For Birth Control "Awful!! Terrible!! I used NuvaRing for an IVF cycle, and since it has gone generic, my insurance doesn’t cover it, so I tried the EluRyng for the latest cycle. I have been feeling very angry with crazy mood swings, depression, and anxiety. I had to take it out because my mental health is severely suffering. I’m also starting to get headaches. I tried to wait it out - after 2 months maybe things would level out, but it just got worse. Big pharma and insurance companies don’t care about women’s health, and unless you do your research and advocate for yourself, they’ll just roll right over you. Would rate 0 if I could. This medication is dangerous."

For Birth Control "Same story as most ladies - switched to this instead of NuvaRing. EluRyng made me anxious, depressed, unmotivated, cold, gave me ALL symptoms of Hashimoto's disease. Wrecked my cycle. Gained 17 pounds after two years on it despite working out 4+ times a week and eating well. Get off IMMEDIATELY. Find a fertility awareness method instead. The one I use (Sensiplan is 99.4% effective). Hormones aren't worth it."

For Birth Control "Reading through the reviews, I feel what I had been feeling is now validated. I had been on NuvaRing for 10+ years and received the generic one day and didn’t realize it wasn’t the same product. I feel like a monster came out. In 3 months, my period changed, my weight gain was noticeable, but by far the worst side effect was my anxiety, mood swings, and irritability. The change in me was drastic. When I realized it wasn’t NuvaRing, I called my insurance, and they said it wasn’t covered anymore. I paid $177 for NuvaRing just to see if it was me or the generic, and it all cleared up. The fogginess, irritability, and anxiety cleared up in 2 weeks. We opted to completely get off birth control after that. Can’t afford $177/month for NuvaRing even though my doctor said it was “medically necessary.” I have to meet an Rx deductible of $3000 first, so it’s not covered. This is a terrible, terrible generic and by no means should be forced on women."

For Birth Control "I have been on this for 9 months. I had terrible anxiety. I thought it was me. I have horrible cramping ever since I started this. I have pain in my thighs, hips, and abdominal cavity. My breasts are sensitive. I am having spotting. I tried to take it as my doctor prescribed and had two months of bleeding, it was horrible. I went to the gynecologist behind it after going to the ER first. I have had more migraines than usual. My first time on the birth control, my face broke out in acne. I battle with my mental health, and this messed with me badly. This birth control sucks, and it causes me pain in my vagina, ovaries, and uterus. I miss my NuvaRing."

For Birth Control "With EluRyng, I had the worst migraines, exhausted for no reason, but can't stay asleep the whole night, stomach and digestive issues, breakthrough bleeding, and sharp pains two weeks in, followed by overwhelming anxiety. I had to take it out. I’d rather get my period early. I will only go back on the ring if it’s an actual NuvaRing or authorized generic. Can’t get this garbage out of my body and system fast enough. NEVER AGAIN."

For Birth Control "I was on EluRyng for 7 months, and I bled 14 to 20 days out of the month. It was absolutely miserable, as I constantly had to use a tampon or pad since it was enough blood to leak through pants but not like a full-blown period. It was usually accompanied by intense itching before the bleeding would start and cramping (usually not too intense but annoying). I was exhausted all the time for basically bleeding 2/3 of the month for 7 months, and found myself having frequent mood swings, including depression and anxiety the first few weeks. I will say that it was convenient to use, as it just remains in the vagina, and my skin and weight didn’t change. I didn’t get pregnant or have any scares, but take that with a grain of salt, as it’s hard to get pregnant when you’re bleeding nonstop. Not the birth control for me."

For Birth Control "In my normal life, I had some anxiety issues and occasional migraines. Then, I switched from NuvaRing to EluRyng about four years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the cause until just recently because so many of the symptoms seemed related to things I had already experienced. Some totally new things, though, include grand mal seizures (I had never had one before), constant headaches (as in, every single day), a crazy rash that takes over my entire face and lasts for up to 6 months (I ate an extremely restricted diet for 2 months thinking it was candida), passing out at work and waking up in the hospital, flashing lights, intense auras, etc. that have been diagnosed as ocular migraines, vertigo, fatigue, countless other symptoms I probably haven't even considered being connected yet. I remember my life feeling really different, but I just assumed this is what your 30s feel like."

For Birth Control "I was previously on NuvaRing with no issues. I was switched to EluRyng and used it for 1.5 months. Those 1.5 months were absolutely horrible. Within days of switching to EluRyng, I noticed major changes to my mental health. I have never felt so emotionally unstable in my life. I was experiencing constant and intense mood swings, increased anxiety, and depression. Emotional regulation became incredibly difficult. I also noticed my ADHD symptoms were exacerbated too, despite staying on the same dosage of medication (Vyvanse). Some other side effects I had were headaches, nausea, random hot flashes, and cramps. This birth control is awful. The good news is you can go back to being on NuvaRing! Tell your doctor your symptoms and request that they file with insurance to be prescribed NuvaRing again. I have Medicaid, and it took my doctor advocating for me and sharing my symptoms, but I am back on NuvaRing, and it is covered by my insurance again!"

For Birth Control "Been on this medication for literally 4 days, and I’ve been angry ever since the day after I put it in. I have no reason to be angry but feel this strong sense of anger. I’ve been very on edge, going off on people over the smallest things that normally don’t bother me. I’ve also been experiencing heat flashes. Imagine having heat flashes outside in 97-degree weather-the worst. My anxiety has been through the roof, and I’ve been very unhappy. I know it’s the medication because I was perfectly fine 4 days ago. I definitely don’t feel like myself. It’s 12:13 in the morning, and I drove 40 minutes to the only Walgreens in my area with a 24-hour pharmacy to spend $100 on NuvaRing. I couldn’t deal any longer. If you can help it, don’t take this BC method!!"

For Birth Control "This was prescribed to me after not taking birth control for about 5 years. I was told I was getting the NuvaRing and was given the generic, unbeknownst to me. I didn’t realize until now, doing more research, what a difference there is between the two. Severe breakouts within 2 days… this is after medically treating my skin for over 8 months and clearing up ALL acne. Insane mood swings, crying, intolerance, anxiety. Definitely doesn’t mix right with antidepressants or ADHD medication. I took it out after day 2. I do not recommend it to any women!!"

For Birth Control "I’ve used NuvaRing in the past and had 0 issues with it. I recently decided to go back to it because the BC pill I was on was causing extreme fatigue. When I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy, I noticed I was given a generic version of NuvaRing. I’ve been through my fair share of different birth controls and have had bad experiences, so I was worried about trying something else once again. EluRyng by far has taken the #1 spot for worst birth control I have ever used. The first month was phenomenal. I had so much more energy, reduced headaches, and the easiest withdrawal week. The day after inserting the new birth control, I started having cramps nonstop, and at one point could barely walk because of how severe the pain was. I’ve had nausea and headaches every single day, which has been interfering with my job and daily life. My depression and anxiety are through the roof. I had to remove it because I couldn’t take the side effects anymore."

For Birth Control "Emotional, paranoid, irritated with everyone and everything, and crying constantly. The only reason I went on it is because Kaiser stopped covering NuvaRing. Now I am desperate to get off of it."

For Birth Control "I have been on it for a month and haven’t had any big issues. I have had a few mood swings and some anxiety and such, but I also didn’t switch over from the other ring."
