For Birth Control "Greetings, for the ones having problems with EluRyng, you can call your insurance, they add a note explaining you can’t tolerate the generic. I used this medicine as a substitute for NuvaRing, per my insurance. Physical: extreme ocular migraines for days, chronic fatigue, cystic acne, gained 30 pounds in 6 months. Vaginal smell and discharge even using the ring. Emotional: executive dysfunction, extreme anxiety, overwhelmed feeling all the time. This interacted severely with my ADHD medicine (Vyvanse). I told my psychiatrist how I was feeling, and he raised my dosage, it didn’t work. Now back to NuvaRing, balancing the EluRyng effects, I’m feeling the effects I felt taking Vyvanse for the first time, EluRyng interrupted my psychiatric treatment. The extra drug interactions list doesn’t have information about this, this is a very dangerous effect that can get a person to a really bad place. This medicine needs to be recalled, it's dangerous."

For Birth Control "My month on EluRyng has been one of the worst of my life. Week 1: nausea/vomiting, fatigue, burning/irritation, and yeast infection. Week 2: severe anxiety and mood swings -- sobbing out of nowhere, massive unprompted panic attacks, and starting crazy fights with my partner. Week 3: severe, acute depression and constant really dark thoughts. Completely numb, crying 24/7, couldn't decide if life was worth living. Week 4: all of my other symptoms disappeared overnight as soon as the withdrawal/off week started. I started feeling back to normal within a day or two, so now I'm absolutely sure that my wild emotional symptoms were entirely caused by the ring. I would not recommend the generic to anyone. My mental health deteriorated shockingly fast and I've never feared for my safety the way I did during the third week. Given other people's similar experiences, I'm counting down the days until EluRyng is recalled so no one else has to go through this."

For Birth Control "Wow, I thought I was crazy! Good to know that I'm not the only one who started having issues with the ring after being switched to the generic. I had been on NuvaRing for 5 years and never had any issues. My insurance recently switched me to the generic, and I've been having crazy bloating, fatigue, and headaches. Not at all happy with the new generic brand."

For Birth Control "I had great experiences with the Nuvaring, and then all of a sudden, my insurance company stopped giving it and gave me the EluRyng instead. Since I have been on this, I thought I was going crazy that I have spotted even before the three weeks are up, causing major issues with my interactions with my husband, headaches, breast sensitivity and swelling, leg cramps, abdominal cramps, fatigue. It's been crazy, and I thought it was just me. I wish my insurance would take Nuvaring again."

For Birth Control "I have been on NuvaRing since 2007 and have never had any issues. I was given EluRyng in September of 2020. It has been a horrible experience! I have bled 14 days straight. I also experienced fatigue, headaches, and nausea. I’ve also experienced mental changes. I’ve been unhappy and depressed. I am usually the happiest person in the world. My NP suggested I stay on it for 3 weeks for my body to adjust. I told her that I would never use it again! Worst birth control ever!"

For Birth Control "Like others here, I’ve experienced more than noticeable side effects after being switched from NuvaRing to the generic brand by my insurance this May. I had been on NuvaRing for more than a decade with no issues whatsoever. Since being on the generic, my periods have been heavier with spotting in between, along with a 30 lb weight gain. I would say that about 10-15 lbs of this weight gain was due to quarantine (not being as active with gyms shutting down, spending more time at home and snacking, etc.), but in the last few weeks since I’ve been on the generic, I have ballooned in size. Truly alarming. I have also experienced increased anxiety, fatigue bordering on narcolepsy, and have been restlessly kicking in my sleep, where I previously never had any sleeping issues."

For Birth Control "I started this EluRyng a month ago. I take it out tomorrow. My doc gave me the NuvaRing, but I went to the place and got an EluRyng instead or whatever. I've never had fatigue like this. I call it beached whale syndrome. I can't get up or do anything, and I feel loopy. I also don't sleep. I have conflicting moods like anxiety and depression and am on edge easily. I can't eat food a lot. I feel prego. I have vertigo and migraines. The migraines feel like I got stung on the head. And I can't walk straight, so I had to call out for work, which I already have anxiety over. These migraines last all day. Sometimes I'll take a glass of hard liquor to help. I've been eating a crazy ton of bananas, though, for it. I don't think I wanna continue this medication. My sex drive is nonexistent. But hey, I do love estrogen. My IUD caused me lots of problems, and this makes me wetter and less uncomfortable. So at least the infections are gone."

"I was on NuvaRing for years to regulate hormones and skip periods due to iron deficiency anemia. I’ve received iron infusions for years, but was able to regulate blood loss and space out my infusions for longer periods of time than normal while on NuvaRing. A few months ago, I was switched to EluRyng because insurance would no longer cover the brand unless deemed medically necessary. Since the switch to generic, I’ve had constant bleeding and spotting, cramps that feel like contractions, I’ve passed blood clots the size of an orange mid-cycle, had severe mood swings, heart palpitations to the point I had a heart monitor for a week, which showed PVCs, over 100 per day, fatigue to the point of tears, and constant hopelessness. I fight with my husband for no reason, and I’m so on edge my children don’t want to be around me. I don’t blame them. I don’t want to be around me either. This is the worst thing I have ever been on. Don’t do it!!"

For Birth Control "I was in tears last week reading all of these comments. I used Nuvaring for 7 years with no issues. In July 2020, I was switched to EluRyng. Never had issues with my period while using it, so didn't connect the issues I've had for over 2 years now to the generic version being different. I shared with a friend last week that I think I'm already in perimenopause at 35 because there's no explanation for all the symptoms I have and all my tests come back normal. I've gained 25 pounds in the last couple of years, and no matter how hard I work out or cut calories, nothing works. I've had the worst extreme fatigue, migraines for days, crazy anxiety, heart palpitations, ZERO libido, leg cramps at night, insomnia, horrible mood swings, depression, dark self-harm thoughts, fogginess, and my vision has changed significantly 3 times in the last year and a half. I took my ring out 8 days ago and already have so much more energy. Getting the hubby snipped and done with this poison!!"

For Birth Control "After reading these comments, I feel justified. I’ve been feeling the absolute worst for the last 2 months without any obvious cause. I’ve spoken to my doctor about this mystery illness, gotten bloodwork done, all to no avail. After my insurance switched me to EluRyng from NuvaRing 2 months ago without telling me, I have literally wondered why I feel so bad. I have had a constant-and I do mean constant-headache every single day. I’ve had bouts of nausea and vomiting. I’ve lost 5 lbs this month. I’ve never been so fatigued in my life. My anxiety, which has been under control, has been off the charts, and I’m snapping at people for no reason. I’ve had absolutely no sex drive, which is unusual. And we hate to say it-but we shouldn’t-suicidal thoughts. This is the worst “medication” out there. And I really hope you read this BEFORE you also experience these symptoms and find yourself on Google because you think you’re wondering how to keep living."

For Birth Control "If this would let me give it a zero out of 10, I would! Recently had a hard time getting NuvaRing approved, despite being on it for years. So, I gave this EluRyng a try because I was forced to. I and this thing only lasted 8-9 days. Let me just say that I’ve had the worst migraines, insomnia, fatigue, delirium, and mood swings. The worst was the headaches and migraines for me. It felt like my brain was in knots, definitely fog brain too. No exaggeration, I took it out and felt normal again within 12 hours. This is not it for me. I need my OB/GYN to work a little harder on getting my approval. I refuse to go back on this."

For Birth Control "NuvaRing honestly changed my life for the better. I was switched to the EluRyng by my insurance and told by the pharmacy it was the exact same. Nearly two years of suffering, and I've come to realize EluRyng is the culprit. It has caused me horrible fatigue, constant discharge/yeast infections, heavier, more painful periods, worsened ADHD symptoms and reduced the effectiveness of my ADHD medication, increased frequency of debilitating cluster headaches/ocular migraines, worsened abdominal pain and bloating, leg cramps and muscle pains, irregular spotting, and insane sugar cravings. I use it continuously to skip periods, as I did with NuvaRing before, and the first week of EluRyng is somewhat comparable to NuvaRing, but the second and third bring on all the symptoms worse and worse each day, and the last few days before the new one are debilitating - I basically feel like I have the flu and can't work or do anything. It should be illegal to tell people this drug is the same as NuvaRing."

For Birth Control "Horrible. Be careful using this. After 10 years on NuvaRing, happily loving it, 6 months on EluRyng and I gained 15 pounds, had terrible mood swings, severe depression and suicidal thoughts, anger, overall lack of energy, zero sex drive. My periods were worse than they were off BC. I couldn't figure out what it was that was causing all of this until I figured out it. NuvaRing and EluRyng are not the same and this drug needs to be recalled, it's extremely dangerous. Has anyone had luck getting on NuvaRing again? I saw it was discontinued and my pharmacy no longer has it. I'm so upset."

For Birth Control "I was on NuvaRing several years ago before trying an IUD due to minimal side effects. I recently had my IUD removed and wanted to go back on NuvaRing but received EluRyng instead. I am experiencing awful side effects - mood swings, fatigue, nausea, weight gain, headaches. I don’t ever remember feeling this way on NuvaRing, but I will be going back on it."

For Birth Control "I thought I was alone in this switch from NuvaRing to EluRyng, but apparently I’m in good company, which is so unfortunate. I’ve had the worst headaches, extreme fatigue, and swelling/tenderness in my breasts. My first week, I developed terrible acne and dry skin, and I hardly break out. My libido has decreased significantly. I took out my ring after reading these reviews because I simply cannot stand the thought of another week on this birth control method."

For Birth Control "In my normal life, I had some anxiety issues and occasional migraines. Then, I switched from NuvaRing to EluRyng about four years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the cause until just recently because so many of the symptoms seemed related to things I had already experienced. Some totally new things, though, include grand mal seizures (I had never had one before), constant headaches (as in, every single day), a crazy rash that takes over my entire face and lasts for up to 6 months (I ate an extremely restricted diet for 2 months thinking it was candida), passing out at work and waking up in the hospital, flashing lights, intense auras, etc. that have been diagnosed as ocular migraines, vertigo, fatigue, countless other symptoms I probably haven't even considered being connected yet. I remember my life feeling really different, but I just assumed this is what your 30s feel like."

For Birth Control "I was on this for exactly 4 days. Could not eat anything because my appetite was so damaged, more depressed than I have ever been in my life, extreme mood swings to the point that my housemates told me that I was acting like a completely different person, barely could get out of bed, no longer wanted to do anything, hot flashes, dizziness, low energy, muscle cramps. I started this to help with painful periods, no way is it worth the side effects."

For Birth Control "I was on the NuvaRing for years. It was the only medication that worked to regulate my cycle and stop the heavy bleeding, spotting, and extreme cramps I experienced with my period. As soon as this generic version came out, my insurance stopped covering the NuvaRing, and I was given this. I tried it and felt terrible: nausea, a horrible headache behind my eyes, bloating, cramps, cystic acne, extreme fatigue, and spotting. Unlike others, I’ve lost weight but can’t afford that, as I’m at the bottom of my acceptable weight range. I don’t understand how this medication can even be compared to the name brand when it works this poorly."

For Birth Control "I’ve used NuvaRing in the past and had 0 issues with it. I recently decided to go back to it because the BC pill I was on was causing extreme fatigue. When I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy, I noticed I was given a generic version of NuvaRing. I’ve been through my fair share of different birth controls and have had bad experiences, so I was worried about trying something else once again. EluRyng by far has taken the #1 spot for worst birth control I have ever used. The first month was phenomenal. I had so much more energy, reduced headaches, and the easiest withdrawal week. The day after inserting the new birth control, I started having cramps nonstop, and at one point could barely walk because of how severe the pain was. I’ve had nausea and headaches every single day, which has been interfering with my job and daily life. My depression and anxiety are through the roof. I had to remove it because I couldn’t take the side effects anymore."
