Eszopiclone for Insomnia "I have taken Lunesta 3 mg for about 5 years now. Never have I had bad dreams or any instances of sleepwalking, etc. I take it, and about 45 minutes later, I am fast asleep until my alarm clock goes off. Prior to finding Lunesta, I had insomnia for years, and I cannot tell you how much of a lifesaver this medicine has been! I tried Ambien, but it did not work for me at all. I also tried Sonata, but I would wake up a few hours after going to sleep. I've had no problems with tolerance, either. The only 'bad' thing is the crappy taste in one's mouth, but I discovered that brushing my tongue when I brush my teeth before going to bed gets rid of 90% of it, along with using Biotene mouthwash (the dry mouth brand). Hooray! My insurance will now cover it, too!"

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "Worthless drug for my Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. The only thing Lunesta does is make my muscles twitch on opposite sides of the body, dry mouth, and a horrible taste. Leaves me feeling very panicked, like I’m afraid to lose consciousness. What a disappointment."

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "I am 51 and a female. I have tried Quviviq, it did NOT work. Ambien, I was on for 5 years, was not working, so I went to a sleep specialist, and he put me on Lunesta 2 mg. It took a couple of weeks to start working well, but I love it - it keeps me asleep. I sleep so great now, I am not waking up all night. I am a little tired when I wake, and the dry mouth goes away after about 4 weeks or is not near as bad, and the metallic taste goes away too after about 5 weeks. I love Lunesta, thank God I can sleep again and not wake up 10 times a night. Lunesta is wonderful, it works great for me. I also take 1 ml of doxepin."

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "I took Lunesta for the first time, and it was great, it put me to sleep within a few minutes, and I slept the entire night. Woke up fresh and well-rested, like I haven’t been before. People are talking about bad taste, I haven’t experienced any, maybe a little dry mouth, but a glass of water fixed it. I will stick to this pill for a while now."

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "Genuinely hate this medicine! The side effects of dry mouth and a terrible taste (even though pills are coated) make it impossible not to drink extra water. Drinking extra water caused me to wake to pee in the middle of the night every night. One night I was so groggy and out of it - feeling really drugged - I fell and hit my head, shoulder, and elbow. In the week I took Lunesta, I never got more than 4-5 hours of sleep and each night had to use the bathroom. My sleep tracker showed little REM. Dry mouth was constant day and night. I never woke refreshed once and always felt like I had a residual “hangover” of a drugged feeling in the AM. I took Lunesta because Ambien seemed to stop working for me. I took it years ago and couldn’t remember why I disliked it."

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "Recently, I got married, and my insurance changed. The new insurance would not pay for the sleeping medicine I have been on for the last two years. They said I had to try Lunesta, Ambien, or one other before they would approve it. Last night made one full week that I was on Lunesta. Here are the reasons why I HATE it: 1. My mouth gets dry. 2. In the morning, my mouth tastes like I've been drinking spoiled milk. 3. I am so very depressed, I take antidepressants already. 4. I am so exhausted I do not feel like I can function. 5. I do not stay asleep. 6. I feel like the entire world could implode around me, and I still would not care. This medicine is by far the worst thing I've ever been on. I wouldn't even recommend this medication to anyone!!!"

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "Took this after years on clonazepam, then a month of Ambien. Ambien made me have strange side effects. Texting people at night, not remembering in the morning. I started having muscle twitches, brain fog, lightheadedness, and sweating after going off of it. I have been taking Lunesta since mid-November. I will admit, I do not sleep as well as when I took the Ambien. Lunesta does not knock me out. I will go to sleep and then I'm up at 12:45, then sometimes 2:45. But still no weird side effects, and sadly I still wake up more tired than I was with Lunesta, or even the clonazepam. The pill does taste gross, but swallow it fast! The taste does not linger, but you may have a dry mouth... nothing to prevent me from taking it. I'm in the highest dosage."

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "I decided to give Lunesta a try after Ambien stopped working. The first night, I took the whole 3 mg pill. BLECH!!! I woke up many times throughout the night with a HORRIBLE bitter, metallic taste and dry mouth. I learned that the bitter taste is not the taste of the pill itself but related to the levels of Lunesta in your blood serum. That is to say, it is not bitterness from the pill touching your mouth, it is being excreted into your saliva during the metabolization process. The next night, I split the pill and took half. Still had some bitterness in my mouth, but NOTHING like it was the first night. I also drank it with a glass of orange juice, as it was suggested elsewhere. Sleepwise, Lunesta does some weird things: crazy dreams and seemingly fractured sleep. I also wake up very groggy."

For Insomnia "I would like to share my successful story with this drug. I was prescribed 7.5 mg at nighttime, four months ago, as I had total insomnia because of a generalized anxiety episode, the second in three years. It helped me sleep well with no side effects, just dry mouth but nothing serious. I managed to overcome the stressful events that caused anxiety and to go to work at the same time, which was great. A little panic all this time because I thought the drug would make me addicted. Took it every night for 4 months. Then I started to taper off on my own, cutting a quarter every 2 weeks. Successfully completed my taper, and now I sleep well again on my own. Give it 2 nights when you cut the doses. First night you might not sleep thinking that the new dose won't have the same effect. It did not give me any withdrawals. Trust the process!"

Eszopiclone for Insomnia "Lunesta 3mg, fall asleep fast and stay asleep for about 5-6 hrs. This is the best I have used, I have tried Ambien 10mg, Seroquel 150mg, and others. Ambien worked for a few years, but then I became immune to it. I sleep better and feel better than I have on other sleeping meds. I hope it lasts for a very long time. Dry mouth is the only side effect I have gotten, and it’s tolerable."
