For Atrophic Vaginitis "Prescribed this for vaginal atrophy and UTIs related to sex. After much hesitation, I tried this, and within a week, the vaginal irritation after sex stopped. A miracle, however, I did start to get pelvic pain, and after 8 weeks, started with irritation in my urethra. I'm taking a break from it."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Eight years ago, when I started using it, the results were good. Have been using it on and off since then. Now, after symptoms became worse, I decided to do a 14-day treatment, but on day 10, it has made no difference. Now, not sure what route to take."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Very poor results, 5 months and things are worse than before. Worse ever thrush, which took ages to treat. Prolapse more uncomfortable. Now trying some steroid cream to reduce inflammation from Vagifem. Packaging completely unacceptable, what a waste of plastic."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "This product has been a life-changer for me. In my late 30s (early onset menopause), I began to experience near-constant vaginal burning and pain during urination, making it almost impossible to even consider having intercourse. But after starting Vagifem, these symptoms vanished. I've been taking it three times a week for years now, and I've told my doctor to please never stop prescribing it."

"I was very nervous when I used Vagifem for the first time. Worried about severe side effects, etc., as I'm a very nervous person, but after reassurance from my GP, I started and have been on them nearly 2 weeks now and feel great. Little cramp one day and a tiny bit of spotting, but that apparently is normal and will settle. My GP recommended Vagifem as I was getting repeated UTIs due to menopause, which I never had any bladder problems in my life. I'm hoping these will stop the infections and hopefully make me look 30 again!"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I was prescribed Vagifem after a failed smear test. The nurse couldn’t perform the smear test because she said I was very inflamed. It did hurt, so I wanted her to stop. I had no symptoms of VA until she tried to insert the speculum. I was prescribed 2 weeks of Vagifem and told to return on the 3rd week. The first week was grand, all went to plan. Insertion was fine until the first day of week 2, and oh my God, I just couldn’t get the applicator to insert fully. It was like it was hitting a brick wall, the pain was horrible. So I phoned the nurse who said that was normal and not to force it, just insert as far as possible and release the tablet. But the pain when I click the button was like I was letting off a bullet into my vagina. I could feel the tablet fire out and a sharp pain, but then the pain goes away fast. But I have lots of blood. The thought of having to do it puts me off using Vagifem. I’m not sure what’s causing the applicator to not fully insert until I see the nurse again."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I had been using Vagifem 10 mg twice a week and had a prolapse, but it seemed to help for over 5 years. The vaginal prolapse got worse. A pessary didn't work. I went privately for a hysterectomy and vaginal repair 8 weeks ago. Was told before the operation not to use Vagifem pre-op or while recovering. I found this really helped me, so I'm now getting confirmation that I can restart using it. I'm now 74 and found it really helpful."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Using for dryness, works well but have had ocular headaches, spotting, and dizziness, bloated and weight gain. I’m 45 peri-menopausal on desogestrel for heavy periods. Not sure Vagifem is worth the risks. I’m on two pessaries a week, will cut to once a week once and see if that helps."
