For Atrophic Vaginitis "Does anyone know if any of the ingredients have changed recently? I have been using Vagifem for almost 15 years once a week and never experienced any burning, but recently, out of the blue, I have burning and cannot understand why, as I am using the brand and not the generic as that caused horrible problems. It works great but not happy with the irritation. Thank you."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Worst 'medication' I've ever had. Horrific headache, couldn't even get up out of bed safely the day after one and only application, extreme nausea and dizziness, next few days spotting, vaginal pain, burning for the next two weeks until I took some acid regulators. Subsequently have been sleepless, extremely low on energy, cystitis, cold sore - basically everything saying the body's taken a beating. One pessary. Still battling it four weeks later. Never again."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I tried Vagifem for two weeks, and while I think it probably helped with soreness inside and plumped things up, it also caused irritation of the urethra, whereby I had a constant pressure, feeling like a need to wee all the time, burning, and stinging inside. I couldn't live with it, and it kept waking me up at night. These symptoms started when I used Vagifem and stopped when I stopped it. I really hope there is an alternative, as I think, for many, Vagifem is a miracle."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I’m 60 years old and have had multiple urinary tract infections over the years. My doctor just started me on Vagifem 3 weeks ago, as well as progesterone oral tablets. In the last week, the burning, itching, and irritation are driving me crazy. I’m trying to deal with it and applying topical OTC creams as well as natural balms to try and calm my vaginal area down. I’m going back to the doctor tomorrow as I can’t stand this anymore. I was really hoping this medication would work for me, I wonder what the next step will be?"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I’ve been using this since my hysterectomy back in 2005 with no issues, twice a week, but in the last two months, I’ve noticed burning, which I thought was a UTI infection or bladder infection. Did three rounds of antibiotics. I saw no difference. I also think that they must’ve changed the ingredients in this hormone replacement because I’m experiencing itching, burning, and I feel like I have to pee all the time. It is so bad that I’m waking up at night with a burning sensation."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "After suffering with terrible burning, irritation, soreness, and self-medicating with antifungal medication, I have finally found relief with Vagifem. It wasn't thrush at all, it's, for me, a miracle product. After two weeks, I am finally back to normal... Thank you so much, Vagifem!!"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I am aged 68, and 3 years ago suddenly had vaginal and bladder pain, frequent urination, soreness, itching, redness, and swelling. The soreness has recently gotten worse, and my gynecologist prescribed Vagifem. From the first dose, I experienced bloating and stomach ache but carried on until dose 7. About 1 hour after insertion, I experienced the most terrible burning, which carried on all night and has been flaring up in the 4 days since. Now I cannot use any of my emulsifiers or herbal creams, which used to help. This medication has caused the worst pain ever. In my experience, even a score of 1 is too good for it."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I have been using Vagifem for around 5 years, and initially, it was great, but in the past 12 months, I have also been experiencing burning and irritation and have also started wondering if there has been a change in what is in the pessary."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Insufficient insertion instructions. The inside of the applicator came away from the outside once. It says the tablets won't fall out when you stand up, but the first three times, my cervix must have pushed it straight out. Tried using them at bedtime, only to find them on the sheet in the morning. Tried again at bedtime, only to find the tablet stuck, half-melted, to the tip of my cervix the next day. Slight stinging sensation at first; when that stops, it's probably because the tablet has fallen out. No instructions for pessary wearers; presumably, we remove the pessary before administering. The only method I haven't tried yet is putting the tablet in, followed immediately by inserting the pessary, but that would defeat the object, I imagine, leaving me dry and sore beneath. I don't care for throwaway applicators; it seems a waste of plastic not to wash and reuse them. The doctor said to stay on these for life, but I can't see the point if they won't stay in. Liquid or ointment would be better."

For Atrophic Urethritis "47 years old. Prescribed by gynecologist. 1 month of being in a nightmare. Severe vaginal swelling, itchiness, burning, pain, and thrush-like symptoms without discharge but severe pain. My vagina since taking this medication feels like an overripe, rotten, juicy tomato. I also have severe water retention and swelling in my lower body. Just waiting until it's out of my system."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "At first, the burning was intense (from using the pills), it later decreased. After day 7, I had the worst case of bacterial vaginosis. I have stopped using the 10 mcg inserts."
