loss of libido, got very emotional. Every woman is different, but in my personal experience, Aviane has been by far better and a good option overall."
